Kay 17: On the public stage, homosexuality should be decriminalized, and left to be a matter of conscience.i guess the OP was seeking biblical perspective. |
Hey, i've finished answering to my satisfaction. thanks for your patience. Like a friend of mine would say "always read the fine print." |
Heb 7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, paid tithes in Abraham. This verse again clearly shows that Levi paid tithes in Abraham. Payment of tithes was before Levi, before the Levitical priesthood, before the law. Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron? Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. Perfection is not by the Levitical priest hood but by Christ's priesthood. This is the point been made, and Levi's payment of tithes has been used by the writer to achieve that point. The issue here is not with the tithe, the tithe talk was just a means to an end. The end/issue here was the old covenant, the law of carnal commandments, the law of been pleasing to God by killing this and purifying that. That's the law that came with the Levitical priesthood. Touch, not taste not, handle not. Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. Washing of hands, cleansing for X number of days, meat offering, burnt offering, unclean and clean animals. These were the laws that the Israelites tried to observe TO BE PURE before God. Tithe was a moral law albeit weightless, not a ceremonial law. The ceremonial law of carnal ordinances is what came with the Levitical priesthood and could never make the observers clean or perfect. There's no fault with the moral laws mercy, faith are all part of this moral law, even weightier than tithes in the law. Mercy still stands forever. Thou shall not kill, steal or covet, those are not the ceremonial laws, or the Levitical priesthood laws. Abraham knew thou shalt not kill or covet. He knew about tithes. The law being changed was this ceremonial laws. Heb 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. he of whom these things are spoken is Christ, not Melchisedek. He's the One the writerr has been talking about all the while when we are busy chasing shadows and translations. And the verse says He came from another tribe. 'Another' the operative word to prove that the net testament priesthood is ANOTHER, not Levi. Levi controlled the altar, the courts the temple, the ark and co in the OT. But enter the NT Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. It's an Evidence, not a weakness, to prove the ANOTHER of the ORDER of Melchizedek. It's not in anyway talking about tithes. He's left tithe in verse 9 where it belongs after using it to prove the greatness of Christ. Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchizedek there ariseth another priest, It's far more evident. He's been quoting the Psalms and later re-quoted it. about the priest to come, after the order of Melchisedek Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. Heb 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. The law He's referring to is very clear here. It's the law of a carnal commandment, that's explained above and all through scriptures. i'm aware Kunle(and i guess other anti-tithers, for they follow and agree with one another like bees)says the law is the law of tithe. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE LAW OF TITHE. It's no where in the scriptures, it's only a figment of anti-tithers' imaginations. God is not as unserious as these folks to be thinking up flimsy thoughts like the law of tithe. There are weightier matters to the law than to dedicate some special law of tithe. Mat 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. You know, in the Bible, have read of the law of Moses, the law of God, even the law of the king, the law of faith, the law of sin and death, the law of works, the law of the Spirit of life, the law of righteousness, the law of liberty etc. But the law of tithe, that's laughable in the courts of Heaven. iguess they'd be wondering at such unseriousness. So, please study the Word and show yourself approved unto God, not just to the anti-tithe community. Find out what law, what commandment is unprofitable and changed and for what? Find out and rightly divide the Word of Truth. Truth hurts less with time. |
Act 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Again, i want to plead that we all be like this noble Berean christians. Let's search for ourselves whether those things being said are so. This attitude of anti-tithers brotherhood is uncalled for. Anything and everything posted against tithes or a pro-tither is taken warmly and 100% by all. that's unneeded. Let's be sincere and honest. let's see things for ourselves. just like recently i said "@Goshen You're one funny brother. The one i asked you to look for in all the versions and languages, you dodged artfully. The one i no send you, na hin you paste. If God permits, before Tuesday i should answer your questions5 to my satisfaction. Meanwhile, eat the patient roll." For God's sake, Before Tuesday is Saturday, Sunday and Monday. i planned to go somewhere