Of course. Igbos are the cause of their problems. Not stoning corrupt elites like OUK and their likes who had mortgaged the future of region is the cause of our problems. OUK is right. |
7lives:Even if the entire SE PDP caucus voted for Ekwueme, it was never going to be enough for his emergence. No, I think it's more important that as a Yoruba you stick more to worrying about your people than coming here to spew trash about Ndiigbo. |
blues20:Leave the slimy miserable Afonja alone. He isn't worth your time. see this wonderful thread opened long ago by a one time regular Igbo son here: https://www.nairaland.com/2425368/future-igboland-discipline-not-population#up I think the points he raised are still relevant. But everything points to sorting out our political leadership right first. What do you think? |
7lives:Yorubas abandoned Abiola. That he died in the prison with no fan fare is no longer news. Oh! Never knew Mulikat was a PHCN official to be providing transformers. How much has your Jagaban and Fashole embezzled from Lagos? We get it perfectly. Obj coronation in 1999 was the decision of powers that be, it had nothing to do with Yorubas as he wasn't even a Yoruba candidate. It's a pattern that when ever a stubborn Nigeria ruler is assassinated by powers that be, OBJ was always a "go to" man for the neo colonialists, as it was for Mutala, so was it for Abacha. We all saw how Awo schemes to emerge president ended up with him committing suicide, we are watching Tinubu. Don't take yourselves seriously, cos no one else does. You have bigger issues than Ndiigbo,go solve them and stop coming here to talk you trash. |
Bump. |
Arrest them all. ![]() |
LoJ:The answer you seek is complex. It's true that the only uniting factors for Nigerians are football and common shared hatred/ suspicion of the Igbo man. The foundation for Igbo current condition in Nigeria was laid in 1970, when this quote was made: "The war aim and (final) solution properly speaking of the entire problem, is to discriminate against the Igbos and in their own interest. Such discrimination would include above all the detachment of those oil-rich territories in the Eastern Region, in addition, the Igbos' freedom of movement would be restricted, to prevent their renewed penetration into other parts, leaving any access to the sea to the Igbos, is quite out of the question, "(Federal Nigerian Minister speaking to E. C. Schwarzenback, Swiss Review of Africa, February 1968). Successive Nigerian govt had stuck to that policy, and Igbo elected( selected) politicians had played along to marginalize their own people just as long as they receive crumbs from the FG for themselves and their immediate families. The only miracle here is that despite the fact that these politicians had sold out the region, they still receive support of the Igbo grass roots and commoners, which leaves one wondering what sort of people the Igbos are. Our political class can't speak for us, because they like all Nigerian politicians are corrupt and had fed off the public fund, but unlike other regions, there is a conspiracy against their( Igbo region) that must be challenged by them( the Igbo political class) but it remains a universal truth that he who comes for justice must come with clean hands. These Igbo politicians are all corrupt from A to Z, non is clean, and those who control the FG has all their corrupt deals with them, with which they continuously use to blackmail them from speaking against institutionalized marginalization of their people and whip them in line into silence. So they can't challenge the injustice against their own people without being destroyed. Their( Ndiigbo)people who should know better and vote the old eggs out of power in exchange for New breeds that can't be blackmailed know no better, they even praise the corrupt leaders to the chagrin of other Nigerians, they (Ndiigbo) had refused to look in ward's to see that their problem is an internal one, that once the internal enemies( the corrupt political class) are radically voted and pushed out of power by a new order, that not only can they challenge the institutionalized marginalization against them by the Nigerian state, they can also take their destiny into their hands. In the final analysis, the Igbo commoners take solace in the cheaper alternative ie resurrection of Biafra, for Biafra represents a period in their history in which they fought against forces bent on rulling over them, Biafra on the other hand evokes more hatred on the heart of Nigerians against Ndiigbo for myriads of reasons, who now feel that Igbo marginalization is justified since they had constituted themselves enemies of Nigeria, they reason it's only logical that the Igbo be marginalized for her own benefits and be beaten if necessary into submission and total allegiance for the Nigerian state, where the post civil war central policy will be continuously be applied on them. |
. I am not a stranger to these acts of marginalisation to the SE and I suppose these are the kind of things we should lament about. But on this issue of actualising the Mambilla dam, the LAgos to Kano rail and the Calabar to Lagos rail, I totally have no qualms; this is my personal opinion though. And right here in your impish mind. You are trying to make a devil out of Ndiigbo, for crying out for fairness, justice and equity. You are trying to subconsciously and subtly bend our cry for equity, fairness and Justice to take the form of bitterness, jealousy and hate. You are trying to make it sound like Ndiigbo are against the FG plans to site projects in Taraba, SW,SS,NW and Abuja, like we are not happy that those projects are sited there, like we don't know that those projects will not only benefit the host community but also the entire Nigerians. When in actuality, what Ndiigbo are saying is that those similar projects in spirit of equity, fairness and Justice be also sited in our region,so that it will benefit both us and other Nigerians. |
