temb: August 4th this year would make it exactly one year I finished Nysc and since then started serious job hunting and yet no job. I seem not to know where the problems are from, I do apply online on a everyday basis and even offline and at the end of the day not even a test invite. I therefore would love to plead with my experienced job hunters to help me check what exactly I am doing wrong. For the nairaland peeps who would are quick to condemnation and start preaching entrepreneurship and getting a skill, I am a very skilled person in so many versatile areas I.e computer repairs,3D modelling with Autodesk inventor, phone repairs and I'm actually very good with what I do..That's what is currently paying the bills but definitely tired of earning very migre income from the little clients I have. And yes, I'm almost concluding my M.eng programme which I did just not to stay idle and to keep my mind out of the trauma of not having a Job. I sure do hope my testimony comes soonest Not to forget I also send my application with a cover letter...but still nothing. Imagine just only about 5 job test for a whole year. I would also love to use this opportunity to reach out to everybody who can be of help, I'm a very humble and hardworking individual willing to work in anywhere in Nigeria. your skills set and degree are 2 parallel lines and it 's also possible that you are applying for jobs that is not aligned with your skills set, degree and experience. Secondly it appears your Msc was to fulfill all righteousness. It seems to me that you didn't think through the prospects and exactly what you want to do. The best way to use your Msc when you are done is get a lecturing job Finally if you really want to practice met mat, go for professional courses add PMP. |

Those "targeted head hunting" done through the years, is coming back to hunt us. The constitution has already reduced our ability to recruit the best hands into sensitive positions by the federal character, tribalism, favouritism and nepotism has made it worse.
Expect more problems Nigerians, oil will stay at the 50 dollars range for the next one year.

Yian1: You said you raised the interest rate to curb the inflation when much hasn't been done to improve the economy. Every business man is complaining that he doesn't get what he used to get in his business. Raising the interest rate will mostly discourage people getting loans as not much will be gained after deducting your high interest rate from sales. cbn is practising trial and error, they just want to see how the market will react. But I think it's foolishness. We are losing FX, and they are shouting let increase our exports. The best way to increase Fx is to export processed products, but Nigeria has been exporting raw materials. Now how will a manufacturer assess loan and set up a factory to process raw materials to finished products with this exchange rate, don't forget that if the commercial banks are get it at 14%, they will give it out at 20 upwards % Who suffers this? the poor masses, Recession is looming, tighten your belt... State government can't even pay salaries again, fg is looking for another tax to introduce … Cluelessness that we have been prophesing is here |

They could just spend the money, after reservoir studies, then they can tell if the business will be viable, else drilling production wells in chad will be waste of funds, i will advise them to leave chad for another 20 -50years and run 3D seismic every 5 - 10 yrs and study the reservoir. |

Avengers have the support of their community, unlike bokoharam.stop wasting scarce resources chasing shadows. Dialogue with these people and end all these wastages. Kachikwu proposed dialogue, some people from the North met buhari in UK when he went for treatment not to dialogue. That they will raise people, ex military men from North, ex militants now loyal to APC to fight, together with military. That is why Kachikwu got removed. Buhari is also strongly informed to start make oil exploration in bida and chad is completed for the North before his tenure is over. That is the grand plan But Watch and see … how it will play out. FuckTheMods: hi guys. I'm gradually becoming apprehensive over my career issues. I graduated from high school a decade of years ago (2006) while i was 16 and since i'm from an indigent family i had to set aside school issues and had to engage on some petty hustling in other to save up funds for school. Though the path has been laden with rough terrains and it hasn't been easy but God finally opened a sponsor for me who would be financially responsible for my academics. Now the Crux of the issue is that i just recently clocked 26 years and has just been admitted into the University and since employers of the Labour market these days do favour those that are 25 years below which wouldn't spell good fortunes to me, i had to choose a course in the faculty of education (c.r.s) since it doesnt regard age stuff. My question is as old as i am at 26 is there any slight hope of becoming a professor or at least a lecturer. after my graduation, i'd forward to Masters and eventually Ph.d. Though its gonna take years. Pls by then how old would you think i'll be a prof or a lecturer and is there any hope of starting and building up a career at an advance age of 26? Blog reader ask about HSE (Health Safety and Environment) as a career path.I am Immanuel, saw ur email on nairaland under career 8 (HSE).
First andforemost, I really want to commend you for your kind advices and insight about the field of HSE. Please would love to venture into this field only that I want to know whether is better to study HSE in postgrduate or enrol for the NEBOSH exam.
I would love you to advice me on the one that is preferable and would also want to get a copy of the nebosh past questions and answers with any other relevant materialthat you think will be of help to me.
Thanks very much for your time as I expectantly await your response. Ideologies Foundation response:Hello Immanuel, HSE as a career path, is one of most trending professions anywhere in the world, as their services are needed in every industry.
As regards to your question, in my opinion, having a PG degree would be cool if you have experience in the profession, as experience counts more than the degree certificate in recent times.
Furthermore, most recruiters will also be interested to know if you have professional certifications in this field. Professional certifications is one of the requirements to get a good offer in the industry.
I suggest you go for the certification course, after during which you will meet other captains in the industry, network and get internship positions, even if it is not a paid internship. As the 6 months – 1 year experience can give you the jump start you need for a successful career.
With regard to the materials, I will forward them to you soonest to you soonest