today, and i'm not sure how chanced i might be tomorrow. That's why i said before Tuesday. But i later did not go where i wanted as prior-planned. But to come in and see every anti-tither celebrating and all stating what i never said, it's bad, it's bad. that's one reason i keep on hammering on sincerity. Look at what you all made of my statement, and how you all stood by one anotherr defending what i did not say, and NONE of you could point out the fact? Goshen: Am just waiting for Tuesday bro. No more no less.We should just wait for Tuesday. You guys should just be patient please and let's wait till Tuesday. WE ALL SHOULD HAVE PATIENT, TUESDAY IS AROUND THE CORNER. Thank y'all. Me just dey wait for Tuesday to come. Am counting days, Tuesday is around the corner for Image123 to come out OPENLY. Just counting my time till Tuesday and dats all that matters for now. Nuclear: Your adversary would have run off long before Tuesday! We are all keeping the thread alive as if we refuse to answer, he'll just walk away (which he will presently do anyway)! Kunle: Whilst we are waiting for image to return from his pilgrimage i would just like to share this scripture i came across whilst studying the scriptures this morning: Well, to other matters. 5e) God gave the Levites the tithe of israel FOR their service to God, not because He excluded them from owning land. Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. Here is the chief reason why God gave the Levites the tithe. i've told you that they had land and cities. They were not to have an inheritance among the children of Israel, because of their special calling. It doesn't say they were not to have an inheritance, or not to have land or build houses. god was their inheritance and He gave them cities to dwell in. These cities were not in the air or on water. Why do you always want the letter of the law above the spirit on these issues? Lev 25:32 Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time. i showed you Joses a Levi had land in the NT, you downgraded him as one violating the command of God. There are instances also in the OT where a Levite owned land. Act 4:36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, Act 4:37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet. Joses was not condemned, but surnamed the son of consolation. i do not condemn any Levite or one in a Levitical class from owning property or building. In Hebrews 7, the writer was showing us that Jesus Christ is a greater HighPriest than any one in the Levitical priesthood. Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; This is what the whole of Hebrews is about, about Jesus Christ being greater and better than any other; than angels, than Moses, than Aaron, than Abraham, than any. It's an apologia for the new testament. It's not an harp about weightless issues like tithes. How you all miss thatt and say it's not talking about Jesus is amazing. The whole of the OT is talking about Jesus, how much more the NT! The writer makes His point for Jesus' superiority over the OT by bringing together Abraham(the father of the Jews), and Levi(the Father of the old testament/covenant priesthood). And pointing out that someone(Melchisedek) is greater than them, and that Jesus is of the order of Melchisedek, therefore greater than Abraham and the OT priesthood. Melchisedek answers to Christ, not the other way round. Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. Heb 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: The Levites "have a commandment to take tithes", not "had" but "have". Evidently, tithe taking was still in practice during the time of the early christians, and they did not object it or argue against it. Instead, the fact was used to make a salient point for the Lordship of Jesus. Heb 7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. The tense there is in the past, it's referring to when Abraham gave tithe to Melchisedek. He is a descendant of Levi but He received tithe, even from Abraham and Levi. that proved his superiority to Abraham and Levi. It doesn't say that 'he is not eligible to receive tithes' and some other nonsense you guys have been making up. The verse/passage did not deny his eligibility to receive tithe. Heb 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. . Instead, He is shown to be better and greater than Levi, thereby making Christ to be greater and better than them, because Christ is of the order of Melchisedek. Heb 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. Here, men that die receive tithes. That's continuous, not a past thing. BUt there HE RECEVETH THEM. HE RECEIVETH them, not 'HE received' them. If it was 'HE RECEIVED THEM', of course, there's agreement that it's referring to Melchisedek. But 'He RECEIVETH THEM'. WHo is receiving them. How can it be Melchisedek? Does that even make sense at all? The bolded question is not rhetorical, please answer. Does it make sense at all for Melchisedek to still be receiving tithes in the present continuous? How, and from who does he receive tithes? Who's giving tithes to Melchisedek, that we