Can't you guys see the name? The guy is high on something.

Note that even Gani was denied SANship for years. It was not because of his performance as a lawyer. SANship has been politicized. Mr Falana is an excellent lawyer no doubt about that.

Just take a look at the list. It is populated by the southerners. I believe that most of these guys stand out in their profession. Why is the bench especially the appeal court and the supreme court populated by the northerners? Is it quota system thing?
RomanceRe: Will You consider a Genotype Test Before Marriage? by ikachi1: 3:26pm On Jul 12, 2012
Like one of the contributors said here, this question is a no brainer. If a man is AS or SS he should ensure that the partner is AA and nothing else. Medical science has not yet made a break through on the cure for sickle cell but there are improvements on the cares that could elongate the life of an SS carrier but these cares cost money. Doing a genotype test before marriage is like planning your life. As the saying goes, "A failure to plan is a perfect plan to fail"

clemmonce: did people actually use slate to write in those days ?
Yes people used slate provided by Government in then midwest state. When governement slates mainly made of card boards were getting damaged without replacement, (e don Tay wen govt de deal with man pipkin) we were forced to patronize the carpenters. Pupils change to this kind of excessive book from primary two. In primary two, you can only use pencil. Usage of pen holder which was dipped into a bottle of ink starts from primary 3. Your fingers, teeth, toe nails and neatness of uniforms were inspected on weekly basis. Your note books are also inspected by the teacher to ensure you have copied all the notes and done all your home works. Good old days!

Haba! Cane wen man chop for yash for tearing the cover of this exercise book no be small. I was forced to take every new one to my teacher uncle to fold it with an old newspaper. I think we use to have different ones for hand writing, arithmetic and English. This note book dates back to the 60s and was by Nigeria Apex Mill if I am right. Brings back memory of "Nigeria we hail thee, our own dear native land.........."

PoliticsRe: Who Would You Prefer For Nigeria's Next President by ikachi1: 10:49am On Jun 30, 2012
I do not know why Tinubu and Fasola were bunched together. Fasola is a good sell but Tinubu spoils the show. Though he is a very brave man and can take on anybody, he is too meterialistic and corrupt. My clear choice in this case would be Dangote. A man who can build his empire to become the richest african can take this nation to the desired level if given the chance. I bet the presidency is not in his agenda. Alternative would be Governo Amechi of Rivers state.

This John must be a fool. He is still living in the last millenium. Why not rob the central bank? He should be talking billions and trillions and not thousands. He should have been able to buy judge Awoku....hin to handle his case and he will surely be freed. I pity him! Even the devil will blame him for this foolishness.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Security Tips You Might Find Useful. . . by ikachi1: 2:56pm On Jun 21, 2012
Always pin your car doors and wind up your glasses when in hold ups.

If you live around Warri or Benin, avoid using flashy cars because you will be marked for kidnapping.

The way you dress might give you away as well. Do not dress to kill. Dress moderately.

Select your company. Do not make friends that you do not know their means of livlihood.

Avoid boasting of what you are and what you have in public.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Wants All Christians To Convert To Islam by ikachi1: 5:27pm On Jun 18, 2012
Folks, I am a Christain whose best friends are mostly muslims. I do not need an imam to tell me that those Boko haramist are not muslims. What they are doing has no place in Islam. Not even in the Koran I bet you. The Koran does not encourage any muslim to kill defenceless people, women and children. The Koran also encourages the acquisition of Knowledge through education for the good of mankind. THEY ARE SIMPLY TERRORIST and I hope and pray that we all see them as such. They might be agents of goverment to justify the huge security budget for that is the only budget that can not be audited according to law. Free money being justified Period!

