Russia has been trying to hold the entire Europe to ransom because of their gas supply to them. Well US is stepping in and poised to take over and effectively cut Russia off.

Foreign Affairs › US/EU To Announce New Energy Partnership Tomorrow. Cutting Off Russian Gas. by Igbofam(op): 9:31pm On Mar 24, 2022 |
President Biden and European leaders are expected to announce a plan on Friday for Europe to receive liquified natural gas (LNG) shipments in an effort to reduce reliance on Russia for energy, three U.S. officials familiar with the plan told The Washington Post. The announcement is expected before Biden leaves for Poland, where he will travel to after meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels on Friday, the newspaper reported. The paper noted that the details have not been finalized. The president is also expected to announce a new round of sanctions against Russia while he is in Brussels. Two people familiar with the matter told the newspaper that the sanctions would target the country's defense companies and subsidiaries, members of its parliament and other sectors. The White House announced on Thursday that the U.S. and its allies would be sanctioning 328 Duma members in addition to sanctioning the Duma itself, 17 board members from the Russian financial institution Sovcombank, 48 Russian state-owned defense enterprises and several others. A State Department spokesperson referred The Hill to the Department of Energy regarding the expected Friday announcement and pointed to several statements made by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen regarding the sanctions announcement. "With our partners and allies, the United States aims to strike the heart of Russia's ability to engage in warfare and carry out aggression against other countries, including Ukraine," Blinken said in a statement. "We will continue to impose costs until Putin ends this unprovoked war against Ukraine. We call on those closest to Putin to cease and publicly condemn this cold-blooded war, which has caused the unconscionable death of hundreds of civilians, including children, and the largest humanitarian catastrophe in Europe since the Second World War." White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan on Wednesday noted there was an expected announcement coming regarding reducing Europe's energy reliance on Russian natural gas. "A major priority for both the president and his European allies is to reduce the dependence of Europe on Russian gas. Full stop," Sullivan told reporters. "And the practical roadmap for how to do that - what steps have to be taken, what the United States can contribute, what Europe has to do itself - this has been the subject of intense back-and-forth over the course of the past few days and weeks," he continued. "And we will have more to say on this subject specifically on Friday, particularly with the European Commission and the European Commission president, von der Leyen. So he'll discuss it tomorrow." The development comes as the U.S. and European nations seek to further isolate Russia economically by hitting its energy sector. The U.S. earlier this month announced it would ban Russian imports of natural gas, oil and coal. The Hill has reached out to the Department of Energy and White House National Security Council for comment. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/homenews/administration/599541-biden-world-leaders-expected-to-announce-plan-to-ship-liquified%3famp Mynd44 Lalasticlala Seun

Foreign Affairs › ukraine Reclaims Irpin. Launches Counter Attacks In Kherson & Kyiv by Igbofam(op): 4:36pm On Mar 24, 2022 |
Ukrainian troops have reclaimed territory occupied by Russia as the nation’s troops seek to reverse momentum in the war, according to the US.
A US Department of Defense spokesperson told reporters on Wednesday that Ukraine is defending parts of the country “very smartly, very nimbly, very creatively”.
“We have seen indications that the Ukrainians are going a bit more on the offensive now,” they said. “We have seen them now in places, particularly in the south near Kherson, [where] they have tried to regain territory.”
The US official added that Ukrainian forces had been planning counter-attacks and were now “moving in that direction”.
“The Russians have not achieved any of the strategic objectives that they set out to — or certainly not without loss,” he said, adding that Ukrainian forces have successfully held off Russian attempts to seize the capital by closing in on Kyiv’s suburbs.
Ukraine’s defence ministry said on Tuesday that Russia had partially captured the towns of Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel on the outskirts of Kyiv.
However, Ukraine has now retaken 80 per cent of Irpin, according to the Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Independent, while battles continue in Bucha and Hostomel.
Briton on Mariupol frontline says 'we still control this city, we are fighting day and night''
It follows reports that Russian forces targeted Kyiv’s suburbs with phosphorus bombs on Tuesday night as the Kremlin ramps up attempts to storm the capital.
Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushin said Russia launched white phosphorus bombs in Hostomel and Irpin, two small surbubs to the northwest of Kyiv with a combined population of less than 75,000. The use of such weapons against civilians is banned under the Geneva Conventions https://inews.co.uk/news/ukraine-reclaims-russian-held-territories-as-troops-launch-counterattacks-in-kyiv-and-kherson-1535481

They will never understand. Makes me wonder how truly dumb they must be. It's like the Vietnam war where a whole USA got dealt a massive bloody nose by the Vietnamese due to their knowledge of the terrain. Russia can never win this. Just last night 2 of their prize vessels who h was celebrated by their RT media and their government when it berthed in Ukrainian port of Berdyansk have been hit by Ukrainian fire. One destroyed, one seriously damaged and the other managed to sail away from the port. 3 vessels that each carries up to 20 tanks, 45 armored personnel carriers and 400 paratroopers. Russia is done for. |

