Pogba is not the first Muslim sportsperson to openly display their reluctance towards promoting or being involved in any celebration involving alcohol. England cricketers Moeen Ali and Rashid Khan fled from champagne celebrations, when England lifted the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Pogba on numerous ocassion has expressed his religious belief, with the latest being during the holy month of Ramadan, when the midfielder went on to continue with a Europa League tie despite being on fast. He has also publicly stated that he doesn't consume alcohol in any form.

smiley Islam, the only standard that keeps me safe in the world. Total Guidance from Allaah, The Most High.
Absolute insincerity and hypocrisy!!!! I would like to see Pogba reject the money which comes from sell of Heineken. He should take his religion out of the sport by quitting.

The people of southern Nigeria are blessed with natural endowment including a very rich soil. However the most of them are goons who had been brainwashed to think their issue is all about Ndigbo by the insidious mechanism planted by the British. The southern Nigeria can grow any produce in abundance. Yet the goons want to buy tomato and onions from farmers in northern region of Nigeria.

If Lagos can do all this stuff without seceding from Nigeria, why can't OnItsha?

Why can't Onitsha build an 'Eko Atantic' of the East?

If all the money spent by IPOB in its dumb agitation was used for attracting major investments to the East, by now the entire East would have been a construction site.

Just like Lagos. angry
You did not disprove those who claimed Nigeria is a basket of fools. Lagos was a capital of Nigeria and received unimaginable parks from federal government of Nigeria. Onitsha has never been either capital of Nigeria, Region or State. There was no part of Lagos torched during Nigeria/Biafra war. Owerri is not a state of its own in Imo state; a well educated governor of Imo state needs to lay more emphasis on infrastructure for the other urban areas in Imo state but maintain what already exists in Owerri. But for lousy and primitive people in a part of Imo state, Imo governors must ignore urban development infrastructures in the other urban areas of Imo state, but pump all government funds into making Owerri look like London overnight.
Methinks, some of you from Owerri like to have a continuation of Rochas Okorocha’s style where more than 90% devt infrastructures of his government in 8 years were built in Owerri. Okorocha was trying to use what he was building in Owerri for his campaign to become president of Nigeria.

FreedomWinsNow:
Nigerian Army, Police Kill Father Of Two Attending Funeral, Parade His Corpse As Unknown Gunman

Police and Nigerian Army operatives have shot dead a 48-year-old father of two, Ifeanyi Obi, who was attending a funeral in Owerri, Imo State.

He was shot dead during a raid by the security operatives.

SaharaReporters gathered that Obi, a shoe manufacturer based in Aba, Abia State, rather than being arrested and properly interrogated, was shot dead at the scene by the security agencies, his attire was stripped off him and he was paraded alongside others as an unknown gunman belonging to the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Sources and residents familiar with the incident told SaharaReporters that the victim hailed from Oguta in Imo State but resided in Aba, Abia, and it was the funeral that brought him home – he had nothing to do with the crisis in Imo. He was shot dead while still in the attire he wore to the event.

A top security source said, “The deceased was a prospering shoe manufacturer at Powerline Women's Shoes Market in Ariaria Market, Aba. You can go and verify from his fellow traders. He was married with two kids. He had travelled to his hometown in Oguta for a funeral alongside his in-law who is married to his sister.

“That was on Friday, June 4, and two days after, on Sunday, June 6, they boarded a bus to Aba and on getting to Alvan Ikoku College of Education area in Owerri, there were rains of gunshots. The driver hurriedly discharged all passengers and asked them to find their way to safety and the passengers ran in different directions, including Ifeanyi and his in-law who ran in separate directions.

“It was where Ifeanyi ran to and was taking refuge and dodging the flying bullets that soldiers stormed and shot him dead instantly. His corpse was picked up and the trousers he wore were removed.”

SaharaReporters learnt that the army and police took all the persons shot dead at the scene to the police command headquarters in Owerri.

