The problem is that you may not even reply for days now.you and huxley have a hobby of pasting or posting things and abandoning them.maybe your source of inspiration is the same anyway.firstly,I'll like you to know that God is not a magician.He's God.he doesn't work miracles at your whim to show off.He HARDLY manifests in situations of unbelief.He's not obliged to.He's God.It's your cup of hell if you don't believe Him.He usually responds to the HUMBLE and believing,not the skeptical.If you want to hear testimony and miracle,I think there's a thread on that right on nairaland.go and read.perhaps it may even lift your faithless heart with some faith.on 2nd thoughts,let me just tell you about this one miracle.I know of a girl,I still saw her yesterday.Some years ago,she had a problem with her leg.One leg started becoming shorter than the other visible for all to see.She went to hospitalS,at Igbobi(its a popular place for bone issues in lagos),they built her a shoe to make the legs look equal and gave her crutches.the leg continued growing shorter and she was told that she had to cut it.well,she took the case to God in prayer with her church members.within weeks,the leg grew back.she's walking normally today,she can run.I still saw her yesterday.that event was not natural,she used No drug,she got what is called a miracle.I'll be sharing another miracle on the thread 'Today's Rhema' tomorrow incase you're interested.miracles do happen.miracles of healing,provision,protection and so on.Of course there are people who spread fake miracles but it doesn't change the fact of existence of genuine miracles.

Hey,I'm back i hope.before Euodias,you said something about been silent in the church.I didn't expect that from YOU but anyway,you need to consider the context in which the word silent was used.silent was used to mean don't teach.that's clear from the context of the surrounding verses.but if we're not too sure,then we can look up other passages of scripture that correlate with the passage.that's what helps in understanding the scriptures.each seemingly repeated command or story are better understood and enlightening.that's the purpose of the 4gospels.In our case,1timothy2 throws clearer light on 1corinth14 and vice versa.look at 1corinth14v28.it says 'but if there be no interpreter,let him KEEP SILENCE in the church and let him SPEAK to himself and to God'.keeping silence here is definitely not talking about been deaf and dumb,no.He keeps silence and yet speaks.that is possible.it means he doesn't give his message for the whole church.It's the same silence that is written of in v34.its not a silence of prayer,or singing or sharing testimony or giving report,or answering questions.its a silence of not teaching.There's a lot to do in the work/labour of love apart from teaching men.even not all men are teachers.a gifted female teacher can teach women her mates,younger women,young people both boys and girls,little children.thats more than 50% of most church populations already.a woman can pray and intercede for others including her superiors,she can usher,she can sing,she can give money,she can evangelise,thats a lot already.the little restriction of don't teach men doesn't make her useless.now Euodias and others you mentioned were colabourers and workers with Paul and even with God.that doesn't mean that they taught men in church.they were involved in God's work together.All faithful christians are.Whether you're G.O or church cleaner or Most reverend or cell leader.we're all coworkers together working to bring people to Christ.Its not a matter of downgrading titles of whether helper or worker.we're all in the work.

Paul had to address not just wives interrupting their husbands' prophetic ministries,but the manner in which certain women were deported

where is this in the bible?all this excuses and interpolations are not in the bible,lets do away with assumptions and face what we have written for our learning.its repeated in Timothy,what's the excuse in that one.if we say we don't understand the reason for the command that's different,but to say the command does not exist,or to contradict it using other scriptures.not well.Let me read Titus to you in another version.titus2v3,4. Likewise teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live,not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine,but to teach what is good.then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children.
Its not talking about unconverted.its talking about older or more matured women to younger women.I'll talk about Euodias later,have to do something.

the law that is referenced here is the old testament.The pattern laid out in the old testament from Genesis to Malachi says so.the writers,the priests,the elders,the kings,all that have been used in leading and directing.And its not just a command from Paul.v37 says the things written are the commandments of the Lord.you seem torn between 2ideas.one that the women in corinth were told not to TEACH the men because . . . .and two that all women can teach men but should not have dominion over them.again,I ask which one?
Also,you may correct me though but I don't think Corinth is in asia minor.Letter even in the bible were written to churches in Asia minor.even if corinth is in asia minor,it doesn't mean letters were not written to other churches.the books compiled in the bible are not the only accounts or epistles written by the disciples of Christ at that time.God in his omniscience simply compiled all we needed as believers for all ages,breathed on it and handed it down to us.the bible is complete.other books can only supplement.the bible is for us.1corinthians14 is in the bible and it has a message for us all.We'ld be judged by all we've read.actually 1corinthians is addressed to every believer,every one that calls on Jesus in EVERY PLACE.

