That Uwakwe of a woman is even more harsh to her fellow Drs. Gosh that women is something else. Her problem is trying to change alot at a short time. She lacks tact, that's her problem. But you can be sure that all her actions has been to restore glory to that health institution. |
vodutive:Gowon was the epitome of incompetence, corruption and embezzlement all rolled into one. Gowon squandered all the profits Nigeria made from the crude oil boom of the 70's and left no tangible savings or infrastructural investment commensurate with the profits Nigeria made. He was also a power hungry dictator who refused to hand over to civilian regime and had to be booted out. Buhari committed treason when he conspired with his group of sociopaths to destroy our nascent democracy, he was also an incompetent autocratic ruler with no respect for rule of law. He equally served in Abacha's government. A self acclaimed incorruptible one that rolled and dined with the most corrupt ruler in Nigerian history. Buhari is also a liar who lied to protect the interests of the Abacha family when he insisted that Abacha never stole. Gowon and Buhari are true reflections of what Nigeria represents today, ie failure and incompetence. It is true that a country is a true reflection of its leaders and the leaders a true reflection of its people. |
AlphaCentauri:Point is that Awolowo was a filthy rich crook, who was found guilty of misappropriation of public funds before the war, and who after the war masterminded the greatest heist in Nigeria History that saw him and his Yoruba cronies hijacking all the foreign companies in Nigeria via the indigenization policy. It was like Gowon gift to them for their role and support during the war. It's impossible for Awolowo to not be filthy rich after the he masterminded the Yoruba Indigenization heist of foreign companies. That's the point. |
CliffordOrji:Like Awo chose to run away from Life by committing suicide in otapiapia style, instead of running away to exile like IBB demanded of him? Zik left Biafra when the diplomatic war was lost by Biafra and it became obvious that the Caucasian powerers had closed ranks and were going to hunt in pack against Biafra. Even at that, he was never part of Gowon government. Ojukwu left Biafra when it was obvious the war Was already lost. You wanted his head to use to cajole Biafrans, but we denied you that luxury by making sure he was buried a Hero and not as a rebel. You can wail more if you like, but you will discover that in the final analysis, it wasn't Ojukwu or Zik that gave Awolowo the rat poison that killed him. |
AlphaCentauri:https://www.nairaland.com/3252496/how-awolowo-helped-celebrating-mediocrity |
CliffordOrji:Zik represents the top class. He was never allowed the level of control he craved for by Ojukwu in Biafra, he left Biafra for Nigeria when he saw that the tide had turned against Biafra, seeing as all the world powers backed Nigeria. That Arthur Nzeribe story, I'm yet to see any official documentd evidence by any neutral party supporting it. Even if it were so, if Nzeribe didn't sell to Nigerians, other middle men would have still done so, so I don't think his refusal or acceptance would have had any difference on the final outcome of the war, though it do raise questions about his moral sanctity as a person. Well Awo did cowardly abandone Yorubas to your fate by chickening out of life and ending his miserarable life by taking rat poison, if only to save Yorubas the shame of learning that their self acclaimed sage was out foxed by the North and then forced to commit treason( for the second time and was yet again caught). I think in the light of the above, you of all people as a Yoruba has no right to be talking about Ojukwu. |
... |
AlphaCentauri:Lol! Awolowo was filthy rich after he acquired most of the foreign companies through proxies after the Indigenization programme . Don' be deceived. Even before that programme, Awo was rich. It was right over the sole distributorship of Coca cola between Awo and Akintola wives that further fuelled the feud between the two. The Rich battle each other for prominence, it's always a never ending Machiavellian schemes amongst them up there to retain control of each other and then the poor masses. |
AlphaCentauri:And the rich don't eat each other? Was it not Awolowo rich Yoruba allies like Jakande that betrayed him to IBB? Was Abiola not betrayed by his rich Northern friends and Yoruba ones and allowed to die? Friendship amongst the rich is like wine, it's sweet, but blood will always be thicker. The Jews discovered that the hard way during the pogrom. Ndiigbo the same, during the counter coup massacres. |
It's always the case that those who know not how to treat people with respect, always demand to be respected by others. |
Orikinla:This same "tribalist" Afonja that has been posturing as Igbo man. ![]() So you couldn't hide your Igbophobia any longer? The Afonja genes in you just couldnt allow you. |
