i agree with the last contributor that this nation is an unserious country where anything goes. If not 'Prof' Ndi Okereke-Oyiuke should be in jail for reaping off this nation on false claims of a non existent Phd and fake story of teaching at Harvard. It beats my imagination that she still repeats obvious falsehood in public. All the so called schools sh said she went to abroad came out with affidavits disowing her. Her claim of working in the New York Stock Exchange have been proved to be a hefty lie. If she did, it would be in her imagination. Its a shame that people who ought to have called her to order rather give her the platform to insult the rest of us. The only teaching she has done was a two year stint at the University of Lagos where she was taught part time for two years with a fake doctorate which the university did not verify. i found it rather amazing that she said she ought to have been paid N500 Million for her one decade stay at the Stock Exchange. What kind of pension is that. She also insults the university system in NIgeria when she claims that she was awarded a full professorship and in that way she compares herself with people like Professor Pat Utomi. The award of a professorship by the UNiversity of NIgeria is the first of its kind in the world, a scandalous abberation to say the least. She never taught anybody there so the basis for the award can only be understood by the university. I am saddened each time she opens her mouth to speak of service-what service and at what cost. Her denial of raising funds for Obama makes me wonder what she thinks the rest of us are. She should give some of us credit, we are not the fools she takes us to be and we are not suffering from collective amnesia as she she imagines. Enough of this nonsense. I think the Panel is a waste of everybody's time and should wind up as its fast turning into the theatre of the absurd. |
so whats your best offer. |

What we are seeing here is an attempt to make Umaru Musa Yaradua a saint and the authors understand human psychology that no one can argue with the a dead man. Yaradua was no saint and all attempts to make him one will fail, i say no more for now. |
apart from employing a few people on very low pay what is the value of the malls to the economy. i believe one of the attraction is that they stock foreign products which is a disservice to the economy of this nation. We are not thinking and that is why that while our industries are closing down churches are growing and taking over the places that used to be occupied by manufacturing concerns and we turn around and ask why our youths are turning to violence. |
This shows how unserious this government is. Imagine the regulation of award of chieftaincy titles against Boko Haram. The FG havent been able to regulate the award of Doctorate degrees in Federal Universities which they fund and control but they want to meddle into village affairs. This is a classical case of chasing rats while the house burns. President Jonathan should be thinking of how he will go to Yobe to negotiate with Boko Haram and stave off the death of thousands of lives in Lagos and Abuja than regulatiing the award of chieftaincy titles in villages all over the country. The suggestion is nonsensical and smarks of insensitivity on the part of goivernment. Jonathan should get cracking on Boko Haram. If government cannot deal with Boko Haram, an internal agressor what happens when an external aggressor attacks the nation's interests. |
where all they serve in restaurants is fried rice and chicken. seriously have you seen eba in any nigerian movie when 90% of nigerians eat eba every day but in the movies its always fried rice and chicken and then ice cream and pop corn. |
This worthy Nigerian has once again shown that he came from a good background and there is nothiing better than a good name. He has given the country a very good name> he didnt complain of his poor pay in returning the money that could change a lot of lives but he also believed that money that can change lives would have to be meade in an honest manner. I believe that if this story gets to the Governor of Lagos State, he would do something to honour this decent Nigerian. I join others in saluting his honesty. |
Ladies and Gentlemen, Please can someone out there tell me how this list affects the price of fuel in NIgeria. |
Going to a wedding in a Keke is no big deal after all some of the cars newly weds ride to curch are either hired or borrowed from family and friends. When i married i was driving a Nissan and my wife's sister has a small BMW but i rode to the church in a frineds Benz while madam rode in a borrowed Jeep. Its better to ride in a keke than in borrowed cars. There is a big lesson here and i wont be suprised if her husband doesnt have a big car but she just decided to come to the wedding in this Keke. |
President Jonathan and his band of misrulers should be ashamed of themselves for sending messages of goodwill to the Senate President who had to be flown to Israel because the National Hospital is not equipped enough to handle common malaria for which he had to be flown abroad. Is it not amazing that the doctors at the Presidential clinic can not handle the ailment. Its a national embarrassment that such a high oficial of government had to be flown abroad for medical attention. Haba, NIgeria. I am not suprised though when monnies that would have been used to develop our health institutions are diverted into private pockets of government officials. Shame |
