On one hand you claim infrastructure is good and necessary, now experts say we need to invest. $80-100bn every year for the next 10 years before we can hope to dent our infrastructure deficit. But all FG earns is $30bn every year. Now you expect them to extract $100b out of the $30b and you think that is possible without raising cash by other means? Sad commentary on your intelligence.
No matter the loans we get we can't raise $100b we need, hence automatically with logic, we can't close infrastructure gap in 10 years. Do we then throw up our hands in defeat? No, but that's what PDP did, forget infrastructure and share and loot the money while oil boom last. This strategy ensure we have nothing to fall back on when the inevitable Oil bust comes.

Rome was not built in a day. There is no need to borrow away our destiny because of infrastructure. Be innovative, strategic, careful and not a spendthrift and overbloated with your borrowing. With all your putting us in trouble, we are not getting the best and no good warranty. The rails are breaking down like rain and we have the guts to say there is nobody or parts to repair or maintain until China comes. Is that not madness? So nobody was trained and equipped for maintenance. Just like Sri Lanka, all the so called borrowed money went to China, construction was done by Chinese government companies and workers. And if we continue with our usual carelessness, the project belongs to China, What $100 billion are you touting, was the railway built for $100billion? Was the rail project completed in a year? Are you thinking at all or just attempting to confuse the gullible? Can you engage in sane conversation without mentioning PDP or APC?

The APC strategy is to identify critical infrastructure that can support our non oil economy, one of which is logistics/transport hence the heavy investment in railway and roads. Monies normally shared via looting was mopped up hence the cry of no money in circulation.

Since you mopped up all the money, why are you borrowing again? So it is better for you to mop up the money and there should be no money in circulation? Is that how normal people do things? You deliberately stop money from being in circulation? Do you realise the far reaching implications of this action you are so proud of?

Because of the huge bureaucracy on ground and loss of 70% of govt income, it would be painful to further send civil servants home or retrenched. Hence the other option is to take foreign loans for infrastructure to help businesses lower costs, to expand and employ. The law does not allow foreign loans for any other purpose than capital investment and human resources. The moratorium is 7 years before payment is due, hence the loan GEJ signed in 2010, repayment started in 2017. The project took 6 years to commercial roll out 2016, so we had 1 year to run it before payment.
Lagos Ibadan SGR loan was signed in 2017, operations started in 2020, so we have 3 years to operate and positively impact lives and business before first payment is due 2023. Thriving businesses means increased employment and more revenue for govt, and better ability to repay.
Without bank financing Lagos Ibadan SGR might have taken 33 years like the critical Itakpe Warri rail to complete. Those riding the rails now would have waited till 2050 because we are afraid of loans or have no ideas how to pay back.
What many of you don't know is that not completing Itakpe-Warri- Ajaokuta rail was a major cause of delay in our steel ambition at Ajaokuta. A plant tying down resources that could create 50,000 direct jobs and another 250,000 indirect jobs. Once this plant starts working a few years from now, you won't understand this background, and might not even know you joined to oppose the strategic steps and decisions that made it possible.

I understand such logical and strategic planning and thinking is very strange to most Nigerians many of whom live for the day and can't connect actions of today with outcomes of tomorrow.

All these one you are wailing about is story. Be careful with what you are signing and borrowing and pay back. You don't have the brain power to process the fact that Nigeria is not Sri Lanka. We are a $450bn economy, even China loan of $100bn cannot make China take over anything. We have too much assets we can unlock to pay back if need be. We have already paid back 30% of the loan for Abuja-Kaduna rail which will eventually connect to Lagos seaport and turn over even more freight traffic and returns. It will make cost of food transport cheaper and faster, it will make our exports more competitive on the world market. More industries can locate along rail routes with improved logistics. Internal tourism can be enhanced with ease of movement. All these will create more wealth and more jobs directly addressing the poverty and security problems.

Now we can't raise all the cash we need at once, just like many people can't pay for a new house cash down. They either rent and save for the next 10 years building from their savings or take a mortgage like abroad and start living in the house instead of paying rent for many years.

It is this possibility that you join politicians who couldn't fix a thing when they held power to condemn and criticize, using faux pas and scaremongering like China will take over, sovereign immunity etc. They know you will fall for such since critical thinking is not our strong forte.

All this is just to let you know the possibility you're fighting against thinking you are doing the lord's work.

So we should not caution you on reckless borrowings and agreements? Do you people think at all, or you believe your job is just to defend whatever policy and arrangements you are making. Okay, so i said i'll be back to reply this question. Firstly though, i need to state that i am not into the topic of the thread ( Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses!), neither do i really agree with the goal of showing who has the best Bible "study" or question answering skills, or of who is the one only and most XYZ group in the world etc. However, in the Spirit of Christ, and of making peace in which i was asked the question, i'll proceed with these.

Genesis 1v28 in a couple of translations below,

-(ASV)  And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

-(BBE)  And God gave them his blessing and said to them, Be fertile and have increase, and make the earth full and be masters of it; be rulers over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing moving on the earth.

-(CEV)  God gave them his blessing and said: Have a lot of children! Fill the earth with people and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the ocean, the birds in the sky, and every animal on the earth.

-(ESV)  And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

As can be seen in the different translations, the message still shines through to man to have dominion. It is a message to all of humanity. It is a clear plan and task for man to accomplish. MAN in this case does not refer to one man or to every single man, but to humanity collectively. Evidently, we cannot all be fishermen or hunters in ab attempt to rule over fish or fowls. that is not what the verse is saying, and it is funny to assume that every single man must fill the earth or travel around the earth or "bear children". Jesus Christ is very clear and explicit about it and there is no one in a better position to tell us about every man's ability and capacity.

Mat_19:12  For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Eunuchs are of course not capable of having biological children. Yet, Jesus says that God created some as eunuchs from their mother's womb, and that some others are justifiably eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. So again, God is not commanding every single man or woman to as a must bear biological children. Neither is there some sort of punishment awaiting people who do not have biological children. God will not tell you to do what you cannot do, it is inconsistent with His nature and Word.
Among many other things, what God was saying in Genesis 1v28 was that man was not expected to just stay in the garden of Eden, but to spread across the earth. Some people tried to stay put at the tower of Babel though. This is man usually though, too much sense can literally kill man. What animals will do by instinct, man's sense will fight and delay. Who in his right senses will leave Eden and go to some unfavourable weather to build Canada or Dubai? But we thank God for the command and even push. God said, go and replenish the earth. That is, go and remake what you have seen here in other places all over. Make everywhere a beauty and under the control of man, not animals.
There are many ways in which we can be fruitful and multiply. Like i have earlier said, it is not by everyone becoming a fisherman or hunter or impregnating people's daughters. We can multiply wisdom, multiply innovation, multiply knowlegde, share ideas, working business models and economies. The way things work well in developed places can be multiplied. The way people have healthcare, electricity, fresh food, cheap commodities and water in some parts of the world can be replenished in every other part of the world. And of course spiritually(which is where some think is some kind of revelation), we can be fruitful and multiply. Elijah can produce not just Elisha but Elishas, Paul and Peter can produce other apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ can produce disciples in multitude without necessarily having biological offspring. And so on and forth. This is an amplification of the verse. Anyone else can further amplify it in line with the whole counsel of God.

Yesterday morning I had the last slice of the bread that the Lord baked for me on the 10^th of June. I had it with beans.

Seeing it lasted almost a month, I can't exactly say it was the bread of life, but I guess we can call it the bread of a month. So I thank the Lord for my daily bread of the month of June and ask that I be baked another loaf for the month of July. Amen.
