Randy91: Pls what's the difference between "HTML and semantic HTML"
Thanks Back in the days, HTML was just meant to define the appearance of a webpage on a browser, and nothing more. But with Semantic HTML, webpages can now expressively show the meaning of each content on the pages. This enables web engines or screen reader and other devices determine the significance of each content on the webpage. Tags such as header, section, article, etc are semantic HTML tags. So when you have a screen reader reading through the pages, it can determine what part of the webpage it currently reads and the importance or significance of that part of the webpage. |

NewDelhi: I understand your problem. I vividly remember one of you even comparing A Benz s450 2018 to a Hyundai Genesis g80 2018. Very pathetic. The Genesis beats it in every department. I understand that your problem as well. I uploaded few Benz and you're quoting me with some comparison someone else made. You probably should make your comparison on what Hyundai or lexus comes near any of the Benz I uploaded above. |

ElvisPresley: Javascript and Python
Javascript is the only programming language that gives python a run for it's money.. Most programmers don't see javascript as a very good language but why I find javascript so impressive is cos it is the language of web browsers so demand for it will remain high for the foreseeable future! The disadvantage is it can only be used in Web development.
Python on the other hand is the fastest growing programming language in the world....It is very flexible .The only disadvantage I see in Python is you can't use it for front-end web development or front-end app development.. Wrong. JavaScript can be used in Web development (fronted and backend), Mobile app development with React Native, Desktop app development with Electronjs, Game development with Phaser, Data science with TensorFlow.js, Robotics and hardwares with Johnny-Five.. |

mcdokwe: Someone should please explain this to me, I see a lot of 'stunt doubles' in the cast lists and I wonder, does it mean so.e of the stunts are real and have to be performed by actors other that the main act? Exactly. Some of the stunts in Hollywood movies are real, but are mostly performed by trained stuntmen, and not the actor. |

ehinmowo: How were you able to host it in such a way that I could get to it from here? From Nairaland. It's easy. Go to netlify.com and open an account. On your dashboard, click on deploy. Drag and drop the folder containing your work into the deployment area, and that's all. You'll be given a URL which you can edit. You can as well buy a custom domain for your site. |

QuantumR: Nice animations, i like d preloader aspect also. BUT some things need to adjusted, the images are not fully responsive e.g, the hero section images stretches (samsung tab). Thanks for bringing this to my notice. I'll work on making it responsive on the Samsung Tab. Btw, what's the width of the tab? |
Programming › Re: Rate My One Page Site by iLearner(op): 11:14pm On Aug 02, 2020 |
ehinmowo: How did you create that loading effect? Did you do the back end too? Nope, there's no backend at all. The idea is to have the proloader remain displayed until everything on the page gets loaded.

Programming › Re: Please How Do I Master Javascript by iLearner: 8:39am On Aug 02, 2020 |
QuantumR: You cannot master js "finish", jst learn the basics, strings methods, object & array methods (map, filter, find, reduce, etc),functions, DOM manipulation then star buildin simple projects... This is a useful comment here. After learning all these here, you can take project tutorials to see how they are being applied. You'll learn better that way. For me, I prefer video tutorials. That way I can watch and code along, and also learn from the explanations. |

cixak95211: Trashy, you can do better evrything is just off . . color choice, color depth, UI . . form doesnt validate inputs, too much white space, too large images, not compressed no padding, margins, etc
p.s. take this as constructive criticism to make you better and not a jab I didn't intend to make the form validate for now. Like I said, it's just an introductory page with simple HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and won't be serving any official purpose yet. Highlight the parts that have no margin and padding so I can correct. About the images, the friend I did it for said she wants a full screen slideshow, so I just left the pictures the way they are. Thanks. |

But you could improve your work with some frontend framework and gain more inspiration from other website with more sleek UI than yours. They are littered all over the net Thanks thanks I'm not really skilled like that. I'm only just trying to master HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript for now. In the next few weeks, I'll be looking forward to diving into ReactJS. |

Knowledge of algorithms trumps knowledge of languages/APIs. My cousin works in Facebook but has never heard of React until i mentioned it to him. How can someone work at Facebook and not know React that was developed by Facebook and used to build the same Facebook mobile app Is your cousin a cleaner or errand boy at Facebook Leeemaaaoooo |