can say Melchisedek receiveth them? It is Christ Jesus that receiveth them. let's look at some of your translations. None of them directly says that Melchisedek receiveth tithes. Heb 7:8 from different translations below: Hebrews 7:8 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) 8 Those priests get a tenth, but they are only men who live and then die. But Melchizedek, who got a tenth from Abraham, continues to live, as the Scriptures say. DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. Hebrews 7:8 Amplified Bible (AMP) 8Furthermore, here [in the Levitical priesthood] tithes are received by men who are subject to death; while there [in the case of Melchizedek], they are received by one of whom it is testified that he lives [perpetually]. NOTE THE BOLDED, they are RECEIVED BY ONE, (NOT they are RECEIVED BY MELCHISEDEK) Hebrews 7:8 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW) 8 Priests receive a tenth of everything, but they die. Melchizedek received a tenth of everything, but we are told that he lives. DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. Hebrews 7:8 Good News Translation (GNT) 8 In the case of the priests the tenth is collected by men who die; but as for Melchizedek the tenth was collected by one who lives, as the scripture says. Again, the tithe was collected by One, this One is Jesus not Melchisedek. Hebrews 7:8 The Message (MSG) 8-10Or look at it this way: We pay our tithes to priests who die, but Abraham paid tithes to a priest who, the Scripture says, "lives." Ultimately you could even say that since Levi descended from Abraham, who paid tithes to Melchizedek, when we pay tithes to the priestly tribe of Levi they end up with Melchizedek. Here, the MESSAGE Bible reads the popular meaning into the text, in a sincere attempt to bring the message to us. 8 Priests receive a tenth, even though they are only men who live and then die. But Melchizedek, who received a tenth from Abraham, continues living, as the Scripture says. what version is this BTW? DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. Hebrews 7:8 New Living Translation (NLT) 8 The priests who collect tithes are men who die, so Melchizedek is greater than they are, because we are told that he lives on. DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. Hebrews 7:8 Worldwide English (New Testament) (WE) 8Here, priests take their tenth, but they are people who will die one day. But Melchizedek, who took his tenth, never dies. The holy writings say it is so. DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. (ASV) And here men that die receive tithes; but there one, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. SAYS ONE (Darby) And here dying men receive tithes; but there one of whom the witness is that he lives; DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. SAYS ONE (WEB) Here people who die receive tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives. DOESN'T SAY MELCHISEDEK RECEIVES TITHE. SAYS ONE Who is this ONE that receives even into the future, cos no one's giving tithe to Melchi at present. Heb 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. The ONE of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. Who on earth is WITNESSED that He liveth, Melchisedek? NO. It's the Lord's Christ. Rom 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 2Corinth 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 4 scriptural witnesses. FOUR proving that Christ is the one that liveth forever more. There's no witness to bear out Melchisedek, except of course Melchisedek is Christ, as 'some scholars' have thought. there goes scriptural proofs that witness the One who liveth to receive my tithes and make intercessions for me. NOW, to the law. |
5(a) Did LEVI who RECEIVES tithes also PAID tithes in and through Abraham?ANS: A comprehension test? You must be in the spirit of the ongoing wassce. What's this question got to do with anything except to catch me in my words, hypocrital. ARRIVAL Hebrews 7. Well let's make some foundations and note the basics in Hebrews 7. If you read from verse1-8, you'd SEE that before Levi, there was a priest/clergy/spiritual leader. AND before Levi, there was tithe. I'd so love to go into detail but not to irk your cohorts, let's move on. Note the tense used in verse 9 'Levi RECEIVETH tithes'. Receiveth is not past tense, it's continuous present abi na future continuous(Debo, which one?). The verse ABOLISHES your claims that there is no more receipt of tithes. The writer of this epistle saw tithe as a present continuous thing to do, else He would have said "Levi also, who RECEIVED tithes". The verse then says Levi paid tithes IN Abraham i.e just like we all sinned IN Adam. Note the bolded in my answers, and ask yourself in sincerity if the questions were answered or not. Did you also note the bolded part of Goshen's question? Does it in any way surprise you that he's later the first to say "I can't just understand why you go in CIRCLE when it comes to simple answers." . To add salt to the injury, Goshen said "I didn't put my "RECEIVE" in past tense and neither did i CLAIM ANYTHING. As a matter of fact, nobody cares about whether is in past, present, present continues and even future tense. " This the Goshen that was coloring the 'ed' in that bizarre post of his, where he was proving that Levites were abolished. Suddenly, nobody cares about the tenses. iguess the Hebrew writer just used the tenses thatt came fancifully to His brain? 