Let me help you and those that foolishly agree with you. Jesus Christ answered ALL questions brought to Him as a teacher except this. That was this one you refer to which the chief priests, elders and scribes asked. The passage tells us why He did not answer them. He did not answer them because THEY KNEW the answer, but didn't want to accept it. They knew John was from God. In your case, i do not know if you are married or intend to marry. Two very different scenarios, plus the fact that Jesus answered every other question from them. There is no ulterior motive except you do not know the meaning of "ulterior motive". The motive is very clear and even stated. Jesus Christ answered the questions of His critics so well that they were not able to ask Him questions again. This is what is in the Bible, you are teaching something else, that Jesus did not answer questions. Take that dip i advised you on, you are far from Calvary and need someone to tell you.

The question the young man asked is a very good and selfless one which shows someone who has God's interest at heart. It's the same kind of question some of Jesus' disciples like Paul who were very passionate about God asked before making the decision to leave marriage for His Kingdom sake.

It's a very good thing to desire to follow Jesus' example or at least to see why He would do the things He did, to see if they were worthy of emulation.

The Bible doesn't teach that those are wrong decisions, but that they are advisable and worthy of emulation as Jesus and Paul proved. It's only rare because it is sacrificial and most men are not willing to make such sacrificial decisions for God. They are inclined to do things for there own self and marriage is mostly a self-centred decision. People hardly marry for God.

Most of the disciples of Jesus never married. Even those who married as Peter had to forsake their marriage. When it gets hot in the things of God, things like marriage become very secondary.

It's only people like you who have little or no love for God, that would consider someone who encourages and challenges people to give God quality just as He did when He gave His Son, and not settle for spiritual mediocrity, to be full of himself, so I'd take that as a compliment.
