@Debo Spare us the Epistle of complete twaddle.Give the opposition some credit? You have been making mediocre opposition look like world beaters for the past 2 months-S.Bucharest,Newcastle,Boro,Sunderland and even Wigan. We are not MTN,how much credit are we supposed to give the opposition every time you turn a game into a slug fest? You remain convinced in your monumental delusion! That's the spirit!Typical Gooner.Who else can we laugh at at the end of the season. Keep your chin up.You will finish in 3rd place this season ![]() |
@Jackal If we gave this Arsenal side a 10 point head start, they will still lose it.This is coming a few days after Wenger claimed Gooners were here to stay at the top of the table. Fabregas is Darren Fletcher in disguise. Adebayor was my best player Its clear he doesn't have a clue what he is doing. Can Gooners beat Everton?I don't think so. . . only major refeering decisions could gift Arsenal 3 points . We were so good today, even the ghost worker,Saha, turned up.We have a thing for 4 goals, even Arsenal will struggle at the Stadium of Light. . . Arsenal are regional champions, they don't win games in the North anymore ![]() |
@Debo Oh!So you now realise the league isn't won half way through?Congratulations! It took you this long to see what we have been drumming into your heads for the past few months. . . . .I wonder why you are now spouting that line The League does change from week to week.It wasn't long ago you were bleating about how many points ahead you were. What about the banal,"the league table doesn't lie" mantra. . . .you suddenly realized that there are lot of games remaining If you don't see a pattern to your team's performances, you must take off the blind fold.4 goals in 4 league games. 6 wins in 11 league games,at a time United won 9 in their past 11. Its better to have your hopes still high anyway. If Gooners weren't so hopelessly deluded,we won't have someone to laugh at I won't mind you guys regaining the top spot just to raise your hopes even more. We all know the title won't end up at the Emirates this season ![]() |
Millena:We have to go to Stamford Bridge? So have you,you also have to go to Goodison Park,Old Trafford and The City of Manchester Stadium. In contrast,we only have one away game against the top 6 remaining. . . .keep dreaming.Look out for Liverpool and Chelski instead. |
@Jackal Cesc has been playing below par for a long time, even before his hamstring.I once saw a physiotherapist say that Cesc's physique means that he can't play at his peak for most of a league season. . . I hope he is correct. Even in the 2 games against Liverpool and Utd,his goals belied a generally poor influence on Arsenal's games. Never mind Debosky. He is too miserable today to trot out his usual horse hockey of excuses Gooners reign at the top was simply down to the fixture list.Play more away games, and things will start changing. They still have to play 4 of the top 6 away from home-Man City,Chelsea,Everton and Man Utd.Its going to be interesting ![]() |
@OgaV You have not won your last 3 away games .You have scored just 4 goals in your last 4 league games(United scored as many goals today as you scored in 4)Face it,there is something seriously wrong with the team. The key is Wenger's resort to playing Adebayor on his own up front .How many chances have you created in your last 5 or 6 games? I hope Wenger keeps playing one up front.By next month,Toure will be off for the ACN and things can only get worse ![]() |
@Debosky I thought you said there was no emerging pattern to your team's recent performances Its not just about this game.If you look back over the last 2 months, perhaps starting from the game against Sunderland, there has been a gradual deterioration in Gooner's performances.Even in some of the recent games you had won.You have decided to postpone your excuse-making till later.Too dumbstruck by your team's crap performances to spew your usual avalanche of the most pathetic excuses ever trotted on a football forum Hey,some interesting stat.Arsenal have never won the Premiership in a season they were top on Christmas day ![]() |
They can't win an away game!Dumb Gooners .If the Premiership fixtures could all be played in London,Arsenal would be title favorites. . . . but it ain't going to be the case. I knew Arsenal were going to drop points but I didn't know it would be against Pompey.I still expect them to drop points against Everton. Utd could drop points against W.Ham but we will still retain the top spot Up to the 85th minute,Arsenal had only 2 shots on target. This not a team that can win the League |