5(b) According to Hebrews 7: 11-12, Was the LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD and ITS LAW CHANGED OR NOT?ANS: Good of you, you amended your error. i wish you could do that more often. Levites cannot be abolished, at least not from the Bible. They are a tribe in Israel, and we still see them in the future in Revelations 7. Maybe/it appears you people don't know the meaning of 'abolish'. Abolish means put an end to. e.g like slave trade abolished. It's not the same thing as 'change'. Like i can change from channel1 to channel2. That's different from abolishing channel1. We shouldn't just use big grammar to confuse ourselves. The Levitical priesthood was changed not abolished. The KJV talks of abolishing idols, even righteousness, works, enmity, death. It never mentions abolishing the Levitical priesthood, what we see is change. Note again, tithe is not a subset of Levi, it existed before Levi. Priests/clergy/ministers are not a subset of Levi, they existed before Levi. Note that the question was answered. Some would skip all that, like many did and ask "what of the law part, what of the law part?" Well, we will get to that before Tuesday, God willing. As Goshen has where he is going, i also have where i'm going. let's take it and understand it one by one, instead of mumbling it all up as it's customary. Goshen asked "CAN YOU PLEASE ATTEND TO THE LAW ASPECT REGULATING THE LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD, DOES IT REMAIN WHILE THE PRIESTHOOD IS CHANGED?" i'd answer that shortly, God sparing our lives. (c) If you claim that the Levi, its Levi-tical Priesthood and Laws still exist today in the body of Christ (remember this Levi is one who functions in the levitical preisthood, who receives and paid tithes in/through Abraham v9-10), WHY IS IT NOT CALLED ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF AARON (Heb 7:11) BUT ACCORDING TO THE TRIBE OF JUDAH (Heb 7:13-14)?ANS: i didn't make such claims. i said we still have God's ministers working full-time and that it's no more limited to a tribe. We still have an High Priest, albeit an unchangeable one Jesus, of the tribe of Judah. Today, you can be black and non-Jew and still work for God full-time, that's NT. It's no more the exclusive preserve of the tribe of Levi or the house of Aaron. Today, Jesus still RECEIVETH tithes Hebrews 7v8. "And here men that die receive tithes; but there HE RECEIVETH THEM, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth." (Hebrews 7.8 ) (d) According to Hebrews 7 :13-14. Jesus arose from the tribe of Judah which makes it clear that even Jesus nor anyone from His tribe was not eligible to receive or collect tithes because He was not from the tribe of levi who were commanded to receive and pay tithe. DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS BIBLE TRUTH? if you don't agree with this bible truth, kindly state your reason(s)ANS: Hebrews 7.8 clearly says that Jesus receives tithes and is eligible to. God is not a man, neither is He Moses. He receiveth continually and continuously, or as in soccer parlance `tithe4life`. Hebrews 7v13-14 say nothing about tithes. You can check all the versions and language bibles you can lay hands on. You're adding to the Word again, why? This assignment Hebrews 7v13-14 say nothing about tithes. You can check all the versions and language bibles you can lay hands on is yet to be submitted, instead all we have seen is sensationalism and unneeded quotes about to be debunked. (e) As a PRECONDITION to the Levites accepting/inheriting the tithes, God EXCLUDED them from OWNING LAND in Israel because tithe is given to them as their inheritance. WHY IS "NOT OWNING LAND" NOT PRACTICED TO FULFILL THE CONDITIONS FOR RECEIVING TITHE OR WHY DO TITHE TEACHERS/PREACHERS OWN LAND/BUILD HOUSES YET STILL RECEIVE TITHE - Is this part of God's ordinance being practised in today's tithe doctrine?ANS: God gave the Levites the tithe of israel FOR their service to God, not because He excluded them from owning land. Goshen! i don't really get your 'exclusion from not owning land' bit. The Levites had CITIES to dwell in. They were to fully concentrate on God's service, and not to busy themselves with sowing and harvest like other tribes. That's the part/bit that i know. But and if you insist, we are new testament christians and not subject to 'do not own land' laws. Acts 4.36,37 Joses was a Levite and a new testament christian. He owned land and even sold it. There's no such condition of which you speak, at least not in the NT which i operate in. Be 'berean christians' guys, not just winners of points and arguments. Truth hurts less with time. All the questions had been soundly answered. So NEXT UP, explanations. |