Not just that. He is also a corrupt fellow. Who served under the most corrupt administration in Nigeria, ie the Abacha administration. He is also a liar, who lied that Abacha did not steal from Nigeria, despite myriads of evidence proving the contrary. Nigeria and Buhari deserves each other. I'm only pained that my beloved Igboland is trapped in a failed nation ruled by incompetent corrupt ruler. |
…as Police arrest two, uncovers shrines A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Honourable Harrison Adeyemi, has given a clue how fraudsters operating in the thicket of the forest of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area (LGA), Ogun State, lured him to their den. Adeyemi representing Ogun waterside State Constituency who assisted the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 2, Mr Abdulmajid Ali, and Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command to burst the fraudsters’ den at Siun area of the LGA, on Wednesday said he was duped by the operators of the den. Two people were arrested in connection with the den while the lawmaker is believed to be their latest victim, having lost N15,000 to them. Narrating his ordeal in their hands, the lawmaker told reporters that he got airtime worth N1,500 through a text message from one of the fraudsters, but returned it to sender. “They told me they are ‘Agbomola’ and they could assist me. But I ignored them. They were persistent and I decided to visit them. “But when I got there, I discovered it was all scam. But I played along with them, they told me to drop money at each shrine point, and I had to drop N1,000 each at 15 points, they introduced to me,” he said. According Albdumajid Ali, the fraudsters allegedly persuaded the lawmaker to bring another N40m and a lady when next he visit the site. And when they did not see him after some weeks, they started pestering and threatened him. Ali added that the fraudsters had been in the business for sometime before they were caught. He said: “we have got a lot of report about them. And we decided to swoop on them, two of them were arrested and others are at large. “ http://thenationonlineng.net/fraudsters-lured-den-ogun-lawmaker/ |
By Simon Ebegbulem BENIN—THE Benin National Congress, BNC, a socio-cultural organization in Edo State, has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing the management of Benin Owena River Basin Authority, BORBDA, of marginalizing the Binis in appointments and promotions. It alleged that the management is favouring Yorubas despite the fact that BORBDA is located in their soil. In the petition to the President by Dr. David Ekomwenrenren, its Director of Publicity, the BNC claimed that but for the coronation of the Oba of Benin, a grand protest by Edo youths and women carrying mock coffins would have been staged yesterday to express their resentments. The group described as corrupt, crass chauvinism, alarming violation of the Civil Service rules, unbridled disregard for federal character by the current management. The letter listed some of the alleged illegalities against the Binis by the management to include, alleged “perpetuation in office after due retirement date of August 2016, and after 35 years of service by the Managing Director. Illegal recruitment of senior staff, four of whom are from his Okitipupa clan in Ondo State. “Yorubanization of three out of the four departments against the spirit and letters of federal character, amounting also to an unprovoked attack on the sensibilities of Edo intelligentsia, who are host to the Federal agency. Yorubanization of the BORBDA management Committee. It is an incontrovertible fact that of the 10 members of the committee, eight are Yorubas, and Yoruba language has been adopted as the BORBDA lingua franca, with the endorsement of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Water Resources, who seems to be aiding and abetting the management. “In the light of the above groundswell negations of civil service rules, indigenous employment quota, and etiquette of public administration, we humbly demand the immediate and unconditional sack of the Managing Director of BORBDA; the appointment of an Edo man or woman in his stead; the resuscitation of a sense of harmonious relations between the interventionist agency and Edo communities who have been systemically annihilated by a federal civil service cabal from Ondo State.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/binis-allege-marginalization-benin-owena-river-basin-authority-2/ |
