Buddists even have a growing convert population thanks to the popularity and new western craze with meditation, yoga poses and breathing exercises etc that has increased it's appeal. I never said there are no converts to the two aforementioned religions. Are u now using al Taqiyya..jk . Anyway that's besides the point. Proffdada: I got to a thread and to contribute this is what I saw I believe people are meant to express their opinions without forcing a religion on them. I've never seen this on any Christian or Atheist topics but it's a shame this has come to nairaland. if privacy was set on every thread then it'll be a house divided Its a censorship style designed to keep Muslims happy. Angry Muslims blow things up & behead folks; and we don't want that, do we. Anyway read this Islam has plenty of fanatics who have been constantly threatening fellow Nairalanders, mods and Seun himself with violence and death due to their inability to cope with rational discourse. The Islam section was created to quarantine those fanatics and keep them isolated from the majority of sane people who just want to talk about religion without having to deal with death threats. The general religion section is open to everybody, Muslims included, its not just for Christians alone. This is a major reason it is so vibrant be cause everybody brings their own point of view, falsehood and irrationality gets challenged and everybody gets to learn something by reading it. Compare that to the Islam section which is a boring echo chamber rehashing the same tired nonsense over and over like a North Korean news program. The place is a empty wasteland and the only time anything exciting happens there is when a non-Muslim sneaks in to challenge them. Creating a christian section is a bad idea because it is likely to meet the same fate and since Christians are far far less likely to kill Seun and the mods, its really not necessary. The reason they want their own section is because they are tired of being destroyed by secular logic and they want to be able to stifle discussion and post, what is essentially, spam unopposed. This directly against the whole essence of a discussion forum and there is no reason why anybody should humor them. The Muslims get a section because the harbour plenty of violent fanatics and Seun doesn't want to die. Whenever Christians start killing people again, maybe then they can get a section. |

First they told her she inherited Adam's sin therefore is not worthy.
They told her she was conceived with sin therefore not worth.
They told her she is not worthy of love, that she is a sinner that is terrible and needs saving.
Therefore a guy had to come to die to save her. .
All these guilts were imbedded into her as a child therefore creating an adult who thinks herself unworthy, broken and a sin.
It was not her fault at all, she was just another victim of mental child abuse. Oh stop taunting An2elect2. Hope u know Christianity is a religion that has a very large number of converts and not people born into it(such as Hinduism and Islam). 1. Why and how many times we circumvent it is in holy Bible... do research On it.. i won't tell you. Pls don't associate your Islamic paganism with the bible. I tot u Muslims say its corrupted, then why are u running to it for defence even when no defense for ur paganism exists in it. 2. Why we bow towards it is because we were ordered by our creator to. in my own reason, maybe because it's in the center of the Earth or maybe because it's the first mosque built in this world.. Abraham built it U say ur creator tells u to bow to it. U say ur creator is Islamic allah but ur Islamic allah is not God, we aware Christians know he is of satan. God will never tell his children to worship a man made object. Google exodus 20: 1-5. By the way the world is a sphere and has no Center only dumb Muslims who think the world is flat as mohammed claimed and hence has a Center. The first mosque ever built was done by 7th century Muslims. 3. The black stone is also in Bible.. visit shahydcharming. and read everything on black stone. I won't visit ur silly site. You are a pagan because you worship Jesus. and we muslims follow Jesus teachings more than you Christians. . Islam has no room for paganism. Islam teaches us everything about paganism.. that quran you see so, it can answer any kind of question that's because it's the last testament and that makes it the compilation of every holy book. satisfied? Islam can't even answer questions or give Good advice on beastality https://www.nairaland.com/2286788/why-does-islam-permit-having#33292809Or remarrying ur divorced wife https://www.nairaland.com/2286030/islam-sucks-how-remarry-woman/1#33292702 or protecting the girl child from paedophile muslim men. Jesus is God's son and ONE with God and God. 1.He was worshipped(MATTHEW 28:17-18), Only God deserves Worship 2.He forgave Sins(Luke 5:24), Only God can forgive sins 3. He declared that He was before Abraham was(John 8:58), He was with Godhead before the foundation of the World(John 17:5), even John the Baptist(Yahya) declared that Jesus was before him(John 1:29-30) Christians are monotheists , same as Jews. jamillion: Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters in islam
Alhamdulillah… All thanks and praise are due to the Almighty Allah. I send peace and blessings upon Ḥabībī Muḥammad, his household, his companions and all those who follow his guided path till judgement day.
