Mekoyaw:
Good day to everyone on this prestigious forum. The decision to share this story of mine came to spotlight after months of reluctance & indecision to share and as a result of the stage of deterioration regarding the physical abnormality. That I truly regret!!!

First & foremost what I'm about to say here is about the strange body growth that attacked my left foot, above my left eye & most disturbing right now the bony protuberance on my forehead during my service year in Benin City in 2021, though the last in the list was habit induced which started before I was called-up for NYSC but not very noticeable while the others still remains a mystery to me how it started, at that time my colleagues make jest of me that "you played Johnny with Benin girls abi which is absolutely false. But those on my foot & left eye subsided with the help of an kind elder-state dad in my area.

Now the one disturbing right now is the bony protuberance I've on my forehead which is at a degenerating stage, it's actually began with a childhood habit of mine which involves rubbing my thumb knuckle roughly on my other finger which I find pleasurable now this habit metamorphosed recently & upgraded to my forehead but I only did it when I'm sad, not knowing that I'm causing injury to my forehead but then when I noticed some little bump I stopped it even before I went for service, since then it's just growing.

Please I need all the help I can get right now.

There's no cause for alarm bro, all you just need is a surgery and the seed will be removed. I've seen someone with a similar case and a surgery brought an end to it.

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Fuel Subsidy, NNPC Is A Crime Scene! by IGBOGENE27(m): 4:49am On Jun 02, 2023
Bebigiby1:
What is government subsidy? Government Subsidy is simply the transfer of economic resources by government to consumers or producers of a good or service. The resultant incentive is to reduce cost of production and boost consumption of the commodity.

The Nigerian government introduced an oil subsidy to cushion the effect of rising global oil prices in the 1970s. The Obasanjo military regime formalised the subsidy in 1977 when it introduced the Price Control Act which regulated prices of items including fuel. Since the introduction of fuel subsidy, there have been deliberate sabotage of Nigeria's refineries by successive governments. Today, government public officials and their cronies (Oil Marketers) have turned the fuel subsidy scheme into a conduit pipe for looting our common wealth.

Many economic experts are of the opinion that subsidies distort markets and discourage investments. Some have argued that subsidies exist where government fails to implement programs to internalise uncontrolled costs in energy markets. Others argue that government regulation creates a subsidy when it fails to set fuel prices equal to the marginal cost of production.

When it comes to fuel pricing in Nigeria, politics and corruption trumps economics. According to the Natural Resource Institute, an independent, non-profit organisation, Domestic Crude Allocation, DCA, has become the engine of waste and revenue loss to Nigeria. The Nigerian Government allocates about 445,000 barrel of crude per day to the NNPC, which it in turn sells to derive revenue.

The DCA allocation spent by NNPC delivers poor value for money. A large portion of NNPC’s withholding is spent on fuel subsidy payments, which are vulnerable to misappropriation and excessive looting by government officials. KPMG, the global audit firm, for example, found that in three years, NNPC paid itself roughly $6.6 billion to fund the subsidy on 15.6 billion litres of products that “apparently were not available to the Nigerian market”.

It is instructive to note that previous investigations by government and several petroleum subsidy litigations before our courts have further exposed massive graft by both government officials and private participants in the petroleum industry. Take for example, the Mallam Ribadu’s Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force Report indicated that NNPC withheld N1.983 trillion subsidies between 2006 and 2011. This amount represents almost 40 percent of the 2016 national budget.

Also, the Farouk Lawal led House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on Subsidy Verification concluded that the subsidy regime, as operated between 2009 and 2011, was laden with colossal corruption and entrenched inefficiency. Simply put, the subsidy claims made were not for consumed fuel!

The committee went on to state that contrary to the earlier official figure of subsidy payment of N1.3 trillion, the Accountant General of the Federation put forward a figure of N1.6 trillion, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) stated N1.7 trillion, while the committee established subsidy payment of N2,587.087 trillion as at December 31, 2011, amounting to more than 900 percent over the appropriated sum of N245 billion.

Also, a subsequent report by the Presidential Committee on Verification and Reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payments, led by Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, revealed that in 2011, 197 subsidy transactions worth N232 billion were illegitimate. Previously released Forensic Audit of NNPC by Price Waterhouse Coopers showed that fuel subsidy cost Nigeria almost $10 billion between January 2012 and July 2013.