Drenimarcus: From cnn? And no major indication that these are Russian bodies. Smh.
Propaganda don’t win wars. Izyum mopped up, irpine and marinka mopped up. Slavutyuch just got mopped up. Get out of msm news and see things for yourself. Ironically same Irpin you mentioned has got about 3000 Russian soldiers sorrounded by Ukrainian forces with their supply lines cut off. They are basically isolated and food for bullets. What you fail to realize is that Russia can never win a war of this nature when people are fighting for their home which you want to take away. Ukrainians have the upper hand based on their knowledge about their terrain. They will keep fighting smarter than the Russians whom so far have now resorted more to long range fighting using missiles rather than ground combat which even they know they are losing with the dead Soldiers being used as manure for the new season of sunflowers. |

Excuzeme: Let me quote part of the Article:
It is sad that even adults can differentiate between News and Propaganda! Right there in the Message, it says BLOOMBERG, when did Bloomberg become a Russian media?
Again, you cant seem to differentiate between "Highest RANKED ... and High RANKING. The Man that was said to have resigned, is a high RANKING Official (I dont know how "high" a CLIMATE CHANGE official can be, but l know that is a job Govt gives to someone who you dont want to embarrass but you still need to give him something to eat and talk on.
The Highest RANKED Official in the Kremlin is way far from and higher than this Man.
Also, How can he be the one that gave Putin his "first job" in the 90's, when Putin, as a young KGB Officer in the former USSR, is already helping African Countries to train their Guirrela fighters, against western Govts, as far back as the late 70's? How then is it that this man gave him his FIRST job, over 20yrs later?
Try to spot Propaganda, when you see it. This story is full of so many INCONSISTENCIES that it sticks out like a Propaganda, from a Mile off and it can only be spurned by a Western propaganda Media like Bloomberg. Are they not the ones that said Russia killed Thousands of people with a Missile Strike at a Theatre, yet not a single dead body was found... and Ukraien President later said "Miraculously", No One Died? Foreign Affairs › Anatoly Chubais Resigns And Flees Russia by Igbofam(op): 3:18pm On Mar 23, 2022 |
A longtime Putin advisor has reportedly stepped down from his post and fled the country.
Anatoly Chubais left his job in Russia's government over the country's war in Ukraine. He is the highest-ranking Kremlin official to break ties with Russia over the war, Bloomberg reported.
One of Russian President Vladimir Putin's high-ranking advisors has reportedly stepped down and left the country, according to Russian state media outlet TASS.
Anatoly Chubais, who served as Putin's climate change envoy and gave Putin his first government job in the 90s, quit in protest over the war in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported.
Chubais is the highest-level Kremlin official to break ties with Russia over the war, according to Bloomberg.
The Russian oligarch has been an influential reformer in Russia's government since the fall of the Soviet Union.
The move comes nearly a month after Putin launched a full-scale invasion against Ukraine, resulting in thousands of fatalities.
Chubais's resignation comes after another official, Arkady Dvorkovich, who formerly served as former deputy prime minister under Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, resigned from his position as chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation last week and openly denounced the war against Ukraine.
"My thoughts are with Ukrainian civilians," Dvorkovich said in an interview with Mother Jones. "Wars do not just kill priceless lives. Wars kill hopes and aspirations, freeze or destroy relationships and connections
During a televised speech last week, Putin lambasted citizens who don't support Russia in Ukraine, according to Aljazeera.
Russians, he said, "will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors and will simply spit them out like a gnat that accidentally flew into their mouths."
"I am convinced that such a natural and necessary self-purification of society will only strengthen our country," he added, according to the report. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/putins-longtime-advisor-Anatoly-Chubais-resigns-ukraine-war-2022-3%3famp

toxtimmy: Wrong.... look for the end result... the end result is the key... You can apply make up and lip stick to a rabid dog like the US and it's still a rabid dog.
Iran with all the sanctions and freeze of assets by the US have so much advanced in terms of militarily and self sufficiency that the US/Isreal is threatened by Iran's advancement that US is focused on lifting Irans sanctions and all Isreal does is threaten everyday they will attack Iran... At the end of the day Iran will get all their frozen asset back.
As for Russia they have tons of business partners to do business without using the west monetary system... Russia is one of the most technologically advanced country in the world and they are big time into farming as well... They have a lot of natural resources as well... And even with this sanctions from the US is still importing natural resources from Russia... Germany the same... France is still doing billion dollar business in the Russia right now as I type... I can go on and on... But at the end of the day nothing can make you change you from seeing things from the outside unless you want to yourself.
2/3 of the world don't give a f...ck about sanction from US/EU on Russia and will do business with Russia... Africa as a continent will do business with Russia on a daily basis... Think about this for a moment, if Russia sells weapons only to Africa that will run into billions of dollars yearly... But I hope African leaders focus more on doing business outside weapons with Russia simply because EuroAsia is the future. Iran, North Korea and the rest of them have not even experienced 1/100 of what Russia is facing now in terms of Sanctions. Russia is getting the great great great grandmother of all sanctions and already the Russian economy is in massive decline. Job losses in the thousands already, Useless currency, stock exchange evaporated.... All in less than a month of sanctions. Imagine these sanctions being sustained for just 1 more year or even 6 months. When you spend more than you make you will eventually go broke. That will be Russia's story eventually |
