Miyachi:Wow... This is the first legit advice I'm getting on this thread. I appreciate man, I will search for the thread. Thank you |
AllLovingGod:Thanks for the heads-up. Even though I'm not a newbie online. I've been into online marketing for 5 years now and no human born of a woman can scam me. Them never born that person. |
frostguy:Not interested. Thanks |
wittywriter:Thanks for your contribution. But like I said, I don't want to invest in a business. I work remotely already with clients. That's how the money was made in the first place. I want an investment that doesn't require any work from me but just returns. And for all the scammers sending me emails to invest in one thing or the other, or even those asking me to chat them up, una don meet another maga for una mind Abi? Fvck! Nairaland is a lost course. Drop your advice here or don't bother. Thanks |
I've been getting emails from people asking me to invest in their business. Please, this isn't the purpose of this thread. I have a small physical business already and I know the impact of the devaluation of the naira. I want to invest this money in $$. Plus how can I even invest my hard earned money on random people I meet on the internet? Nigeria don good like that? Haa. |
Good day people. This forum has been very instrumental to my growth since I first discovered it in 2013. Quick question here: I have $1,000 I want to invest but I don't know how best to invest this money. I'm thinking US stocks but I don't know if it would be the right investment with guaranteed returns. I would need your ideas and contributions as I wouldn't want to make mistakes. PS: Please don't suggest crypto. I've thrown in over $2,000 into acclaimed potential alt coins but what's left in that portfolio isn't up $400.

The same Rivers and PH that I am in is in a state of war? APC is the most stupid and useless political party in the whole world. So because of the political unrest that the average man on the street even cares less about, the president should declare state of emergency in the whole state? This Okocha man deserves a hard knock on his head. Some of us is even on the media we read news going on. Please kindly disregard. Nothing serious is happening as to warrant a state of emergency. |
Tflex01:You are not being sincere here. Read through the comments and tell me who first began degrading Achebe - whom this thread is for, and comparing him to Soyinka. |
LexngtonSteele:What fools like you fail to understand is that governance is not all about shinny white elephant projects. Governance is firstly about tackling the basics after a proper Needs Impact Assessment of what the people need the most. This is why you criticize Obi who raised HDI of the people and praise Umahi who did the opposite. When Obi came to Anambra the state was riddled with poor education, poor healthcare and lack of basic amenities like roads, pipe water, etc. He worked with the Millennium Development Goals as at then, built tons of rural roads and bridges, and took Anambra from 28th position to 1st in Education. He also won an award for being the best governor to implement the Millennium Development Goals. The boy child barely received basic education in Anambra which he improved. Yet, you call him a failure. For dunderheads like you, he would have been a great governor if he abandoned the basic things the people needed then to embark on white elephant projects which wouldn't have a direct positive impact on the people. Sometimes I wonder if you guys are really educated. Even if you aren't, is common sense also this expensive? The majority of the people he governed said he did well, yet you who isn't from there is trying to tell them who performed better. Many of these governors only built roads in their town and LGA. But Obi touched all areas both those who voted and didn't vote for him. He built all the major interconnecting roads still standing in my town to date. Make una get sense |

Objectivist04:You know him very well. I was shocked when I read the earlier comment from that guy. Ayogu isn't a good man. You can imagine how bad someone would be for his own nephew who was my mate and friend back then in UNN to refuse associating himself with the man despite bearing same surname. He told me this exact story you wrote here. How he did nothing in his constituency and village. The road he constructed stopped at his house. In fact, all he told me corroborates with what you wrote here. He is worse than Ugwuanyi. He got barely 10k votes in that election. May he RIP tho |
Mr. Udoudom why?? Chai. My lecturer back then. I loved the man. I even visited his office when I went to campus some years back. He's a very good lecturer who can break down complex concepts. Very friendly too. He also looked disciplined and religious back then. To the point that a prayer must be made before he commences any lecture. What changed, Mr. David? To the point of even going for a married lady. Or was he always like that? I feel so sad for him as I watch him cry in regret. But it's life and we must face the consequences of our actions. I hope he doesn't take his life cos the shame is too much. |
Svoboda:Enu-Awgbu day 😁 it's always fun. Yes, Awgbu is actually one of the largest towns by size and population in the zone. Where you from? |
ImmaculateJOE:Rivers state as a whole has a more solid infrastructure than Anambra. I visited a remote village and was shocked at the roads I saw, some leading to thick bushes. Anyway, I get your point and I agree Anambra is more urbanized. But we need to work on our infrastructure. We need wide roads with closed drainages. Not the crappy narrow roads with open drainages Soludo has continued to construct. Anambra can do better |
ImmaculateJOE:Anambra has a higher population density and more urbanized than Rivers state due to our small landmass, but to say Awka is more built up than PH sounds funny. It will take Awka decades to get to the current level of PH. What's even the size and population of Awka compared to PH? PH is more populated than Onitsha but Onitsha is more congested. So I agree with your third paragraph. I'm from Anambra based in PH. |
Svoboda:I'm from Awgbu so I get your point. |

