Happy Birthday to Jayden @Sansa143

My baby sweats alot and it's becoming alarming. Even when the weather is cold, I still have to take off her clothes cos she wets the bed with sweat. pls who else has experienced this cos it's scary now

Same with my second twin. Initially i thought it was from the cream he uses which mostly leads to skin rashes, had to change the cream but he still sweats so i let it be but we go mostly on light clothings or no clothes at all when home.

@booqee, we got the Meningococcal conjugate almost for free in my hospital, i think we only paid N500 or so(will confirm once i get back home), however sometime in 2015 the same MC goes for 7.5k in my hospital but i didn't give my ds then but now the matron made me understand that it's now free and administered it even without requesting for it sef.

Exactly mama Ejima, I kept telling myself since it's free I don't mind waiting till 7pm and that's how I saved 18k.
I wonder why they have it only in shomolu LGA. My regards to your boys.

It was a timely intervention for us considering that we had already spent 18k on the first dose so we were happy to save the next 18k....it's not an easy something but God's got us. My matron told me it's only available is somolu LGA for now. Thanks

Seriously I don't know if ambode is same as oloja, I was actually going to ambode health center but ended up at oloja cos I used taxify and we were using google map to look for ambode health center, while looking out for ambode I just saw a small sign post of oloja health center and I told driver to go there.

It's located on akinsola street off sungas street in bariga I can't give a better description cos I no know road, I used taxify to and fro.

It's free except for #20 I paid for the news paper they used in checking weight.

I went on a Tuesday. Try to go before 9 so they answer you immediately they start, be prepared o cos they waste as per government workers now. I was no 19 yet I left there around 12pm.

Exactly, that's the same phc i went to.....chai i saw something that day with their delays. We left around 2pm that day, i was no 56 or so.......it wasn't a funny experience sha but the good thing is that we got what we went there for at no cost.

Good day mamas. Let me rant.

Have had it up to my throat.. Am I the only one going through post partum depression? Why are in-laws so opinionated... Why?! Why?!! Things are not the same..not jealous but everyone that calls or comes around asks only about baby.. They be like "how's your baby?" , "how's baby doing?", " is baby sleeping?", "has the baby taken his bath?"(forgetting its just me doing everything. Mother couldn't stay bcus of her business,
so I learnt what she taught and took from there. Sigh ),. In-laws comes around everyday bcus they live close by.. They comes to see if baby is bathed early and not late forgetting I'll need to sleep that morning bcus baby disturbs every night. So I used early mornings to sleep and get up like 8 to do chores and eat before bathing baby by 10am. But in-laws as always judgmental as they are would come earlier to see if I have and if I havnt they begin to judge their heads. Its not their fault. How can one get over such. Hubby goes to work early in the mornings of which I have to prepare his lunch for him before going back to bed. Can't continue, so much to talk..... I'm just wondering if am the only one? Any ways baby would be 3months soon and he'll be going to church this Sunday.. Thank God! Its been one hell of a three months.. From going through hot water section after delivery, heat, sleeping without fan and light bcus of baby...(I almost died.. If that's the definition of omugwo I'm never doing again). In all I Thank God for myself, my baby and hubby.

Besides all that, what is the effect of taking carbonated drinks as a breastfeeding mother to her baby?

Sorry dear, i can relate....please don't let inlaws insensitivity get to you at all. Infact, it would have been better they don't come at all than to come and be looking out for one fault or another.Try and ignore them, sleep and pretend you never heard their knock....you can't come & kill yourself for anyone o

Thanks queensnow and imurboss my children finally got the rota immunisation at oloja health center shomolu yesterday, your response to my frequent questions really helped.

Mamas please since DS spat out the vaccine though not all will it still work? The nurse was just shouting (one of the reasons why I don't like health centers) and telling me I wasted their money like it's hers I felt really bad.
Then since yesterday their poo has been smelling sour kind of and it's more frequent, could it be the vaccine that caused it?

Motherhood is one tedious job I swear.

You're welcome sis,i'm glad i could be of help. Don't mind all thsee govt workers, some of them can be so annoying...pls don't let her bad mouth get to you jare. As for the vaccine i think it will still work since he didn't spit out all. Yes the rota causes the sour poo but it will only last for a little while..........Motherhood is a tough job....God will help us all

thank you wonderful mum for taking out time to reply. the Holy Spirit told me today after writing the post about my son that I should stop complaining and give thanks on his behave. brief introduction about this son of mine. he was born via elective cs by 38weeks dot. when I was opened up he didn't come out. two doctors had to push my tummy down like trying to deliver placenta before he was able to stick out his neck. when he did, all the medical team were shouting blood of Jesus.he had cord round his neck three times and the fourth time was knotted. after the cord was cut off and he was separated from me. he didn't cry. it took up to 10mins for him to bed resuscitated.he weighed 3kg but was very skinny like a premature child. his fontanelle was sunken and he was so dehydrated and looking scrary with a triangle face. we were advised to add formula.so far as at 10 weeks immunization he weighed 5.5kg.at 6weeks he weighed 4.5kg.the doctor that took his delivery told me that if he had stayed to 39 weeks I wouldn't have had him alive. I told God I'm sorry for not being grateful for sparing his life rather selfish to complain about his size. through it all I've learnt to bed thankful from today. sorry for this long epistle.make unable join me thank God.