“The next thing was that his corpse was paraded later by the security operatives with a gun placed on him as one of 'the five unknown gunmen or Eastern Security Network (ESN) or Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members killed during an exchange of gunfire' while attempting to attack the Imo State Police Headquarters. We were so infuriated. How could the army and police do this? Is it because the dead don’t speak?” another source queried.

SaharaReporters had on Saturday also exposed how the police and the army in carrying out mass raids and arrests of South-East residents shot dead some of the suspects, allegedly labelled as gunmen terrorising the region.

SaharaReporters had obtained the photographs of two of the victims, who were living in Umuahia, Abia State, whom residents confirmed to be part of them and not unknown gunmen as they were labelled by the police and the army.

The first victim had been identified as Obinna Ejekwu, 30 years old, and Onyebuchi Amadi, 27 years old.

Both men were killed by the security operatives on May 29 and thereafter labelled as ESN members.

“Rather than using intelligence-based crime detection and investigation to go after criminal elements, the Nigerian security forces are let loose on unarmed and defenceless Igbo citizens, hatefully targeting and killing them and labelling them as terrorists,” the source who released the photographs to SaharaReporters had lamented.

A civil society organisation, the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, said it called on the international community not to fold their arms amid the “silent massacre” going on in the South-East region but must prevail on the Nigerian government to respect the rule of law and sanctity of life.

Simple and short.

Freedom doesn't come free but through blood and war.
If igbos truely want a biafran nation they should all leave other parts of nigeria and head back to the south east, block all entry into the region and declare a full war on their hausa/fulani enemy..... the south west and Yoruba's should completely stay out of it for both parties to battle it out.

If the biafrans win, they should be given the whole SE/SS and allowed to leave.

If the hausa/fulani win, half of the SE should be given to the hausa/fulani to be used as Ruga settlement and replace all Igbo rulers with emirs from the north.

Igbos are a brave tribe(at least that's what they tell us) and all biafran boys under the age of 18 should join the biafra army and Nnamdi kanu should be allowed by buhari to come back and lead his people into war.

Igbos are known billionaires and anambra has the highest number of billionaires (source: emeka) so funding the war will not be a big deal for them.

Combine Igbo wealth and bravery....and they're sure of winning the war. A great tribe can never loose a war twice within a century.
You are one reason among many reasons Nigeria is called basket of fools. Yes freedom does not come free however it does not always come with blood and war as you would want us believe. Your so-called founding fathers of Nigeria did not fight any war to gain freedom.

Politics › Re: Biafra Or Ikenga? 20 Reasons Why Ikenga Republic Will Set Igbos Apart Globally by Idiko1: 10:50pm On Jun 11, 2021
spearman:
Biafra Republic or Ikenga Republic? 20 Reasons Why Ikenga Republic Will Set the Igbos Apart Globally -By Azuka Onwuka

If you are giving a lecture to a group of Nigerians of different ethnic backgrounds and notice that they are feeling sleepy, just mention Biafra and everybody will become alert. Biafra means so many things to different parts of Nigeria. Many Nigerians are quick to oppose Biafra without even knowing why they are doing so. Only the Igbos are passionate about it.

But what does Biafra mean? Who coined it? One big complaint many people give against the name Nigeria is that it means nothing and was coined by a European. Similarly, Biafra was coined by Europeans (the Bight of Biafra), and means nothing in Igbo language.

But Ikenga is fully Igbo. Ikenga is the symbol of manliness. It is the strength of a man’s right hand. The day a man dies, his Ikenga is cut into two and a part is thrown into his grave. If you destroy a man’s Ikenga, you have killed the man while he is still alive. Ikenga is the symbol of power, bravery, pride and essence of the Igbo man.

Republic of Ikenga therefore means the land of the brave.

It is a name that befits the proposed Igbo nation. It is a name that makes every Igbo person feel proud and strong. It is easy to pronounce and is an Igbo name that is taken from the Igbo cosmology.

With the name Ikenga, it will be a country for Igbos alone, with no other people laying claim to it.