Again, a recap in your faces to your dishonesty and insincerity. So far, Question 1: Do you believe God says what He meant and mean what He says? As in, Do you believe God is SPECIFIC when it come to instruction? As in, Moses, Speak to the Rock is different from/to Moses Strike the Rock?ANS: i know that God means what He says. Sometimes God is specific and detailed like when He gave instructions for building of the ark, some times, He's not like when He says if your eye offend you, cut it off. It takes a relationship with God and a balanced knowledge of God's Word(the Bible) to understand God more and grow in His knowledge. Not A1 in English. How question 1's answer is not direct, i do not understand. After this answer, i was accused by Kunle of been fraudulent, dishonest and lacking in integrity. Nuclear even said "Now he has shown everyone that he has no points to face Kunle, Jem1 or Goshen!. He has nothing to say ". And other many insults which i have refused to comment on. Very christlike of you guys, and commendable don't you think? Q2: Since you accepted and believed that God is VERY SPECIFIC ON INSTRUCTIONNow this is dishonest, and a ra.pe of english comprehension. I said SOMETIMES, Goshen says somehow interprets it to suit his purpose. Another question 2 Q2 NOW, Do you BELIEVE and ACCEPT that God SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED THAT TITHE SHOULD BE TAKEN/BROUGHT FROM CROPS AND ANIMALS ONLY AND MONEY IS NEVER/NOT INSTRUCTED IN GOD'S TITHING EVEN THOUGH MONEY EXISTED THEN?ANS: i said that SOMETIMES, God is specific and detailed on instruction, OTHER TIMES, HE IS NOT. And i gave examples. It's either we're just trying to win an argument, or we're learning and discussing. It's good if you'll choose which in sincerity and not be seeking to catch me in my words like the pharisees. God NEVER put the word 'ONLY', antitithers did. You're becoming guilty of adding to God's Word and i hope you know the consequences. It's good you realise your sins and repent quickly. Tithe is clearly from 'ALL things' as read in 2Chronicles 31v5. We should look at the whole scriptures in totality, not just picking and choosing our fancies. Abraham gave tithes and it was not ONLY of crops and animals, was it? His tithes was accepted and acknowledged even in Hebrews 7 as by God's Spirit. The question is wrong, and i proved that. No one is yet to come back with where God mentioned "only" and "tithe". Instead i was accused of "trying" to beat around now. Goshen went on some nitpicking of 2 Chro 31:5 which was quickly brushed aside, and attention focused on question 3, after of course the ridiculous "the whole world knows that Jesus wasn't giving INSTRUCTIONS in the verse you used as example". i guess i didn't give the fall off the cliff answer, so no (After you answer this Q2, I will tell you the reason why it was specify) Thank you.. Q3. WHAT ARE GOD'S SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS WHEN HE INSTRUCTED TITHE?ANS: i'm not NOW teaching that tithe is from ALL THINGS. Tithe has ALWAYS been from ALL since forever. Ask Abraham our Father, he gave tithes of ALL(Genesis 14v20). So it's not a new thing, it precedes, seniors and surpasses Levi. Abraham gave tithes OF ALL, He's the father of faith and of ALL faithful givers. He's the one who rejoiced to SEE our day. He saw it, and oh boy, how glad He was. He would not be limited by carnal ordinances. Jesus wasn't giving instruction? My, oh my, you're one lucky person Goshen. Kunle should not dare this. "The world" is looking and watching your fumble. God's instruction encompasses the whole of scriptures. Look into the whole scriptures. Start from the places that speak of tithes and find out. Luke 18.12 is very significant. "I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. " (Luke 18:12). A man, speaking of the common practice in Jesus' days, "I give tithes OF ALL that I possess". These are the facts. Truth hurts less with time. In case you still didn't get it, that answer says there's no one specific instruction on tithe. We have to look roundly at the whole of scriptures, and i gave a scripture which was swept under the carpet. There was that strange "answer question 3 please" part. There was that specific failure to realise that all scripture is instruction. All they wanted was Leviticus, but it's not just Leviticus. We can't be removing from God's Word because we want to make points. Q4: Was the Levites or Levitical priesthood (who were instructed/commanded to receive tithe and in turn pay tithe to the priest) ABOLISHED or NOT?ANS: The Bible does not say anywhere that the Levites were abolished. Instead of taking the simple one line answer, nuclear boy decided not to see the question well again. He said "I thought the question was if the levitical "priesthood" was abolished! So how does it become if the Levites were abolished?". Till date, none of you's yet to acknowledge the ambiguity of the question. That's pride and insincerity. Goshen on his own style gave a bizarre post trying to prove his mistake. Till date, i doubt that you guys even acknowledge the difference between "abolish" and "change". Instead of nuclear to correct Goshen, he went to asking unnecessary and diversionary questions about my personal life, which i promptly answered so that we can get back on track. What did they do with those questions? They called me names and gave me the counsels of the ungodly. And Goshen came back to ask question 5. Like has been common to say on nl recently, "God is watching". |