Every one of us has endeavours through which he achieves his dreams. Some dreams are achieved by making important and crucial decisions. Being wise may not always lead to making a decisive, and possibly a correct decision. However, being divinely guided ensures a successful endeavor, with a pleasant and satisfying outcome, no matter what the challenge you have to experience. That’s exactly the reason why Istikhārah prayer was prescribed.
This article presents almost all you need to know about Istikhārah prayers. It defines Istikhārah prayer. It presents when and how it’s performed, the way the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam taught his companions to perform it. It also discusses what you can expect after you’ve performed your Istikhārah. How you get the response for your Istikhārah is also highlighted. The article also discusses the relationship between Istikhārah and dreams. Ever wondered if you can ask someone to do it for you? Keep reading!
What Is Istikhārah?
The word Istikhārah is an Arabic word which means “seeking guidance in choosing the best.” In Islam, we are encouraged to perform Ṣalāh al-Istikhārah when we are about to commit to an activity, affair or any matter of importance to us. It’s an optional, but a divine way to seek guidance in choosing the best out of what one is about to engage himself in.
Istikhārah doesn’t keep you away from challenges and may not bar you from encountering some painful experiences and challenges. It rather helps you to choose the challenge that is the most blessed and most fruitful. It protects from the more painful experience to the less painful, should one has to encounter any painful experience.
The Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam gave emphasis to Istikhārah to the companions. As it’s important, though non-obligatroy, he made some time to teach them how to perform it, similar to the way he taught them reciting chapters of the Qur’an.
When is Istikhārah Performed?
We perform Istikhārah when we are about to commit to any permissible activity or affair. For instance, when one is considering committing to a business proposal or partnership, or buying a house in a particular neighbourhood or location, proposing to a person for marriage, or even buying a vehicle, you are encouraged to perform Istikhārah pertaining to that.
One may also perform Istikhārah prayers when he’s planning to go for a holiday, which is not purposefully to commit sins. Istikhārah can also be performed when you have two options to choose from, but unsure which is the best for you. For instance, you are give admission to two different schools, both of which you have great interest in, and hence you can’t decide on which is the best for you.
It’s worth indicating, that we are not entitled nor expected to perform Istikhārah for that, which we are obliged to. For instance, one shouldn’t do Istikhārah whether he should show kindness to his parents and bear his responsibilities as a family member. You shouldn’t be performing Istikhārah before giving charity, or even giving a gift to your loved one. One can’t do Istikhārah pertaining to whether he should pray Ẓuhr on time or delay it, or whether he should stop smoking or she should start donning ḥijab.
Similarly, we don’t have to perform Istikhārah pertaining to acts we are commanded to abstain from. One shouldn’t perform Istikhārah on whether he should buy a stake/share in beer company, or partnership with a company that deals with or promotes usury. There may also be no need for one to perform Istikhārah pertaining to working for a company that mocks Islam, promotes immorality or disallows Muslims to pray or observe their basic religious duties as Muslims.
These are fundamentals in Islam. They are what make us Muslims. It’s for the purpose of ensuring the strength and solidness of these fundamentals, that we are encouraged to perform Istikhārah prayers.
In other words, we perform Istikhārah for several reasons. All of such reasons have to be permissible and free from sins. So, one should ensure he performs his Istikhārah only when he’s about to commit to that which is halāl, and not that which is or associated with harām.
What Before Istikhārah?
