Go and check 2019 election result in Rivers State, only ikwerre vote is 40% of total vote. When you add Ekpeye and Ogba people our blood brothers, you will see that we have at least 62% of rivers votes.
That is why we have been governor since Amaechi and our support made Odilli gov in 1999 because of our cultural affinity even though odilli is not ikwerre.

After Wike, we ikwerre people can support anybody to be governor, but in Rivers State we don't play ethnic politics. You become governor base on your credibility, and acceptance across the state.

Your comments shows lack of proper information. Why is the capital of Rivers state called “Port” Harcourt? The port there is because of the sea port in Port harcourt and where is it located? “Ikwerre” land.

If you don’t know Ikwerre produce hundreds of thousands of crude oil per day. We and the ijaws are not enemies, we live together peacefully as Niger deltans. Ikwerre population is 45% of rivers state not to talk about our brothers Ekpeye and Ogba people which makes us 62% of rivers population. Only Ikwerre,Ogba, and Ekpeye vote is more than Imo state vote.

There is no country that comes without people agitating for it. It has never happened that a country comes out of nowhere without some people agitating for it. Nobody is agitating for Niger Delta Republic. In 1966, a young Ijaw man called Adaka Boro armed some men and came out to declare a Niger Delta Republic for his Ijaw people. Him and his men were easily captured in less than two weeks because he had no support. To this day, nobody even knows the Ijaw Ijaw territory he was declaring Niger Delta Republic.

Whatever the so called Niger Delta people feared about Ojukwu and Biafra, they got 10 times worse in Nigeria. Their oil wealth has been shared by more number of people in Nigeria than Biafra, they remain poor, marginalised and get a paltry 13% derivation.

I actually hope that the many tribes of the Niger Delta can come together and agitate for Niger Delta Republic. But everybody knows that it is impossible because nothing actually brings them together. An Ibibio man doesn't know anything about a Bini man same as an Ijaw man knows nothing Ogojaman.

Lets hope they all come together some day and unite beyond having Oil and access to the sea because if they dont, both their access to the Sea and Oil will only be for the benefit of Northern Nigeria