understand that the SE has been unfairly marginalised by successive admins for decades, I understand the Onitsha-Enugu roads, the PH-Enugu roads, the PH-Owerri road have no reason being the disaster they are today, I understand the SE was terribly cheated by the PPP tolling arrangement on the 2nd Niger Bridge, ironically this evil was perpetrated by a supposed friend of the SE (GEJ), I remember lamenting this PPP arrangement on this forum sometime in 2014 when it was first announced but I was shouted down by some dumb persons who claimed I was just a GEJ hater and didn't want the SE zone to progress (a very foolish allegation from people who had no clue who I was). No, you don't understand anything. You are only being annoyingly cunning. What you are trying to subtly imply here is that since the region had been shortchanged since 1970, without massive out cry from the people, there shouldn't be reason for massive out cry now that your principal( Buhari) is about to continue the tradition of shortchanging the SE invented by his predecessors. You expect us to understand and take it on the chin without complaints. |
Also, the Lagos to Kano standard rail and the Calabar to Lagos standard rail are very important projects which have been in the books for over a very long time; I agree that the Calabar to LAgos rail passes only a single SE city, but then, I would be very glad if this projects are actualised. Maybe if they can be actualised, then the spur from Benin-Asaba-Onitsha-Awka-Enugu may also be completed one day. Oh yes! The ever infinity waiting game. How long does the SE has to wait. So a whopping 18.3 billion is to be spent across the entire country, and the region wasn't considered worthy of having even 1billion invested on it. A region that was devastated by civil war and not a dime set aside to re develop it, will have to wait, while regions that had enjoyed massive investments by the FG for the past 4 decades are once again first in line, and you expect this to go down well, on the promise that in am infinite future, a similar project MAY be sited on the region, while the other regions will still get lion share during those infinite future. You are not in any bit making any sense. But I don't blame you. |
HonabFaj:Only Imo and Abia are parts of Niger Delta. Niger Delta is not SE, it even has Ondo as its part. |
If I were him, I will stay and leave as a free agent come season ending. |
obailala:So says the Afonja impostor whose idea of progressive thought for Ndiigbo is justification of the plan of the FG to totally ignore the region in a 18.3 billion infrastructural investment plan. While the rest of the 5 regions gets to enjoy such infrastructural investment with the multiplier effects that come with them Ofcourse, such Igbos like you only exists in Ijebu-Igbo. I'm only amused by your folly, only a miserable individual can display your attitudes. |
obailala:I am only crying for your life. Sucks to be you. A non Igno claiming Igbo 24hrs, one has to be shameless to pull that off. Ndo. |
obailala:Lol! Your write up was demonic because it was bereft of any iota of rationality. Addressing it would have been a waste of time as I couldn't meet you half way the wrong road. You already embarrassed yourself coming up with such irrational load of faeces. The demonic tag just fits it to a T. |
obailala:And where is the common sense in your write up? Cause all I see is load of faeces coming from a non Igbo posturing as Igbo. 18.3billion was to be spent on infrastructures and not one of those to be invested in SE, except one meant for SS that scraped through the southern tip of Abia, and in your warped logic, there is explaining of this away? Do you even listen to yourself. |
MyParadise:Yes, your last Statement is true. But sometimes, some reactions must be catalyzed to reach the end product at a shorter period, otherwise, it might still reach the end product, but might take a century to do so. What you can do? You can start by enlightening Ndiigbo around you. Awake the sleeping ones amongst us. It might seem little, but a match can create an inferno, all it needs is to properly applied on the right material. God bless you. |

7lives:Now this is the type of grand posturing by Afonjas that irritate me. Where were the Yoruba leaders and Obas who were supposed to make sacrifices for Abiola, but instead collected money from IBB and betrayed him? Where was Jakande and his greedy Yoruba leaders that connived and exposed Awolowo secrets to IBB? Where was the sacrifice? Is Tinubu not being currently cut to size by Yoruba betrayals, where then is the sacrifice from Yorubas? When Yorubas were given the speaker slot, how many speakers did they produce? Were they not all fighting themselves over the slot? Where was the sacrifice when Tinubu and his band of Yoruba scavengers in AC connived and ganged up against a Yoruba sister, Mulikat, by denying her the speaker position PDP allocated to her, and instead, they( Tinubu and his gang of Yoruba Hyenas) decided to lick the Northern ass of Tambuwal, only to turn around in future to accuse PDP and GEJ of marginalizing the region? Where was the Yoruba Sisterhood sacrifice for Mulikat? Why is it that Yorubas are yet to remove the log of wood in their eyes, but it's always the pebble in the Igbo eyes that give them headaches . What' wrong with you people? |
