A High Court sitting in Kano on Thursday again ordered Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi ll to maintain status quo in respect of the interim order issued against the governor on May 10.

Reports that on May 10, the court through the ex-parte application by the applicant, Rabiu Gwarzo restrained Ganduje and all other respondents in the case from appointing or recognising any purported emir under the Kano state Emirs Appointment And Disposition Amendment Law 2019, pending the hearing of motion on notice.

The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has placed a ban on the sale of ‘sniper’ (insecticide) in open markets and supermarkets.

NAFDAC’s Director, Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr. Bukar Usman, who made this known on Wednesday at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan said that the agency had asked agro-dealers to stop the sale of the product in open markets and supermarkets.

The Imo State chapter of the Action Alliance, AA, has withdrawn its governorship election petition against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

This was contained in a statement signed Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze, National Chairman of the party.

The party and its governorship candidate, Uche Nwosu, had approached the Governorship Election Tribunal in the state to seek redress after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Ihedioha and PDP winner of the election.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has alleged that there were campaigns of calumny to de-market the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, by the State Governor, Nyesom Wike and a former Rivers lawmaker, Senator Magnus Abe.



He said the campaigns were a mere waste of time and effort in futility, describing them as acts of witchcraft, diabolical, wicked, unjust and unacceptable.

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday, conducted a supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 490 candidates, whose Computer-Based Test centres were earlier suspended for malpractices and other infractions.
