Try and get me right. I never advice dat d photocopies shouldn't be done. It could be done 4 record purposes cuz i did mine too and wen it wasn't collected @ d embassy, i kept it for record purpose.

ighoosagie: .
To bring Ur child even if not included included at d initial stage wouldn't affect u filing for him or her, 1st u need good credit, 2nd u didnt know d child was urs at d time of ur filling, 3rd becos u are only a green card holder and not a citizen it will take 2 and half 2 3yrs for d process.
Thanks bro. But if i am getting u right, do u mean i need to av good money in my account or are u taking about credit in terms of education? Are u also asking y i didn't add my kid in d first place or u're telling dat i should claim i never know d kid was mine until d tym of filling? Plz draw more lyt on these. Thanks and God bless...

adesojiaderemi@:
Imcool congratulations, first on the issue of driver's licence and co;you don't need to stress yourself on that, even if you got all, you still have to pass through the driving test before you can have your your US driver's licence.Concerning CNA;I dont think it is possible to get any training without your SSN,you can still use your Naija passport for one year but SSN is mandatory for training and job placement( you can verify this from American Red cross first). The last question need an advice of a good immigrant lawyer since you didnt include the child and is not over 21 years o.
ok. Thanks. I'll do as u've suggested but as regards d driver's license, i read from a page here that one can use his/her home country's driver's license to temporarily move/drive around in case of job search before getting d driver's license there. How true is this? If it's a fact, don't u think it's good to av it before leaving d shores of nigeria? Pls do u know d procedure of adopting a child and if a child iz adopted by a citizen of america, does this child automatically becomes a citizen too? Thanks.

Hi Adesoji and other successful diversity visa holders. This trend is really a wonderful one and i commend u guys for doing a great work here. To d initiator of this trend, I must say kudos to u. I'll be relocating to Houston Texas wit my wife very soon and we already av our visas wit us. Need you to put me thru on the following issues. 1. I read from previous pages about driver's license, driving records and international driver's permit obtained in nigeria and i don't av any of them but i know how to drive very well. Will this adversely affect me in anyway wen i get to US and will u advise i get them before relocating? 2. As regards Houston Texas, can one go thru the CNA training without first getting d green card and SSN? Is d program/training offered anytime of the year? Just thinking if my wife could go thru d training during the 21 days wait as regards green card issuance in Texas. 3. How best do u think someone who has a five year old baby(not from his wife though) and never included d baby in his case can bring him/her to join him in US and how soon could this be? Thanks in anticipation for your prompt replies.

dammymye: Help me shout a big HALLELUYAH! My brothers and sisters in the house! I came i saw and i conquer with the help of God i had a successful interveiw today at Lagos embassy. Here is the experience!
I got there 5:15 am and started the security checks by 6:30 am. After all the checking and the payment has been made and documents collected (o'level certificate, birth certificate, police report, medicals, 3 passport photographs, E-passport and my university admission information page all originals and photocopies. . I waited few hours for my ticket number to be called! After i was called by this sweet black angel in window 13. I signed my forms, took the oath of truth and finger print was taken. The chatting began.
CO: good morning sir!
ME: good morning ma!
CO: Tell me what you are doing in Nigeria now?
ME: i told her.
CO: interesting!
She then told me my visa has been aproved and to pick it up next week friday at the circled address. And also handed me another sheet telling me that i should pay the immigrant fees here before livin or when i get to US. She then asked another question.
CO: have you been to US before?
ME: i answered her with smile!
CO: thank you
ME: thank you too!
All we did together was just chatting nothing really serious. We were just laughing and smiling at each other! All glory to God Almighty Who took perfect control of everything!
You my family here made it possible. Thanks to you all! I love you all! Success is surely ours IN JESUS NAME! Stay blessed house!
HALLELUYAH! Congrat.

TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Imcool(m): 11:02pm On Feb 12, 2013
ferdimako: Okay.Once you have a higher qualification, the focus shifts from O'level.Am I right?
Somehow right but in any case, let everyone going for interview av their testimonial, may june waec or neco or any other document to show that they went thru sec sch. Who knows, d CO might focus on someone else o'level as each dv lottery interview is always unique and different in some ways to others.