Have you ever seen or heard of a hero?You don't get that kind of appellation by eating noodles. Its a title of greatness.Gotten in situations of bravery and uncommon determination. Real christians are heroes.The Bible says Yes,all that will live godly in Christ will suffer persecution.That is not speculation or probability,that is fact and truth. If you say you're a christian living with this world and you're not facing some persecution,then sorry,you're not godly enough.Your light is not shining enough as commanded by Jesus (let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works). They should see it.They may not commend it or like it but they have to see it.And when you're reproached for it,you're blessed.
Reproach is not always about stoning,crucifixion,beheading,martyrdom or imprisonment as many imagine.It could be ridicule,rejection,abuse,hatred or ostracism.
Now,anybody can be reproached.A criminal can be reproached,a politician can be reproached,even sporting athletes but if ye be reproached for the name of Christ.Because you serve Jesus,because you're keeping his commandments. The Spirit of glory and of God that rested on Jesus at his baptism in the river Jordan,that same Spirit rests on you. You are a hero.

If you've read the Bible and if you're not a forgetful reader,you'll see that it says all humans are sinners/debtors by default because they all originate from Adam.i guess if you don't believe in something, then you don't bother yourself about it.but your troubles about the bible logically proves that you believe in it.I'm sure you wouldn't waste life and time talking about 'snow white and the seven dwarfs'.because you don't believe it happened and can easily dismiss it as unimportant to you.But your zeal for religion shows that you actually regard it.so what the bible says is that all humans are debtors by default.I've repeated that a couple of times now so that it may probly sink.Don't ask again saying 'who is owing debt and what not.Now as said earlier,Jesus came to pay for that debt.now some accept his payment but some don't.Its not by force to help.He came to help and you have freewill to accept that help or reject and even deny that help.He has offered it already.he has paid it.but the part of the debtor is to accept it.that's the bible story for you. you may choose not to believe it happened but hope it makes better sense to you.It's like a man put in prison for 10years because he owes mr.A an amount he can never afford to pay.but then,MR b hears about it and makes an agreement with A to settle the debt.and they come to tell the debtor in prison to accept the offer and come out.a wise debtor will come out gratefully and be more responsible.its a proud debtor or a foolish debtor that will say no.i love prison or I can't allow someone else to pay my debt.
Also,to help you about adam,mankind was not an experiment.well the bible doesn't say that.the human race was a good and perfect design. adam was created good but he disobeyed God and ate the fruit that could make him good and evil.unfortunately,he became evil,sorry his race became affected.I'll stop here for now

sorry to say,you're a confused man and it'll be difficult to explain this things to you.It's like trying to explain reality to a person in coma.or teaching a madman.these things are possible but they're difficult.its like trying to make a sick baby to understand why he needs to undergo a medical operation.you don't understand God/the Bible and can't really understand him except you're 'in the family'.Everything will just seem mysterious to you and in your understandably human frustration,you likely get angry and term us as unreasonable.you're not the first neither are you the last God hater.Just take it easy on your health

hello.looking all through scripture,one can observe the pattern both in the law as 1Corinthians14 says and also in the new testament.1Corinthians14 and 1Timothy 2 already gives such instruction to women not to teach men but lets also see Titus.It talks about women teaching women only.
Titus 2v1. But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.v3. The aged WOMEN likewise,that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness,not false accusers,not given to much wine,TEACHERS of good things.v4. That they may TEACH the young women to be sober,to love their husbands,to love their children.v5.v15. THESE things speak and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

if I recall correctly,you said you were once churchgoers.If only you had paid more attention during sermon or attended a better church,you would have being told that all the world i.e every human is already in debt by default.Big debt of condemnation.that one is now making profit by doing good/morally sound things doesn't change the fact of the debt on ground.what the bible says is that all your good works and positives/profits cannot pay for your debts.Only Jesus Christ can and he has paid the price already.what is left is for you to accept his payment.that is freewill.One could remain so proud and choose to remain in debt by refusing to accept Jesus' offer.one could be even adamant and claim he owes no debt and will not accept any help.well,the sorry truth is that such individual will have to pay for his debt by himself and that is by everlasting death.but Jesus has died/paid the price for us.Believing this is what we call belief/faith.that's why we call ourselves believers.Jesus said in the bible that anybody that doesn't believe is condemned already.condemned to judgement,condemned to die eternally.There's hope for any body who chooses to believe today.that is the christian message

