PoliticsEmbezzled Public Funds by Idekeson(op): 7:42pm On Apr 28, 2006
A lot of us here on Nairaland are closely connected to past and present Nigerian public officials, who used their position to enrich themselves and their family. Most of us have gained in official corruption one way or the other. How do you feel knowing that much of your gain is at Nigeria's loss as a nation? Air it out. This is an opportunity to discuss this corruption saga from a different perspective.

Greatpeter hit the issue right in the head.
"It is good though to take these precausions you highlighted above.
but you people left two things untouched these are ignorance (illiteracy) and poverty.
"

"Poverty, our government is not doing much about this".

CultureRe: Why Am I Often Approached By African Men? (An African-American Woman) by Idekeson(m): 1:48am On Apr 27, 2006
From what I can decipher from your post, you exhibit a lot of the values that African men can relate to. This is more so in black Americans from the south where family values seen in African societies still exist.
It's sad that in America, there is less percentage of black American men that share those values you seem to project in your life. You only need to observe the way most black Americans talk about their mother with no reference to their father, to understand why you're not getting quality advances from black American men.
RomanceRe: What Is It With Port-Harcourt Women And Money! Is It Normal? by Idekeson(m): 12:51am On Apr 27, 2006
@Rottweiller
You're right. Couldn't analyse the situation any better.
RomanceRe: What Is It With Port-Harcourt Women And Money! Is It Normal? by Idekeson(m): 7:44pm On Apr 26, 2006
As long as you can maintain an appearance of been "loaded" (nice car & clothings) and often ready to spend on "good-times", you'll have as many girls as you can handle. Any girl that ask you for raw cash, strike her name off the list!. Have fun on your own terms until you're ready to settle down and get married.
RomanceRe: Why Naija Guys In The Diaspora Go Home To Marry by Idekeson(m): 7:14pm On Apr 25, 2006
Naija girls ought to go home and marry instead of sitting on their ass waiting for Mr. Right. Back home, you can even get two for the price of one, just showing up in Naija as an "akata chic".
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Right For A Christian To Take Alcohol? by Idekeson(m): 7:01pm On Apr 25, 2006
Drink to get drunk. When you're drunk, you fall asleep. When you're asleep, you don't sin. When you don't sin you go to Heaven! grin
RomanceRe: Why Naija Guys In The Diaspora Go Home To Marry by Idekeson(m): 2:03pm On Apr 25, 2006
Marriage being a life long commitment (supposedly), guys would rather expand their choice of women, rather than limit their choice to those available abroad. This is based on the fact that Naija guys prefer to marry Naija women.

If you know your style, you got no problem. Knowing what to wear and when to wear is the key.
PoliticsRe: Arabic Inscriptions On Naira by Idekeson(op): 1:27pm On Apr 25, 2006
One of our fundamental faults as a nation is that we do not understand the concept of the rule of law. I have no problem with Ajami been elevated as part of our official language, if it is the wish of the nation, not just to accommodate the wishes of a segment of the country. Any law or policy of the federation ought to reperesent the wishes of majority of the constituent parts. That is democracy. The argument that Ajami is not Islamic but rather a widely accepted language in the North, is strong but totally beside the point. The country chose English as its medium of communication for a variety of reasons, mainly due to our diverse culture and language. If this goal is not been fulfilled, then the issue should be put up for debate on how to fix it, having in mind the different interests at stake.

FamilyRe: How To Get My Aunt To See A Doctor About Her 'Spiritual Attack' by Idekeson(m): 3:48am On Apr 25, 2006
You have to outsmart her in her suicidal belief in voodoo/miracles. Suggest to your mum to hire a "preacher" with claims of deliverance for her. Preacher should suggest that in addition to his remedy, your aunt will have to see a specialist. She is likely to heed to the instruction.

TravelMost Africans Think Nigerians Are Arrogant by Idekeson(op): 4:07pm On Apr 23, 2006
Most Africans View Nigerians As Arrogant

Are we to be blamed or is it their lack of understanding of our character as proud people, despite the common shortcomings we all share as Africans.

I've come across a lot of Africans that didn't have a lot of nice things to say about Nigerians. Not to mention some African discussion forums I've visited. The intensity they attack issues related to Nigerians often amaze me. Share your thoughts.

RomanceRe: Can You Fall For A Woman Who Has Too Much Make Up On? by Idekeson(m): 12:07am On Apr 23, 2006
I hate to mess with women with heavy make-up. They always leave stain on your body or clothing, which may put you in  a situation of having to explain yourself later.
