Understanding How Online Shoppers and Information Seekers Find Products

In today’s brief tutorial, I want you to understand how buyers shop online. It is the first thing to know as a webmaster, blogger or merchant so that you can prepare yourself to make money online from them. There are millions of websites on the World Wide Web competing and trying to sell the same or similar products and services to the same market. Unless you’re different or unique in your business, you may not be able to close sales successfully.

Online shoppers mainly use search engines such as Google.com to find products or information. But they can also follow a link sent by a friend, family or colleague to come to your website. Unfortunately, only websites on the first page of Google.com have a chance to receive highly targeted visitors to their websites. How many times do you click on page 2 of Google to find something to buy?

Let’s assume a potential buyer wants to buy designer bags. First, he will enter the brand word or keyword or search term that best describes what he is looking for. For example, he may type “gucci bag.” As a webmaster or blog owner, you may never rank for that keyword because it is too competitive.

What you’ve to do is to search for long tail keywords and analyze them to see if you can rank for them on first page. These keywords include:
gucci shoulder bag
gucci soho leather shoulder bag
vintage gucci shoulder bag
gucci ophidia small shoulder bag

You make use of keyword research tools to do this exercise. Google Keyword Planner tool can help you find lots of keywords but it will not analyze keyword for profitability. You have to do that manually. After conducting keyword research, your task will be to write articles or blog posts around the keywords you’ve found.

When building a blog to promote and sell products and services, you must understand search engine optimization and how to write SEO articles to help you rank web pages on SERP. Happy weekend and how’s the day?

In all humility, I want to introduce myself as a
digital marketing expert and I’ve been online for
some years now. I love working from home as a self
employed entrepreneur without a boss ordering me
around. Some time ago I stumbled on one of the most
popular Nairaland’s thread on how to make money
online which focuses on domain flipping business.

I’ve been doing underground domain investing and
website investing as well for years even before the
above thread was created. My initial intention
was to observe what is trending in the virtual real
estate business from Nigeria online entrepreneurs’
perspective on that thread, read other members’
contributions and learn too.

In short, learning is one of my hobbies and it has
helped me tremendously in my professional career and
business! Ultimately, I fell in love with the
domain flipping thread and I started writing and posting
my own contributions where and when necessary to it while
relaxing myself.

Some members saw and read my modest contributions and
suggested that I should open a separate thread on this
forum to discuss and focus on digital marketing generally
because they perceived as an all-round internet marketer.

I was humbled but reluctant at first about it because it
will definitely eat into my productive time or man hours.
As an accountant and business doer myself, I prefer investing
my time on viable business ideas instead of teaching.

But by popular request, I’ve to give in to this free digital
marketing course so that it will not become ungodly of me to
help fellow Nigerians. I don’t assume to know everything.
Not at all! We all have to contribute to this online marketing
training thread in order to make it a robust knowledge base and
a success. Let us make this thread the go-to place for internet
marketing training for Nigerians and for anyone who wants to

We need to empower our youths with requisite digital marketing
skills so that they can frown and scorn 419, con artistry, fraud,
scams and so on. If our youths can start an online business and

to do away with scams except that person is congenitally greedy
and to a fault.

From this online business training, I’ll go through the whole
gamut of digital marketing, one step at a time. I’ll respond
to questions and every other knowledgeable member who has legit
answers can also contribute. We’re not going to entertain fraudulent
tactics (black hat methods) of earning money online. NO, No, No!

And the best of it all is that it is totally free digital marketing
training for Nigerians and any other person from the world over who
has found this thread on the web. But I want the ideas shared here
to have “local content and relevance” because it is hard for some
Nigerians who don’t know how to earn money online.

I’ll be looking at different online business opportunities and models
that will put real money in your wallet such as affiliate marketing
business, writing and selling ebooks online from your own website or
third party websites like Amazon.com, domain investing, website investing,
app development, blogging for money, how to make money with Google Adsense,
freelance business, information marketing business, just to mention a few.