@Debosky Excuses please.Lets hear them.Almost all your key players are back You see what happens when you have away fixtures instead of the early favorable fixture list? You go from 5 points clear to a point behind. Lets hear the excuses.I enjoy them ![]() |
@Gooners Oya!Start firing your excuses!Lets hear them Everton awaits you guys ![]() |
Even a draw will put us on top, albeit briefly. The key is Arsenal's result against Pompey.I expect them to win easily.Pompey are poor at home and Arsenal have been buoyed the results against Chelski and Spurs. I do expect them to drop points against Everton,it remains to be seen whether we can pick up maximum points against W.Ham and Sunderland.I doubt it but I am fully confident we will ascend to the top spot at some point in January. Its a question of "when" rather than "if". |

RichyBlacK:You should be inducted into the slowpoke Hall of Fame. So the International Federation of Journalists should not be trusted? The deaths of the journalists in question is not even disputed by Russia, all the Russian Govt claims is that it has nothing to do with those deaths. The problem is that if journalists critical of the Govt keep turning up dead,it inevitably raises a cloud of suspicion. To be dismissive of the losses of the lives of brave journalists whose work bring intellectual illumination to our lives,is unpardonably callous.I guess you, being utterly benighted, don't value the contribution of journalists whose work form the basis of a lot of what we know about the world. You resort to the crass desperate tactic of blaming the messenger, attacking CNN for bias. You strangely recommend the BBC. Anybody with a modicum of knowledge of events in Russia knows that the Russian Govt has been having major rifts with the BBC.Some BBC broadcasts were taken off the air just recently. The BBC World Service recently did a hard-hitting feature programme on the deaths of journalists in Russia, which deaths you haughtily dismissed. I for one,who is no pro-Putin,often find the level of vitriol directed against Russia by the BBC overboard.BBC investigative journalists even gave credibility to the conspiracy theory that Putin was behind the apartment bombings in Russia that was used as the casus belli to launch a second military campaign in Chechnya. However,to dismiss reports of Putin's malfeasance as mere "Western bias",is sheer mind numbing foolishness. That Putin is a corrupt dictator at the head of a Govt equally adept at silencing Chechens and Russian journalists alike is self-evident.To dismiss all these in hare-brained attempt at "Eastern solidarity" against the "biased West" is a rather bizzare illustration of identity crisis and bone-headed analysis. |
RichyBlacK:This is the logic of the dysfunctional mind. Bush has "killed" 1 million Iraqis so Putin might as well decimate Russian Muslims in Chechnya .Where is the logical link between the 2? Russian security forces burnt down every single building in Grozny and deported almost every resident. That is okay because Putin "stands up" to the West.Never mind that Russia is culturally part of the West and represents an integral part of Caucasian hegemony. With RichyBlack, its always a case of stupid is as stupid does. |
@debo So why where you mocking the narrowness of our victory against Everton in the first place? If its only 3 points that matter, what was your point? Weren't Cesc and RVP available when you played Sunderland? So the jammy victory against S.Bucharest was due to the abscence of Cesc and RVP. The key thing is that you have gone from a 5 point advantage with a game in hand to a 1 point advantage with no game in hand.Comprehensive victories allow teams to take their foot off the pedal, conserve energy, take off key players and avoid injuries. 1 goal margins take a toll on players physically and mentally. There is a major difference between cruising through a 3-0 romp and hanging on to 1-0 or 2-1 lead to the very last minute.Yes,narrow "slug fest" victories actually cost you points eventually. You are far more likely to pick up injuries in a 1-0 victory than in a 3-0 victory, fatigue creeps in earlier than usual when teams keep failing to close off games |
