In an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, the Executive Chairman of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, Mr. Debo Adeniran, said a reshuffle of the president’s cabinet was imperative, owing to concerns over the state of the country.

Adeniran, who commended Mrs. Buhari for her comments,  said Buhari’s ministers had not lived up to the expectations of Nigerians.

He said, “We as a group have expressed our concerns over the underperformance of Buhari’s ministers. The comments credited to the president’s wife  justified our assertion that a change in the cabinet is imperative. There are many misfits in the present cabinet that need to be removed.

“The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has not shown us that she can handle the job. The economy has been nose-diving. In terms of infrastructural development, all we have been getting are excuses from the government. The Minister of Justice is only repeating the mistakes of his predecessor. He has not been able to bring any of the corruption-related cases to a logical conclusion. I think a change in the cabinet is very important. We will not join others to condemn the president’s wife because she has freedom of speech.”

PhonesSwitch Off Your Galaxy Note 7 Off Now: Aljazeera by idensko(op): 4:48pm On Oct 11, 2016
Samsung has announced a total halt to production and a recall of its troubled Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, citing continued safety concerns over the device bursting into flames.

Analysts have said that the move could cost the world's top smartphone maker $17bn, a huge blow as it fights Apple for domination of the market.

"We recently readjusted the production volume for thorough investigation and quality control, but putting consumer safety as top priority, we have reached a final decision to halt production of Galaxy Note 7s," the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Earlier, the tech giant had urged owners to switch the phone off over safety concerns.

Samsung said that it had asked all global carriers to stop sales of Note 7s and stop exchanging original devices for replacements, while it worked with regulators to look into the problem.

"Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note 7 or replacement Galaxy Note 7 device should power down and stop using the device," the South Korean firm said in statement.

Samsung's decision to pull Note 7s off the shelves for the second time in less than two months has raised doubts about the firm's quality control, while industry commentators have questioned transparency at the tech giant.

"It is extremely difficult organisation to get an interview and to get information from. That's the way it operates," Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett said, reporting from Seoul, said.

Claire Reilly, senior writer at CNET Australia, told Al Jazeera "there were criticisms that Samsung did not move swiftly enough" after fires were first reported.

"I think the initial delay was because a recall is very scary for the company as they think about brand damage, bottom-line and share price," she said. "They moved a lot more swiftly which is what they had to do in the second case."

READ MORE: No smooth sailing for Samsung smartphones

Top US and Australian carriers on Monday suspended sales or exchanges of the Note 7s, while aviation authorities banned passengers from using the phones, after smoke from a replacement device forced the evacuation of a passenger plane in the United States last week.

"Its share prices at the close of trading here in Seoul were down by 8 percent which is nearly $17bn in terms of valuation of this hugely influential powerful and wealthy company in South Korea," Al Jazeera's Fawcett said.

Aviation risk

The premium device launched in August and was supposed to compete with Apple's latest iPhone for supremacy in the smartphone market. Well received by critics, its first problem was a shortage as pre-orders overwhelmed supply.

But within days of the launch images of charred Note 7s began appearing on social media, in the first sign that something was seriously amiss. Samsung has since recalled 2.5 million Note 7s due to faulty batteries.

"This has probably killed the Note 7 brand name. Who knows if they'll even be allowed to re-release it," said Edward Snyder, managing director of Charter Equity Research.

While speaking on Boko Haram, Ms Onochie tried to beat her chest like the famous King Kong but forgot to remind Nigerians that neither Buhari nor his party ever supported military action against the sect. Is Onochie unaware that ACN/ANPP/CPC/APC condemned the state of emergency that was declared in 2013 against the sect by last administration? Is she unaware that APC/ACN/ANPP/CPC condemned the official declaration of Boko Haram being a terrorist organisation in 2013? Is she unaware that neither of the party that formed the APC and the APC itself hailed the decisions of the American and British government to proscribe Boko Haram as foreign terrorist organization? If they had cooperated in the past I am sure that lots of lives that were cut short wouldn't have been.

On the victims of Boko Haram, while we are happy that bombings have been drastically reduced by our Army, we are most concerned that our citizens are left to die of malnutrition in the various IDPs. What we now have is starvation boko haram ravaging the people in IDPs because President Buhari would rather spend £50,000 (N35 million) to fix his ear in the UK than to feed our citizens in IDPs.

Most people has forgotten so fast.

These oppositions then were the real problem of Nigeria.
I remembered how they wrote to US Government, telling them not to sale arms to us.

a sovereignt nation like Nigeria has to Buy it's arms from Black market.
Dasuki & co took advantage of these shady black market deals.

If only they did not oppose Jonathan fight against these Boko haram,
Their may not be Bokoharam for them to fight.

Karma!!!!

