Yes at that tournament probably overall in their career Baresi and Sammer were better.
So it could simply be that Podolski for a variety of reasons-injury to Rooney, playing for home team-was better than Rooney at that tournament so telling us Podolski was voted for by FIFA doesn't tell us much anymore than Hong Myung Bo getting more votes than Baresi in 94

This is the all star team of USA 1994 I wonder where you got your Mung Bo from?
That must be a comprehensive list of all the defenders in the 94 World Cup and their votes.

At least we know Jorginho and M Santos were better than Baresi or Sammer

As at last tournament i.e 2006 world cup, Lukas Podolski was the young player of the tournament.   FACT!!
So maybe FIFA that awarded him player of the tournament was retarded too.
Do you know that Hong Myung Bo was voted as one of the best defenders in the 94 World Cup?Presumably,he is a better defender than Constarcuta or Franco Baresi, who he finished ahead of

The evidence that you are an imbeccille is overwhelming and compelling. Its not just on the sports thread, your posts are a reflection of a compellingly moronic idiot.

Several IQ evaluations? What a slowpoke.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 1:49pm On Sep 17, 2007
The real goal is to stay ahead of Chelski, who are our main rivals for the title, not the other two pretenders.A win against them will be crucial next week.

My fear is of a backlash from Chelski.

@Jackal

The boy is a shameless retard.Since he came here,he has argued about Cantona being a midfielder,United finishing 15th at the end of season,he even told us that wages are deductible from operating profits.

The kid is an imbeccille.I asked him to find where I said something he suggested that I may have modified it instead of accepting that he was wrong.

He has issues with the English Language and scolds us for using big grammar. What an idiot. The quintessential Gunner-idiotic,ignorant and dishonest

Let me allow you some time to find where I said the above,I will reserve my invectives for later. Please find it,otherwise you shouldn't complain when I start excoriating you.

Christianity EtcRe: Two Women I Love Dearly Are Leaving Their Marriages by Iman3(m): 12:35am On Sep 17, 2007
Sometimes, its the only option. Some marriages are de facto "divorced relationships". . .there are many of them like that in Nigeria.

The couple just carry on due to societal pressures but they despise each other. That is more harmful than actually going through a divorce
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 12:32am On Sep 17, 2007
@Jackal

What do you think about Silvestre's injury.I think we have enough cover there in Evra and Johnny Evans.Evans is a fantastic prospect. He was on loan at Sunderland last season and he was one of the best players in the League.

Fergie should give him a chance.I believe he has been injured but has now recovered. If he is not up to the task, then SAF can consider signing a new left back next summer but I think Evans is one great prospect.

I saw some stats that show divorce rates amongst devout Christians is lower than the average rates in the US.Don't know how reliable they are

General Social Survey (GSS, 2000-2004)—one of the best known sources of sociological data. “Frequent” is attending church about once a week or more.

58%, non-frequent Black Protestants
54%, non-frequent Evangelicals
51%, no religion (e.g., atheists & agnostics)
48%, ALL NON-CHRISTIANS

47%, frequent Black Protestants
42%, non-frequent, mainline Protestants

Pompey have played against the top 4 sides already this season. Here is the opinion of Harry Redknapp from what he has seen:

As to whether these two dropped points will prove crucial for Liverpool, time will tell, but after being the first      manager to see all big four at close quarters, Redknapp is in no doubt where the title is heading. 'If I had to pick a champion, I'd pick Man United,' he said.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Iman3(m): 5:09pm On Sep 15, 2007
I-man - we won the league last time we were leading the league at this stage, but you don't seem to know that. Remember the unbeaten run?
You are way too ignorant to be debated with.At that point in the season,Utd were leading and Arsenal only established themselves at the top of the table after about 18 games, once the Rio 8 month suspension had kicked in.

Before then,Arsenal had acquired a reputation as draw specialists.  If you can't remember something, don't keep blustering ignorantly.

, . . .and yes,Everton's 3-1 win over Spurs was more comfortable than Arsenal's.Guess you didn't watch the game but that doesn't stop you blithering
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Iman3(m): 4:58pm On Sep 15, 2007
Banderas:
@Debosky, Early pacesetters have also been known to win the premiership. You should know that as a Manchester United fan.
One more thing. . . .if you define early pacesetter as a team leading the League after 5 or 6 games, then in the 15 Premiership seasons. . .only on 3 or 4 or occasions were the early pacesetters crowned Champions(The last 2 seasons,99/00 and possibly 93/94)

Most times, early pacesetters never win.More importantly,Wenger has never won the League when his team was an early pacesetter.

I was just watching a 01/02 game btw Utd and Arsenal(3-1 at Highbury),Arsenal were 9th in December/November.In all the seasons Wenger has won the League. . they did so by coming from behind. In the seasons his team got into an early lead. . . .they barely challenged for the title at the end.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Iman3(m): 4:41pm On Sep 15, 2007
@Banderas

Why should I not address as ignorant, someone who insisted that Cantona is a midfielder and that Utd might finish 15th this season?

@Debosky, Early pacesetters have also been known to win the premiership. You should know that as a Manchester United fan.
Another reason you are ignorant  grin

and by the way, how is everton's 3-1 more comfortable than ours? This must be some new Manchester United-ish mathematics.
If you watched that game, you will know that Everton were 3-1 up by half time. The game was one sided and it was over by half time.Spurs never looked like getting a point

Banderas:
Did you see Adebayor's volley? Pure class!

What are these Manchester United fans saying? We just beat Tottenham away 3-1. We didn't need to squeeze a 1-0 goal. Whether Tottenham is better than Everton is anybody's guess, but I can say this - Manchester United didn't find it easy beating Tottenham.
You seem to ignorantly suggest that football is like Mathematics.Arse-anal beat Spurs 3-1,Utd beat them 1-0,hence Arsenal's performance is far more laudable.

Using your metrics,Everton are 4th in the League,Spurs 14th. . . Everton also beat Spurs(3-1) at White Hart Lane this season even more comfortably than Arsenal. . . .where does that leave us?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Iman3(m): 4:07pm On Sep 15, 2007
orobo 50cl:
The reason arsenal had problems for 2 seasons back was because of our poor start to the season. So stop dreaming in lal la land and think arsenal is going to be 10 points behind manutd or chelsea this season. tongue
Ah. . .is that so?Did you not win 8 games in a row 3 seasons ago, averaging 4 goals per game, and still ended up 10,12 points behind Chelski.

Did Utd not have a similarly brilliant start a couple of seasons ago and still finished far behind Chelski?
Banderas:
I-man sharrap. This time last season, Manchester United had started to pace away from the rest of the premiership.
Just keep quiet. . .you seem to think that because the early pacesetters last season challenged for the title, that will neccesarily be the case this season.Throughout the history of the Premiership, the early pacesetters usually collapse. . .the last 2 seasons were actually an exception to the rule. You won't know that because,as you admitted, you only started watching the Prem recently
