morereb10: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has said that all computer-based centres to be accredited for the registration of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), must now have Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.
This was revealed by JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, during an interactive meeting with operators of CBT centres from across the country, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Oloyede explained that this was necessary, to avoid errors of the past. He also stated that the new process has made cybercafe operators redundant, as the computer-based centres to be accredited must have 250 desktop or laptop systems in a single room, with provision for additional 25 systems as back-ups.
Oloyede said: “What we have said is that we are in a period of change, and what that means is that everything we have been doing must be reviewed. Whatever we have been doing rights will have to be reinforced while what were doing wrongly will be changed.
“For the purpose of the CBT centres, we have to introduce the CCTV so that whatever that is going on at our centres can be monitored anywhere in the world. “We are also standardizing the CBT centres so that all CBT centres will have 250 computers with 10 per cent of the figure as backups.”
What do you think guys ?

dumebiifeanyi: Suspect remanded in custody for $8,674 USD fraud
Pleads not guilty
Remanded in prison till December 6th
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on Monday November 28, 2016, docked one Okwara Victory before Justice I.B Gafai of the Federal High Court Awka in Anambra State, for charges bothering on obtaining by false pretense to the tune of $8,674USD. When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty on all counts of the three count charge preferred against him by the EFCC. In view of his plea, the Defense Counsel Barr. Emma Onyibor applied for the bail of his client adding that his client had been on administrative bail granted him by the EFCC, and had not defaulted but reported regularly to the EFCC whenever he was needed. But the Prosecuting Counsel Barr. Habila Jonathan informed the court that he was served the motion for bail, shortly before court proceeding and needed time to study and respond.
The court upheld the argument of the EFCC counsel as the Judge was yet to study the bail application which the defense also served the court shortly before proceedings. The court then ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody, while the case was adjourned to December 6, 2016, for hearing and consideration of bail.
One of the charge against the accused person reads: That you Okwara Victory sometime in the month of April 2016 at Onitsha within Awka Jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, with intent to defraud did obtained the sum of N1,332,420 (one million three hundred and thirty two thousand four and twenty naira) being the naira equivalent of $4,190 (Four Thousand One Hundred and Ninety US Dollars) from one Ekweaba Oyemechi when you falsely represented yourself to him that your girlfriend who lives in America will send you $4,190 (Four Thousand One Hundred Ninety US Dollars ) meant for your return ticket to America, a pretence you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section1(1)(a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act of 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.

Samtexjohn1: Afro-pop music star, 9ice narrowly escaped an armed robbery attack in Lagos days ago..
A source close to the Gongo Aso crooner said the attack happened at about midnight of Sunday 6 November at Town Planing Way in Ilupeju, Lagos.
The multiple award-winning singer was heading to a show on the Island and about to swing towards the Anthony Village bridge to connect the Gbagada Expressway when an ash-coloured SUV with four armed men inside abruptly stopped and blocked 9ice’s Mercedes Benz car.
The source said immediately the singer saw the gun-wielding hoodlums walking towards his car, he braved the odd and put the car in reverse before turning towards Coker Road in the same Ilupeju neighbourhood.
“He was brave and lucky to escape as the guys could not catch up with him after noticing their evil plans,” the source said.
In a message by 9ice sent to our correspondent through his PR reps, stated; ”I thank God for that narrow escape. I couldn’t ever imagine what I experienced on that Sunday night. Of course, their intention is to rob me of the car but only God could tell what they could do next. But I thank God for the escape.”

Politics › Re: Teachers Sent Abroad For Training Have Absconded - Jigawa Govt by ikemesit4477: 1:27pm On Oct 25, 2016 |
EdifiedCEO: Jigawa State Government has disclosed that some teachers said to have gone for in-service courses in universities across the world, have graduated but has since refused to report to their place of work.
The action of those teachers compelled the government to further suspend indefinitely in-service training courses and set up special committee to find those involved and other teachers receiving salaries without coming to work, Vanguard reports.
The government was furious that the teachers betrayed its trust by remaining abroad when their expertise was needed back home.
Lamenting the development, the Head of Service, Mohammed Inuwa Tahir, told journalists yesterday that some workers spent 14 to 15 years studying.
He said: “What kind of degree course does a worker spend 15 years studying and still collecting salaries.
“Our government will not condone laziness and unfair act by some workers who have the habit of completing their study and refusing to report back to their place of work.”
The officials said the screening committee was established to fish out absentees and ghost workers, contrary to some insinuations that it was set up to witch-hunt workers.

Romance › Re: Different Ages Of Unmarried Guys And The Way They See Romance. by ikemesit4477: 9:16am On Oct 23, 2016 |
Toks2008: Romantic relationship is a major developmental milestone in our lives. It comes with all the other changes going on in our lives from our adolescent stages to adulthood in relation to physical, social and emotional factors and are linked to growing interest in our body image, looks, independence and responsibilities.
As one who had gone through teenage years to adulthood,I can confidently say I have a clue as to how guys see romance from the teenage years to adulthood and while this may not apply to every guy,it holds true in most cases so I present to you the different ages of guys and the way they see romance.
18 to 23: I call this stage the clueless stage Guys at this stage don't even know what it means to be in a romantic affair other than the trills of sex and unfortunately guys in this stage are highly irrational emotionally and will not think twice before taking any action.Ladies dating guys in this category should be ready to have their emotions toyed with because nothing good usually comes out of it.
24 to 29: This is the unserious stage. Guys at this stage tend to be very unserious and can be very indecisive because they are too young for commitment A guy at this stage usually have many ladies clamoring for his attention. Any lady who becomes sexually careless with this set of guys should brace up to be a baby mama because settling down is not in their plan as many of them are still trying to find their bearing.. Most guys who marry at this stage are forced to do that probably after putting a lady in the family way and she proves hard to discard. Ladies looking for a real romance have a slim chance with this set of guys.
30 to 35:This is the decisive stage for guys. At this stage even if they are still willing to play around, the family will be drumming it into their ears the need to start a family.Any lady regardless of her age who wants to have a purposeful romance have a good chance with this set of guys and any lady who is lucky to be with this set from their 20s may count herself lucky. Many guys in this set are focused and have come to realize that there is more to life than chasing skirts around and the reality of becoming a man will Inadvertently force them to be responsible and while many of them could still have few ladies lurking around them, they would have singled out that special lady that will be his wife.
36 to 40:This is the overdue stage for guys. At this stage many of their friends are fathers or happily married and every single lady they meet becomes a potential wife as they can't help thinking about settling down...It becomes a shame for this set to mention that "girl friend" word without getting ridiculed and attending family meeting will be a herculean task due to the stigma of being single at that age. If this set of guys woo a lady then she can consider it a marriage proposal. If you know you are not ready to be his wife please tell him quickly because this set of guys really need a wife.
41 to 49:This is the desperate stage. Most guys who are single at this stage better have a good reason to be else the world will see them as strange. For this set it is very easy for any serious lady to have them because most of the guys in this set are very vulnerable and do not have that strong push to woo ladies about but will be glad to have any serious minded lady to come into his life. Many guys in this set are either widowers, divorcees except few who have other reasons. If any single guy in this category woos you just answer by saying "I do" because the next thing is marriage.
50 and above: I honestly don't know what to write here but it is believed in Nigeria that if you are still single at this age and you are neither a divorcee,a priest or a widower then you are on your own.
I will stop here. Nice one, I hope next article will be ladies turn! |
