PoliticsRe: South East Nigeria Needs Three International Airports by igbo2011(m): 4:25pm On Mar 28, 2012
NOOOOO 3 is too much. We need to focus on INFRASTRUCTURE!!!! Power roads, internet speed. We also need to invest in HUMANS> Education and healthcare. We need free education until 17 for all Nigerian citizens and free healthcare for children under 5 and all pregnant women. We need basic ammenties first. Most Nigerians will never use an airport but they will use education or healthcare.

We should be building 3 international standard schools or hospitals NOT airports.

cap28: This is what you get when you remain a slave and lackey to a western power.

This is what you get when you allow foreigners to come in and privatise every valuable asset and utility in your country in order to make as much money out of your populace as possible, we are now reaping the fruits of privatisation at the hands of enslavers.

I thought that when two countries enter into bilateral trade agreements both parties derive mutual benefits from it, why is it that the only party that seems to be benefitting from this bilateral trade agreement is the UK?

This is the first time that i ve heaard of air fares continuing to go up despite the high volume of passengers on a route- i thought the reverse was supposed to be the case?

why is it that it costs less to fly from the United Kingdom to most major cities in the United States than it does to fly from lagos or abuja to london which is a mere 6 hour flight? i think i know the answer - the most lucrative air route is being operated as a monopoly by british airways and virgin atlantic at the expense of the nigerian people.

this is why they can exploit nigerian passengers with impunity, the stu.pid nigerian govt under the guidance of obasanjo went ahead and sold off nigeria airways to the british and now they are milking us for every penny we've got.

isnt it a big shame that we do not have a national carrier? can you imagine britain allowing british airways and virgin atlantic to be sold off to the chinese? can you even begin to imagine how the british people would go crazy if they found out that the major airlines operating flights out of britain were owned by china?

but in nigeria anything goes - this is why we have britain running and operating one of the most profitable air routes in the world and people think its normal - what a shame!!!

it is the pride and joy of a nation to run and operate its own national carrier -

when are we going to stop allowing ourselves to be treated like docile fools?
Does Arik Air count as a national carrier?

I also don't get why Nigeria's military always destroys illegal refineries. Why don't they support the illegal refineries so they can use them? Get the people who know how to do it to teach other people so we can refine our oil more and export the rest.

The fact that the U.S has a black president doesn't negate the preponderance of the whites. Ask yourself, who selected him to be there? You think he calls the shots in the white house? There people there telling him what to do...

Most of you don't know how this world is being run. There are forces that decide who become the president of a country. Not you the electorates. Have you asked yourself why Gbagba of Ivory Coast was removed from power after the Supreme court affirmed that he was the genuine winner.
Because Gbagbo wanted to liberate Africa for neocoloialism under western and French rule. That is why Sarkosy sent his troopsi n to kill people and overthrow the government.

PoliticsReps Applaud High Local Content In Innoson Vehicles by igbo2011(op): 11:22pm On Mar 26, 2012
http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/motoring/2012/mar/23/motoring-03-23-2012-001.html
Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Local Content have commended Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Limited for the high level of local input in the vehicles made at its plant in Nnewi, Anambra state.

The lawmakers who were at the plant located in Uru village, Nnewi, for an on-the-spot assessment of the vehicle production process and verification of the level of the local content in Innoson automobiles, said they were impressed with the various stages of manufacturing witnessed during the visit.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Asita Honourable, said that they were happy to discover that more than half of the auto components were sourced locally, and urged Nigerians to patronize the company.

“The Innoson motor plant at Nnewi is a huge honour to Nigeria.” he noted. “What is going on at Nnewi is an amazing feat which needs to be encouraged. This is not an assembly plant, but a full production site where Nigerian auto engineers are exhibiting their skills. We saw them and felt extremely impressed that such marvelous feat is existing in our country.”
He, therefore, stated that the committee would support Innoson by using its buses in carrying out official activities. “The high standard of Innoson Vehicles has made us to endorse it for our jobs. We have resolved to make it an official vehicle for the assembly.”

He also praised the vision of the company Chairman, Chief, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR, saying that his ingenuity has added value to manufacturing sector.
Innoson makes a wide range of vehicles at the plant, including buses of various sizes (mini, shuttle, intra- and inter-city), refuse compactors, SUVs and many others.