PoliticsAPC, Observer Group Disagrees On Edo Election: Vangaurd by idensko(op): 7:22am On Oct 04, 2016
APC, observer group disagree on Edo e

NEWSCOMMENTS By Gabriel Enogholas, Joseph Erunke

AN election observer group under the aegis of Alliance for Credible Elections, ACE, yesterday, in Abuja, alleged that the just concluded governorship election in Edo State, where Godwin Obaseki, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared winner, was heavily rigged. Meanwhile in Benin, accredited election observers under the aegis of Public Interest Association, that monitored governorship election in the state, has called for the cancellation of the results, saying that it was a charade and does not reflect the wishes of Edo people. The APC has however denied both allegations, insisting that what was announced by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was a reflection of the wises of the people. ACE said that the election was rigged scientifically by INEC, at the point of collation of results but failed to mention which party benefited from the alleged rigging. But the group, which described the development as replica of the elections conducted in 2003 and 2007, under the administration of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, warned against the repeat of such exercise in the forth coming governorship election in Ondo State.
At a press conference, in Abuja, on the report of its observation of Edo State governorship election, addressed by its acting General Secretary, Mma Odi, the group said that the Edo election saw a new innovation in rigging, regretting that the development took the country to the dark days of the military era. It alleged that to perfect this act, the electoral umpire deliberately delayed collation of results of election till 10pm, where the inglorious act was carried out in the night and advised against playing partisan role in its responsibilities. “This election has brought in new innovations to the rigging of elections. You make the election to appear very nice during voting and all that but when it concerns collating, they were highly innovative. Which means we are getting higher in technological advancement.” But reacting to allegation that the Edo governorship election was rigged in favour of APC, the party’s acting Publicity Secretary, Mr Timi Frank, said it was a wild allegation without substance. He said that the APC won the election as a sign of appreciation for the development of Edo State for the past eight years by the leadership of Governor Adams Oshiomhole. Speaking on a telephone interview, Mr Frank said that the development in Edo will repeat itself in the forth coming governorship election in Ondo State given that the people of the state were disenchanted with the governance of Governor Segun Mimiko. Meanwhile in Benin, accredited election observers under the aegis of Public Interest Association, that monitored governorship election in the state, has called for the cancellation of the results, saying that it was a charade and does not reflect the wishes of Edo people. Addressing newsmen in Benin, yesterday, National Coordinator Mrs Esther Bassey, said that the results released by INEC, was an indication of a commission that has become partisan and has compromised itself to avoid an inconclusive exercise. According to the observers, “We demand for an immediate cancellation of the September 28, 2016 governorship election in Edo State because such charade exercise has already put the peace and unity of the state in jeopardy as the results released by a partisan and compromised INEC does not in any way reflect the wishes of the people of the state. “The results released shows that INEC was indeed under pressure to avoid further inconclusive elections in Nigeria as many inconclusive elections nowadays have already painted the commission on a negative note before Nigerians, hence the careful allocation of votes to political parties and declaration of a winner without consideration of the peoples’ feeling.” Also reacting to the report, the APC, through its State Publicity Secretary, Godwin Erhahon said “The observers need to be abreast with the rules and regulations governing elections in the country that once results are announced, only the election petition tribunal can reverse results of the election. “Even though the opposition are complaining of rigging, we are also complaining that the margin with which we defeated them is too narrow because in 2012, we defeated them with over 70 percent. I advised the aggrieved parties to go to the tribunal and we shall meet them there.” Meanwhile, PDP State Publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, in his reaction, said, “The statement by the local observers has not only vindicate our stand on the conduct of the election but also the stand and views of Edo People who actually voted on the day of the election. They are the ones whose mandate was stolen. We will get it back for them.’’ “We had previously alerted the world to the day light robbery supervised by the security operatives, organised by INEC with Governor Oshiomhole and his APC as the beneficiaries. We told the world that the details of the results released by INEC are fake and not the figures announced at various units and as collated at various wards across the state. The fake results announced by INEC are entirely a fabrication which does not reflect the true picture of what transpired during the election.

Mr Buhari was elected last year on a promise to tackle corruption but has struggled to manage Africa’s largest economy and stave off the deep fiscal crisis. Underlying that has been his deep aversion to the IMF, with which he clashed in the 1980s when he ran the country as a military ruler before he was toppled in a coup amid a public outcry over conditions set by the fund in a bailout.

The rigging of elections, the persecution of opposition figures, the demonisation of dissenters, the destruction of the economy, the pauperisation of our people, the introduction of famine, the humiliation of Nigerians coupled with violence, impunity, aggression, intolerance and tyranny: that is all President Muhammadu Buhari and his government have served our people since he was sworn in on May 29th 2015.
The last one year and four months have been the worst since independence in terms of the violation of human rights, civil liberties and court orders by our government.

We have witnessed unprecedented mass murder, butchery, carnage and barbarity by well-armed and highly favored Fulani herdsmen and ethnic militias coupled with genocide and unprecedented extra-judicial killings by our military personnel and state security forces.

We have witnessed the resurrection of Abubakar Shekau and the mutation of Boko Haram into two powerful new factions. We have seen them re-take towns and communities that they lost years ago and hoist their dirty black flag in parts of the north-east.
Our government have given up on the Chibok girls and we witnessed the humiliation, insults and physical harassment by security forces that those who have fought for their return in the BBOG group have been subjected to in the last few months.

This got me thinking

Indeed this President Buhari has succeeded in killing the sick dog.