It’s important that, before we make the Istikhārah, we consult experts and the experienced, especially whom we trust, regarding our intended endeavour. Once we’ve listened to different opinions which are based on knowledge, experience and more so, based on honesty and trust, with that, we can have a broader perspective about the matter in hand. Thereafter, we can proceed to the next level, which is Istikhārah.
This means, when we want to commit to any worldly or religious affair, we start by thinking about it thoroughly, after which, we consult experts in that field, as well as seek advice from people we trust. After we have reached to the conviction that the affair is good to be considered, we have certainly reached where human capacity can reach. Next… Istikhārah! With Istikhārah, we transfer the files of the matter in hand from human level to the divine level.
Once we’ve come to an agreement on what we can perform Istikhārah for, and what we should do before Istikhārah, let’s take a look at the du’a of Istikhārah followed by its meaning in English: Du’a of Istikhārah
“O Allah, I seek Your guidance [in making a choice] by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power, I have none. And You know, I know not. You are the Knower of hidden things. O Allah, if in Your knowledge, this matter is good for me both in this world and in the Hereafter, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if in Your knowledge it is bad for me and for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs, then turn me away from it, [and turn it away from me], and ordain for me the good wherever it may be and make me pleased with it.”
Once the Istikhārah (the final stage) is done, go ahead with the affair… If it’s good (for you) and meant for you, the doors will open, widely and broadly, for you. If it’s not, you won’t go further. And Allah will open doors of which is the best for you.
Also, upon looking at the du’a of Istikhārah, which the Prophet is teaching us (his Ummah) to supplicate when we intend to commit to any affair, either pertaining to our worldly affairs or related to our Hereafter, we understand that, although we humbly pray and submit requests before Him subḥānahū wa ta‘ālā, and although we have to put in all the effort required for the project/affair, for which this prayer is been performed, we leave things up to Him to decide the best for us. What is best for us may not match our perceptions. So once you are done with the Istikhārah, go ahead with the matter, for which you’ve performed the Istikhārah, with a heart filled with trust in Allah’s Choice for you.
Istikhārah and Dreams
There’s a perception that, when one performs Istikhārah, he should wait for some sort of response which should likely come through dreams. But the truth is, good dreams are good, and bad dreams are bad, but they may not be good or bad based on our perception, or based on the scenarios we see them in. This means, a dream that seems good may not necessarily be so, and that which seems bad may not necessarily be bad.
Moreover, I’m afraid; some dreams that one may see, may be due to the psychological impact (eagerness or fear) of the affair, rather than an answer for Istikhārah.
However, if someone else sees dream (be it good or bad) related to his Istikhārah, then, that may be a kind of honour for him, but it’s not a requirement related to Istikhārah, as far as the common Muslims are concerned.
Thus, when you do Istikhārah, keep your expectations of dreams out of your mind. That way, you free yourself from all sorts of illusions.
Doing Istikharah on Behalf of Someone
One of the common questions that arise regarding to Istikhārah is, “can I ask someone to do Istikhārah on my behalf?” Well… there’s no evidence that you can’t ask someone to do Istikhārah on your behalf. But I wonder why can’t one spare some time to humble himself before His Lord, pertaining to matters that matter a lot to him, more than it matters to anyone else? If one can’t impress Allah by humbling himself before Him, I wonder who else would be in the position to do that better, for him?
In the bid to escape humbling oneself before Allah, one may say to himself, “I’m sinful, and it’s better to get a pious person to do it for me.” Piety is not measured by assumptions. In addition to that, the sense of guilt, and the thoughts that one is sinful are all indications of piety. Would you be glad if someone was to tell you that your du‘as (supplications) are not accepted due to your sins and impurity? Why then, do you say that same thing to yourself?!
In addition to that, the Prophet was the most pious of his time. And it was he, who taught the companions to perform Istikhārah pertaining to their worldly and religious (Ākhirah) affairs. We know that, the companions were not angels. And no doubt, they did perform Istikhārah from time to time, but not even once was it reported that any of them went up to the Prophet, asking him to perform Istikhārah on his behalf. Let’s take the Prophet and his companions as our examples, and we will be in a better position before Allah.