I may not discuss anything that has to do with paid surveys online, paid
to read emails, etc because these are not sustainable internet businesses
in Nigeria for us to do with peace of mind as of now.

Get a domain name, buy web hosting and install WordPress on your domain

For every name I sell, I flook at my portfolio to see which names I would love to hold another year then I renew before buying new ones. Though I've not sold any I renewed but who knows.....

Why not build a website or start a blog on each domain name you renew
so that you can earn money online from them. If you make $100 per website
in a year from one website from Google Adsense and affiliate links it will
cover your expenses for domain renewal fee and website hosting if any.

And you can also put the website for sale. There are too many online
business opportunities we can think of and do.

My Oga, this is always the problem with most Nigerians with all due respect
to my fatherland/motherland. We publicly come to solicit for favours and
votes that skew judgment.

You don't need to solicit for votes in the open. The whites have all the tools
to investigate every online activity. If the name is good enough, you don't
need to beg for votes.

With racial vendetta, the whites will always come at us especially when they feel
we are smarter and more intelligent than them. Now that the issue of 419 is
all over the place, they would want to give all of us bad names in order to hang
us. Be WARY all the time.

For example, some years back when I was just getting a foothold on my online
business, a young guy saw me reading a printed handout on internet business
in the same bus we boarded. He smiled at me and from there a conversation
ensued.

I discovered he was making a killing with Google Adsense through arbitrage.
I hired him for Google Adsense training and I used Mr. Biggs as our meeting
point. It was awesome for me as I started making money online from there too.

I paid him to set up a Google Adsense website for me to diversify to another
niche market. Do you know what he did? He embedded his own Google Adsense
codes in my own website to mix up with mine. I didn't know and he didn't end there.

From time to time, he will go to my website and start clicking on his Adsense adverts
to earn money online. My grouse with the click fraud is that he was already successful
with this online business opportunity. Why cheating?

How did I know? Google finally found out and banned me. When I discovered it I was
heartbroken. From there I vowed not to do anything with Nigerians again. What if I'm
not a Nigerian? I would continue to fume at the mention of the name, abi?

This is how the outside world is taking us now. How I wish the government can do
something about it. Unfortunately, the majority of our leaders are fraud themselves.
A man who will inherit the brother's wife will not profer remedy for his dying brother
even if he has the right medicine or drug.

For instance, PayPal merchant account is very good for information marketers. Our
leaders cannot put things in place so that worldwide electronic gateways can become
available here. It is just pathetic. We'll all succeed in Jesus' name. Amen

How do you mean when you say, "E-books don't work for you?" It is not
ebooks that will make the money for you. It is the action you TAKE that
will give you results.

Many people will say domain flipping and affiliate marketing are not
working for them because they are not taking the RIGHT action, lazy or
impatience to get results.

To hold you by the hand and train you will cost you a fortune. The best
way to hit the ground running is to ask questions and get advice from
kind people who are willing to assist.

I'm interested in what you've done so far that did not result in positive ROI
(return on investment) so that I can address them for you. Meanwhile,
some of us here have asked me to open a thread to teach something
similar. I appreciated their suggestions and have agreed to do so.

But I need time to put finishing touches to it because I'm aiming for
complete digital marketing training and I don't want to derail this
thread either by asking questions outside the OP's purpose of creating

Personally, I like and love making money online instead of taking the time

I bought this domain arizonaairambulance//king, estibot appraised it @$2,200 [/b]then I listed it around $699- $499. So searching on afternic today I saw the tweak of same domain [b](airambulancearizona//king) with the same estibot appraisal listed for $9,880.

My question, it advisable to list arizonaairambulance//king in four figure. (i.e $4,999)?

Though after days of outbounding, there is no positive reply yet. Please advice.

You can enter your main keyword in Google.com search engine
and pick the URL of the first 10 results. Next, launch your free
Google Keyword Planner tool if you've Google Ads account and
then enter each URL, one after the other, to mine their keywords
similar to your website domain name.

Other tools are not free to use e.g. ahrefs.com
