These are the clowns Nigerians are clamouring for and it shows that there is something fundamentally wrong with the Nigerian mentality...

Personally, I think the Niger state governor is a better candidate than these clowns!!

cap28: low self esteem arises as a result of lack of love and support from parents and it is exacerbated when the child lives within a society or culture that does not value people from his or her background. for example if a black child grows up with a lot of neglect and lack of emotional support from their parents they are definitely going to have a very poor image of themselves, because that child has never known what love is and if you have never been shown love you can not have love for yourself neither can you give love as you dont know how to. The problem is further worsened when that same child grows up in a place like europe or america where blacks are routinely degraded and devalued by white society as a whole and the western media in constantly projects negative images of black people all over their media. Take a look at an experiment that was carried out in america to determine whether black children suffer from low esteem -they were shown a black doll and a white doll and they were asked to pick the one they felt was more beautiful and intelligent - time and time again these preschool black kids kept picking up the white doll when asked about positive traits and the black doll when asked about negative traits - what does that tell you? surely if you grow up in an environment where it is pounded into your head day in and day out that you are worthless you will eventually see yourself as worthless.

I have a site called African Economic Development Plan. I am promoting African art, tourism, fashion, goods, and investing. I am trying to promote African trade, intra-African trade and production. Right now only 2% of global trade goes through Africa, if we can increase this to 10% then jobs will be created, poverty reduced, better healthcare and education as well. These are actions we can take to develop the economy. What do you think of it and how can I make it better?

I must commend you for your efforts in pushing Mama Africa forward. It is very rare to come across an African born and bred in America with a burning passion for the betterment of Africa. Others like to say how the continent stinks and all that stuff but you and very few others on here and out there are truly an exception. Keep up the good work man, it will take you places.

I know many African Americans, (Also Africans) are very Eurocentric in thinking. We love other people's cultures without fully understanding and loving our culture. There are many pages on facebook that promote positive African stories. Hopefully more people can see the beauty of Africa and do tourism there to benefit the economy. This is why I have tourism on my site as well.

As Gbawe has rightly said, a United States president is all about sticking to American policies that will keep America in power. I have noticed that there is really no difference between the republicans or democrats. Almost all american presidents that ever served their country always ended up going to war with one foreign country or another. When was the last time an american president served his 4 year term peacefully without throwing bombs into a far away country? Anyways, when it comes to america, I washed my hands long time ago. I have so lost respect for that country that even taking about america disgusts me. Make them carry go and I ain't voting either.

I was never comfortable with the messianic support Obama received from Africans because I believed it to be an emotional and gross simplification of the American Presidency. An American president is not so much a person. He is an institution that will always be compelled and 'harmonised', above everything else, to do what is best for the USA.

It is those , [b]in the first place, who wanted to associate the American Presidency with colour and continental goodwill (i.e Obama's link with Africa) who will be disappointed with Obama.

Those who never regarded Obama's race and origin as pertinent will understand he is simply another individual who must continue the effort to keep America dominant. This "dominance" may come at the expense of others to include Africans and it is naive, given all that is known about the USA , for anyone to think the racial and continental origin of the man in the White House changes anything. This is not necessarily a bad thing and we Africans should learn from it. Allegiance and loyalty should , first and foremost, be to the land that has developed you. Obama is not Kenyan or African. He is, beyond the dreamy rhetoric, and for the purposes that matter, 100% American.