Let us not forget that we are Africans so this business of informing madaam that he is coming to his elder brother's house is not our way of life. Let us not become more catholic than the pope. The sister in law may have her own problems to behave the way she behaved and it is something that can be ironed out. Dont make a mountain out of it. If you had asked maybe your brother may have given you insight into what isues they are having. If you were on good terms with her you would have chipped in that you would be visiting to spend some time with them. Some people want to be recognized. She may that you were taking her for granted by not informing her of your visit but that is not to say its a rule that you will obtain permission from her. When my wife's people come to the house she tells me that so so and so would be coming. i dont usually expect the person to call and seek my permission. Like i said its not the way of our people. |
Brother mua, there is fire on the mountain. i dont know whether i should tell you to run or stand your ground. One thing is sure wahala. Its like the fly that is perching on the scrotum if you get what i mean. It has to be handled with utmost care otherwise...... i forsee a ...... |
The sister who embarrassed you must be misguided because i cannot for the life of me understand why you have to read the passage from your phone. There is no where in the scriptures that says you must read it from the Bible. Books are now on iphones and ipads, is the sister going to prevent me from reading Merchant of Venice from my ipad. I have stopped going to church with an ipad as some people might feel i am showing off even when i didnt buy it but it was given to me by my boss. Next time tell the sister there is nothing wrong with reading the Bible from your phone. |
This happens for lots of reasons and its mainly envy. The sibings who are not successfull would blame the successful one for their plight/ They may also feel that he is not sharing the booty of his wealth with them. Some people are plain wicked that even when the successful one shares with them they would still hate him/her. Remember ths story of Joseph in the Bible. Such thing happens and it beats my imagination. |
Nairalanders can be a funny lot and if you think you will get genuine advice here you do so at your risk. i believe you know what ir right and you should go ahead and do it. it appears you are merely seeking an endorsement for the action you know you will take. If its courage that you need, i decree that you have it. Go ahead and shame the devil |
The word impossibility is non existent in NIgeria. The SEC lady might be right or may not be right but it does not matter. The Speaker should disband the Panel. Remember when an attempt was made to impeach the former Speaker Ghali N'abba and bags of money emerged on the floor of the house and the allegation was that the President had deployed the money to bribe members to remove the Speaker. That ended the impeachment and until today the truth of who brought the money has not been told. Maybe when he writes his memoirs he will tell the truth, i mean N'abba. Mrs Oteh had dealt a strong blow to the commitee and whatever they say now has been tainted with the accusation of bribe. The woman didnt say they asked for the money personally but to defray the cost of the panel sitting which would have made the investigation merely cosmetic. Remember also when Mrs Iyabo shared money to her commitee members given by an agency that was under investigation. Remember that nothing came out of the sleazy accusation ans she served out her term in the Senate. if you ask me i will say away with the House Panel. |
I AM REALLY SAD AT THIS TALE AND PRAY THE ALMIGHTY TO HEAL YOU COMPLETELY WITHOUT A SCAR. VENGEANCE IS MINE SAYS THE LORD AND IF YOU BELIEVE IN GOD I WILL ASK YOU TO LEAVE THIS MATTER TO HIM. HE ALONE CAN DEAL WITH THIS MATTER IN A MATTER THAT WILL SATISFY YOU. THERE WILL BE NO BENEFIT IN NAMING AND SHAMING THE GUY. MANY WILL URGE YOU TO TAKE THE ROUTE BUT THEN ASK YOURSELF- WHAT WILL THIS BENEFIT YOU, WILL IT BRING THE HEALING THAT YOU NEED. THINK AGAIN MY SISTER AND GOD BLESS. |
I dont know what MTN has to do with the loss of Oyinlola and the PDP in Osun State. Truth be told, the ex soldier lost because of his misgovernance. If he treated the people right, they would have re-elected him. Dragging the Telco into the case is to me in bad taste. I dont know why Nigerians find it difficult to accept defeat. its only in NIgeria that it said at the death of a ninety year man that the enemies had done their worst as if they expected him to live forever. Even Metusellah died at some point. It will be interesting to see the evidence they would produce to prove their case against MTN> They should remember that the company is technology based and systems wont lie the way politicians will. Imagine the wickedness of asking that the operating licence be seized with all the implications of job loss. How many jobs did Oyinlola create in his years as a military administrator and as an elected Governor. Rather than preparing to run for Senate if he cannot sit at home and watch events from the sidelines he is seeking relevance by disturbing everybody with a case he knows is bad abinitio |