Below are 20 reasons why Republic of Ikenga for Igbos alone is the best thing that will happen to the Igbos:

When the Igbos have their own country like Ikenga Republic, they will no longer be apologetic about their Igboness. They will no longer be too cautious to avoid being called over-ambitious, overbearing, or aggressive.
They can speak and promote their Igbo language all over the world, including using it to address the United Nations or African Union
The patriotism of the citizens will be sky-high as they will be willing to even die for their country unlike now when nobody is ready to die for Nigeria except under compulsion.

Igbos all over the world will be ready to come back or send their resources home to help build the country
Merit will be the bedrock of the country. So competition will help the country to develop fast.

There will be no focus on natural resources; rather the key focus will be on human resources, which will make the country grow fast
Science and technology and commerce will be promoted, making the country a force to reckon with globally.

Christianity will be the main religion; therefore there won’t be any clash of religions and religious killings. However, religion will be separated from governance, making the citizens to practise their religions privately without using them to cause conflicts. Respect for human life will be paramount.

There will be an alliance with Western and Eastern countries that love technology, freedom and capitalism which will aid growth.
It will be a sporting nation, with football being the key sport. The country will excel in global and continental sporting competitions because only the best will be used.

Because of its focus on technology, power supply will be easily available to power all the sectors.

Education will be paramount with high focus on developing the local schools and universities. health. There will be no quota system for admission into schools and universities. So academic excellence will be the order of the day.

The Igbos will not accuse any group of marginalization and no ethnic group will accuse the Igbos of marginalization or domination.
No Igbo will be killed with impunity anymore in any part of the world or have his or her property destroyed for fear that Ikenga Republic will retaliate.

Igbo will become a globally recognized language.

The friction between the Igbos and the Yorubas or Southsouth or the North will disappear, as the Igbos will be seen as foreigners wherever they reside and no longer seen as a threat.

The pride in Igbo culture, language, names, foods, etc will go up, attracting tourists and attention.

Literacy level will rise to 100% as no part of Igbo land will be allowed to scorn education.

Investment level in Igbo land will skyrocket as there will be more patriotic impetus to invest at home and help to boost development.

There will be a high focus on agriculture to avoid being dependent on any country for sustenance.

Finally, the more a people have the same language, same religion, same culture, and same worldview, the less friction they have and the more peaceful and progressive their country is. That is the biggest advantage Republic of Ikenga will have. That is why Europe is the most peaceful and progressive part of the world. Almost every country has its own language. The very few like Switzerland and Belgium with different peoples and languages have created a wonderful system that makes them live in peace.

Ikenga does not compare with Igbo as nationality. Republic of Igboland will compete adequately with England or Scotland. An Igbo from Igboland is lovely. In the other hand, Ikenga is milked from spirituality which does not necessarily represent all the people of Igbo ethnicity in their beliefs.

Politics › Re: REVEALED: Nigerian Army And Police Operatives Detain, Torture South Easterners by Idiko1: 12:16pm On Jun 11, 2021
PeaceforNigeria:
The Nigerian Army in joint operations with the police between April and May have raided and arrested scores of South-East youths, clamping them in underground cells and detention rooms in military barracks, top sources have revealed to SaharaReporters.

Some of the identified military camps are 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Imo State, 82 Division Headquarters, Enugu State, and up north as far as Suleja, Niger State.

“The army and police have a certain NHSS Tactical Squad – whatever that means – which has been arresting the South-East residents, mainly youths, and locking them up in these discreet military underground camps.

“They are labelled as members of the Indigenous People of Biafra members and Eastern Security Network members and denied access to family members and lawyers. I know at least three military detention underground cells, and the squad at will kill some of the detainees, arrange rifles for them and say they died during gun battle,” one of the sources said.

“It was the same NHSS tactical squad which invaded the residence of IPOB lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor last Sunday, and shot dead one of his aides, while three personal workers were taken away. They burnt the car and corpse, leaving no trace. If he was not a popular lawyer, who would report that incident? That is the pattern they adopt in the South-East – abduct, kill and burn corpses,” another source revealed.