“Chief Chukwuma is indeed a mega industrialist. Apart from the motor plant he established, he has plastics, motorcycle tyre and tubes industries as well. Certainly the multiplier effects of all these in employment sector is overwhelming and such a man requires government support. He is a true Nigerian with patriotic zeal. He has demonstrated that through the establishment of all these plants. Of course, we the Lawmakers would not hesitate in assisting him to achieve greater result.”

Thanking the visiting Lawmakers, Chukwuma promised to make the prices of new automobiles cheaper in Nigeria, if he is adequately encouraged in his venture to produce good quality and affordable vehicles, making use of substantial local input.
This is GREAT news for Nigeria and Nigerians!! We should look to patronize Innoson so they can grow to be a global product. This is step one for Nigeria. We have other up and coming companies who need patronage too. Go here for more: http://www.nigerianedp.com/sample-page/consumer-goods/

Like Innoson on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/THE-REUNION-OF-BLACK-FAMILY-WORLD-WIDE/137580649597223#!/pages/Innoson-Vehicle-Manufacturing/290790720936202

KnowAll: Hausas has more than 100 million speakers

Yoruba has more than 100 million speakers(I am taken into account many other little tribes in Nigeria that can speak the language due to the influence of Lagos) Most Edo’s , DELTA people including Igbo’s(even the late IKEMBA sef), Ijaws, Igala’s and Hausas that grew up in Lagos can speak Yoruba not forgetting the native speakers in the Republic of Benin and Togo.

Since only 80 million Africans speak Swahali, the Nigerian language of Yoruba or Hausas should be the African language of choice and not Swahili.
cool
I don;'t care what the language is as long as iti s African. I don't want to see African langauges die. We need to speak our langauges.

There are also Yorubas in Brazil who still have Yoruba gods and keep the language. Also, where is your source for 100 million Hausa and Yoruba speakers?

Why are people surprised about this? This happenes all the time first Troy Davis noww Trayvon. BLack men are all in prison by racist cops and juddges. White kids get away with crimes all the time. Trust me, I have been to America and seen or heard about it. I knew one whitek id was selling weed and he got a slap in the wrist. A black kid ding the same would get a jail sentence. The cops treat whites better than blacks. So before all you Nigerians rush to praise America remember thi s is how blacks are tgreated in America. afam4eva: Like i said, evryone should be fighting for their own language. I'm not swahilli, so it will be more than stupid of me to be advocating for swahilly when i have my own language(Igbo). Who cares how many people speak swahilli. Biko stop this madness that Igbos are known for and stop being irrationally inferior. What is wrong with Igbo being the spoken language in Africa?
It doesn't matter man. Also, KiSwahili has a standard dialect. Igbo has different dialects like Aham bu Nnamdi and Afam bu Nnamdi. Iti s different. I don't really care what the language is but if we had each African vote KiSwahili would win since people who speak Swahili are like 80 million.

Dede1: @OP

Please get some education and stop the ignorant analogy of England and Africa. In comparable stance, Europe and Africa should be in the level of reference. Since Europe did not adopt English language as official language, it will foolhardy for anybody to expect Africa to adopt Kiswahili or whatever as official language of Africa.

Whenever you go to or stop at Milan, Italy try asking direction in English language. You will be treated like a slowpoke and the Italians will pretend that they did not hear a word of English you have spoken.
I am very educated FYI also Italians speak THEIR language, Ro0manians speak THEIR langauge. Africans speak EUROPEAN languages (besides Tanzania). DO you see htis?? I have met Africans born and raised in Africa who cannot speak their native language. I have never met an Asian who can't speak their native tongue. India, Malaysia, Philippines were all colonized but they still speak their language. Do you see the difference?

In SOuth Americans when the Spanish and Portuguese conquered them, they LOSt their language. YES Europeans mixed with each other but their native tongue is almost gone. The native language in Bolivia is Kechewa but Spanish dominates. THis will happen to Africa if we don't wake up.

afam4eva: It matters a great deal. What the f***k is my business with swahilli. I'll rather speak english. Give me Igbo anyday.

I'll advise you to start putting Igbo first in anything you do because that's what you're. I don't want to imagine that if you were among the people chosen to vote on a common language in Africa, you will vote swahilli. That will be stupidity my friend.
80 million people speak KiSwahili and the only lingua franca in Africa is Tanzania where they speak KiSwahili. Even though there are many other langauges there they chose on a common one. Most Africans woul rather speak European languages than a different ethnicity's. Tribalism will lead to the end of Africans. We will be wiped off like the Native Americans if we don't unite as one. Look what is happening to Palestine, they can do that to Africa too.

