We hope so. i don't really know the two main candidates but that musician fellow APC brought was all signs of de-marketing. When i saw his picture with the Awolowo, i knew it was all shades of wrong and insensitivity to the yoruba people. He could be killed for that in the North. Let's hope Adeleke the entertainer improves Osun state. |
cutecommend:Yes, it will usually save you stress of being victimized and usually makes you more accountable. |
Demolakay:i'll take this one home though "Jesus was nt interested in politics". On that we now agree at least. i really don't wish to campaign for Tinubu or any of the candidates so i would not be answering the bulk of your post. The matter i presented is simple, doing well in government has very little to do with the person's professed religion. We have seen it countless times, no be today. It should not be the main yardstick we use in accrediting or discrediting the candidates. LoLz, for you to say Obi tried his BEST, i just give up fa. |
Epher:Indicted by who? Stay away from strong wine please. |
kayperry:Nobody is actually doing like they need the East in that sense. PDP that should choose East did not. APC has never been strong in the East. Not to now mention the daily problem of ipob, UGM and continued threats that there will be no elections in the East by ipob. Any sane person will not spend time and resources in a very weak point. According to the President APC got just 5% or a dot from there so why should Tinubu rationally pick from the East as his strong point? Even Eastern and South South politicians that defect to APC are treated like lepers and betrayers by their fellow tribesmen. Give me two cogent reasons why Tinubu should spend the bulk of his time or resources on the place? BTW, campaign hasn't even begun in the sense. i am yet to see any of the other candidates do anything remarkable in the East so far, so i wonder why you single out Tinubu. Tinubu that Easterners are even vowing to make him lose his own state. Fear God abeg. Tinubu has not shown that he doesn't need Christians. He has simply overestimated Christians thinking they will not think like cows like the north. But it is surprising that the Christians now say that they must think like cows. Politics is a game of numbers. All the major parties have a northern muslim as mate because they know how northerners think and behave, why do you now suppose that Tinubu/APC should not have one? Do you think he's just there to participate like Sowore, Ezekwensili, Moghalu and co usually do? He's there hoping to win. You can't win elections in Nigeria without considering the language the north speaks. The North will vote for Shehu from Gombe before voting for Obama/Clinton/Putin or any person you consider a great leader. The South used to be vice versa and not so committed. |
kayperry:When you say "at first tinubu discard the eastern region ", you are advocating a South-South candidacy. How do you expect Tinubu to pick a running mate from the Eastern region, or what do you mean by discard? Nigeria does not start from 1999. You guys conveniently add military dictators to your sentiments but want to start from 1999 to establish same sentiments. What happened to Awolowo, Zik and Abiola? Are they not Nigerians? Muslins and Christian are not the only religions in Nigeria. There are traditionalists, atheists and co. You have hypocritically cut them off as not mattering. There is no law backing this arrangement you speak of, it is a PDP party thing, not constitutional. And PDP annulled that gentlemanly arrangement by fielding Atiku, a northern fulani Muslim. Boko haram and bandits operate freely in Nigeria because we have incompetent, sluggish and nepotistic people in power, not because of religion of people in power. They operated with GEJ, Osinbajo and OBJ in power. These were all incompetent professing Christians. We hope that the security situation gets solved in future but it will not be due to religion of the president but to the competence. |
Gospel2Day:Sentimental fellow. My problem with people like you is that you can never see a competent muslim to vote for, your eyes are blind to competence and only open to religion. You are not different from the people you term "bigot". |
goaldynman:How does a Christian candidate on the ballot represent Christian interests? How did Obasanjo on the ballot represent Christian interests? How did GEJ on the ballot represent Christian interests? How did Osinbajo on the ballot represent Christian interests? |
emapeteum:One, i don't have a candidate, lol. Two, i didn't mention anyone's level of competence but that we should be issue based in deciding, not sentiments based. Saying you reject someone because of religion or tribe is immature and a bad idea that has not worked so far. Reject, vote, protest based on competence not on religion. The competent muslims and Christians are free to come out and contest. As you don't like Tinubu or his constitutionally accepted choice, you are free to choose your choice instead of wailing about someone else's rights. |
