As far as Nigeria is concerned, secession is equal to war. You don't cut the North out from oil and access to sea and think they will go without a fight.

Cross River state at 20,156 km2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_River_State is approximately half the size of Igboland at 40,000 km2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igboland

You guys make a lot of noise for such a small set.

Essentially, Igboland could easily have been made up of just 2 states. Here you are making noise about having 6 states. When will you guys learn?
Part of cross river should be carved into SE for another state. I am done with you. Peace.

They should create a state from the Nigerdelta and give it to the Southeast? Like seriously? There should not be equal representation where a group is a minority. That is not part of justice.
Most states are not homogeneous in tribe.

You are not in southeast to start with. You are just giving yourself hope. Even Igbos in European countries support biafra, is it those in Asia,North America or South America? Stop deceiving yourself.those in North and Yoruba land cannot stop biafra, if a referendum is conducted Igbos in African countries can easily come back and vote, the percentage of those that doesn't support biafra is very little compared to the ones that support it. Get that into your head
I hope those in Europe, Asia will all come home to vote for referendum and live in the country. You don't vote for a nation then turn around to remain abroad, while the rest returnees from north and west surge in to create civilian crisis. The whole agitation is politically motivated. My problem with Nnamdi Kanu is his hate speeches against some section of the country. to start with, are you an IPOB member?

Look at the map of Nigeria, 5 states is too much for the Southeast already. Another state should be created from Cross River. Equity dictates that the Southeast gets fewer states because of its population and size. The map is there for any reasonable person to see.
It must not be created from southeast, it can come from parts of Delta or any where. Let the region be six state to ensure equal representation in federal appointments. The region has lesser federal reps, lesser ministers, lesser LG councils etc.

Nnamdi Kanu is just passionate but lack the required wisdom and intellect. Seeking for arms to do what? Do you have an army? to fight against who? And mentioning crude oil and gas every where shows his eyes is on the oil, nothing else. Worst of it all he has not done consultations with other ethnic nationalities. People should stop equating IPOB with Igbo.

You think people residents outside Igbo land will vote for Biafra? Those agitating are mostly Aba and Onitsha traders who have been brainwashed by Nnamdi Kanu madness, thinking that Hausa and Yoruba is our problem. You don't create a country without plans. Mind you this Nnamdi Kanu IPOB breakaway is all about ND oil. I listen to his videos he keep repeating that hausa fulani will never leave our oil, which oil is he talking about.

The degree of sophistication that an individual or group exhibits in a situation or on an issue can be objectively assessed when compared to similar situations. Many people from the Southeast in Nigeria, mostly of the Igbo ethnic group want us to believe that right from the time of the civil war that started in 1967 and ended in 1970 they have been victims. In truth, they have failed to show how they have been especially marginalized above any other tribe or region in Nigeria. However, let us for the sake of this article assume without conceding that they have been marginalized and oppressed right from around 1966 when a counter coup brought General Yakubu Gowon to power.

The question is how have they helped themselves? Have they looked at the resources that accrue to them from the federation account and their internally generated revenue (IGR) from their states and found a way to use it to invest in their people and region wisely?

Have they used cultural and commercial ties to build bridges with other tribes in Nigeria to attempt to creation of a synergy that protects their interests?

Have they made a strategic investment in their human capital and developed leadership potential of their people such that the rest of Nigeria would have no choice than to defer to what would then be their obvious acumen and capacity to lead the entire country to great things?

Have they shown enough love within their ranks to develop a united front that amplifies their voice within Nigeria?

The reaction of Tutsis to the shocking and appalling genocide in Rwanda in 1994 shows us how a people determined to develop and make progress will do so regardless of what horrors they are put through. An estimated 500,000-1,000,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed by extremist Hutus in 1994.

By July 1994, the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) led by Paul Kagame, a Tutsi had control of most of the country. It did not seek to take revenge on the Hutus and there was a speedy effort to provide some form of justice for the victims and reconciliation with those who had committed heinous crimes.

Despite having the military advantage, Kagame did not take power until 6 years after winning the civil war that ended the genocide, Pasteur Bizimungu a Hutu was President of Rwanda until 2000, when he resigned and Paul Kagame took official control of a country he had controlled unofficially since 1994.

He remains President of Rwanda and under his leadership, the country is achieving amazing growth, development and peace.

According to the World Economic Forum (WEF),

Rwanda notched up GDP growth of around 8% per year between 2001 and 2014. It’s economy is still growing, GDP grew by 6% in 2016 according to Africa Economic Outlook and it states: “Rwanda remains peaceful and stable and preparation for the August 2017 presidential elections have commenced, with the constitution amended to address presidential term limits.”

