Rooney avoids relegation. Maybe Daniel Levy should hire him. ![]() |
raumdeuter:Within that 9 months, they were in 14th - hurtling towards relegation. ![]() |
raumdeuter:Of course, all na 3 points got them in 14th position. For those who want to know how bad Spurs were under Poch, this is the evidence. ![]() Poch wasn’t just awful, he was in a relegation form for 9 months before he was sacked.
|
raumdeuter:LMAO! Spurs hadn’t won an away league game in almost a year under Poch. How the fück were they going to finish top 4 that season Poch was sacked? How? |
raumdeuter:Mourinho’s Spurs beat Leeds 3-0. |
raumdeuter:It was the same Mourinho’s immediate predecessor that left them at 14th position. ![]() |
Same team, different managers.
|
Kane hasn’t scored or assisted a PL goal since Jose left. Salah might yet win the golden boot. I am so happy Spurs are in so much pain. I am even happier these 3 points Leeds are getting means Arsenal will sink back to 10th position. Life is good. |
I can’t believe Mourinho is losing to a newly promoted Leeds. Gareth Bale v Leeds: 0 shots on-target 0 chances created 0 successful crosses. Jose is holding Bale back. If he didn’t ask him to defend 80% of the time, Bale would have scored another hat trick in this game. …….Oh wait!!!!!! |
BARAJ92:Palace in 17/18 - their festive fixture was ridiculous and they played 5 days before this run of fixtures. United haven’t played a PL game in the last 2 weeks so what’s the noise about?
|
GloryIsaac:The TV scheduling are set in stone. They cannot schedule more than 10 games on a Friday. If this happened at the start of the season, they would have moved things around a bit but the competition is almost over and all the games this month have already been distributed to the TV companies. There’s nothing the FA can do - there’s zero room to move things around for Man Utd. 3 games in 7 days is nothing though. I have seen worse scheduling of festive fixtures some years back. Ole should be able to navigate United to safety especially when Leicester keep dropping points. |
GloryIsaac:Only one game can be shown on Friday and that game had been chosen by TV folks before United fans went to disrupt the Liverpool game. |
GloryIsaac:The schedule was already tight and the fans decided to disrupt the game against Liverpool. Where else do you expect the FA to put the Liverpool fixture? |
CapitalCee:He should be the captain. |
DeadPresidents:At the same time, the objective/project must have a realistic goal. Tottenham haven’t won the league in 60 years or win any trophy in 14 years. Why would anyone expect Mourinho to perform a biblical miracle and win them those two trophies especially without any sort of investment? DeadPresidents:What is demanded from him is very different from other managers. One standard for Jose, another standard for the others. Klopp went from winning the PL to finishing probably 7th. If it is Mourinho, he would have gotten the sack as soon as it was mathematically impossible to get Top 4. See how no one in the media is saying football has left Klopp behind or he should take some time off or he should go and manage a national team for a while. See how no one in the media is sowing any seeds of discord that Klopp has lost his dressing room and the players don’t want to play for him. Yep, that’s the difference! DeadPresidents:I can’t blame him for his recent failures either. United refused to back him after he finished the closest to arguably the best PL team ever. Other owners would have used that as an opportunity to give him the players he wanted to bridge the 19 point gap. Ed Woodward gave him Dalot, Grant and Fred instead. The Tottenham project was a joke from the start. Levy rarely spends money. Getting a new stadium and the financial challenges COVID-19 gave Levy the excuses he wanted to avoid getting quality players in Spurs and yet he wanted a trophy because Mourinho is related to the prophet that parted the Red Sea with a staff. |
raumdeuter:Mata was surplus to requirements. He wasn’t needed to deliver the primary objective and Mourinho proved that by winning 2014/15 PL title. Why did Mata choose to go to United? If Mata had joined Bayern, Barca, Madrid or PSG in 2014, you won’t be typing what became of his career after leaving Chelsea. Part of being a footballer is making the right choice of where you want to play. raumdeuter:No one said Ranieri is a defensive coach so I don’t know why you are bringing this up. I am correcting the narrative that says Mourinho is a defensive coach by bringing out different examples of attacking players that have thrived under him. Mourinho has done this in different clubs. Deco, Lampard, Robben, Sneijder, Ozil, Hazard, Fabregas, etc. The comparison with Ranieri has no leg to stand on. |
raumdeuter:Mata agreed to sign for a useless team managed by Moyes - what could possibly come good from Man Utd’s Moyes? Mata is solely responsible for the choice he made. You can’t blame the aftermath on Mourinho. The most important detail here is Mourinho won the PL without Mata or KDB - so they were surplus to requirements.Under Mourinho, Hazard won his only PFA player of the year award in England. How did a defensive coach manage that feat? Under Mourinho, Harry Kane metamorphosed into a goal/assist monster. England could now play Kane in the hole in Euro 2020 to give way for a striker with pace that can stretch the opposition defence. Under Mourinho, Sneijder became a beast. He deserved a Ballon d’Or that year but the powers that be gave it to Messi. Under a microscopic lens, it can be deduced that your theory about Mourinho is highly flawed |