emapeteum:There you go again, competence has nothing to do with religion but getting the job done. If an Amediohist would get the job done properly better then a professing Christian or Muslim, go for competence. Stop being sentimental. It's a democracy, not a turn by turnocracy. |
Demolakay:Joh 6:15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. Joh 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Stop lying for Jesus, i doubt that He appreciates it. Does Christianity supports christians getting involved in politics? anoda resounding yes! Moses was a judge,a servant of God,ND a politician, because he led d Israelites.David was a servant of God,a king,ND a politician.Throughout d whole of d old testament, every king has a prophet DAT gives Dem direction, advise Dem,ND share d mind of God to Dem on how to govern well.If God is not interested in politics,ND does not want christians involved, why is God interested in putting people Wu are Afta his heart in leadership positions?why do God normally remove Dem,ND install anoda whenever dey veered of from listening to him.Its a lie from d pit of hell,DAT says christians should nt get involved in politics! our church leaders has use dis lines to make d followers docile ND inactive in politics.Tank God dey are realizing Deir mistakes nw,ND making d needed correction. If christians are nt involved,Wu will protect our interest,Wu will fight for us wen tins go south? Wu are d Mordecai,Esther,Moses, Joshua,Ezra, etc DAT will fight our cause, wen d Oda religion is doing wat is inimical to us? u decide to sell urself because of d morsel in ur hand, wen d morsel finishes, wat will u do?i did not ask for all these story neither did my question go in this line, read again. i did not say that Christians should not be involved in politics, but that Christianity or religious profession has very little part to play in good governance. So been a so called christian governor or president does not mean that you are representing Jesus or christianity. In fact, it does not guarantee a good representation of christians or FOR christians. Cyrus or Nebuchadnezzar or Pharoah can be used by God if He so pleases, just as He is still ruling in the affairs of men today, christian or no christian. And I Neva agreed DAT Obi is an ipob project. He has many followers in d south west here, including me,ND am nt ipob.He has followers in d South East too,and all ova, expecially among d youths Wu c him as a breath of fresh air.Infact Tinubu qualified for DAT adjective more! by trying to whip up religious sentiments because he is desperate to achieve his long aim of becoming d president.Lets c how far he can go.Well, you never denied the ipob link but said Tinubu is ALSO carried by BokoHaram and islamists. BTW, i did not say Obi is an IPOB project, Stop putting words into my mouth if you cannot quote me properly. i said that the Obi party/campaign is riding on ipobic wings. It has been hijacked by ipobic elements who want to use it for their own insane agenda and Obi is docile about it. There is nothing fresh about Obi, he has been there for over 15years wining and dining and ruling with the same set of corrupt people which he is part of. There is nothing outstanding or fresh about him both past, present and future. He is a criminal like all the others, just that he is turning out to be the smooth criminal because he can deceive you and ipob too can use you. |
kayperry:Lol, look at you advocating for a South South pairing for President and VP and then hypocritically denouncing a Muslim Muslim pairing. Na wa for you people oh. |
efepeppereski:You forgot to ask what Obi transformed Anambra into. i didn't say that any candidate was competent but that we should debate and vote based on candidates competence, not religion or tribe. |
kayperry:Vote for your candidate based on his competence, not on his religious profession. That's the point. How has the pastor in Aso Rock favored you or the Church of Christ? How did Bishop OBJ and Reverend GEJ favor Christianity? When are you going to learn that good governance has very little to do with tribe or religion? |
Demolakay:Is politics your birthright? Did Jesus want to be a politician? Is He interested in His Body being a politician today, has He changed? The point is very clear, make your decisions based on the competence of the candidates, not their religions. Good that you agree on the ipob thing, so many are naively deceived. |
BeigJawnson:That's the point, being good at governing isn't necessarily about your religion. Bad behavior too is from any religion. So religion is a very weak yardstick for elections decisions. |
kelvinginzie:Lol. Judge not. |