There are so many other positives from Rwanda like the inclusion of women in politics, the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) gives the the percentage of women in Rwanda’s parliament at 63.8% and the country is rapidly moving from an agrarian to knowledge economy. WEF explains: “In the long term, the government aims to transform Rwanda from a low-income agriculture-based economy to a knowledge-based, service-oriented economy with a middle-income status by 2020.”

I have taken the time to give these details to show how far Rwanda has come in contrast to Nigeria in general and the Southeast in particular where their is a victim mentality that is holding back development.

Enough of this whining already, until the Southeast begins to think fresh ideas and move away from its negative past, it may not develop. Until Nigeria as a whole does the same, it may never develop.

Please, for the fact that I value the lives of my brethren does not make me a secessionist. Even if I'm one, the Nigerian system justifies my stand. Go through my post again and re-read it carefully. Perhaps, you skipped the "systematic...." clause.

What is wrong if Igbos invest back home and grow our home front? Why should there lives always be on danger on any political misunderstanding? Are the Americans, British, Gabonese, etc asking our people doing legitimate business, in their enclaves to leave their shores? Why is that of Nigeria different?

The Western and Northern part of this country have always threatened to throw our people out of their region over nothing several times. You are called a guest and immigrants in a country you called your own. Why wouldn't the agitation for Biafra come up? I was indifferent to Biafra movement, but recent events in Nigeria, and past history, made me changed my mind. I'm a Biafran body, soul and spirit. Kill yourself niga, if you are pained. angry

The case of Nigeria is born out of hate. History is littered with examples of my kinsmen becoming casualties to this scam call one Nigeria. If Biafra should come, does it in any way infringe on the rights of Northerners or any Nigerian to own businesses and properties on Biafraland?

Why are you sentimental for goodness sake? My call for their return from the North is nothing short of saving their lives. The North overtime, have shown to be brutal on my people. We will not sit down and allow history repeat itself.
Igbos in the North should come back home. Go hug a transformer if you are not fine with it. Capish. angry
Investing home is good, coming home should be systematic. It should planned in phases. Sudden surge home will create refugee camps. The results will be disastrous. We are mostly threatened because of hate campaigns. IPOB approach is what I am angry with. However there is no need hugging transformer as most of them have no light.

You see! You don't have appropriate rebuttal, dancing unclad shouting Biafra up and down with zero exit plans is what I detest. As you tell families in North to relocate, do the same for those in the west and most importantly those Abroad. I noticed those abroad are more vocal about IPOB. They enjoy their comfort abroad yet want to put us in disarray. Hate campaigns are never the right way to go. Get your acts right first. However from the look of things,IPOB is yet to issue statement because they lack strategy.

Igbos should work on systematic redeployment. Move your families, then relocate your mobile assets. Move your currencies to reputable banks that will not play smart on your hard earnings. The East remains home. If you must invest outside your land, it must be in a peaceful environment, which Northern Nigeria over time, has proven to be the opposite. Igbos come back home, and lets collectively build our region. A word is enough for the wise.
Including those residing Abroad. All of una must come back.

Ndigbo residents in the North have begun relocating their wives and children to the South-East over the quit order by some Nothern groups, despite the condemnation by the Federal Government, Northern governors, Afenefere and Arewa Consultative Forum.

Some of the residents in the Sabon Gari area, a community occupied by non-indigenes are already panicking over the threat, some of them have systematically started sending their wives and kids home to avoid being trapped in the web of uncertainty.

However, Eze Ndigbo Kano, Igwe Boniface Ibekwe, on Thursday has asked the Igbo community in Kano to ignore the threat and regard it as empty, because it lacked the backing of the Northern leadership.
Ibekwe is also the Eze Diorama (iv), and the president-General of all Ezes in the Diaspora.

He said, “I believe and based on my understanding, as a major stakeholder in the North, the Northern leaders are never in support of the threat, so they should ignore it and go about their day-day business and activities.”

Also, he promised that Ndigbo in Kano will summon a meeting of stakeholders to establish their grievances, noting that he has since established contact, with the Northern leaders, just as he also disclosed that he is among the patrons of Arewa youths.

“I believe if they want to issue such a threat, it must be with numerous consultations, stressing that he believes in one Nigeria, just as he also believes in the ability of Nigerians solving their problems. Whatever their grievances are, the appropriate authorities would look into it, so they should not take laws into their hands.”

The hoards of Igbo living in diaspora should also come back. You don't dwell in your comfort zone abroad while using internet to render people in your country homeless

South east Igbos must not champion it!!!!! Let Igbos from the areas you mentioned champion their inclusion in whatever you are pursuing. Constantly pushing for means you have a hidden agenda.