SaharaReporters had in the third week of May reported that the Nigerian Army and the police intelligence response team stormed houses in the Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and parts of Owerri and Igwuocha area of Rivers State in a hosue-to-house raid of suspected IPOB and ESN members.

SaharaReporters had also exposed how the Nigerian military had drafted reinforcement troops from some of its formations fighting insurgency in Borno State to join the troops in the South-East region over the military’s clash with IPOB and ESN operatives.

Military sources had confirmed to SaharaReporters that the reinforcements were drawn from some battalions including the 231 Tank Battalion in Biu, Borno State, which is under the 3 Armoured Division, Jos, Plateau State.

“Yes, some troops are moving from the North-East to the South-east as reinforcements. They started moving from Wednesday. Among them are those from the 231 Tank Battalion; they are believed to be more trained in quelling uprisings,” a top source had confirmed.

President Muhammadu Buhari had three weeks ago held a meeting with the service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police at the Presidential villa, Abuja, telling them to adopt certain security measures in the South-East and the South-South geopolitical zones of the country.

A former US Ambassador to Nigeria, John Campbell, had on May 24 condemned by the Inspector-General of the Police, Usman Baba, for clamping down on IPOB and ESN oepratives and violating the rules of engagement.

Campbell had called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the IGP to order in the interest of national unity, while insisting that Operation Restore Peace launched by the police and the military’s clampdown on the IPOB members should be dissuaded by the Presidency in the interest of the peace and unity of the country.

Buhari has failed to heed Campbell’s warning and other advice from national and international quarters.

Politics › Re: Ohanaeze To Buhari, You Have Choice Between Dialogue Or War With Igbo by Idiko1: 11:57am On Jun 11, 2021
MANDIPUTIN:
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Thursday, said President Muhammadu Buhari ‘has a choice between dialogue, on one hand, and an avoidable war against the Igbo, on the other.’

The organisation was reacting to the President’s interview on the Arise TV where he warned that the Igbo “are scattered everywhere in Nigeria with their businesses and property, and should not be making trouble.”

Buhari further said that Ndigbo, having been landlocked, would not be allowed any “access to the outside world by sea.”

According to him, “In any case, we said we will talk to them in the language they will understand. We will organise the police and the army to pursue them; that’s what we can do and we will do it.”

Ohanaeze, in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Alex Ogbonnia, also recalled that on June 1, 2021, while addressing the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the Villa, President Buhari “vowed to shock those bent on destroying” his government.

Ohanaeze, while reiterating its stance in adopting dialogue to Nigeria’s current insecurity, quoted its president-general, Ambassador George Obiozor, on June 4, calling for a ‘dialogue to resolve the present national crises’.

It further said: “With the present level of violence in Nigeria, Nigeria has arrived at a critical juncture. Both history and literature show that the decision taken by a leader at a critical juncture has a lasting effect for the society.

“President Buhari has a choice between Dialogue on one hand and an avoidable War against the Igbo on the other. Again, history shows that our thoughts are very infinitesimal to the immutable Law of the Universe.”

It, however, observed some injustices targeted at Ndigbo to include: “Deliberate posting of northern military and police officers at the various strategic locations in the Southeast; special national security council meeting, where major decisions were taken for the South East and the South South to the utter exclusion of security personnel from the South East.

“Launching of the Operation Restore Peace in the South East and South South; shoot on sight order by the inspector general of police targeted at the Igbo youths. And the shock Twit where Mr President stated that ‘those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”

The statement added: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo has cautioned that the unprecedented lopsidedness of the Nigerian government in favour of the Fulani, to the exclusion of other ethnic groups, especially in the security architecture, will rather exacerbate the internal security challenges in the country.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo believes that the agitation by the Igbo youth over marginalization is justified. In spite of the orchestrated alienation of the Igbo, we are committed to a diplomatic approach towards a restructured Nigeria that guarantees equity, fairness and rule of law.”

