Hi good people of Nairaland,

I was suppose to travel on the 22nd of September, 2007 as specified in my first and initial application form for 6 months tourist visa, but couldn't make it not until 17th November, 2007 as my schedules were very tight then.

Do i need to explain the reason why i couldn't make it on the date specified in my initial application form as am about seeking for a renewal?

I dont think it matters (my opinion) although my experience was with the Canadian embassy, my initial application was because i wanted to spend the christmas there, but I changed my mind and travelled like 3mths later (went for easter instead). I didnt have to explain anything when I'd to reapply. I dont think it's an issue.

I think I can help here, fortunately I asked a solicitor (abi na lawyer) a similar question on Monday (i'm a prospective student so I came for the school's open day/interview) and he said that although the Post Study Work visa under Tier 1 hasn't started yet (It'll replace the IGS around summer) any student currently on the IGS visa can switch to the Post Study Work visa but will only get an extension of a year,this is because the PSW visa is for two years.
I think you friend has nothing worry about.

didnt use an agent, good thing about it is that i can extend it here in the UK, i just applied for the student visa every other thing was in place, my offer was conditional (because i was scheduled for an interview with the school).

My sister, I dey fine. I've finally decided on where to study, the reason I was asking those "people" then was to make an informed decision. But since I came in myself, I've been able to access the schools properly and decide on which one to go for. I still dey around for now, just visiting friends and when I get bored I log on to nairaland (at least "them" say i'm insane).

I've read of something similar before, what the person did was to pay his fees and accomodation in full and he finally got his visa.
