I was confronted with these questions from a good friend in Amsterdam and out of my impromptu preparation in that regard, I decided to seek your knowledge. The questions are:
How can Christians back up their claims that God actually exist especially for those that don't believe in the Bible. ?
What is the rational evidence that God actually created the world without given biblical evidence. ?
Does Christianity determines one's materialism or is it the bane of the society?
My fellow Christians, it's over to us.

saintmark88: As the Federal Government prepares to make N500bn available for poverty alleviation, Nigerians have been urged not to fall prey to groups which claim to be acting on behalf of the Government only to dupe vulnerable citizens in the process.
The warning came just as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission arrested one Umanah Umanah for allegedly duping several job seekers. The ICPC said in a statement by the Commissioner, Public Enlightenment, Mrs. Rasheedat Okoduwa, that the suspect and members of his syndicate floated a loan scheme tagged, “President Mohammadu Buhari Poverty Alleviation Programme.”
The commission said the fraudulent scheme offered an unspecified number of unemployed Nigerians loans to the tune of N1m on the condition that they pay between N5, 000 and N7, 000 for processing fees and a form.
The statement read in part, “We arrested the ringleader of a fraudulent group that has been swindling unsuspecting Nigerians of their money through a fraudulent loan scheme tagged ‘President Mohammadu Buhari Poverty Alleviation Programme’.
“The scheme under the auspices of Magic Project Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society offered to beneficiaries interest-free and collateral-free loans up to the tune of N1m repayable over a period of 10 years. The beneficiaries had the option of repaying weekly N2, 100 or monthly N8, 400.
“However, to secure this loan, the applicant had to pay for an application form and a processing fee of N7, 000 and N5, 000 respectively.
“Further investigations by ICPC revealed that in spite of the fairly large number of applications over the period of time the group had been operating, not one applicant had received the loan.”
Investigations by the anti-graft agency also indicated that the scheme under the parent name ‘No Burn Global Limited’ was neither registered with any financial institution, the Central Bank of Nigeria nor the Abuja Municipal Area Council and therefore did not have appropriate authorisation to carry out investment or financial services.
“It became obvious that Umanah and his group’s hoodwinking of unsuspecting clients into paying the said sums for the purpose of the supposed loan was the actual target of the whole fraud scheme,” the statement added.
The suspect whose action violates and is punishable under Section 25 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 will be charged to court accordingly.
The ICPC warned members of the public to be wary of dubious individuals and groups.
It urged people to always conduct checks with relevant authorities before committing their resources into business deals that promise fantastic returns.

successpeter: Police job: Most applicants have failed —Arase
•Processing of applications begins in June Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Solomon Arase, has disclosed that most of the over 843, 000 applications received from candidates seeking employment as police recruits will not get the job as they have failed the age limit for applicants. The Police Service Commission (PSC) stipulates 28 years bar in the forms it asked applicants interested in 10, 000 available police jobs to fill in. As of last week Monday, 843, 008 applications had been submitted to PSC and police websites by applicants. Speaking with journalists in Abuja against the backdrop of his first year as IGP, Arase, who is retiring soon, revealed that most of the applicants were between 30 and 34 years of age, adding that such applicants were too old. He also disclosed that the events that would culminate in the recruitment of successful candidates would begin next month. “The final process is going to be next month because all those that are uploading details are about 30, 34 (years). All those ones are too old. We won’t select them. “So, all those 700, 000 or 800, 000 (applications) you are seeing, a lot of them will be knocked out when the system meets them because when you don’t meet the age criterion, you are sorted out (applications are thrown out). “When your academic qualification doesn’t meet up, you are sorted out (applications are thrown out). “There will be examination, but it will come out from the various states and once we know the numbers, we point them state by state and all government people will do their own. “The state will do theirs and it will come from the bottom to the top. I never knew Nigerians would like the police like this,” he said. The IGP remarked further that training of successful candidates would be decentralised to the six geo-political zones where he said good-enough facilities would are available. The Police Service Commission (PSC) said it received 843,008 applications as of 1.00p.m May 2 from applicants seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force. This is contained in an update issued by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission in Abuja last Monday. He said that 243,327 applications were received for Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) cadre. Ani added that 197,990 and 401,691 applied for the Inspector and Police Constable (PC) cadres respectively. The commission recently said in a statement that it would recruit 500 Cadet ASP, 500 Cadet Inspectors, 1,500 Specialist Officers and 7, 500 Constables in the recruitment of 10,000 policemen. President Muhammadu Buhari approved the recruitment of 10,000 policemen into the nation’s Police Force to reinforce the police for better service. The exercise is expected to close on May 13. I am skeptical of this write up |

viqueta: well, so far so good i have done my screening but not without God's favor though and i want to share my experience and also some sort of advice to applicants that are yet to be screened.
well on thurday, the 5th of may was the turn of Enugu state applicants at the Lagos Zone and i was fortunate to be the first person from my state in my zone i paid the price though cos an officer used myself and some other candidates from ekiti and delta states to clean up the jonnah wuyep multipurpose hall; venue for the screening. after that, the FLT LT then asked a chorus question who's a computer expert? not certificate carrying expert that doesn't know anything o, he added, knowing that i fit in i quickly signaled by raising up my hand and he told me 'don't be like the boy that spoikt our system yesterday' i laughed and told him i won't, he then took my self and one other guy from Ekiti to assist him with the screening, he asked me of my state of origin after which i told him he then gave me Enugu state which is of course my state to screen, after putting me through on how to go about the process then of course he asked me to screen my self first , well you know the rest na.....lol. so i started screening candidates from my state together with the officer as he was scrutinizing the docs while i was cross checking them on the system. now that brings me to the following observations as regards what will either qualify or disqualify a candidate:
1. WRONG COURSE OF STUDY: please if you know that your course of study wasn't listed please my dear don't waste your time going there. still on that, some candidates were atmy mercy as the officer in charge wasn't too grounded on some of the courses so i had to educate him more E.G they want computer Engineering graduate for infotech, now if you study system engineering which is still thesame thing then due to ignorance from the part of the officers they will just put NQ for you, so i had to explain to them that they are both thesame thing.
2. AGE: yes age, if you are 35+, na God hand your case dey o.
3. PHOTOCOPY OF CREDENTIALS : For God sake, please go with all your originals, don't present any PHOTOCOPY
4. HEIGHT:Please ensure they check your height very well, for male it is 1.68 min. for female 1.65 min, you will see some people smiling and presenting a height that will disqualify them, in most cases, i had to beg them to go back and have their height retaken.
5. NO PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH ON YOUR ATTESTATION FORM: Yes, believe me or not, the officer disqualified some candidates cos of that.
6. AGE DECLARATION DONE AFTER 2014 If your age declaration is bearing 2015 or 2016, please change it now before going there to avoid stories that touch.
at this point let me allow you guys go through these ones as am still not done. TBC Pls, what about my cousin that studied Pol Sc and Pub.Adm but applied under Administration and Personnel Mgt? Will they disqualify her. |
