I agree with you when you say stores with not so clear names, dhl free shipping speaks red flag, but i can't agree with you that large number of followers is a red flag sign, nah bro, know the type of info you give out as there are a great number of old & new members learning a lot here including myself

Other things that speaks a lot of red flags within includes
- High quality product with a very cheap price e.g 2 terabyte hdd at say $4

-Very few buyers of a particular known product with bad reviews under a particular store

-Stores with very low customer ratings e.g 70%
Always go for stores with ratings around 95% or above with good number of followers & positive reviews about products being sold, shipping time etc

- Don't buy American products & some other well known countries that are into production on Aliexpress unless you are sure of a legit store that markets its product e.g buying JBL, Harman Kardon, IPhone, Sony etc products on Aliexpress is definitely going to get you a clone or fake product
TIP: Always research on products being manufactured in China, then search for their store & know if its available, that way you increase your chances of buying genuine product e.g Lenovo, Anker, Sofirn, Shustar, Feijian, Tribit, Mifa...

Becareful about buying Speaker on AliExpress. Most them sell fake speakers. Nearly fell into it.

I always go for their store & once i'm satisfied with the reviews and others, i'll make an order

You can get a half price bargain and reduce the price with vouchers but you are highly unlikely to get a product for one tenth of the price.If an item is advertised as original but turns out to be fake,you can open a dispute.You could have got the Anker soundcore motion boom for less than half price using the just discontinued GTB forty dollar reduction.The main thing is to be prepared , wait for the sales seasons and read the comments very well but do bear in mind that some sellers utilize fake comments