"What exactly has happened?... that the FG decides to borrow money to build a 3050mw hydro power dam which has been in the planning stage since 1981 and which has the capacity to almost double Nigeria's power generating capacity?" I noticed the OP keep repeating the above line, in attempt to subtly imply that the project was not a new one, but an old and abandoned one, and as there are no such old and abandoned ones in SE, the SE should accept it. It's almost like saying: "Hey, since mambila hydro project was sited in NE in 1981 and no serious project was sited in SE then, it's enough reason ignoring SE again is cool, since it's already a tradition started in 1981". |
Seriously, is this OP for real? |
mystiqueTNA:Thank you |
Twistaray:Deal with the facts and stop bitching. If after this heist:https://www.nairaland.com/2516282/before-forget You are still behind Ndiigbo, nothing else on this physical realm will put you ahead of us. https://www.nairaland.com/2576371/eastern-neighbourhoods-streets-made/30 http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/enugu-makes-history-joins-worlds-100-resilient-cities/ www.nairaland.com/3052632/states-federal-governments-external-debt https://www.nairaland.com/2732630/latest-ranking-states-financial-sustainability www.nairaland.com/2913833/again-south-east-leads-wassce-performance https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment http://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/report/384 |
Twistaray:Stats I provided already trumped all the faeces you are throwing around. Deal with it. |
Twistaray:Lol! Really? Registered phones? This is hilarious. https://www.nairaland.com/2576371/eastern-neighbourhoods-streets-made/30 http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/enugu-makes-history-joins-worlds-100-resilient-cities/ Now go and hide. |
Twistaray:The poverty index trash I had debunked time and time again here. It wasn't even conducted by the UN, but by Oxford university, who probably collected their data from the same NBS that said that Anambra state has a higher poverty index than Niger state. I will always be around to debunk those your stats, any day any time. |
obailala:Stop talking trash. The rail doesn't cut across south East. It touched the tail end of Abia state. That's not Good enough and will never be acceptable. If the FG build another railway line that transverses throughout the major SE cities on its way to Lagos or Abuja, will not benefit the Rest of other Nigerians? Will only SEners use it? Will other Nigerians not make use of the rail? Are there no other Nigerians living in the SE? What is good for the goose is good for the gander too. |
dustydee:SE would happily welcome to host the capital of Nigeria as NC had done with commensurate capital that Nigeria had poured on Abuja poured into this new Capital to be hosted by SE. You are not a wise person. That train route totally avoided the SE only touching the periphery. |
MyParadise:God can not do for man, what man. must do for himself. If Israelis sat waiting for God, they wouldn't be where they are now, the Arabs would have devoured them. Relegating problems with practical solutions for God is not the forte of the wise men, Our house is not in order. We need a total clean up of all the political jobbers representing us in Abuja, and the governors. How can such injustice be perpetrated against a region they claim to represent and not a single dust raised by them, how do you explain this? Who do they represent? because obviously, it's not Ndiigbo. If it be true that they don't represent us, why then do we still have Obiano, Ekwerewmmadu, Gburugburu, Ikpeazu, Umahi, Abaribe, etc supporters in our midst. Isn't it obvious that those political jobbers had failed the region? Our problem is a practical one, not a spiritual one. We need a radical in-house cleaning. This next election should provide us with that platform, but I'm in tears when I remember that the youth wing IPOB/MASSOB who should usher this paradigm shift are as delusional and clueless as they come and can't seem to set their priorities right. It's a pathetic situation Ndiigbo found ourselves in, my heart bleeds just thinking of it. |

COMPAQ:If there are no mega projects in the SE, it's because the FG never started one. So because SE was deprived of those mega projects, is now a justification not to start one? As for the Agricultural myth. Nigeria is a net importer of most of its food needs. The SE is doing good agriculturally, and there are stats to back this up. If the North has huge landmass, then it's their albatross to carry, as the same landmass had ensured they got more federal allocations and the SE lesser and lesser farmlands to their natives, as opposed to more for the North, the SE must not be made the bear the blunt of the North landmass, when she also bears the blunt of her own smaller landmass with its attendant population density and Erosions from human pressure. The larger distances in the North should be a disadvantage to them in this case, while those of SE should for once be its advantage, as the North will require more funds for roads than the SE. Aba and Onitsha are bubbling Commercial centres with Urgent needs, Aba in particular, and Enugu is a standard city, so I fail to see why we should be shortchanged for Kano. |