nuclearboy: Seems whenever we reply Image, he uses that as an excuse to move away from what's important and is in front of him! Maybe its better to just sit back and enjoy this show of shame! nuclearboy: Image:The bolded is why i quoted where you guys danced around without answering the straight questions asked. Again, are these my accusers? |
Okay bidg, here i am, sorry to keep you waiting. I readily admit that you must repent and believe before you are saved. I just think God brings you to a realization of this, not yourself. You don't just suddenly make yourself believe because you own mind "figured out God". There is no way to logically deduce what God has done for us, or who he is.We should realise that God brings us ALL to this realisation. And He(God) has given to every man a measure of faith to believe. Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. It's like sight. One may have sight but close his eyes or refuse to SHINE his eyes. Such a person would stumble. Not everybody responds to God's calling and promptings. God's grace has already appeared to ALL men. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Not everyone responds immediately like Paul the apostle. The exhortation is Ïf you would hear His voice, harden not your heart. Some harden their hearts for years before finally believing and repenting. Some harden forever till they die, some respond as soon as the gospel is made, like Paul Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, Galatians 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Some people still look at friends, colleagues, etc before they surrender to God's Lordship, some surrender immediately. I think I'm going to switch my mode of operation on the forum. Arguing is not going to work here. People have been debating this for (I'm guessing) centuries, and we aren't going to come to a conclusion on this tiny forum.Salvation is a two way thing when we look deeply into the scriptures i.e God plays His part which is the huge part, and we humans play our part, which is little. To be saved, you have to do something Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Jesus said He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved. Like seen in your bolded quote, this salvation is PROgressive. After the initial salvation that involves believing and repenting, one still needs to ENDURE and KEEP. ENDURE and KEEP are verbs, they are things we are to do. We all know God's power and part in our salvation, i'm not expounding that here. What i'm expounding is our part/responsibility as shown in scriptures. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. It is he that overcometh that shall be saved. This keeping, and enduring and overcoming have to do with relying on God's grace and word. Endeavouring to keep fellowship and unity and love. Many times Jesus admonished His own not to doubt but have faith. The secret is that He that comes to God MUST believe(Hebrew 11). As many as received Him, they are the ones He gave power. Second, since you believe your salvation is not guaranteed to anyone, what is the limit at which someone is no longer saved? What or how much wickedness must someone do in order to not be saved? Is the line between saved and not saved the same for everyone? The limit to salvation is when you stop believing or turn away. God has promised to be with us, but we also need to be with Him. It's a unity, a fellowship. He that does not abide loses his status. Strive to enter in Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Our salvation is conditioned on obedience John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 1John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. The line of salvation is the line of faith. Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. If anyone loses that faith, He is finished. that's why Jesus had to pray for Peter that his faith fail not. We need faith that God can forgive, we need faith that God can keep. We need faith to keep God's way and will. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. So faith is the line. He that COMETH to God MUST believe. That's why we are told to develop our faith, and build up ourselves on faith. Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Again, I apologize for being harsh and abrasive in my earlier posts. We are all Christians here, and whether or not we agree on the basis of our salvation, at least it seems like we all strive for a deeper understanding of God, and live our lives to serve Him. I'm going to do my best to keep my tone civil out of respect just for people brave enough to post on here. Basically, I'm going to actually listen to what you guys are saying before I just give off points that I have been waiting to throw out. So take the floor, answer my questions or say any other points you guys have, let's keep the thread organized and respectful.i'm also very sorry for every wrong i've done to you. This is gracious of you, and my prayer is that we both and all are saved even to the end. Thanks, i love you very much with the love of God. |
