The subsequent verses make it plain to believers that they are not to take a clingy view of anything because Jesus is coming soon.

This is the same thing as leaving all to follow Christ. We all know and proclaim that Christ is coming soon. Getting improved whether personally or collectively, either financially or otherwise is NOT clingy. You can see forsake ALL, leave ALL and still own houses, lands etc. Why on earth will Jesus be promising hundredfold of land or houses to anyone if according to your understanding, they don't need it?

You are missing the point. If Jesus comes today, does your Bible not tell you that He is to reign on earth for 1000years? How then is 100bn for Him and His Body a gigantic stretch especially if it is not pinching you and nobody is complaining?
Did they tell you that you cannot give up things for others and still build for 100bn? It's called budgetting.
BTW, the Bible does not say that early christians gave things up BECAUSE Jesus was coming soon, that is one gigantic stretch over there.

Verse 21 stresses the effect of giving to the needy, which is to have heavenly treasures.

Verse 23 - 24 clearly reveals the trust the young man was having in his riches instead of being a blessing to the needy was his fault.

Lastly, the decision to sell and give to a needy person or true charitable cause is a personal one that's conceived on a by one on one or personal basis. I doubt all the pastors involves in making the decision to give that money to the needy can easily agree on it and on which needy to give to. Church contribution is a sort of public money but personal money is what genuinely come from the heart of a giver and thus translate to heavenly treasures. Even when Jesus was replying Judas, He personalized the reply to Judas because all the twelve contributing before giving would have made less sense than each one making the decision on their own.

i am not exactly on the point of the verse(21) but on the fact that it is not a command to ALL men or disciples. The man did not actually have a problem of/with giving to the needy but with HOW FAR i.e selling whatsoever he had(all his great possessions) and giving them to the needy.
It is one thing to conveniently give out 2k, 5k or even 10k to the needy as a multi-millionaire or even thousandnaire. It is another level to sell all your property and give them to the needy. The latter was the case which he found impossible to do.

Jesus did not make it a criteria to His followers to sell all they had and give to the needy. Like you pointed out, He even told His disciple not to give to the needy but to Him.

Matthew _26:11  For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
Mar_14:7  For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
Joh_12:8  For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

God also said through Paul that giving to the poor is not that important if you do not have charity(divine love).

1Co 13:3  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

It's not dictation, it is a very important factor in political calculations. You cannot win elections without bulk northern votes. When KKK states come with their results, that's when you'll understand. The North votes religiously since 1999, the South is just starting to collect PVC in 2023. Even at that, data shows that only Bornu state has more new PVCs collected than the whole SEast PVC collection.
On election day, North will stand in the sun for 2 or 3 days for their candidates. South will mostly be at home and online monitoring the results. They mainly use their PVC for ID cards and vote buying, MAYBE things will change in future. But that's how it is currently. So a serious contender will factor that in. Its like business, if you have many customers from North and they pay you money on time and even in advance. Meanwhile, your customers in the South always owe you money and beg and don't buy much. Which of them will you take more seriously? Will you be mr. all inclusive and impartial?
The North did not dictate Atiku for PDP, Atiku declared his intention just like others did. To me, Atiku and Tinubu should have stepped down for some of their younger boys but they did not. In fact, i think Tinubu might have stepped down(for Osinbajo) if Atiku didnot win the PDP primaries.
You can only stop being slaves to the Northern factors if after winning, the winner educates and provides jobs for the millions of poor northerners weaponized by politicians and the Northern Heads. If people are educated and have jobs and money, it will be harder to manipulate them. If we have basic things that we all have to pray and fast for(light, good roads, security, healthcare etc), it will be hard to hoodwink people using religion.
Before anyone can do that, you must get power first, and before you get power, you must "dance to the music being played".

i don't like Tinubu, or Atiku or Obi. In fact, i will have more hope of radical change with Sowore(who i also don't like, lol). But hese other guys are same same. But i talk so much for two reasons. Okay i understand your Eastern region point. Tinubu has not started campaign so we cannot really say that he has neglected them. Buhari and Osinbajo went to ALL 36 states for campaign but according to them, they got less than 5% of their votes from there. We both know how Easterners treat anyone in APC, even up to governors and former governors. They take them as lepers and betrayers. They tell you strongly that they are PDP or at most APGA(igbo party). Would you waste your resources on what will give you less than 5%?
If you are referring to APC primaries, wo are the strong Eastern politicians in APC? Is it Orji Kalu that was opening campaigning for Lawan even more than Lawan? He did not even campaign for his own brother Rochas. Yet Tinubu was first to visit Rochas to bring him in after winning the elections. So i don't really get what you mean by not caring. Do the Easterners care for themselves? You keep seeing how ipob is threatening everybody(even pastors lol) and saying no elections, people must not come out etc. Which of the main candidates has started campaign in full throttle or "cared" about the Easterners so far? When campaign starts proper, it is likely the major parties will visit all states as usual to ask for votes.

A fair representation of Nigerians is in appointments, not running mate for election. You have to win election before appointment. Tinubu that was/started appointing Igbos into cabinet and giving one day governor to youths from everywhere when he was Governor of Lagos State? How many Igbo states have ever appointed a Yoruba or Hausa to be Commisioners? Yet, Tinubu is our problem. Tinubu worked with Bucknor and Pedro in Lagos without any issues. He has single handedly appointed two professing christian governors in Lagos after he left. He selected Pastor osinbajo as VP. What more do you want fa? If Tinubu as President appoints everyone or most ones as muslims or from just South West into his government, then you can have this your argument. But he has shown no such antecedents.
ND militants and Boko Haram were having a field day under GEJ, GEJ appointed professing christians. If i remember, it was some good work from Osinbajo and team that helped with ND militants at the start of their 1st term in government. It was not the work of Buhari's clueless appointees.

If you want to do something to get eternal life, you will have enough to do, na you go tire. It is clearly seen in the Law.

i used marriage to explain the word "leave/left". Peter said they had "left" all, which you assume to just mean abandon. In christain marraige a spouse "leaves/left" father and mother. Leaving there is NOT abandoning. Peter did not abandon his wife or in laws or house, he had them. But he put God in first place. Leaving your house for God as a single person means God takes priority above that house. You are ready to even forego the house, or sell the house if need be for the sake of Christ.