Until there is another round of war in Nigeria, those who foolishly thought their region won Nigeria/Biafra war by themselves will not be wise. Is it not foolhardy for the so-called president of Nigeria to publicly insinuates that Ndigbo do not have access to the sea? Anyway, I do not blame the dumbass fool. The moronic jackass would have been dead from malnutrition if the Yoruba and ill-informed ethnic nationalities in the southern region of Nigeria did not pitch tent with northern region in 1967. There was no way in hell northern region could have scratched eastern region in firefight without the help of those who rallied around Gowon and northern political elites. The Fulani and Kanuri used the dingbat called Gowon to achieve today's Nigeria. Where is Gowon with all the instances of insecurity in the shithole called Nigeria?

It is a breath of fresh air to see Ohanaeze has woken up from idiotic political slumber.

Wicked. What school did you attend that taught you this falsehood?
It’s like you people don’t have conscience as you preach this your Imo governors developing Owerri megalopolis thing while the rest of Imo state dry up.
How about let Owerri wait for government to develop Abuja to grow and expand to Owerri forming one Abuja Metropolitan areas including Owerri? Some of you need correctional services. To blame are the last three governors of Imo state who deformed the devt pattern of the state set out by Mbakwe. These governors are like they’re schooled to believe that only state capital deserve government attention in a state.

I used to go to the state library in Owerri opened by then Enugu based East Central State government, for example. But since Imo state got created from East Central State, no state library has been allowed to exist outside Owerri. No tertiary education institution, no ministry, nothing owned by government in Imo state was allowed to exist or survive outside Owerri. Why, why, why??
I guess silence is the best act to hide ignorance. You are the person whose merit of schooling raises serious doubts. Abuja had a special care by the federal government of Nigeria. Why have your dumbass village not attract the same attention as Abuja from federal government of Nigeria?

Nnamdi Kanu is accusing buhari of refusing to allow igbos have referendum. To freely express themselves and choose wether to stay in Nigeria or go their separate ways.

You want freedom to choose sides, but you threaten to kill any igbo person that comes out on the day you ordered.

So Igbo's have no right to decide if to sit at home or not , but you want to be given referendum.

The fraudster if given the opportunity will be worse than Buhari and Abachas.

Well, he is after his pocket and not Biafra.
You have always proved to be a Nigerian among the ones from the basket of fools. I guess your nutty brain cannot differentiate an order from a referendum.

Hahaha. You just read my mind. They kept saying our being more educated and developed was because lagos was a former state capital. Whereas before Lagos, capital was once in the south-south, calabar to be precise. The relics of Lugard and Flora Shaw are still there till today. From there to Lokoja and later Zungeru( northern colonial HQ) before Lagos. All these places never experienced development in spite if the federal presence. Amazingly, they all had waterways too, except Zumgeru. Finally, was moved to Abuja...yet all these regions aren't as economically viable as Yorubaland. Academically, we've got no match.

They always say ibos in lagos made it so develop as it is, as if there are no ibos in calabar, lokoja, Abuja, zungeru and other parts of Nigeria too. In kano alone, they're in millions, not to talk of kaduna.

We have the zeal and passion for progress even up to the national level. Most of the federal government ideas today were our initiatives. Yoruba anyday!
Yoruba have never being more educated in Nigeria and will never be. The British brought Sierra Leoneans and Igbo to assist in the day to day administration of Lagos. The returnees decided to call Lagos their home. Based on the population of free-slaves, returnees, the Yoruba as usual loudmouthed themselves into believing the "More educated" crap.

Story, Since most IPOB members are trying to handover one of the Best tribes in Africa to a tactless blogger and podcaster... I don't think we deserve to be number one, replace it Fulani (those guys are practically taking turns in over 300 tribes bums)
Are talking the Fulani who were defeated during the Akagbe War at the Udenu and Igbo Eze axis? There is nothing such as Fulani in the current episode but Nigerian armed forces doing the bidding for them because of the silly head of state.
