A lot of Nigerians (even the educated and enlightened) think that doing online business is all about 419 and scams. I should know better. Some years back, my professional colleague saw me with a Clickbank cheque and was wondering what cheque it is. I explained to him and he scornfully asked me, “Will that cheque clear?’

But because we know character and interest change over time, I believe in his deep-seated mind he would anxiously be waiting for law enforcements agents to come and round me off sooner or later.

Up till this day, I’m a free agent and my wife loves it because I’m always around to chat and attend to the ministry of the word that God has entrusted me with. I’m also waxing stronger by the year and they call me “the boss” because I’m always ahead of the game. It’s not the money really but the time freedom to do my bidding at any time.

When you’re doing legitimate online business, you will never be afraid of anything untoward. If not for security situations in Nigeria, I know there are many Nigerians out there also making cool cash working from home who would have flaunted their big income and earnings. For someone to display $3,000 cheque from affiliate marketing is like going on a mission of no return. To do so will endanger such lives.

What I am saying is that there are legitimate online business opportunities you can start today depending on your interest, do your market research, write a business plan (it could one-page business plan) and go for it. Before you know it, you could be making $500 a month online. This will give you the confidence to see what is possible. The challenge I see with most Nigerian youths is that they want instant gratification i.e. harvest before you plant syndrome. I know that is not you!

Yes, you can start a blog with completely brandable domain name. It actually gives you more freedom to promote different products on your domain. For instance, Jumia does not tie in to any specific market. However, you need time and patience to create awareness and brand exposure for the name.

The advantage of keyword domain is that it can easily be crawled and indexed by search engines and human readers will not be at sea thinking what your website topic is about. It depends on you, your business strategy and goal.

I'm always amazed when people ask for outbound marketing email template. The truth is that each domain has its features/benefits. Use the domain for sale benefits to market that specific domain. For example, if you've EMD (exact match domain) with 100,000 average monthly search volume and $5 CPC (cost per click), you can tell your potential buyers that it has:
1. high search volume and give numbers,
2. high CPC and give the highest,
3. EMD and let him/her knows that there is advantage of type-in traffic.

On another note, you know the reason why you registered to sell, tell your potential buyers what it is. But if you registered to make dollars and not to add value to your prospective buyer, you may hold that domain for too long.

Answer:
Your own product if any, affiliate product links and Google Adsense for now. When the volume of traffic is huge you can sell ad spaces and try media ads networks.

No trick, no hack. It is by being CONSISTENT in blogging and generating traffic with your preferred methods. Anything otherwise is fluke.

Answer:

Chatbot is a piece of software that is interactive. I've not used it because I don't go after software that will come and go out of the marketplace place by tomorrow. But you can go to their official website to learn more and I guess it won't be free.

Answer:
You've to be very careful using paid adverts to generate traffic for your Google Adsense program.

Google frowns at it and it can get you banned. Adsense arbitrage is no longer working.

None I know. But your creativity can stand out for you.

Answer:

You should have been profitable by now if you were doing things right at least making $500 per month.

My advice:
1. Target long tail money keywords when writing blog posts
2. Do more of internal linking of your blog posts
3. Use LSI keywords to generate additional traffic for every blog article you publish
3. Start email marketing to build an email list of subscribers from scratch
4. Do more of content marketing and guest blogging to consolidate your ranking
5. Watch your competitors to know what they are doing better than you and do the same or even better.

That is what I can think off my head right now.