Thank God for sparing his life....in everything we must give thanks. He may not be as chubby as you want him to be but surely he's growing and hitting his milestones. That's enough to be grateful

Is the oloja phc different from the one they call ambode health center?( I thought it was the same) If yes pls kindly post descriptions. Do you have an idea if it's still Tuesdays for the rota? Don't mind my questions pls. thanks

Not coming from osodi direct but I will surely pass through osodi when going.

Thanks a lot.

Sorry i'm just answering. No, the Oloja phc is quite different from ambode phc. Follow queensow description to get to the ambode phc, i feel that one will be straightforward and easy to locate for you. You should be able to get the vaccination on a tuesday. Please is oloja health center different from shomolu health center?

On which day of the week do they give the vaccine (rotavirus) so I can know when to take my children

Finally, will they request for anything or we just tell them we came for rotavirus vaccine.
Sorry to bother you with my endless questions.

Cc: queensnow

They are different but maybe same LG area. I think they give on mondays,Tuesdays & Thursdays. We went there on a Thursday.

You go with your immunization card and some change, I think #50 or so for newspaper that will be spread in the scale for weight measurement. Your questions are not too much, we're all here to help out

Good day mama's pls I want to ask, my baby was born 14th feb and 6 weeks after is supposed to be 28th March, he was given his first set of vaccines on 17th at the hospital and the nurse wrote on the card that his next vaccination appointment is 4th April (which is 7 weeks) I didnt notice till after I got home. Although the nurses said we can take the vaccines at any health center close to us after the specified age not before.

I did ask my mum she said maybe it was an error in dates but I can take him when he is 6weeks or after depending on which day their immunization falls and tell them he is already 6 weeks.

What do you think pls ( sorry my question sounds somehow)

Secondly, please I need description to ambode health center in shomolu, I read they are giving rota for free. I don't know that area well. Pls I need description from Oshodi and any other info will be appreciated. Cc queensnow, imurboss, All Sabi mamas.

Thank you.

It's Ok to get your next vaccination at 7wks as they usually give after the age and not before, we also took our 6wks vaccination where we were already 7wks so No fear. As per the health centre in somolu, from oshodi you can join a bus going to yaba then alight at palmgroove. Use the pedestrian bridge and cross to the other side, then from there you can take bike or keke to the place/ask for directions though we used Oloja phc but the one in somolu will be easier for you since you're coming from oshodi.

Mamas come to my aid as regards this burping issue o, my children are 5 weeks old and burpingvthrm is so difficult cos it takes time before they belch which was not so before, now I get tired of running their back that I just give up in-between cos of the stress of caring for two children.

Again they have been so restless since yesterday that they don't get any meaningful sleep don't know the cause of this bit I've checked everything including temperature which seems ok, what could be wrong?

imurboss I really envy you o, so now now your children are 6 months weldone ma, caring for twins is not a joke at all you need to tell me how you care for 4 children and still remain strong.

As for the burping,it's quite tiring but you have to keep doing what you can do and sometimes they burp unknown to you, they may burp silently without you knowing while you will still be waiting for them to make a loud burping sound, for me if i put them on my shoulder for like 15-20mins without hearing the sound i will just put them down. The major thing is not putting them down immediately after feeding and they're fine.

About the restlessness, the weather is hot these days. Don't cover them too much, allow some breeze though you may need to cover them once you switch on your fan/ac, they will sleep better. It keeps getting better with time, kpele. The lord is your strenght.

I must be sincere with you,it's not easy at all.....sometimes i fall sick because i have no help but my mum is helping out a little now + dh, it's been God's grace. Recently i had a cracked voice due to shouting for their older ones, infact my voice just dey clear now. Few months back, the older ones will go and be pinching the twins, they pinch them and go into hiding laughing all the way,it was later i noticed some marks on their body and reported to their dad.The kain beating they got that day ehn reset their brain kia kia.....i cannot fit narate everything wey i don see on this journey o. May we all reap the fruits of our labours, amen.

U will mix the tombrown , gnut and crayfish thats if u are using cfish n gnut in water mix till u get a smooth paste tgen place on fire and stir tada!
The ratio of water to to brown depends on the quantity u are making and its texture
I use 3 scoops of formula spoon

Thanks maami grin.......but 3 scoops of formular na im plenty like this, abi you add groundnut.....that means the thing dey swell well well be that o when i was even planning to use tablespoon sef, thanks for the heads up. How to prepare tom brown

I personally prepare my own tombrown this way and i get my result

1. put 2 spoon or as desire in a pot
2. Pour a little water then stir to get a smooth paste.
3. Add more water to make it a little bit watery
4. Put it on fire then stir with (wood stirrer)
5. If you like you may add crayfish.
6. serve with Baby Milk and let it cool down before eating.

@imurboss

At last! Thanks for coming to my aid....i'll try it by weekend. God bless