Gentiger: At the International airport for reservation. Oh dear, no route to the US is cheap.
Nyc bro and good luck. I guess u're heading to Texas but whichever state u're heading to, pls let us know ur outcome. I'm planning to book my ticket to Houston Texas anytime from now too.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Imcool(m): 10:46am On Feb 12, 2013
ferdimako: So ur highest qualification educationally is O'level, right?
Nope my highest educational qualification iz HND. U're getting my post wrong, what i mean is this- one of d reasons i didn't present my testimonial is dat my highest level of education iz not o'level but stil i presented my first attempted may june waec certificate to show dat i went thru secondary sch.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Imcool(m): 8:36pm On Feb 11, 2013
look4all: where you asked for your testimonial at the embassy ?
No d window 16 CO never asked of my testimonial and i didn't even go wit it. I'll however advice dat if anyone is presenting a GCE certificate(either waec or neco) most expecially if o'level is highest qualification, the person should also present his/her testimonial. D testimonial is only meant to confirm/prove dat the applicant went thru a secondary education as d dv lottery rule states. In my own case i presented waec Gce(1999) and also presented d certificate of my first attempted waec (may/june 1998) though i didn't perform well in it, i presented it in place of testimonial cuz it has d name of my secondary sch written on it, mind u, i didn't combine two results ooo, the o'level certificate i'm using is my 1999 Gce(9 credits) but i intentionally presented d 1998 may/june waec certificate just to show dat i went thru d walls of secondary sch. So my advice is make sure u present any document be it certificate, testimonial or other documents to show u went to secondary sch. It is believed that anyone even if he/she never went to secondary sch could attempt GCE and pass so prove or show u went thru d four corners of secondary sch. WISH U SUCCESS!

yembe2013: Hey House; What is the best time to be at the embassy if you are scheduled for 11 a.m PLEASE RESPOND
Your question has been rightly addressed by gurus in d house but i feel telling u my experience will be of great help to u and other forumist yet to go for their interview. I and my wife were scheduled for 10am on our interview date but i received a call from d embassy around 5pm on d previous day to my interview date to come as early as 7am and join d immigrant line(thank God we weren't working wit d initial 10am and also dat we were not dat far away from d embassy @ the time of receiving d call. If not, we would av been confused and disturb). We got to d embassy around 6:45am and we were numbers 2 and 3 on d immigrant line. Just 5mins of our arrival, d gate was opened and we're called in. So my advice is dat u should go as early as possible, pls don't work wit ur 11am scheduled tym. It's better to be there early and even wait if need be than to get there late. Try to go early as doing so will help u overcome any unforeseen circumstance. BEST OF LUCK!

Allybert: Hi everyone,

To the glory of the Lord and the prayer of you all, I and my wife had a successful interview some hours ago. The CO at window 13 is indeed an angel! Without much ado, I will just go straight to the interview experience proper. But mind you, my wife was the principal applicant. She played as single before we married last year before the DV result.

Co: good morning
We: good morning ma
CO: Please sign these forms
We: Okay ma - we signed the forms
CO: Am going to take your fingers print
We: Alright ma - ( We did the fingers print)
CO: Do you swear to say nothing but the truth?
We: Absolutely yes
CO: please go and have your sit while I interview your wife.
Me: Alright ma. - (I had to stood a few distance away cos I already lose my sit)
Co: what is the name of your sch?
Wife: Blah blah blah
CO: What course did you study?
Wife: Food sci & tech
CO: Why did you study food sci & tech
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: What year did you finished?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah -
CO: Tell me about your course
Wife: Blah blah blah
CO: No. I don`t want defination. I want full explanation
Wife: Blah blah blah blah- (explaining in details until she asked her to stop)
CO: Tell me about food processing
Wife: Blah blah blah blah
CO: What are perishable food products?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: How can you preserve them?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah - (citing terms and giving examples) Now the CO is typing.
CO: When did you get married?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: Where, when and how did you meet your husband?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: When did he proposed?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: What does your husband do?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: Can you explain what type of business your husband do?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: How much does he earn?
Wife : I really don`t know the exact amount
CO: You mean you don`t know how much your husband earn?
Wife: Yes, because he is not a salary earner. But we are living good. We are okay with what he earns.
CO: Oh! yeah I can really see that. - ( at this stage the interview is becoming very interesting to her and what follows thereafter was more like a chit chat)
CO: What type of wedding did you do?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: DO you have a very big wedding?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: Do you have wedding pictures?
Wife : yes (my wife brought out our photo book and as she was flipping, the CO asked her to keep flipping. She was smiling, then asked wife to stop and pointed to someone in the picture)
CO: Who is that in the picture?
Wife : Blah blah blah blah
CO: Do you have any courtship picture?
Wife : Yes
CO: Can I see? (At this stage she was very busy typing and staring into the computer. She did not bother to check the courtship pictures) She then asked my wife to call me. As I was approaching the window, she said to my wife - give me a minute I want to get some papers.
Wife: Alright ma - Now I am standing beside my wife and she was whispering into my ear. Then the CO returned with two papers and gave our original documents back to us.
CO: MR & MRS blah blah blah, congratulations your visas have been approved. Welcome to America. Go to the circled address to pick up your visas next week Fri. She then explained something to us about how to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee but we werent really paying attention because we were very excited. My wife was just smiling and saying thank you, thank you, thank you ma! The CO was just smiling......