It is incredible that over the years, fuel subsidy has been two and five times the size of the federal education budget and up to seven times the health budget. In February 2014, the CBN informed the Senate Finance Committee that NNPC needed to account for $20 billion, as CBN could only confirm receipt of $47 billion out of the $67 billion revenue between 2012 and July 2013. NNPC in it's defence to the Senate Committee on Finance made a vague submission that almost half of this non-remittance funds were used for subsidy claims on imports of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, and Dual Purpose Kerosine, DPK.

The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI, independent audit report stated that, over N13.697 trillion ($74.3862 million) has been paid as subsidy to marketers from 2005-2012. The breakdown of the subsidy shows that N2.197 billion was paid as subsidy in 2006. This rose to N236.64 billion in 2007 and N360.1 billion in 2008. In 2009 the country paid N198.1 billion as subsidy for petroleum products and in 2010 the subsidy payment rose to N416.45 billion.

The payments ballooned to N1.9 trillion in 2011. Payments of oil subsidies for 2022 ballooned again to $10 billion. Recent figure released by NNPC stated that it is owed N2.8 trillion ($6.1 billion) in outstanding subsidies payment by government. And that it is spending N400 billion ($867 million) monthly on subsidising petrol prices.

Again, the amount paid out on subsidies from 2005 to 2021 is equivalent to the entire budget for health, education, agriculture, and defense in the last five years. The sum also equals the capital expenditure for 10 years between 2011 and 2020. Subsidy payment reached its peak in 2011 ($ 13.52 billion or N2.11 trillion). It is true that removal of subsidy will free allocations which can be channelled to the provision of infrastructure like roads, education, health service, power, security, creation of jobs, development of the downstream sector, improve our GDP growth, foreign exchange shortages and provision of basic benefits for the “poor in the society” but since fuel subsidy payments skyrocketed mainly as a result of monumental corruption and greed of NNPC officials, politicians and marketers, removing subsidy will only create a new looting channel for these rogues and won't achieve any economic benefits. I am of the opinion that the failure of EFCC, ICPC and other anti graft agencies/committees to conclude investigations and prosecute litigations of crimes committed through NNPC is a major reason why fuel subsidy payments spiralled out of control. It is obvious, NNPC can not defend the huge daily / monthly fuel subsidy payouts it receives from government.

It is imperative to note that the fuel subsidy scheme failed to help Nigerians buy refined products at much lower than the prevailing market price because of monumental corruption by NNPC officials, politicians and oil marketers. The fuel subsidy scheme is not the problem, the issue here is corruption and looting supervised by our politicians. Even if subsidy is removed today, it still doesn't solve the underlying problem as funds realised will still be embezzled and mismanaged. To make any meaningful progress, NNPC/NNPC Limited must be held to account for it's crimes under the subsidy payment regime. Removing subsidy without resolving the underlying issues why it failed is a futile effort that will yield no meaningful fundamental economic benefit. If fuel subsidy must be removed, a serious government must confront mismanagement, invest in modular refineries and strengthen the independence of our anti-graft agencies. With the recent price hike of petrol from N185 to N700 per litre over alleged sudden removal of fuel subsidy, I fear that Tinubu's illegitimate APC government will do more harm than good to the Nigerian economy.

Nigeria my country.

Amobi Ogah Media Support Group, has described the move by the defeated APC House of Representative Candidate in the just concluded Isiukwuato/ Umunneochi federal constituency 2023 election, Nkiruka Onyejiocha, to INEC office demanding for certificate of return, as a move of shame and desperation.

The group said they got the information from a source in the Commission, informing it on how the defeated APC candidate approached INEC, citing the ruling by Federal High Court in kano and was turned back disgracefully by the commission.

“Nkiruka Onyejiocha should accept her faith of losing the election and also move on as no amount of distraction would make our Principal, Hon Amobi Ogah, to lose focus on why his people elected him

“We are also aware of her moves to buy the Judiciary at the election tribunal, of which it was exposed”.

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal in Kano has suspended the judgment of a Federal High Court that invalidated the primaries that produced Alex Otti and other Labour Party (LP) candidates in Abia State.

The decision was made on Saturday by Justice Mbaba, who also granted Alex Otti’s application to appeal as an interested party.

The Court of Appeal’s order comes in response to the motion for leave filed by the Abia Governor-Elect, seeking permission to appeal as an interested party against the judgment delivered by the Kano Division of the Federal High Court on May 18, 2023, in Suit No. FHC/KN/CS/107/2023.

Additionally, the Appellate Court has granted an order for stay and suspension of the judgment issued by Justice Yunusa J. of the lower court.