TravelRe: List Of Nigerian Planes And Their Ages - Read This Before You Fly. by ikachi1: 11:38pm On Jun 05, 2012
A plane is a machine. Like your cars, if the recommended preventive maintenances are done as at and when due, it can serve for a very long time. We should also note that planes are upgraded from time to time and as new technologies are invented, some are incorporated into the old machines. The problem with a typical Nigerian organization is maintenance. It is the culture we lack and has been the major factor responsible for the collapse of most machine establishments. If we do our research, you will find out that even British Airways has aircrafts in their fleet that may be over 40 years. So, let us face reality here. The monitoring agencies must ensure that maintenances are carried out according to OEM recommendations. ABS, Lloyds, DNV, BV etc does this for ships and if they fall short of these recommendations, the ship's class is withdrawn. I am sure there are things like that with aircrafts.
Car TalkRe: When Do You Use Your Car Hazard Light? by ikachi1: 11:48pm On May 26, 2012
Hazard light as the name denotes indicate either that your car has become by virtue of usage or condition a hazard to other road users. It could also be warning that there is hazard in front of you. In conclusion, it is a warning to other road users that something don't seem right with either your car or the road you are traveling. Some people use it to indicate that they are going straight on but this is wrong.
CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by ikachi1: 7:44pm On May 26, 2012
Odenigbo Aroli: Whats the population of Bini today, now go back to11century and tell me whats their likely population during their so called "golden age"! Now you why i maintained that Bini is overrrated! The only thing that made them popular was their arts and nothing more!
What is the population of Iraq? The bible tells us the Arabs, Africans, the Isrealis and even Europeans are from Oraq. What is the population of Nri where the Ibos claim to be their first settlement? You argue like primary school kids.
CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by ikachi1: 7:18pm On May 26, 2012
shymmex: Why do they have to bury the head in Yoruba land, and not bini? You guys need to stop making up falsehoods... And olukun is Yoruba!! How can a landlocked bini kingdom worship okun (atlantic ocean) without riverine people?? Even physicsQED won't argue against that..

Bini was landlocked!! Olokun is a Yoruba god, period.
Ever heard of the port at Ughoton? I said get your facts right! Bini is not land locked! You fail to realize that the coast of west Africa is called the bight of Benin.
CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by ikachi1: 7:12pm On May 26, 2012
Odenigbo Aroli: Believe me I still havent seen what makes Bini so special; They propagated a lie that their kingdom extended to Dahomey but that was a danm lie! Tell me what so great about the oudated Bini kingdom?
You argue like a child. There was a time the Roman empire extended through out the whole of Europe, Africa and even Asia minor. Today Italy is smaller than the Gauls. (Germans and some French) Latin use to be a language spoken by many. Today, it is no more. Used only in churches. Empires rise and fall. That does not destroy the fact that the empire existed and prosperred. I was witness to Mathew Kerekou's visit to Benin. They had just changed their country's name from Dahomey to Benin. He explained the reason why they did that. They trace their origin to Benin. Whether you like to hear that or not, that is the way it is. If you disagree with something, you must have a different idea with facts. Tell your facts please.
CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by ikachi1: 6:57pm On May 26, 2012
shymmex: The same bini had to pay the Ijesha warrior (can't remember his name) not to invade ibini.. Believe whatever pseudo-scholarship you want to believe, but bini NEVEr ruled over Ijebu..

If you guys ruled over us, we should have some bini words, and links - but we don't have any.. Maybe, you guys are confusing the itsekiris (who're mostly of ijebu descent) with us..
Liar! The Itsekiris are from Bini who intermarried with the Ilajes and developed a language with Edo and Yoruba derivatives.
CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by ikachi1: 6:53pm On May 26, 2012
shymmex: Bini history is overrated, and will always overrated till you tell me why you guys buried your oba heads in ile ife...

Where did bini empire start and end?? Yoruba on the other hand extended to far away ghana...

Even Yoruba bronzes were called the lost arts of atlantis.. Bini can never be compared to Yoruba.. Your olokun worship is from yoruboid groups..

Just leave this topic, plz..
Bini Obas head use to be buried in Ile Ife because it was an agreement reached with Oranmiyan who was a son of a Bini emigrant Izoduwa (Oduduwa). Haba my friend! Bini art is known all over the world and was even the symbol used for the FESTAC festival! Even the coast of Nigeria is called bight of Benin. And who told you that Olokun worship originated from Yoruba land? Get your facts right.
CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by ikachi1:
alj harem: ikachi, my brother I am waiting for an explanation of the Obaship in Kwara and co
From my explanation of Bini link with the Yorubas, you can decide by yourself. If the obaship in Kwara and Kogi are Yoruba linked, you have the answer already. Even within the Yorubas, there were and still there are many kingdoms. This does not exclude them from being Yorubas. I read in one of the dailies long time ago during the chairmanship of the council of Obaship tussle in Yoruba land where the Owa Obokun of Ijesha land even claimed not to be from Ofuduwa's line. Where are they from and how did they get the name Oba? The fist known Oba happened to be a Bini. Oduduwa was not called an Oba was he? Neither was Oranmiyan who was said to be the first Alafin?