My wife did a very good job and I am very proud of her. The only question I was asked was "Did you swear to say nothing but the truth" Which I answered "Absolutely yes"

Lessons:

* Be prayerful
* Prepare very hard
* When academic question is asked, don`t give definations but explanation and keep explaining until the CO ask you to stop.
* Speak out loud and look straight into the CO`s eyes.
* If married, say things the way they are. Don`t fabricate.
* Make sure you are able to defend whatever qualification you are claiming.
* Another thing I observed from other interview experiences is that, the CO usually start their academic questions from your highest level of education and if you are able to explain very well, they will not bother to ask you questions from your SSCE.

Thank you and God bless you all.
Congratulations to u and ur wifey. U're both welcome to d US OF A

adzovia: are you sure my dear? cause i have put most of my money on a visa gift card and it has been accepted everywhere. online in shops etc....... is just like a debit card good to give out to someone you want to dash money here in the states and also good for people like us who just moved here with no account and no credit to get a credit card. is just like a visa debit card i have used it and i know but if you saying the payment has to be made back in Nigeria or other countries before they come then that is great.
Hi Adzovia, is it until one gets to the US before one can get and also put money into d visa gift card or can it be done in one's home country before departure? Plz shed more light on this and in any of d cases above that is accepted, what's d procedure of obtaining the visa gift card and subsequently putting money into it? Just for d benefit of d ppl who are planning to travel soon. Thanks

Hoston was by port of entry and another great favour I received from God was that I did not spentmore than 10minutes with the immigration. Someone took me to a room where the envelope was collected from me. My finger print was taken and also my picture. I was told that my green card would be send to me and that I should go the nearest social security office to register for my social security number. That was all. Nobody ask for the immunisation sheet and the x ray envelope I give thanks to the Almigthy God for what he had make me to achieve through the contribution of everyone in this forum and I pray that may everyone in this forum continue to receive the undiluted favour of God.I love you all.

Gentiger: @FERDIMAKO...How did you send the tracking command? What did you write and to which site/email address?
I guess it can be tracked. I tracked mine and dat of my wife. I did it thru mail by sending each of our international passport numbers(mind u, only d passport number was used as d subject and d same passport number and no other thing was also used as the body of the mail) to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com. Initially d reply was PICKED UP but wen it was a day to d day i was scheduled to come for the visa, i sent d same e.mail and d reply changed to READY FOR PICK UP. My wife went there on the scheduled day wit the white sheet dat i filled @ d back authorizing her to collect on my behalf and she was able to collect our visas.

chirpywest: That woman is not wicked bro. I got my visa through her but all u need to do is to be real and defend what u claim to be. Plz such statement is wrong!and beside God does not answer such prayer. People should be prepared to defend themselves and all what they claim to be and leave the rest to God's favour! Period
You've said it all... The window 16 CO is not wicked and should not be seen as such... I and my wife got our Visas thru her too and i noticed that she only needs applicants to defend whatever certificates claimed to av acquired and personally i think it's high time nigerians woke up from their inability to defend certificates they claim to av obtained. Happy new month to u all.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Imcool(m): 11:16pm On Jan 25, 2013
Gentiger: I did exactly that. I sent the mail as instructed and got a reply saying 'Picked Up'. But on getting there today they said it's not ready. They even said immigrant visa can't be tracked online. Is GSS document center owned by the US embassy?
Yes it was actually telling me dat too till at a point it changed from PICKED UP to READY FOR PICK UP. Both mine and dat of my wife changed d same time as stated above. I guess it advisable to wait till it say READY FOR PICK UP before u go though i stand to be corrected sha. As per who own GSS, I don't really know much but i feel it just like a post accency like DHL or even our NIPOST too.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Imcool(m): 9:20pm On Jan 25, 2013
Gentiger: It's not quite 30minutes I left the place crest fallen. They said Monday and Thursday were public holidays respectively. Asked me to return Wednesday. Let's hook up on Wednesday there at 10am.
I'll advice anyone going for visa pick up to first confirm d status of his/her visa before going in order to avoid going and not receiving it. U can do so by sending an e.mail to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com. Only type ur international passport number as subject and also as d body of the mail, be sure not to write anything else other than d passport number and u'll receive an automatic/instant reply telling you whether ur documents are ready for pick up. That was what i did till i went to collect my visa. U can get more info about this on www.ustraveldocs.com... Best of luck to u all... SHALOM!