My brother, you are legally sound.you should be commenting more.
While it appears that pre election cases are now a party affair, dont you think the electoral act left a small window for candidates to challenge few cases like in this case as it wasn't covered under section 29?

The issue of double nomination, which is the bone of contention at the SC, falls under Section 35 of the Electoral Act 2022, and it provides as follows:

"35. Where a candidate knowingly allows himself to be nominated by
more than one political party or in more than one constituency, his nomination
shall be void."

From the above section, you ll agree with me that the Legislators used the word *Candidate* instead of the word *an aspirant*. Therefore, if I am to argue in favour of Atiku, I ll go by way of literal interpretation of the law, and opine that, the Act, having used the word a Candidate, means that it has gone beyond party affairs, because a candidate is used, where a political party has concluded it's primary and produced a winner that will contest against other political party candidates. That if the Act had intended it to be an internal party affairs, the word ASPIRANT would have been repeatedly used, as seen in Section 29.

With the above line of reasoning duly canvassed and supported with judicial meanings of a candidate and an aspirant, the court may likely hold that truly PDP/Atiku has the locus standi to institute the suit.

This is my opinion though, which we all know that, the court has the final say, and will decide based on the arguments canvassed before it.
Politics / Re: PDP Vs APC Supreme Court Judgement Slated For May 26, 2023: Matters Arising by IGBOGENE27(m): 6:45pm On May 23, 2023
Ratello:
*PDP vs APC Supreme Court Judgement slated for May 26, 2023: Matters Arising* .

Today, it seemed as if a sledgehammer had hit the APC camp as they might have been caught napping by the PDP over a case filed at the Supreme Court which came up for hearing today.

The Supreme Court Justices would have given judgment today perhaps but they moved the judgement to Friday, May 26th.

And that day is now probably the most important day in Nigeria since the February 25th Presidential election this year.

Millions of Nigerians also were not aware of the case which came up for judgement at the Supreme Court today. The shenanigans at the Presidential Election Tribunal in the past few days were enough distractions to even imagine that a case of this magnitude was waiting at the Supreme Court.

What is the judgment to be given by the Justices of the Supreme Court , in a nutshell? It is to determine if the APC Presidential running mate, Alhaji Shettima violated Section 35 of the Electoral Act 2022 by having a double nomination, thereby voiding the joint presidential ticket.

There’s been precedence set by the Supreme Court in a similar case like this with Uche Nwosu of Imo State. The Supreme Court ruled against Nwosu and disqualified him. That precedent is what many legal experts are looking at to see if the Justices will rule against Shettima and the APC this Friday.

I have spoken to a few brilliant lawyers and their positions are that Shettima has no hope of dodging this case, with all the facts of the case on ground. A couple more lawyers I asked for a balanced opinion are undecided. They feel it can go either way, since the confidence in the Supreme Court in giving the right and expected legal judgments in the political space has been waning for a couple of years now.

If the Supreme Court rules on Friday that Shettima violated the Electoral Law, it would mean outright disqualification of him and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, since it’s a joint ticket!

If that happens on Friday, it would mean a couple of things might happen, depending on the further judgement given. It might mean that the person whom INEC declared as the second position holder in the Presidential Election would be declared the President-Elect. That would be Atiku Abubakar. If that is the case, then Atiku will likely be sworn in as the President.

However, if the Supreme Court disqualifies both Tinubu and Shettima without making any pronouncement on who should be sworn in, there would likely be an extension for a number of days, of the Buhari presidency. Buhari might continue for not more than six months and if he doesn’t wish to continue in office beyond May 29th, perhaps Vice-President Osinbajo might hold forth for a few more months if he too wishes, until another election holds. These are my own layman’s opinions on what might be the scenario and not cast in stone under any legal framework. So, the reader should take this part about an extension of the Buhari/Osinbajo tenure as hypothetical on my part.

There is another scenario too. If Atiku is declared as the winner and sworn in, the case at the Presidential Election Tribunal asking for the judicial interpretation of the constitution as it concerns the 25% in the FCT will definitely come up.

Now, here’s what I think of that section of the constitution. I believe that for a winner to be declared in any Presidential Election, that person has to win 25% in the FCT. I think it’s a no-brainer. My own understanding tells me that the ‘AND’ in that section of the constitution is not in anyway ambiguous but a conjunctive requirement.

So, if Atiku is declared the winner if the judgement on Friday dismisses BAT and Shettima, it is rather likely that he will still step down when the Tribunal gives a judgment on that 25% in the FCT matter. If that happens, Atiku and Obi will slug it out in a run off election, going by the Electoral law, because BAT and Shettima would have been disqualified from running in that run-off.