Love and fear is what happens together in real life. Grow up and come out of your logic class. |
mkmyers45: You dont even know and not even sure hahahahaMakes you happy? You need to grow up son, and face reality. |
Humility and sincerity are so scarce commodities on this thread. |
^Jem1 Your above response is one of the reasons i said i would not rebut your 'answers'. This your response is worse than your first response. We'd have still been on the rebutting part, and yet to get to where i answer Goshen. Because i also wouldn't take your answers, like Goshen's is not taking mine immediately. Imagine the chaos this thread can have been. The reason for my questions was obtained, i wasn't looking for your 'correct' answers, but something else. |
fubbyy: @ image , are you saying that biblically there is no where they mentioned that all sins are equal?Yes. |
mkmyers45: What is love and fear called when mixed together?reality, maybe. |
nuclearboy: @Debosky:i already did nuclear, i already did. Can you show where i've lied or i've been dishonest? |
Goshen's was a total beam with roots in the eye. He was actually dancing to 'worldly music' even. Goshen360: 5). Did Apostle Paul observe temple rites? |
Kunle's was a total failure, he actually dance afro-juju in the exam hall Pastor Kun: Answers to your questions are as follows: |
Nuke's second go at question 10 was like a break-dance, electrifxion nuclearboy: @image123: |
nuclearboy: 2). Did Jesus Christ ever tell some group of people to tithe? |
Meanwhile, just to tell my friends to remove the log in their eyes before accusing others. i'm not referring to correctness or wrong of the answer. But the complete irrelevance and dodge of the answers given makes one wonder, "are these my accusers". Kunle and Goshen were major culprits in this. Jem1: 9). Were ALL God's workers sustained through tithes in the Old Testament? |
@OP All sins are not equal, but all sins will earn one God's displeasure. Yes, mum might have said stuff like "sin is sin". What that means is like saying "sickness is sickness" or "lying is lying". It suggests that no sin is excusable. No lie, sickness or crime is permitted. |
@Goshen You're one funny brother. The one i asked you to look for in all the versions and languages, you dodged artfully. The one i no send you, na hin you paste. If God permits, before Tuesday i should answer your questions5 to my satisfaction. Meanwhile, eat the patient roll. |
musKeeto: do you want kpomo?Yes, i like it, fried ones, especially the one from clean animals. |
^ How dare you put me in the same class with your mentor? |
The real issue is not poverty wirinet. The real issue is the home. Are you advocating that poor people should commit suicide, or kill their kids, or not have children instead of watch them suffer? Who knows tomorrow. Many a rich and successful man and woman came from poor homes. Poor homes are not the real problem. It's broken homes. a broken home is the course of many of today's pain. |
It's a mix of love and fear. Fear in this case bearing more on reverence and respect. i've seen people love and fear their parents, their jobs, their alma-mata(schools), water, God etc. |
@bigd Saw your post o, no mind me. i'd reply tomorrow by God's grace. i'm in agreement with italo to the marrow on this though. |
musKeeto: u should know by now image and jo don't direct questions... except they;re the ones asking.. #makeIcarryMykpomoGoSellForAnotherThread...Do you speak english? |
Pastor Kun: The bible didn't say it bros, you are the one forcing your fraudulent opinion into scriptures. It was Melchizedek that was clearly being referred to in Hebrews 7:8 that receiveth tithes and NOT Jesus. Bros just a reminder that you are piling hot coals on your head by this your persistent and continues twisting of scriptures.Melchisedek receiveth tithes? Hahaha, wetin i no go read for NL o. |
Zikkyy: Haba prophetic-apostle Image123, how can you say a thing like thisi didn't say it, the Bible did. Don't worry about your fallen hand, i'm here to lift them up and the feeble knees. One dose of holyine is all you need mehn. |
Goshen, you don't understand that Hebrew passage. It's evident to me. "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all THE TENTH in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation." (Numbers 18:21). This is clear and distinct enough to the unbiased reader. You bring up passages that don't even mention tithe and haul them at us. 'The world' is watching. |
5e). God gave the Levites the tithe of israel FOR their service to God, not because He excluded them from owning land. Goshen! i don't really get your 'exclusion from not owning land' bit. |
