Tinubu's latest rants shows that he already knows he will lose.

He didn't rant he was setting the records straight for Ogun delegates who have the choice between Osibanjo and Tinubu....the only way to win some over is to let them know what really happened....he sacrificed his VP slot for Osibanjo....Infact according to him he refused to submit 3 names he had in mind so that the Northern cabal will not add a 4th name and choose that person. He submitted only Osibanjo's name....the version of the story the Osibanjo team was peddling amounts to "erasing him from history" according to Tinubu....he also noted it is the first time he ever had to tell the story

The John Oyegun screening panel is reported to have cleared all 23 aspirants contesting to be APC candidate for the 2023 election.

Before travelling to Spain it was reported that Buhari called a meeting of APC governors to reveal his preferred presidential aspirant. However instead of the awaited revelation Buhari made a long speech and asked the governors to give him a name.

Although Buhari is entitled to have a preferred aspirant, if he wanted that aspirant to win he should have given support to his candidate before the sale of forms begin. As it stands now it is too late to have a consensus without an implosion of the APC. I think the APC will have a primary with many dramas.

He said Buhari has vowed never to contest elections again....he went to Kaduna to convince him to run again.....and without him Buhari would not be president. In that he's right.

However these claims are unnecessary when primaries will hold in 4 days....if the governors that signed Tinubu’s form deliver their states with the additional inroads he's made during consultation I think Tinubu will win the nomination.

Buhari may have a candidate but it will be difficult to imposse that candidate now that all aspirant have put in the work....Buhari should have made it known before every Dick and Harry started declaring....

When Lawan steps down for Tinubu at the convention what will Kalu do? Igbos are smart but when it comes to Nigerian politics I can't use "smart" for Igbos.....the whole rush to buy APC presidential form is a political game....some aspirants are sponsored by Tinubu himself....Kalu's game plan is too plain to read...hence he will loose.....Tinubu may even be Buhari's choice....but real political games are kept close to one's chest until the joker is needed

Tinubu is a leader in Yoruba land...most of the prominent Yorubas in politics today (including Osibanjo) were raised by Tinubu....including opposition members...even Sunday Igboho had been blessed by Tinubu ( Igboho said he visited Tinubu many years ago and Tinubu gave him #1 million). Tinubu however has so much power that many fear he's becoming a god in the political space. In Lagos for example if Tinubu speaks there are millions willing to carry out his command even if it doesn't make any sense.

Osibanjo was brought into LASG by Tinubu. Osibanjo served as Commissioner of Justice and he is a gentleman. many have said Osibanjo did not use his good office to better the lives of Yorubas apart from his family members and friends....he is considered by many as selfish....and more recently a traitor who should not be trusted....Osibanjo surrounds himself with Aregbesola and Ojudu who are not seen as straightforward men...Osibanjo has a good advantage in making a case that it is the turn of a christian to be president and as a vice president he's more than qualified to be in that office....others have said Osibanjo is not respected in the north....and to become a president you need a good support in the north...

I believe Yorubas will support either Tinubu or Osibanjo if they become APC candidate

These papers claimed last week that Tinubu has been cleared by the screening committee when the screening hasn't happened.

I don't think they know...if Buhari had preferred Osibanjo...Osibanjo will not release a SUG type video to declare. He would likely declare inside Aso rock. Infact Tinubu would probably not be running....The likes of Aregbesola and Ojudu propping him up won't be the lead figure..

I think it is unclear whether Buhari really had a choice or he's just deciding as events are unfolding. Adesina claimed to know the preferred candidate though but I think he was bluffing.....

Osibanjo need to appeal to some contestants to step down for him....and he needs to make way with APC governors.....every governor is calculating...who can win the general election?....they don't want to be in opposition...some of them are waiting to be federal ministers or ambassador.....With Atiku leading PDP...and Obi in Labour.....Kwankwanso in NNPP......the permutation will finally be who can win a general election.

If Buhari had wanted to interfere and make sure they returned elected, he would have had his way no matter whose ox is gored. The man purposely left all state Governors to do their thing without his interference, so that when he hand picks his own successor, if anyone tries to raise an eyebrow, he will refer them to how he gave them free hands at the state level.

Lol...Buhari can't control state governors and delegates....unfortunately loyalty, self interest and dollars are the currency of primaries...the only way Buhari can influence the outcome of national convention is to persuade aspirants to choose a consensus or step down for his candidate