You placed references that the Corinthian church women had freedom to teach prophesy and pray publicly.yes,why not.Women can teach,prophesy and pray publicly but not to men.the bible women were instructed to teach other women and children,you know these passages already.You know what I noticed,most churches have the greater population made up of women and young people,the greater percentage!why is it that humans are never content.the talent is usually too little in our eyes,the Lord,the giver of the talents usually appears too austere and hard.There's little appreciation for all the trees in the garden,we must have the restricted tree.why?why cant we see what we can make of the little% that we have the privilege to teach.why do we feel useless,limited and like robots because a woman shall not teach a man?are all teachers?if all were the hearing,where was the seeing? In the service of God's kingdom according to Paul in Galatians3:28 it doesn't matter if you are male or female

now there goes a verse that you've PROBABLY read out of context or in isolation.Galatians3 is not exactly talking about 'service in God's kingdom'.please re-read the chapter.I just re-read it to be certain.The surrounding verses and context are discussing justification,righteousness,salvation and such like,not christian service.I believe you know the difference.faith is one thing,service(in our discussion,teaching) is another.Galatians is telling us that salvation is for all/Jesus is for all.You don't need to be under the law to be qualified,you don't need past good works/deeds.you don't need circumcision.you don't need to be a Jew.the faith is universal.no pre-qualification.we're all heirs,we're all 'Abraham's seed'.no jew or gentile,no bond or free,no male or female.We can all come and drink of the water of life.that is salvation.It's really inconvenient for me to say but In service,there is male&female,in marriage,GOD regards a distinction between male and female,in procreation,in child training,there is male and female (e.g it is not expected that the male breastfeed the child since the couple is both in Christ Jesus).in bible family,there's male and female,the husband is the head of the wife.Even in prayer,1Corinthians 11,there is male and there is female.It would be too quick to generalize just one verse28 and use it for every situation.so there's really no contradiction.It's just our growing in knowledge and understanding of God's word and ways brother.

How can a dog fly? How can a bird bark?How can a fish survive on trees,how can a monkey survive in the ocean?How can a lion book its food,how can a man have the kind/size of teeth of lions.They are different.In different 'realms'.Even a man does not know what another man is thinking.How then can he know what God is thinking. The things of God knoweth NO MAN/ONE except the Spirit of God.No matter how intellectually gifted,no matter how many committees and research teams are raised,NO MAN can understand/have knowledge of the things of God except the Spirit of God.This is why it is important to read the Word of God with His HOLY Spirit dwelling in you and teaching you.If only our learning friends would open their hearts to Jesus,he'ld come in with the Spirit of God and make God's words and ways come alive to you.It's more than all the struggles of greek/aramaic/hebrew dictionaries,It's more than preferred bible versions.It's more than concordance,my pastor's exposition,commentaries and indepth diligent study by masters of languages.Yes all these help,they're but just aids.The essence is the Spirit.Except a man be born of the Spirit,he CANNOT see the kingdom of God,not to talk of entering. Get spiritual.

you said something about 1Corinthians12 which I'm not clear on.sorry if my questions are many o.that's the way i learn sometimes. You said 1corinth12 says some members of the Corinth church were led astray by idols especially those wives who were still not converted and prophesied garbled and blasphemous utterings.I didn't see that one in my own bible o.can you expound on that.
Also you said that in chapter 14,it is strongly believed that Paul was addressing those wives who were either untaught or unconverted and who became controversial.who and where are there people who are strongly believing?the writer of the passage is alluding to the confirmation of his injunction by the Old testament 'as ALSO says the law'.why then should some strongly believe what the passage doesn't say.
God giving the gift of prophesy is not necessarily for teaching.a prophesy is a word from God,its not compulsory that it will be taught and its not compulsory to be addressed to the whole congregation.it could be a word for one person or a group.God has set the members every1 of them in the body as it has pleased Him.our goal is to please and glorify Him.

Understanding or obeying a clear command is not the same as isolating a few sentences and making a sweeping generalization brother.i believe the word of God is written to me as well.I apply it to my life.and I don't push any part to only early christians or Jews.
You say the Corinthian church was a problem church,well that's a strong and big assertion to make.which church today doesn't have problems then.have the women become less assertive or domineering in our days than in those days?are we saying that only the corinth women were told not to teach men,or that they were never told not to teach men but that they should not dominate men?which one

thanks for your reply.Like I said earlier,this is a very inconvenient subject for me to discuss. Firstly,I have to say I have nothing against women and I appreciate the females God has used in my life. Have also listened to women teach,as I have men. Of course on the two sides/genders,we have in our little analyses very good teachers and not too good teachers.but in the service of God's kingdom,I think its more than been a good teacher or having a gift.I think it is more important to do things according to the pattern that has being shown to us,according to instruction not intuition.
I see 1timothy2v12 and 1corinthians14v34,35 as very clear commands and I believe the original recipients of the epistles understood it as such,commands no excuses.when a passage or verse doesn't seem clear enough,then other verses around the verse or in other parts of the scripture are used to explain or clarify the verse,not contradict the verse or downplay the verse.There are some verses in the bible that you don't need to be even born again or spirit filled to understand.the messages of such verses are clear for all to see.All may not believe the verse or have power/grace to obey such verses but they do understand the verse.every1 atheist or theist knows what we mean by don't steal,give,pray,Jesus is the son of God etc.whether you believe or respect that is different but every1 understands that.This words in Timothy are normally clear to every1.'let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.but I do not permit a woman to teach,nor to usurp authority over the man'. It only becomes difficult when we begin to bring greek and strong's,and reasoning and taking it not as the word of God but just the word of one mr.Paul.