No but I am learning it and practicing it everyday. My parents never spoke it or taught but I want my future children to know atleast 2 African languages so I want to learn igbo before they are born.

afam4eva: Why should we adopt swahilli and not English or french? Why not Igbo, hausa or Yoruba? At times i baffle at the way some Igbos reason. Everyone is trying to put their language on the map and here is someone with a username "Igbo2011" telling us to adopt a language from another African country.
it doesn't matter what the language is man. All I am saying is that instead of us using a European language, we should just use an African one. Since KiSwahili is widely spoken let's just take it. We can stil have our langauges but our COMMON language in Africa will be KiSwahili. This will make it easier to do business with other Africans and this will give somewhat more unity since we have more in common.

Afam I know we are both Igbo, I have nothing against Igbos, Yoruba, Hausas, etc. I don't really care I am a pan-African. I believe in the unity of people of African descent world wide. We should just settle with KiSwahili since it is widely spoken.

It is stupid how so many African countries speak a European language instead of their native language. The only country that speaks their language is Tanzania which is KiSwahili. I think that since most African countries speak European languages, we might as well switch to a common African language. My guess would be KiSwahili since it is the most widely spoken. YES English is important to learn and we can learn it but our official languages should be KiSwahili. The Arabs have Arabs, us Africans should have KiSwahili.

http://afrohistorama.over-blog.com/article-the-real-reasons-for-the-coup-in-mali-while-the-elections-were-scheduled-for-april-2012-102075232.html

Yesterday, I have received a phone call from a friend, a French diplomat, and lawyer friend . We discussed on two essential points. On the issue of deportation and the coup that was underway in Mali. He was actually giving me the news at 1pm GMT times. Right now, there was no information about the coup in Mali on any TV channel, this was before any television relaying the news from 3pm.
I asked very specific questions during our conversation, which enabled me to understand what was going on in Mali. What was undercover the military coup!

There are three reasons that I noted:

1 - The president's refusal of the settlement of a French military base in Mali;
2 - The president refusal to sign the repatriation agreement of Malians living in France against in subsidies;
3 - Support of President Gbagbo and Gaddafi, France had not supported his "lack of solidarity in the destabilization of these two systems government cited above.

So why, a coup while the elections were scheduled for next April? Simply because these elections do not suit France, who needs to stabilize Libya from Mali.
Because with elected Malian government and free Mali, it will not be easy to maneuvers and settele a French military base urgently needed.
.The reasons why the first claim of putschist was the military means necessary to combat AQIM! Thus, so the parade is found for any settelement of the French army, then, I said Wait and SEE!!
And if President Gbagbo was right: If I fall, you fall!
My full support to the people of Mali.

countries like nigeria, uganda, kenya and ethiopia are known for fighting and killing their fellow africans on behalf of their western masters - that is what ECOMOG is all about - it was formed by the west - not to help african countries defend themselves from western attack but to help the west fight any stubborn african countries who refused to give up their sovereignty and natural resources.

‎"Eurocentric historians argue that Europe gave civilization to Africa, which is a coomplete inversion of the truth. The first civiulized Europeans were the Greeks, who were chiefly civilized by the Africans of the Nile Valley. The Greeks transmitted this culture to the Romans, who finally lost it, bringing on a dark age of five hundred years. Civilization was restored to Europe when another group of Africans, the Moors, brought this dark age to an end, meanwhile recivilizing the Christian barbarians of Europe."-from The Story of the Moors by Stanlet Lane-Poole

Africans have had the greatest civilizations ever, Kemet (Ancient Egypt) Cush, Ethiopia, Axum, Carthage, Phoenicians, Benin, Ile Ife, Nri, Hausa, Kilwa, Luba, Cuba, Nok culture, Dhar tichit, Mali, Songhai, Dogon tribe, Zulu, Monomotopia. YES we have been dominate by the Arabs and Europeans but we are NOT inferior. We should stop trying to be like them and start to be like our self. I agre. Every Nigerian should speak 2 native Nigerian language, KiSwahili and English. KiSwahili for all of Africa. English for All of the world, and the native languages for Nigeria. But Africans rather speak European language than their own because we cannot decide which language t speak for the country language. We are so easy to manipulate this will lead to our demise in the not so distant future. All black people world wide should learn KiSwahili to unite as one.

The only African language that speaks it's own language as official langauge is Tanzania (maybe Ethiopia too). We will end up like the South Americans with no indigenous language pretty soon if we don;t wake up.