So, you now can see why this Friday the 26th of May is an important day for millions of Nigerians.

I can only imagine the kind of pressure the Honourable Justices of the Supreme Court are under right now.

Nigerians can only hope that they give the judgement which satisfies their consciences according to the rule of law.

Cc: Seun, Lalasticlala, O4MJ

On the issues of satisfying the 25 percent requirement in FCT, I posit that, In the unlikely event that the SC disqualifies the president elect, based on double nomination pursuant to section 35 of the Electoral Act, the legal implication is that all the votes casted in favour of APC and their candidate, will amount to wasted votes. In that circumstance, Atiku will automatically satisfy the contentious 25 percent requirement in FCT, and also the 25 percent in 24 states of the Federation, and my Lords justices may in their wisdom, declare him as the president elect.

However, Where the court fails to make a pronouncement as to who is the rightful winner of the election, either the AGF or any other contestants, may on Monday morning file an application for judicial interpretation of the judgment at the SC, viz a Viz the constitution and the electoral Act, on who should be sworn in as the president.

But, where none, approaches the SC for interpretation, the president, may likely convene a National council of State's meeting, to determine who to be sworn in as an interim president, as nature abhors vacuum. But, the chances of interim government in today's Nigeria, is a near impossibility.

Lastly, in my opinion, I strongly believe that it's practically impossible for the Court to sack the president elect on 26th May.

Please, the above comments are just for academic purposes, as it was never intended to prejudice or sway the minds of the court.

It cannot work. Pre-hearing ended today, cannot be ended, will be struck out.

It is a pre-election matter, and don't think the PEPT can handle same.

I beg to differ sir.
On your first issue, where a SC's judgment affects the petition at the tribunal, the court cannot strike out the petitioners petition. That would be tantamount to telling an aggrieved party to go home without being heared. Such action will violate section 6(6) (b) & (c) of the constitution. Every case it's decided based on it's peculiar circumstances.

If you had argued that the petitioners on record may be asked to file a fresh petition, to suit the assumed present situation, I would have agreed with you to a reasonable extent.
In summary, the outcome of the SC's decision cannot warrant the striking out of the petition, without been heared to the end.

On your 2nd issue, there are pre-election matters that can still be brought by a post election suit. E.g, the issue of qualification, which is the subject of the extant appeal at the SC.

To throw more light on this, when an issue of qualification is to be brought by way of a pre-election matter, it must be either a party member or an aspirant in the primary election of the said party, that has the locus standi to institute same. Where any other person or political party institutes it, he would be more regarded as a meddlesome interloper. But, a candidate in an election or a political party, can institute an action based on grounds of disqualification, only if the general election has been held and a winner returned. In that case, the petition would be clothed with the requisite jurisdiction.

Let’s assume Supreme Court disqualifies Tinubu and others that the next person that certified the constitutional provision should be issued Certificate of Return, what happens to Obi’s petition since he didn’t join Atiku?

Cc: Fergie001

In that situation, either the petitioner will be asked to amend his petition to make Atiku & INEC, the Respondent based on the Judgement, or APC & Tinubu's name would be struck out, leaving out only INEC as a Respondent. But, the 1st option is imminent, in the circumstance.

However, I doubt the possibility of SC sacking Tinubu and APC, based on Shettima's double nomination. My reason is that, since it was brought as a pre-election matter, PDP, does not have the locus standi to institute the action. They should have waited till after election, to bring it by way of post election matter. Should the suit be dismissed for lack of locus standi, Shettima will still have to battle double nomination at the post election matters before the PEPT, where the court will decide it on the merit.

Jesus Christ GOD Almighty is going to perform a wonder in Nigeria. God will disgrace corrupt politicians and the criminal political structure in the country and pave way for new order in Nigeria.
Number THREE (3) is prophetic in God's work. Jesus Christ raised from the dead after 3 days to put and end to the old order of death and ushered humanity a new order of salvation and everlasting life through Christ. God used the prophetic symbol of the Trinity - GOD THE FATHER - GOD THE WORD/SON - GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT to save mankind from condemnation and death. The same thing is going to happen in Nigeria.

God has heard the cries of his people in Nigeria and he's going to reveal his power in Nigeria's political system.
INEC's deceleration of Bola Tinubu as President elect was allowed by God to fulfill the prophetic mystery. Tinubu was announced president elect on 1st of March 2023. March is the 3rd month of the year and 1st of March is the 3rd day of the week. Tinubu by this order of 3 in the realm of spirit is the first president. Though Tinubu was declared winner by INEC, he is not the winner before the Supreme Judge Jehovah. To further the prophetic mystery of the Trinity, Bola Tinubu will reign as President elect for 3 months.