Heard Silvio Berlusconi has been insisting that Ancellotti told him that Pato can score 30 goals in the 2nd half of the season If an 18 year old is Ancellotti's best hope,Milan are in serious trouble.@sage Buying Zambrotta won't be ideal. He will 31 next year and it will be a throw back to the same old policy of signing aging players. They should sign slightly younger players like Maresca(Seville) and Morretti(Valencia). They won't be too expensive and probably will have an immediate impact. |
debosky:The simple truth is that like a typical Gooner, you haven't got a clue what you are talking about. Are you mocking our jammy victory? Arsenal have had only one comprehensive win, against Reading,in the past 11 games. Every one of your games has tellingly turned into a slugfest, even home games against Steau Bucharest,Sunderland and Wigan. . . . . not the strongest of teams compared to Everton who had won 11 of their last undefeated 13 games. For now, both Arse and Utd will drop points in the next 2 games but Arse's jammy victories are a tell tale sign that they would lose their top spot in the coming weeks. Your reign at the top is in its last legs Enjoy it while it lasts because it will soon be over ![]() |
Kobojunkie:How do you know that?A market is only as big as what it can buy. How is the Nigerian market more capable? I am not an economist to give you the run down of it but I truly believe that and know that a lot of countries want to get a piece of that Nigerian market as soon as it opens up and they are not spending as much as they are on Nigeria, on south africa right now.Believing something doesn't make it true.Maybe "they" are spending more in South Africa because that is where they can get the best returns. This still leaves the question-how does 24hour electricity by itself solve the unemployment problem?Even China, has unemployment rates pushing double figures, you can't say it lacks potential or electrical infrastructure |
@hustler That wasn't even a full Inter side.Inter are full of confidence and have quality all over the pitch. They are easily the best side in Europe. Milan has problems in every department.Full backs are slow and aging, maybe Jankulowski will help when he returns.Seedorf was a mere passenger.Don't know what difference a Pato or Anelka might make unless Carlo Ancellotti starts playing a 2 man strike force with Kaka behind them. Playing one up front often leads to isolation for the lead striker and the opponents have a spare man to deal with Kaka. There is always a huge gap between the Milan attack and midfield. That is why I don't have much confidence in Milan's potentials in the UCL.There is a huge rot setting in that team and only a humiliating UCL ouster might open Milanese eyes |
@hustler Good analysis ! Tomorrow is the real "Grand Slam Sunday".Last Sunday was given that tag but failed to live up to expectations. We will be seeing 4 of the best teams in Europe-Barca,Real,Inter and Milan. Some skillful football, not the nonsense we watched last week. One of the aforementioned 4 will win the Champions League. I disagree with your claims that Chelski have "the easiest draw".Olympiakos have really impressed me and if they play anywhere like they did in the Group stages, they are going to give Chelski a run for their money. |
Kobojunkie:What? There are equally thousands of foreign companies interested in South Africa. Beyond our larger population, what makes us anymore attractive than South Africa? ![]() |
mrpataki:I no even see this comment. That is why I avoid reading other Gaynner's posts. Surely,Pat hasn't been watching the Prem for long.Maybe he is a newbie. |
@Jackal You missed Giggsy Wiggsy !How dare you Giggsy alone is better than all the mediocrities that Arse produced. |
I wonder why people are not considering Pato's potential impact in the 2nd half of the season. The boy is going to be hot next year! |
@Debosky What do you make of this article:http://www.heritage.org/Research/EnergyandEnvironment/wm1754.cfm It means the US could potentially be sitting on nearly 2 trillion barrels of oil |
I heard St Arsene is planning to sign an embryo . . . . . .very soon, spermatozoa will be starting for Arsenal in the Carling Cup,just watch and see! |
@Jackal I told you its in the "scriptures".The UnHoly Book,St Arsene's Letter to the Pedophiles Cap 1 Verse 2. Gooners must keep believing to remain Gooners. |
If we spend so much time dissing Arsenal, maybe one day this thread will show up everytime someone googles "Arsenal" I googled "Gaynner" and ended up on Nairaland http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=gaynner&btnG=Search&hl=en |