i will not stop sayiny it that lamido sanusi is a disaster to nigeria and all these senseless sack of people is as a result of his terrible policies. imagine that some people will by the end of today be jobless and this is happening by mindless bank executives. what a shame. there is no process in the way people are being sacked. when all the people are sacked who will man the branches of oceanic bank nationwide. my heart goes to all the staff some of who have spent the better part of their lives serving the bank. what a way to pay them back. its a big shame. our leaders have once again failed us by allowing a man like sanusi head such a sensitive institution like the central bank of nigeria. |
I AM A FAN OF THE GOVERNOR BUT I DONT THINK THE WAY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE OF RELOCATING THE STATE UNIVERSITY IS BY ESTABLISHING THREE UNIVERSITIES. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM OF THE STATE IS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MORE UNIVERSITIES. A UNIVERSITY IS NOT A SECONDARY SCHOOL. HE SHOULD RETHINK THIS ESPECIALLY WITH REGARDS TO FUNDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW UNIVERSITY. HE HAS TOO MANY THINGS AND SHOULD TAKE THINGS EASY. THE RELOCATION OF THE UNIVERSITY TO HIS VILLAGE IS EVEN UNNECESSARY NOW AS THE MONEY TO BUILD A NEW CAMPUS SHOULD BE USED FOR BETTER THINGS. THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES BEGGING ATTENTION IN IMO STATE AND THE GOVERNOR SHOULD FACE THEM SQUARELY. NOTHING SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DISTRACT HIM FROM ACTUALIZING HIS GOOD INTENTIONS FOR THE STATE. |
senate?, what senate. we dont have a senate worthy of the name. we have a bunch of hungry people feeding fat on the collective patrimony and telling the rest of us to go to hell. we didnt vote for the characters sitting in what is supposed to be a hallowed law making cha,ber but what do we have. a bunch of people sitting in committees and coming up with meaningless proposals that end up in the dustbin. the idea of a national assembly is a huge joke and the earlier we realize the better. its a drain pipe on the poor national economy. what we should have is a senate where members will be allowances for sitting to do serious legislative work not a place where people spend little time doing nothing but collecting heavy emoluments. its an insult to the spirit of democracy. with a senate like we have this country will go no where. such a gang of people would nver support any national conference which makes nonsense of their continued existence hence they will never suport the idea of a national conference. if they are not there some of them would be champions of a national conference to discuss the continued existence of nigeria as a nation. |
WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH THE PRICE OF YAM IN ABAKILIKI MARKET. WE ARE CONTENDING WITH SERIOUS ISSUES LIKE WHETHER WE SHOULD HOLD A NATIONAL CONFERENCE OR NOT AND SOME PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT TUFACE PROPOSING TO ONE OF HIS NUMEROUS GIRLFRIENDS. GUYS LETS FACE SERIOUS ISSUES AND ALLOW TUFACE SORT OUT HIS DOMESTIC ISSUES. I AM NOT SURE HIS MARITAL STATUS AFECTS HIS MUSIC ANYWAY |
i admire governor rochas and his guts. i want to believe that he has done his calculations well and can pull this off. if he does there would be no governor like him in the annals of the state. he will beat de sam in the minds of imo people. he has in a short time done what the former governor could not do in four years. just visit and see massive road construction in the state. i wish him well and pray god to keep him to do more for the good people of imo. |
NOTHING JUSTIFIES THE CLOSURE OF STREETS OR ROADS EXCEPT WITH THE PERMISSION OF COUNCIL AUTHORITIES AND FOR A SHORT PERIOD. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT INCONVENINECE OTHERS ON ACCOUNT OF CELEBRATING ONE THING OR THE OTHER. ITS NAUSEATING THE WAY I HAVE SEEN IT DONE IN NIGERIA. THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE WAS SAID TO HAVE SHUT DOWN WARRI WHEN HIS DAUGHTER GOT MARRIED AND DR UDUAGHAN IS AN EDUCATED MAN WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER BUT HE ALLOWED IT ALL THE SAME. IT HAS TO DO WITH THE EGO OF SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO SHOW THE EXTENT OF THEIR ARRIVAL EITHER IN MAKING MONEY OR ACQUIRIING POWER. IF YOU ASK ME THIS SHOULD STOP. |
I AM WILLING TO GIVE THE NEW IGP THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT THAT HE WILL WALK THE TALK. ITS HIGH TIME SOMEONE TOLD THE POLICE THE HOME TRUTH AND MR ABUBAKAR HAS TAKEN THE BULL BY THE HORN. HE NEEDS OUR UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORT TO CLEAN UP THE POLICE AS THE ALTERNATIVE IS ANARCHY. PREVIOUS IGP'S HAVE SAID SOMETHING SIMILAR SO LETS WAIT AND SEE WHETHER THERE WILL BE A DIFERENCE. I WISH HIM THE BEST OF LUCK |
WHICH NIGERIAN LAW ALLOWS THE GOVERNOR OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA TO DONATE MONIES TO VICTIMS OF ANY DISASTER AS MALLAM SANUSI DID TO THE VICTIMS OF THE BOKO HARAM ATTACK IN KANO STATE. WHEN PROFESOR CHUKWUMA SOLUDO WAS GOVERNOR I DIDNT READ OF HIS MAKING DONATION OF ANY KIND TO ANY CAUSE. MAYBE SANUSI THINKS HE IS A GOVERNOR OF A STATE LIKE BAYELSA AND CAN DOLE OUT MONEY WHEN IT CATCHES HIS FANCY. THE CBN SHOULD EXPLAIN WHETHER THE MONEY DONATED TO THE VICTIMS IN KANO AME FROM THE BANK OR SANUSI'S PERSONAL MONEY. I DIDNT ALSO READ OF SANUSI FILING HIS STATEMENT OF MEANS BEFORE ASSUMING OFFIE AS CBN GOVERNOR AS HIS BROTHER GOVERNORS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE SOME EXPLANATIONS HERE AND FAST TOO BEFORE WE ASK THE HOUSE OF REPS TO INTERVENE. |