Please explain or re explain 1Timothy2v12 and 1Corinthians14v34,35. You seem to be taking it away from the Word and directing attention to other scriptures that seem to support your cause. Please deal with the 2texts above directly.

Bobbyaf,the text says they are not to teach. How come you're saying that the text says they're not to dominate. Say your commentary/pastor says they're not to dominate.Don't say that the text says so.
Bobbyaf, Galatian3v28 does not say women will become prophets in the last days, and by the way being a prophet doesn't automatically make you a teacher of the Word.
Please,try to provide an example of a female prophet in the Bible that constantly taught God's will to God's people.

Like I said earlier on,not being a teacher of men in church doesn't make you useless or a robot.There's so much work to be done.stay in God's calling for your life.that is what God considers REASONABLE service.

Get a transformed tongue from God.A tongue that has the law of kindness operating. Such a tongue has authority with God. She commands kindness. She dictates good things to her circumstances. Remember,life is in the power of the tongue. Speak life to the coming year,speak life to your marriage, speak wisdom,kindness and life to your LIFE. Have a BLESSED new year.

Do you know David? Sorry I mean king David. One of Israel's greatest kings.The son of Jesse, the father of Solomon the wise king. Ascendant of Jesus Christ. A very popular man. The Psalmist,the sweet psalmist of Israel,he has so many titles. When you remember the Prophet David,what you remember or picture is positive, dancing, spirit filled, anointed, prosperous, mighty David. He slew Goliath,famous story. If you're looking for a mentor,a role model, David is not a bad choice. We're talking about a man after God's heart. The one who is said to have written the world famous Psalm23. But it may never enter your wildest and widest imaginations, that David at any point in time,was ever at/in the state of our Today's passage. David lifted up his voice (not mere silent sobs) and wept until there was NO MORE POWER TO WEEP. What! I have to agree here that the downfall of a man is not the end of his life. If such a man,who has wept till he had no more power to weep, can later rise to such prominence, then there is hope for you. I don't think you've ever being so down in life. If David rose,you can rise and you will rise. There is light ahead,there is joy tomorrow. What step are you on the ladder, what height/depth are you at,you can rise like king David. Encourage yourself in God, there is hope for a person like you, wonderfully made.

7. The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

In the new testament, we read something like 'although I GIVE my good things to feed the poor and GIVE my body to be burned and do not have love, I gain nothing.' Have you ever read that and wondered,so what is love?
Talking about the poor and the masses,and the suffering people is cheap,very cheap. Even a Judas Iscariot can talk about the poor.Giving! O anybody can give. If there's strong motive and hope of reward,there may be good,strong giving. Do you know how much money some men give to girls,their daughter's mate with the ulterior motive of sex? Do you know how much money people give out as bribe and even to poor communities so that they can get cheap popularity,the praise of men,some national merit award and some political position? Do you know how much giving will reduce in church if others around did not see it or if it'll not be announced? Love should accompany care for the poor. That is righteousness.According to our Today's passage,The righteous considers the cause of the poor.It is the wicked that does not care.It touches the righteous. He is GENUINELY concerned. It is his business.Not because he'll be coming out for elections soon.but because of love. How much pity do you have for others less privileged than you are? Do you regard to know it?

December 27 Job 27:8
8. For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

There's a nigerian proverb that says something like 'a child who has never been to another farm will think his father's farm is the biggest in the world'.How true! Do you know there are some people who'll feel very lucky if they could make one hundred (100) naira in a day? There are some who are hoping that they could just get a job that could pay 10000naira o,There're some graduates who would kill to be paid a hundred thousand (100000)naira monthly. Yet,there're some people in the land who count a 100million naira too small to renovate their house. Of course you must know that some individuals exist, who would become depressed or think of suicide if they made 'JUST' 12million DOLLARS net profit in a month. It goes on and on. So what would it profit a man if he gained the whole world?Do your estimates. How would you feel if you gained the whole world? And yet,in Christ's estimation,it appears to be a loss if you gained trillions and hexallions and lost your one own soul. What is the hope of a hypocrite, though he has gained, when God takes away his soul? Don't be hypocritical but sincere, what do you weigh in God's scale?