By Evelyn Usman Operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad, Zone 2, Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, have uncovered a ritualists’ den at Abule Ifa, Siun area of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State, arresting two suspected leaders of the syndicate. Recovered inside the massive den were several fetish materials and assorted charms. The den The visit, as explained by the AIG, was to have an on-the-spot assessment of the den and also to design possible legal means of taking over the den, which he described as dangerous. By Abdulwahab Abdulah & Jane Echewodo LAGOS—Three years after he was accused of defiling an eight-year old girl (names withheld), one Tajudeen Soneye, was yesterday sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour by a Lagos High court. Justice Atinuke Ipaye, sitting in Ikeja Division of the state High Court, who convicted Soneye, described the crime as incurable. The convict, married with one wife and five children, was arrested on June 15, 2013 at Iyora Primary School, Badejoko Street, Ketu, for rape. Soneye, also known as Baba Seriki, pleaded not guilty while he was arraigned on a count-charge of rape by the Lagos State government. According to the state prosecutor, Mr. Akin George, the convict sent his victim to buy cigarettes for him. On her arrival, the convict forcefully removed her cloth, pushed her on the bed and had sex with her. He noted that after having sexual intercourse with the victim, Soneye threatened to harm her if she told anyone. Under investigation, the victim claimed that it was not the first time the convict did such to her. The prosecution also told the court that the victim did not speak out until when she resumed school and a teacher noticed the way she walked and queried her. According to him, the school took her to the hospital, where she was confirmed to have been raped, adding that it was the school that raised the alarm, which led to the arrest of the convict. In her judgment, Justice Ipaye held: “I, hereby sentence you to 10 years imprisonment.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/father-5-jailed-10-years-raping-8-yr-old/ |

datribune:This is the same Zombie talk that ushered incompetent Buhari into Aso Rock in 2015 again. The ignorance of the average Nigerian is astronomical. The civilian government came on board in 1979, and the global oil glut took place in 1980. Prior to 1979, world oil prices had been on the high side, Gowon and his finance minister Awo squandered them all without any improvement in our infrastructures or external reserves, the oil crisis of 1973 caused by the Yom kippur war where the Arab nations placed oil embargo on Western nations mainly USA for their support of Israel during the war, raised global oil prices even more. But guess what, Gowon squandered them all and shared them amongst his cronies, the Yorubas that manned the various government parastatals also got their own share trickling in, but it wasn't enough, so they conspired and initiated the indigenization policy, which placed all the foreign companies in Yoruba hands. And remember, oil prices was still at its global high during this period. Gowon continued his looting and embezzlement spree until he was booted out by Mutala Muhammad, who continued where Gowon stopped. He ( Mutala) would even borrow more money in the name of building infrastructures, with stupidity that oil prices will remain at all time high for him to pay them back in the future. Mutala was killed, OBJ came in,and the looting and borrowing spree amidst high global crude oil prices continued. Now OBJ handed over to the civilian( Shagari) government in 1979, and bang! In 1980, the global oil glut happened. Crude oil prices came at all time low, (the problems of the middle East ie Iranian revolution and the Yom yippur war were over and the industrialized nations were having slow economic activity leading to decline in global oil demand). Meanwhile, the military dictators( Gowon, Murtala and OBJ) left no substantial savings nor improved infrastructures during the oil boom of the 1970s, instead they left high amount of debts. Add this to the fact that the Yorubas who bought off the public companies had all ran them to the ground and the public sector had almost collapsed. So here are the problems the Shagari government faced: 1, Low crude oil income 2 Debts left over by the military dictators for the civilian leaders to service 3. Public sector not vibrant enough to cushion the effect of low oil prices. 4. No 3 led to high unemployment rate. The end result was recession. So the hardship in the land became severe. Yes the Shagari government officials were no saints, but the shout of corruption given as an excuse for Buhari and his bunch of psychopaths military men to nip our nascent democracy on the bud, was a hoax! Given that the military boys, were the ones that looted all our gains from the oil boom of the 70's. Buhari himself failed to manage the recession and the down turn in the economic fortunes of the country, and ended up sending the country further into abyss. |
