Does anybody else have idea to develop the economy of Nigeria?

This is amazing, I was thinking the same thing. When Bil Gates comes to Africa I dont trust hi intention. THese foreigner do very bad hthings and we trust them more than we trut the fellow African. Iti s a hame MH

Botswana is the fastest growing country over the past 40 years. It is the least corrupt country and has the best political system in Africa. Many people are investing in Botswana as well. They have an indigenous homegrown political system. They even have chief for politics. They don't have a bunch of useless Senators who don't do anything. We need to stop following oyibo and follow our fellow Africans in Bostwana.

They even have free education and one of the highest living standard in Africa. We need to look up to them.

1) Christianity has destroyed our culture in Nigeria. We are not historically a christian country, many young people have no idea of the traditions or religion of our forefathers. I am an atheist but I feel that it is important to know ones culture, at least to be able to explain it to foreigners. For example, we had many sculptures and art of our traditions but now it has dwindled because of christianity. Christianity will call those sculptures idols and idol worshipping while hypocritically putting up statues of Jesus christ on the cross.

5) The worst part bout all of this is that many European and Americans (USA) look at Nigerians as backward country people. Of course, they are partly right and they won't say it directly but we can see the sentiment when they talk about the scientific studies that show the link between religion and intelligence/poverty. They talk about how the poorest countries are the most religious. Furthermore, christianity and islam are two religions that enslaved Nigeria. They are slave trading religions. Islam came first to take slaves from west Africa while Christianity expanded the transatlantic slave trade . Why should we as Nigerians embrace these two foreign religions that enslaved our forefathers? Read the Koran and the Bible and you will see that the religions are focused on Arabs and Jews From Adam to Jesus/Mohammed.

In this video by Wizkid he dances, talks, and dresses like an American. Why can't Nigerian artists wear African clothes, and have a mix of their African culture? The song girl by Bracket and Wizkid is a good start. In the video they wore American clothes but atleast spoke Igbo and Yorubai in the song. But we need more songs that are complete with African culture (langauge, clothes). In Wizkid's song "Don't Dull" He says "sitting in the corner wearing Dolce and Gabanna". Why can't he say "sitting in the corner wearing Face of Ankara"

I love how Naeto C wearis his Naija cap but we need more people like him representing African culture.

Where I live, I support black owned businesses as well. We need to learn how to keep wealth within our community. Why is it that Koreans in the U.S. own every hair products stores in urban areas? It is stuff like that, which boggles my mind.

Blacks have been trained to feel that they cannot do business. When they look at their history we see slavery and colonization we don't see any great empires that we had. room702: Gbawe and others like him/her leaving comment only see things from one side and has no idea what is really going on in the UK. the UK is institutionally racist and the majority of Nigerians who migrated to the UK within the last 20yrs are affected by this. Generally speaking, the Asians are also affected by racism when it comes to getting jobs etc but they have alternatives like, their own businesses to build their community and provide for themselves and they support each other. the Africans/black (especially Nigerians) on the other hand have very little entrepreneurship skills and the worst part is we don't even support each other.

Katsumoto: Are you implying that the higher number of Indian businesses is as a result of fiscal policy? What about Indians who own chains of corner stores and pharmacies? Was that also fiscal policy? To be honest, Nigerians have been too reliant on the system. Ostentacious lifestyles sometimes prevents Black people in the UK from expanding. A guy who owns a small shop in Peckham has bought an e-class before its even one year. Indians on the otherhand will look haggard for years, focusing on expansions. I don't want to get into this too much before Nigerians attack me.

People need role models; not everyone has a mother/father who is inspiring. Some of the most successful people in the world have had role models that weren't their parents even when their parents didn't do too badly. Why do professionals need mentors if all one ever needs is a parent.

My point about the Bradford riots was about Asians initially having a leg to stand on before getting comfortable. Black folks on the other hand were rioting even when they had no leg to stand on. There is also a big difference between Indian and Pakistani/Bangladeshi.

More like the Europeans won't be able to live in their countries anymore so they will go to Africa an take the lake and elimnate the people.