DeadPresidents:Mourinho is progressive minded, It’s just that there’s a different standard for him. If Watford signs Mourinho tomorrow, their goal will suddenly become winning the PL in the first season. With other managers, people are willing to wait few years down the line to achieve that goal but with Mourinho, it must happen within 9 months or he gets the sack. Liverpool wouldn’t have given Mourinho the number of years they gave Klopp before he was able to win CL & PL. If Mourinho isn’t progressive minded, how did Hazard win the PFA player of the year under him? How did Sneijder become the the best midfielder in the universe in 2010, even carrying his super form to the World Cup to push Netherlands to the final? How did Ozil produce 81 assists in the 3 seasons under Mourinho in Madrid? |
raumdeuter:KDB couldn’t get ahead of Mata, Hazard and Oscar back then. Pogba couldn’t get ahead of Scholes, Carrick, Anderson, Hargreaves. Sancho couldn’t get ahead of Navas, Sane and Sterling. Iheanacho couldn’t get ahead of Aguero. These players left because they were ambitious and believed in themselves but you people always find a way to blame Mourinho for KDB’s exit at Chelsea. Mourinho’s objective at Chelsea was to win trophies - not to develop any youth and he achieved that objective by winning the PL without KDB. The idea that it was Pep that developed KDB is also flawed. City paid a club record fee for him. Pep hadn’t met De Bruyne when he scored 16 goals + 28 assists from the Midfield at Wolfsburg. De Bruyne went on to win Bundesliga player of the year, Germany’s footballer of the year. De Bruyne also won Man City’s player of the year a season before Pep arrived. If Sancho goes back to City in the summer, and he repeats his last season’s feat in the PL, you would find a dubious way to give Pep the underserved credits. De Bruyne was already an established super class player before he met Pep at City. |
Lana1:Imagine what we have missed as a centre forward with Rashford/Martial pretending to know what that role entails. Cavani’s goals are not by accident. His movement in and around the box has to be the best in Europe. He anticipates the pass and he executes the finish with class. And there were United fans that said he was too old when he was being signed. One idiöt actually said Josh King is a better option at United than Cavani. |
Botfuss:It’s hard to complain when he qualified for the final. Ole would say he has a fatter fish to fry in the league games as this game is dead rubber. If Ole needed to score or win, he wouldn’t have made all those changes. Ole is incompetent but it’s hard to blame him for getting into a final in this manner. United have 4 games in a week. He has to start rotating heavily henceforth. Reserve your angst for him when he bottles the final. For now, go and buy Guinness stout and Suya to celebrate the first United player and manager to play in a European final. ![]() |
weedtaker:Ole doesn’t rotate. There have been many games this season where the opponents are low level, Ole still rolled out his strongest team in those games. The bench can mess up a player’s confidence. If Ole doesn’t trust his bench enough, why does he go in front of the camera to lie that he has been heavily backed by the Glazers? |
patrickmuf:We will never see the best of VDB until we sign an elite DM. When one of McFred doesn’t play, you have a midfield where either tackling or interception is missing. Soon as Pogba or Bruno loses the ball(and they do that a lot), the midfield becomes exposed and it’s a free run to the back four. Without De Gea, Roma could have scored 7 goals tonight. |
De Gea made 10 saves in this game. GOAT level shit. The best in the world. |
olabode89:Ole’s instruction. We have seen Bissaka also doing that several times. I remember the game against Brighton. Ole asks them to tuck in probably to hold Maguire’s hands in the box. Ole knows his expensive CB is clueless. |
Ole’s semifinal curse lifted. Ole’s trophy curse - yet to be lifted. We shall see in the final against Emery. |
The drop in quality when some United players in the first team don’t play is too huge. |
I am switching to Arsenal’s game. United can’t lose from here even if Ole is bewitched |
Oasis007:He’s a team player. I don’t think he hides, he’s far too intelligent than most of the farmers in our team. If VDB sees a team mate in a better position, he would pass the ball instead of going for glory. I like him but he’s not a good fit for United. |
elampiro:I am happy they did 90% of the job last week so they have a right to be complacent. This is why McFred partnership in the midfield is so essential. Any other combination leaks goals like Sheffield United. |
Cavani goal. Cavani for ballon d’Or |
Greenwood missing an open net. This match is pure comedy. United didn’t play over the weekend. They had a week’s rest and this is the best they could display? |
