Fine, don't owe. Then don't even borrow in the first place/instance. It's not good to owe but it's not a damnable sin especially if you have the mind and will to pay back. Paul wrote to Philemon about a brother owing, and how he(Paul) was ready to owe for a while.

Tithe is not a gift, the passage you are referring to talks of a gift. Also, the passage doesn't excuse not giving the gift. It says settle your issue and offer the gift. They don't substitute for one another.

Anyone can be contrite for any reason, don't put them all in one box. Conscience is a funny thing. Some killers and thieves have no conscience and even justify their actions. It doesn't mean what is inappropriate has become appropriate, what is wrong is wrong. I've not said anyone should be punished or unpunished.
Context is very important in life, not just action like you try to generalise. There's nothing wrong in taking money for instance, but whose money and for what purpose says a lot. Is it my 50naira or yours? Where was it taken and when can be a determining factor in life and death, jungle justice or a wink. Conjugal bliss should be within the confines of marriage. If you think humans should behave like animals, i don't think so.

Many sinners, homosexuals, thieves, adulterers, and murderers are contrite about their deeds, many others are brazen and profiting in it. Theres a BIG difference between those people and gays. Gays dont cause harm to an external person by their actions. A killer takes a life he didnt create.. A thief takes what doesnt belong to him etc.

The point remains that being born a particular way or having a certain orientation doesn't mean you must remain the same. Some people are born with some sickness, inability, weakness for instance. But they do things to overcome it, not just excusing it as born that way. Illiteracy, fear, some bodily weakness are things many are born with. We cannot just wave them off as right or harming no one. What is not good enough is not good enough.

Then read your Bible again...there were methods and procedures to administer justice and mercy under the Mosaic Law (yes...the weightier matters of the Law)... Are you bound as a follower of Jesus to follow the stringent requirements of the Mosaic Law to administer justice and mercy?

Mat 23:23  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 

The LORD Jesus said that the weightier matters of the law are judgment, mercy, and faith. But okaicorne is talking about 600 laws of Moses, maybe he is a comedian or drunk to think i would take his words higher than that of my Lord. You obviously lack understanding. i just said and quoted that tithing is NOT a weightier matter of the law and asked you why you obey the weightier matters of the law.