Your emotions made you buy biafra passports, a passport to nowhere Your emotions made you believe whenever they say Vladimir Putin will send missiles to Nigeria so as to actualize biafra The truth is you guys are weak emotionally, you let your emotions do the thinking for you instead of your brain and you will forever be controlled through your emotions . We don't need an alliance with the south east, We just need our media to tell you what you want to hear, then you will forever continue to do our bidding And where exactly has your hate led you to so far? Awolowo hate and envy of Ndiigbo led him to align with the North, he was led by hate emotion and greed, like a lamb to slaughter he marched on, basking in his folly and treachery that he and his Afonja sychophants dressed up as "sophistication", was the benefit of his hate induced actions not transient? Was it not 9 years later when he shamelessly trudged on to our lands seeking for our alliance against his one time Northern friends? Did he not end up committing suicide? Have you not come in full cycle again, first your hate and envy for Ndiigbo made you to align with the North to remove an Ogbia man, simply because he called Ndiigbo the pillar of his administration. You thought you won, just like Awo thought he won. Was your victory dance not transient again? Has Tinubu not repeated Awo path, simply because both were driven by same emotion, ie hate for Ndiigbo? Are you not here again cap in hand seeking for alliance with same people you felt you won not long ago? Surely, like Awo ended up, so will Tinubu, if he doesn't understand his place and play the role of subservient slave that he is to the North, and stop running from pillar to post trying to live up to delusional heights you lots had placed him. We will all be here observing. Like Awo was thrown into the political Ocean to drown when he came seeking for alliance from us to topple the North, so will Tinubu and his Afonja supporters. History is about repeating itself because Afonjas are driven by only one emotion ie hate for Ndiigbo, and this time around, Ndiigbo are more than ready to return your hate back to you, 1 million fold. And oh! You control no media. This is ICT age, people get their info from online forums more than those your propaganda newspaper. Heck, to an average Igbo man in ariaria RB and RB Facebook page are his main sources of news. |
Did they just call Nigeria "under developed" ? ![]() They even tried. More like Failed country. |
ImperialYoruba:We have unlimited supply of beautiful women. I understand why FFK would leave the ugly Yoruba women for Igbo queens, who no like better thing. ![]() |
ImperialYoruba:Just simple word of endorsement from Ojukwu, and TA orji and Peter Obi were both elected by Ndiigbo. Too bad TA turned out bad. Unlike Awo that was sold out by Yoruba people to IBB and forced to commit suicide with rat poison or face treason charges. Sucks to be Awo. |
omofunaab:Lol! How exactly is FFK using us? As he is going to end up in the prison, are we going to go there with him? Are we going to hold mega protests for his release? ![]() FFK is a tool we are working up. You think we have forgotten his outrageous Igbophobic article in 2013? Ndiigbo don't easily forget, so don't think for once we forgot who the real FFK is. As for Fayose, we know his end game, you Afonjas had so much over used your treachery game that it has lost every bit of its element of surprise, you have become monotonous and easily deciphered. I only pity you lots. As it stands, politically, you are worthless. No reasonable person will go into alliance with you. You just have to accept the Northern hegemony like the Rest of us, but unlike you, we have Hope. |
riddler4real:That boat had sinced sailed. After 1967-70, Ndiigbo have reached a point of no return with Yorubas. The only way we are ever co operating with Yorubas politically again is as independent nations. The easiest way for an Igbo politician to commit political suicide is to be perceived to be associated with Yorubas or in alliance with them. Ask Ngige how it turned out for him. |
We can always get you anytime we want. We can control your entire race through your emotions just like Fayose, femi fani kayode are doing. Infact those guys are doing a good job for the yorubas, they keep you busy, They give you topics to wail about, you echo whatever they have to say, their words becomes yours too. No Igbo man is deceived by Fayose and FFK antics. We know that in the final analysis, "ife agwo muru aghaghi idi ogonogo" , Afonja will always be an Afonja. We are just using them by cheering them, cause we take joy in anything that brings discomfort to this government, and FFK and Fayose seem to be doing just that. Don't get yourself deceived. |
I bet if they got the North to back their illicit demand for special recognition for Lagos, they wouldn't remember Ndiigbo. They will be here telling us how sophisticated they were, how they were able to use their intelligence to negotiate things their own way, how Jagaban is the coolest thing since sliced bread. ![]() Only naive or selfish/ greed driven Igbos speak of any alliance with SW. Cursed be the day Ndiigbo will form any form of alliance with SW. ![]() |
kedeojo:An Afonja, I guess. |
