With the rate of insecurity in the country ,how do you guys feel comfortable moving strangers around . Me I would be sacred if I show at PU and 3 hefty guys are my riders , I won't go on that trip unless they would allow me search them before they enter my car . How do you guys build that confidence?[\b]

The risk comes with the job, that's why we use our discretion especially at night. But then again, how do those interstate drivers feel comfortable when moving 15 or more complete strangers to their destination? You get the point now?

The permit must match the name on the document. So if already registered and you do a change of ownership, you must apply for a new tint permit which I doubt they still issue.

So the options are:

1. If the owner allows the use of the plates, then continue using it like that. You can still register it on Uber/Bolt.

2. If you are doing a change of owner (new plates), remove the tint.

But I doubt they still issue it. If they do, it would be more expensive.

Tinted permit..
Pearl1910:
E Permit and Tint Permit

Don't know what u mean by E Permit.

Tint Permit on the other hand must correspond with name on car licence documents. So if u r doing change of ownership u must do ur own tint permit in the new name or remove the tint.

Modified: if the seller left the plates for u then it's not compulsory u change the documents. Just keep renewing and use for Uber/bolt
This answers your question then...

Ilaje road is in Bariga too. The Rider obviously didn't know where the address is so can't be too sure it is definitely on the Island.
I told her that too and we checked and confirmed it. But the address is "No. 10 Ilaje road, Ajah". So that rules out the mainland.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by InfinityEstates: 2:33pm On Jul 09, 2021
So this morning I picked up a lady. I asked her where she was headed and she said she put it on the map that's it's 'No. 10 Ilaje road'. In my head, 'Ilaje road' for this Ajah? The only road I know at Ilaje is Mobil road.

So it turned out that she was a pension officer and she was trying to verify the address of a pensioner. She said the man is/was a police officer and she had been calling but the number didn't go through. She was suspecting the man was late or something.

Bottom line, we couldn't find the address and she went back. Probably when the man filled the form, he lived around Ilaje, and he just put the 'No. 10' to make it look more 'address-like'. I'll probably never know how that address came to be, but that gave me a picture of what some pensioners might be going through. No address to locate them, hence no pension. Quite sad.

I experienced one thing yestaday and I really don't know how to attend to it.... this is not the first time I put smile on an aggressive rider but the one of yesterday turned the other way....I picked a rider at de heavens hotel at agungi going to surulere, I think she was raped or something because she was crying and lamenting...I tried to put a smile on her ugly face by doing my comedical thing...she was laughing at first and later ask me to shut my mouth....I tried calming her down but the next thing I heard was a very thick SLAP though she later apologize....she asked me to come into her house and take some water to show her that I have accepted her apologies....what do you expect of me as a driver....thanks
Bros, no vex o, it's like you like using your riders for comedy audition.

Anyways, quick questions:
1. Was she initially aggressive or she was very sad? Because if she was aggressive, you (I'll) have no business starting the trip.

2. Was she sitting at the front or behind? If behind, was she directly behind you or on the other end? This one is just to determine the velocity and weight of the slap.

3. Did the slap really touch you? Because you said you heard "a very thick slap". If it touched you, was it painful?

4. Did you forgive her for the slap? If yes, did you enter her house to "drink water"?

5. If the answer to 4 is YES, how did the "water" taste?

And oh, to your question "What do you expect of me as a driver?" Personally, I expect you to mind your business.

When driving, my main aim is to make money. So if you come into my car, and I notice you're crying, this is how the conversation would most likely go:

Me: Good morning.

Rider: (Comes into the car and begins sobbing, not responding to the greeting of the driver)

Me: Are you ok?

Rider: (No response or nods head, still sobbing)

Me: Can I start the trip?

Rider: (Nods)

Once I start that trip, you'll have all the time in the world to sob your heart out till we get to the destination.

Like I said, this is my personality and that's what I'll do.

And oh, I COME IN PEACE. If you come for me, you are on your own.

How do you guys cope with the smell abi na pungent odour coming from riders. Some na mouth odour (and they wouldn't stop talking), some body odour, some just finished taking weed, some wack perfumes that would want to make you puke. Na God dey help person sha.

Then there's this entitlement mentality that some would have, which you'll think you are used to, but then you'll just see someone display a new one that would make you just shake your head.

So last night I picked up a guy from the mall. He bought half bag of rice and some other things sha. Got to his estate and after going through bad roads he pointed at his gate that I should honk. In my mind I was like hope this wère doesn't expect me to drive in o (e no dey hard dem). I just parked in front of the gate, honked and ended the trip. He was like oga you have to enter, I cannot carry that bag of rice. In my mind, see this guy o, because of 25kg rice wey you buyhuh I just told him I don't drive into compounds in the night. As I looked through the rear view mirror, if you see eye wey this guy look me ehn, I just smiled in my head. I know last last na rating no suffer am. But then again, what goes down must surely go up.

Guys lets be careful out there..

