He was referring to the generation at the time he was not yet crucified which is about 2000 years ago

2000 years have pass now, what is rapture still waiting for?

The interpretation is very clear and straightforward to any reader of the Bible in any language and translation and version. Every child of God is one in salvation and redemption, there is no lesser or greater.