If one is really ashamed of his sins–and who among us is free from sins?, the suggestion is that he repents to Allah, purifies himself and then proceeds with his Istikhārah. Allah’s doors are always open to repentants. Thus, do not deceive yourself, by keeping it away from His mercy.
Having said that, one can make Istikhārah for, but not solely on behalf of, someone who’s under his custody or care (wilāyah). For instance, a child who’s going to the college or university may make Istikhārah for himself. In addition to that, one or both of his parents may make it for him too, as he’s their responsibility. Similarly, a child can make Istikhārah pertaining to whom is proposing to her or who he is proposing to. And one or both of his parents may join him or her to make Istikhārah for that same matter, because he or she is under the custody or care of their parents at that point of time. Alhamdullilah
Assalamu alaikum. They believe a fraud who even says he can't guide anyone. Surah 72:21: Say, “I possess no power to harm you, nor to guide you.” (Khalifa) “It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to the Right Path.” (Hilali-Khan) Do you really understand the gravity of Muhammad’s statement when he said, “I possess no power to guide you” or “to bring you to the Right Path”? But he has the desire to kill innocent people. Qur'an 2:191-193 And kill them wherever you find them and turn them out from where they have turned you out Qur'an 3:151 Soon shall we cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, for that they joined companion with Allah Qur’an 8:12— Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): “I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.” Qur’an 9:73—O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.” Qur'an (9:29)-"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." Sura 9:5. "When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them." Bukhari 2:24: Allah's Apostle said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform a that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah." |

They understood it with slight differences. It is non issue at all except that you have ulterior motives. Scholars may have certain parenthesis but that doesnt change the original Arabic meaning of the verse. It's always debatable among scholars not you.

truthman2012: allahh knows by questioning, people's eyes will be opened to the truth. He is talking from experience. Some people left islam by asking reasonable questions.
Did you notice how muslims argue on this forum, even in the face of clear evidences? It is their islamic faith without questioning. The guilty are afraid are being questioned. |

Babacele: Have really done a research on the Holy Quran: the history, the injunctions, the unsubstantiated stories, politics etc just as we find in our Christian Bible? please do ,learn to separate the stories from Gods injunction before coming to public to insult the sensibilities of folks who haven't provoked you. If your aim is pure and altruistic, you would respect others feelings . God sees our hearts oh. Have u read and tried to verify my posts/topic. Its all verses from the quran and authentic Islamic texts. By the way why did u say "our" Christian bible. Are u trying to pass yourself off as a Christian. Laughable. |

Babacele: What is your aim and mission reminding us about this stories on the Holy prophet (PBUH) at this time? to cause resentment, hatred, anger n violence because your initial sinister plan of causing religious stalemate to truncate Nigeria's march to freedom through HE president elect GMB didn't work? Christ see us all and may it be done unto you according to thy wish saTANoid! Are u scared about learning about the deeds of the fraud Mohammad. By the way what does nigerian's new president have to do this topic. I don't do politics my dear. Besides the few times I have commented on nigerian politics I have criticised GEJ and his lacklustre Govt but ur primitive muslim mind equates anti Islam to pro nigerian GEJ. Ignorant Muslims say the dumbest things. |

truthman2012: This is very serious again o!
Muhammad is up to anything when it comes to sex. I wonder why muslims still defend him. What do we expect when allah generously empowered him for 30 women a day.
Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 5, Number 268:
Narrated Qatada: Anas bin Malik said, “The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number.” I asked Anas, “Had the Prophet the strength for it?” Anas replied, “We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men).” And Sa’id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven)
Can you imagine allahh's greatest prophet having sex day and night? Even his followers marveled. It appears his seed was cursed because even after all this sex with dozens of women and slaves he had no male children that survive childhood and his only surviving child Fatima died shortly after him and his male grand kids by Fatima were butchered by Muslims . This is a curse against false prophets in malachi which was pointed out to me by empiree. |