After 3 months in may 29th, another man will take over power. President Buhari will not hand over to Peter Obi and neither will he hand over to Bola Tinubu. President Buhari will hand over to an interim govt under the leadership of Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
Osinbajo will take over power on May 29th and will reign for a period of 3 months (- Trinity) from 29th May to August. After reigning for 3 months, Osinbajo will do a noble thing. He'll demand for the real presidential election results. From the authentic presidential results it will be discovered that Bola Ahmed Tinubu of APC actually came 3rd. Atiku Abubakar of PDP came 2nd. And Peter Obi of Labour whom INEC claimed came 3rd actually came 1st. By the word of GOD himself and the mystery of Trinity 3, God will wipe away Nigeria's corrupt political order. Number 1 (corrupt political order) will become number 3 and number 3 will become number 1.
By the power of God Almighty number 1 will be crown president. In effect, Yemi Osinbajo, the interim president will hand over to Peter Obi in September 2023 as Nigeria's rightfully elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2023. This mighty feat will not be achieved by Obidients. Neither will it be achieved by Peter Obi himself. It will be achieved by the Spirit of GOD.

CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS IN NIGERIA.
1. Bola Tinubu announced President 1st of March 2023 by INEC is the FIRST President. Tinubu will reign as president elect for 3 months. He will never be sworn in on May 29th.

2. Yemi Osinbajo will become interim president on May 29th. He will rule for a period of 3 months. Osinbajo is the 2nd president.

3. The 3rd President will be the person of Peter Obi. He'll take over power in September 2023 to usher in a new Nigeria.

Heaven and earth will pass away but the word of God shall never pass away. God Almighty will do away with the structure of Criminality in Nigeria and pave way for the NEW NIGERIA.

Politics / Re: Justice Starts From Equity In Configuration Of Panel Of Judges: by IGBOGENE27(m): 4:01pm On May 08, 2023

What verdict do we expect from lopsided northern panel of judges? Even in the US 🇺🇸 jury reflects the ethnicity of victim and suspect in murder cases.

In this case, was the murder of democracy in a multi ethnic nation. And here we go again, judges from the region that wants to subjugate all of us will be presiding the tribunal 😡

Won't be wasting my time watching this Charade let alone covering it . I already know the end from the beginning. I will be happy to be pleasantly surprised.

This country can't be trust to do what's fair and just let alone transparent in operation.

Abeg make una tell me the outcome 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃🏃🏃

Sickening 😡😡

Let them do their job without bias or coercion by external forces.

Politics / Re: Picture Of IREV Result For Rivers State Presidential Election. by IGBOGENE27(m): 12:20pm On May 08, 2023
Penguin2:
A picture allegedly taken from the IREV depicting the result of the presidential election result for Rivers State has emerged with Peter Obi clearly winning the state by a landslide while INEC declared Tinubu as winner of the state in the manual tabulation and declaration.

People are expressing surprise how INEC hopes to settle this obvious discrepancy.

That's the height of impunity and electoral fraud.

Please don't just come online and blabber.Try to read sometimes too.
If there should be a rerun in case the person or party that came first position in the first ballot did not meet the requirements, only the first and second will participate in the second ballot.
Ignorance is a disease!

I detest people that are not ready to learn. The first and second candidates can only run, where a runoff election is to be conducted, but, where it is a rerun, all the candidates will participate fully.

All the Petitioners before the Tribunal, in their alternative prayers, are praying the Court to cancel the election and other for a rerun, for non compliance with the electoral Act. Therefore, if the court concede to such prayer, the election will be cancelled and a rerun will be held.

I'm sure you were absent minded in class, during your Junior secondary school days, otherwise, I don't know how a supposed graduate does not know the difference between a 'rerun election' and a 'Runoff election', and the implications thereon.

Stop arguing blindly my friend, it makes you look stupid.

Come to think of it, Alhaji Atiku came second which makes him qualify for a rerun (that if there is going to be a rerun).

But Atiku's camp are not saying anything about this, what does that tells you?

Atiku who's a veteran in Nigerian political sphere knows that the 25% in Abuja is not an issue.

I'm sure you don't know the meaning of a rerun. If there's a rerun election, all the candidates will participate. Why should Atiku be making noise over it?
