Regarding your query as to periods and prayer, I think Muhsin and xoxo have addressed it. Just to butress their arguement, during periods you could engage in dhikr as much as u can and you could supplicate from "that wonderful book". You could recite the quran quietly from memory and if there is a case of neccesity like exams etc you could handle the quran, some use gloves.

Period doesnt cut a lady from God it hold excuses herfrom the daily rituals of salah or ramdan and if you areon hajj and your period kicks in, some scholars have said you could carry on based on a hadith repored by Aisha when she went on hajj with the prophet.

Salat requires ablution; Du'a does not.
Salat is to be prayed in congregation; Du'a is an individual experience (however can be group)
Salat must be performed in Arabic and only Arabic; Du'a can be performed in the supplicators native tongue as he or she pleases.

I would like to make it clear that: I don't have much time to talk tall, and hence I will only give you the info you mostly need without much substantive proofs from Qur'an and Hadith. That, I hope, when the more learned ones come will do inshaAllah. Or myself later.

When you are in your period, it is not that you are cut-off from God, no! You are simply in an impurity obviously. Before the advent of Islam, women in Arabia were sentenced to out-skirt, never talked to--in fact even never even listened to unless they are out of that period. Even in our contemporary world, you have things like pad, etc to protect you from that "dirt". That is, as I have already mentioned, an unclean state of being. Hence the religion prescribes how one should, although in that state, practice it, in contrary to all those attitudes already in place. One of these guidelines says no prayer (Solat!), and not all other form of prayer; no fasting but you are required to do/repay that when you are out of that; no sexual intercourse among other things.

What you should here understand is that: you are very much free and allowed to make your supplications/prayers (du'as) to the Exalted One, Allah (SWT). You can recite Qur'an (although some scholars say one ought not to hold it but do that "off head", from his memorized store); and do many other things.

You understood that you cant perform wudu during periods. Without wudu you cannot perform salaah. Simple ; )

Letters to a stranger.

Walaikum Salaam, Yes its haram for anyone to do Salat without ablution(wudu)!! I hope you have someone to show you how to do wudu correctly. I will give you and idea how it is done:

1) Niyat (intention) : You have to think in heart that- 'I am going to do wudu inorder to clean my impurities'. Without niyat wudu is not complete and without wudu Salath is not accepted.
2) Say: Bismillahi rahmanir raheem.
3) Wash your hands till your wrists - 3 times (always begin with right)
4) Wash your mouth - 3 times
5) Wash your face: Forehead to chin and ear to ear -  3 times
6) Wash the forearms (right forearm first) up to the elbows - 3 times (ie right forearm 3 times, then left forearm 3 times)
7) Wet your fingers and then wipe the head. - 3 times
Wet your fingers and then clean your ears as follows: Put the index fingers in the ear and pass the thumbs behind the ear from down to top -3 times
9) Wash the feet (right foot first) up to the ankles making sure that no parts of the feat are left dry, especially between the toes. - 3 times

End of Wudu say the following dua: "Ash hadu an lailaha illal lahu wah dahu la shareeka lahu wa ash hadu an-na Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu". (Muslim) meaning: I testify that there is no deity except Allah alone. And I testify that Muhammad(saw) is His servant and messenger."

Important note: Wudu SHOULD be done in the above mentioned ORDER or else it ll be just washing up.



Also i thought i will mention What all things will break the wudu.
1)Passing urine.
2)Passing wind or stool through anus.
3)Contact with najas(impurity) such as: Dropping(stool) of any living thing, Blood, Alchohol, Pig, dog.
4)Sleeping, state of unconsiousness.

You cannot do salath while you have your periods(menses). When periods is over it is necessary to do Ghusl(bath). Ghusl is also necessary after sexual intercourse. For Ghusl also you have to keep intention(niyat) and the while we bath we should make sure that water touches all the parts of the body.


Before salath keep in mind the following things:
1) That you are free from big impurities, That is make sure you have done Ghusl after sexual intercourse, periods.
2) Also that you are free from minor impurites. Make sure you have not done anything to break Wudu(passing urine,wind etc), If your wudu is broken it is necessary that you have to take wudu before salath.


I hope that will help you. If you ve doubts please ask. Others please add if i have forgotten something.
May Allah allow you and all of us to practice Islam in the way it is supposed to be done. Ameen

The scenario isnt hard to picture.The couple cuddles and plays with their little baby while they scream and beat her at any slightest error,she dresses inrags while new baby gets new stuffs,show no appreciation whatsoever to her. . . creating unknowingly a hatred in the heart of the rejected child and their baby.
What she did is wicked and evil but at this stage,keeping her in police custody wont do her much good.She needs love.

@All,Is it haram for a woman to pray without ablution and going to a mosque when she is in her flow?I do pray alone,without ablution et all but was i not shocked when a friend i mentioned it to nearly bit off my head she was a born muslim so i couldnt really argue with her.I assumed and want to believe i can pray anyday i want to except that on some special days,i wont be able to perform ablutions,am i wrong?