Just saw on instablog....2 riders on bolt almost killed their driver. One sat at the back and one at the front....na from back the rider use rope tie the driver neck, after much struggle and disfiguring of the drivers face he sha managed to escape but the two riders zoomed off with his car.... All happened in PH last night..

I pray God's protection on us always....I don't work late into the night though...but anything wey go make me pick rider for late night....if it's two guys I am canceling immediately. And if na just a guy, if u are too big to sit beside me, you will have to order another ride...infact for me o going forward any late night trip, I won't pick more than a passenger except the other riders are kids.

God protection on us always...let's be wise and vigilant
Hmmm... Na God dey protect us o. That reminds me of last week Friday. By 10pm I was looking for 1 trip to complete bonus. Me that I was looking for short trip make I complete go my house, trips were coming in but with long pick-up. Finally a trip came in at Abraham Adesanya with a female name to Mayfair Gardens. Immediately I got a call, male voice said he was going to Mayfair. My mind was like just blow go, road free.

When they finally came, I saw some rough looking guys, for my mind, I don enter this night. First person entered, second person, third person... For my mind, ehnhuh

I immediately told them that I can't carry 4people. "Ah, Bros abeg us na." I say I no fit carry 4 persons. They came down and I was waiting for time to run out so that I'll cancel (I no fit let them spoil my bonus na). Some seconds later, one of them came back and asked if I can carry 2persons. cheesy Baba, I no dey go again. God forbid. No be me them go use do headline.

Still beats my imagination why drivers will allow riders change destination or keep you waiting for stops. It is called cheating the system. I no dey do am o. Else, we end the trip at the first stop
It's not cheating the system. It's cheating the driver. The system actually allows it that's why they are able to do it. If there was no change destination feature, then you'll have no choice but to end the ride.

Now though, a rider can add stops when requesting for a ride. Then after you end the first ride, the waiting period (and subsequent Paid Waiting period) starts. Still it cheats the driver because the base fare wouldn't be included in the calculation.

Bottom line, riders know they have the 'right' to change destination(s), so it's just left to the driver to use his/her discretion in determining if they'll wait or not. For me, if the trip is not on surge and I figure you'll definitely spend more than 10mins, I no dey wait.

People like this guy are ones who waste your time and ask you to keep app running thinking you're earning better or offering you an advantage. Just see his reply to someone who was trying to orientate him.
Me, I wouldn't make any stop for more than 10mins. When riders say "but the time is reading na" (that's what they mostly say), I clearly tell them that Bolt charges N11/min so I'll rather not wait. If I'm to wait, you're paying extra.

Very true. I don't go to unfamiliar places. Once I sense it's a troubled spot, I let the trip ring out.

For instance, I don't do Lagos island( Eko, balogun, idumota, oke arin n Co). So many pitfalls there, the female riders that want to drop by UBA, or on marina road n still want to pay by transfer.
Once I see Lagos Island on an incoming trip, I just remember how IFHSR's guy saved me twice. I don't go near that zone anymore, except of course it's on a Sunday and it's on ×1.9. I saw it last Sunday and I couldn't resist. cheesy cheesy

Bros, you mean bolt didn’t compensate you ?
Usually they will pay half of the money and block users account.

There was this rude lady who was shouting on his papa will on trip, she made transfer and said gone, jumped out, saying I’m late for meeting. No problem after 1hr I texted her she said send Acct number again the money was reversed, I did immediately, called her twice she ignored.
I was very happy to block her account for being rude not cos of d 1k.
They didn't compensate. Maybe because I was compensated for a trip earlier in the week. But I wasn't really after the compensation. I needed her to feel what she felt.

Come sharply

We dey wait for gist ooo
So I picked up this girl. We had good rapport. After trip ended, as usual, "Please your account details". I gave it to her. Usually I ask if the rider has been debited, but in this case I saw when she did it and she said it was successful. Usually after transfer been successful, I ask the rider if I can call if I don't get it, but in this case I no ask.

Maybe because we were gisting sha and I felt it's just N1,100. She no go wan fall her hand because of N1,100. So I left.

Usually, after every transfer, I get credited in less than 5mins. If the person is sending from Access Bank it's immediate. 10mins I never see alert. 20mins I never see. I called her and she said she would check and call me back.

She didn't call. I called her 30mins later and she said that she's not been sent the debit alert yet but the money has left her account.

Two hours later I called her and she said I should send my account number. I did. An hour later, I called her and realized I was blocked. Tried calling several times, same thing.

I later sent a text requesting for the transfer. She said ok. I waited two more hours and called. Number busy. I tried sending a text it didn't go through. I then sent a message to Bolt.

About an hour later I was still on a trip when I saw a pop-up that I had a message from support. I couldn't read the message. Some minutes later she called that why would I report her account. That is it N1,100 that she cannot pay bla bla bla. I said "but you blocked me". She said she put her phone on "Do Not Disturb". I should unblock her account. I say no be me block you o, na Bolt. She my money, I'll message them to unblock you. She said I have to unblock her before she pays. I said you dey whyne yourself.

Till now, I never see money. At least e go give her sense and she wouldn't try that rubbish with someone else.