Interesting, those ones are representatives of their pockets and ipod, not Christians. i am a Christian and i will take competence over religion at any time 't'. Many of them will apply to Dangote refinery whose head is a muslim, they will fly Emirates owned and piloted by muslims. But they want to be sentimental in choosing leaders. How many so called pastor and reverend. bishop bosses are as wicked as Lucifer to their staffs? So many so called Christian/Pastor governors and proprietors owing salaries, and oppressing their subordinates. Point is good head and government has very little to do with religion. i will rather have the sheikh of Dubai rule me than some smooth criminal carried on ipobic wings. |
chymeze:What are the consequences apart from you not voting for him? It's a democracy, simply vote for your preferred candidate instead of having headaches and hallucinations over another candidate. Governance needs to come above ridiculous criteria like religion. If you are looking for work now or booking flights tickets, you don't look for Christian oga or pilot. It's jumbo pay, good work conditions and safety you are after. |
Lol, the are all politicians, hopeless. The good thing is that we all know Atiku very well, and also Tinubu. The bad thing is that some people on SM have been been hit by- A smooth criminal. |
LordReed:i'm saying Jesus Christ knew that particular man could not do it(sell all). No one can obtain eternal life by DOINGs/works. For another person, Jesus Christ may say something else, like no anger, or no immorality, or no pilfering etc. Everyone has different weaknesses or besetting sins. Jesus Christ wasn't asking everyone for all time to sell all, He was addressing that particular man. In marriage, a Christian leaves father and mother to cleave to the spouse. Leaving them doesn't mean abandoning or disowning or selling them. It means your marriage takes a higher spot than them. That's how you leave all, you prefer and hold on to God/Jesus above all. |
LordReed:Totally different and very direct/specific to the man. Mark 10 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. This particular man wanted to do something(works) to get eternal life, Jesus Christ simply showed him how impossible it is. He doesn't say every man or whosoever shall sell all. See the difference in the disciples, they didn't sell all and give to the poor. The all was clearly stated. house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands. They LEFT, that is, it wasn't their priority. i believe that you know that the same Peter had a house, wife, and in law. Peter didn't SELL his brethren or children to give to the poor, he LEFT them. Very different. Learn and understand. |
LordReed:Be like how? The Bible is clear about God's Word to all men, God's Word to His children, and God's Word to individuals. There are things to learn from every situation but it is very important to RIGHTLY divide the Word of God as against twisting and misunderstanding scriptures. 1. Joh 3:3 KJV Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. This is a clear condition for all men including me. 2. Mat 5:6 KJV Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Another very direct and clear scriptures for me. 3. Mar 9:23 KJV Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Another very clear place that God is speaking to me. Do you need more? It is very clear also when God is speaking specifically to an individual and saying "Go to Joppa" or "Go to a city and loose a donkey". Again, i ask you where did Jesus say what you said to me. i plead that you get to the point and avoid rigmarole. |
LordReed:Where in the Bible did He say that to me? |
LordReed:He said that to me? i never saw it,He said He didn't. |
LordReed:Why? |
LordReed:This again shows a huge level of ignorance about the Bible and God's ways. Christ's coming doesn't stop you or anyone from doing great and beautiful accomplishments. It actually motivates you. Many of you, including some misinformed Christians assume that the world is being prepped/prepared for the antichrist. You miraculously/conveniently forgot that(according to the Bible where you read about Jesus coming) the antichrist would actually be around/reign for 7 years which might still be shortened. Meanwhile Jesus Christ will be around and reign for a millennium/1000 years. So, tell me, how it doesn't make sense to build and overbuild sef. My only problem will be if people are being squeezed and pressured to give, though giving definitely comes with its blessings. In the case of the OP, this is not the case. |
LordReed:And why on earth or heaven should they be spending N100bn on the needy? How much are you spending on the needy that you want them/others to spend N100bn on the needy? They spend on the needy and they also spend on church buildings. Since you are not happy despite not putting N1 there, that's why it is taken that you want them to spend ALL on the needy. If indeed you don't expect/want them to spend all on the needy, how much is sufficient for you, any figure? |
KILLTHECOWS:It's government, not heaven. Are you a muslim or do you want to be a muslim? What happened during GEJ. He was booted out for the high level of incompetence, insecurity and economic embarrassment. His loss had no religious undertone. You can argue about tribe or not being a northerner, but not about religion. |
Delusions of grandeur. |