Greetings my Nairaland people. This forum and section have been very instrumental to my progress and so I decided to bring this here to ask for your opinions. On Sunday evening, my girlfriend said she was craving sharwama and pleaded I get it for her. I live in a busy area and there's this Sharwama stand directly opposite my house. So I stepped out to get it. I was shocked with the large crowd I saw there. I asked one of the workers there how much it costs and they said 2,500. Quite an increment from the last time at 1,800. So I handed him my card, made payments and he asked me to wait for 10 minutes. Since I lived closeby, I decided to reach my house before returning back. I came back 10 minutes later only to he told my order was given to someone else who was in a haste. After venting my frustration and anger, I sat down to wait to avoid stories. As I sat there, I couldn't but notice the amount of people who trooped to the place. As I received my order and was going home, the whole thoughts filled my head. Is the sharwama business really that profitable? In my whole area there's just this guy here and another down down the road. I had some serious thoughts that night. I started thinking about setting up one early next year and making consultations. But I want to get an idea from anyone in the business here. My location is Port Harcourt. With the current state of the economy, is Sharwama business a good investment? I would like to open a stand in a busy area and possibly start small by employing one worker. I work online and this is my first shot at starting a physical business. Please, I would like to get your opinions on this, especially considering the current Nigerian business climate. Abi I should just continue to save up my funds for Japa? I'm still a young man. Also, let me know of a budget to set up a stand and begin operations. I would appreciate your kind responses.

sacajawea:When we say there's money, we mean the money that flows through the port and the money customs officials make from extortion and criminality. I was working with a Chinese logistics company |
Hezzyluv:I can confirm this. So much money. I also worked in both Tincan and APMT. The day a genuine person takes over and decides to open the books there, hell will be let loose. |
kokorokoman:His opinion holds true for we here in Port Harcourt after what Wike did in the elections. People felt insulted by the level of rigging and that translated to hate and resentment for the man Wike. Do you genuinely think Tinubu won in Rivers? |

Income is not stable as a freelancer. Some months are dried, some other months average, and then good. I work as a freelancer on Upwork. Like this month I've already made about 310k when converted to naira. I hope to make around 500k by month's end God willing. Some months I barely make 80-100k. Some 150-200k. On some bad months, I may get just one gig and make say 40-50k. It takes serious hard work and perseverance to sustain yourself on the platform. I've been into it since 2020 and I'm top-rated on there. |

Brown2012:This has nothing to do with Fulani but an inter-community clash. And we didn't sell any land to Fulani people |
SKYHIGHfx:Same here. Where are you from in Awgbu? |
Sergio101:I'm from Awgbu and reading this online is sad. I called home and I think your own analysis is the closest to reality, not these unknown gunmen talk they are peddling around. God help my hometown. |
PassingShot:Your conscience knows the real winner of the elections. But the stolen mandate will be returned |
Mylove55:Nobody ever doubted Buhari's influence in the North. Only a political neophyte would. You can see from the results of the 2011 elections. As for now, a lot of factors are in play. Tinubu would get votes from the North because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket, but many northerners are disillusioned from Buhari's leadership. They feel he didn't do well for the North and tipped Atiku to replace him. Atiku will win Katsina among other Buhari's strong zones. Then there is Kwankwaso doing the spoiler. He will win APC in Kano with a small margin and do very well in Jigawa and other North-Western states. Then Obi has changed the dynamics down South plus his support from Northern Christians. Let's watch how it all unfolds. Lastly, listen to your conscience and let it guide you. Vote LP, Vote Peter Obi. |
