PoliticsRe: Tinubu Blasts FG Over The State Of Roads Nationwide by idnole4(m): 4:59pm On Oct 13, 2011
Mortiple:
Like someone rightly pointed out, neither Tinubu nor Fashola nor Lagos State Govt has moral right to condemn FG over poor state of our roads as virtually over 90% of roads in their own domain are in very bad shape.  There are dead traps called roads all over Lagos whereby human lives are lost, vehicles are damaged, valuable times are wasted on them daily.  Yes, Federal roads are bad but are roads in Lagos better? No!

Tinubu, Fashola, GEJ and their cohorts should continue to mess around, one thing is certain, REVOLUTION IS LOOMING!!!  It's is just a matter of time.
really i would be glad if you can give some statistics to back your claim, the question is why is the fg not fixing important roads (that belongs to it) despite the enormous revenue its derives from crude oil?

It’s up to us all to put this Presidential and Gubernatorial genie back into the bottle but are we prepared?
are we actually prepared, not only to change this people but to silence and dump them all into the dusbin of history? can we keep these genies (demons) that are ruling this nation, "into the bottle"? forget the grammer, we should ponder this question if we really want Nigeria to develop,

PoliticsRe: Falomo Bridge A Waste Of Money? by idnole4(m): 3:37pm On Oct 07, 2011
PointB:
Not a waste of money, rather a seemingly classic case of embezzlement of tax-payers money, and letdown of people's trust and faith.

This is one project that should be scrutinized. Fashola has a lot of explaining to do!
jacobs123:
The bridge is a waste if you ask me but I've been wrong so many times.
Let's wait 6 months maximum and we'ld all know if we just wasted 2.5bn.
We've waited so many years, 6 months is just around the corner, God willing.
philippao:
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Wednesday, commissioned the N2.5 billion Falomo On–Ramp Bridge.
At the commissioning of the 115-metres long bridge, Fashola explained that the project, executed in collaboration with Lekki Concession Company, LCC, under a Public Private Partnership, was aimed at easing traffic gridlock in Lagos Island.
He said the project, which was constructed by LCC, was the first of such magnitude and specification to be built anywhere in the country.
Fashola said: ”This is a deliverable of the 30-year PPP in 2006, pursuant to which the company is already rehabilitating and upgrading approximately 50 kilometres of the Eti-Osa Lekki–Epe Expressway and will also construct 20 kilometres of the Coastal Road.

My question now is "Is this construction well planned and sited? Can this Bridge solve the traffic congestion along that road? Don't you think that the money used for this bridge would have been enough to construct the bridge across the water?"
Full story here<>http://philiponyia..com/2011/10/falomo-bridge-waste-of-money.html
Why cant we just simply appreciate this man called Fashola, even if this bridge will only solve 5% of traffic problem in Lagos State, it still very much worth it. What has the federal government does for the state despite the fact that the state is the commercial nerve of Nigeria?

ABIA GANG RAPE: ABSU DEAN THREATENS COURT ACTION
Nigerians woke up to the shocking news of a young lady alleged to be a student of Abia State University [ABSU] who was ganged raped by five young men believed to be students of the same institution.

Channels Television investigations reveals that the alleged rape never took place in the Abia State University, Uturu, and some of the students said that they are not aware of the heinous act.

In a telephone interview with Channels Television, the Police Public Relations officer of Abia State, Mr Jeffrey Ogbonna debunked the story, saying that he called the divisional police officer of the university who equally refuted reports of such an act taking place within the four walls of the university.

The dean of student affairs, Abia State University, Dr Ude Nkwokeocha also speaking to Channels Television said that the institution is ready to take legal action on any news agency that does not withdraw the story, wondering why a rumour which has been making the rounds for the past two months would now be linked to ABSU, saying that some mischief makers are out to tarnish the good image of the institution.

The alleged video of five boys believed to be students of the Abia State University gang raping a helpless girl has been an internet and news sensation for almost two weeks.

The assailants took turns to sexually abuse her in a university dormitory after promising to take her home. Each time she tries to stand up, they push her back down.

Local authorities have dismissed the 10-minute video, which first surfaced on the internet and has been distributed among different individuals and news agencies.

The Abia State governor, Theodore Orji refuted the rape reports, describing them as “satanic falsehood” and “tissue of lies”.

The governor, who made his feelings known when receiving in audience the officials of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), described the media reports of the purported rape as the handiwork of mischievous elements bent on discrediting both the university, and the state at large.

‘’This nonsense is the handiwork of our enemies. Nothing like such evil took place in Abia. It is our enemies who posted the evil report on the internet to paint Abia black. Abia is not known for such atrocity,’’ Orji boiled.

He therefore enjoined the general public to disregard the report which he described as unholy, satanic and very embarrassing.

What kind of leaders do we have in this country? Why can't they investigate the incidence rather than describing a video evidence of rape as false? I can't still believe this.

I'm sure Ajimobi doesn't just leave whatever he earned in a bank account somewhere, he would have invested, engaged in good businesses and of course he has two companies as stated in the declaration. So, he might have earned much of his wealth legitimately.

He has done a good thing by declaring his assets. I hope other governors declare their assets too.

Even those that are not club girls are into it  embarassed

On a 2wks work-stay in Abj, I met a secretary at the office we were based. She was a pretty young lady. I actually met her once, and we exchange pleasantries. No phone numbers, only names. I was alwys in this office where I do not have to pass through the secretary's office. So, for more than a week we did not see each other.

One evening, two days before I was to leave Abuja, I got a ring at my hotel door. On opening the door, alas, it was this lady. I asked her in. I asked her how she got to know the hotel I was staying. She stole the information from her oga, or something. Then one thing led to the other and we had sex. After the sex, she began to tell me stories about how she needs to pay her school fees of almost 50k. Men I sacrifice 10k oooo,

Imagine how many victims like me she would have cajoled into this thing. Thank God I protect myslef! I fear Abj babes.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I should get your view on this topic. Am a marketing executive in an energy company and meet a lot of peole including foreigners due to the nature
Of my job. am in a relationship with an arab presently, a lebanese.
I truly luv him. This man is like the most kind-hearted man on the planet.he's an
Engineer and was born in nigeria. He speak yoruba fluently (though am igbo and teaching him the language
Too. Am learning arabic myself).
Now the issue is that it is popular knowledge that arabs don't
Marry black women. They can be very racist too and some of them see
Black women only as sex objects. My man's friends think this way but my man
Has never given me a reason to to believe that he's a racist. He respects me completely.
But still am worried becos my other arab friends who I have spoken too tell me that an arab marrying
A black woman is almost like a taboo. Is this true?
you are on a very tough road. prepare to face the great challenges ahead even if your bf married you (there chances are he may not). think wise, see beyond this moment,

U should really do the noble thing here, since u know the bf loves her so much, it's unfair to see him suffer. U have to sleep with him to even the score, that way everybody has sinned and would need forgiveness.
Do you really meant this as an advice?

@poster. You've done your part by giving advice. And, if thats not enough to make your friend realize what she was doing wasn't the right thing, just stay out of it completely.
