So sorry for your ordeal bro. When you come back online, note the following tips. We've shared it before, but for your sake lemme type again.

Please note that this works for me and my least rating was 4.74. Present rating is 4.98. Activity 96%.

1. Always ACCEPT ALL TRIPS even when you don't intend going on the trip due to distance or pick-up location or destination. Just accept. If you don't intend going, and the rider refused to cancel, just slide arrive and wait till it starts reading PAID WAITING. It's usually 5mins. But someone said it's 3mins. Me, I cancel when paid waiting starts. And you should be good.

2. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR CAR CLEAN. After every ride, tilt your head towards the back seat to see if the previous rider littered or dropped anything. If you have to park to dust your carpet for sand or litter and dust your seats, please do it. The 60secs you spend in cleaning your car would pay in the long run. For a little extra, have a can of a nice air freshener in your car which you can spray occasionally to keep your car smelling fresh, that's if you don't have those block air fresheners.

3. Keep your car in good condition. AC cooling, suspension noice etc should be in check.

4. Be polite. The Good morning or afternoon or evening you greet a rider when he/she enters your car would not kill you. You don't need to wait for them to greet you when they enter your car. Have a good day (MORNING) or Enjoy the rest of your day (AFTERNOON - EVENING) or Have a good night (NIGHT) are good ways to part ways with your rider. You don't need to ask them to rate you.

5. DON'T FIGHT WITH YOUR RIDER. This one can't be overemphasized enough. Truth is, there are times a rider would piss you off. Just take it in good stride. No rider would go with you to your house, so worst case scenario, you'll spend a couple of hours with them. Just tolerate them.

6. Abeg these ones don do. Follow these ones and you should be fine.

Still related to over heating symptoms. Let ur mech check d integrity of the top cylinder gasket, water pump, thermostat etc. Also ur engine oil, what type do u use, it may be due for change.
Better still scan the car first so you know what exactly to touch.

Noted bro. For engine oil, I use the Mobil semi-synthetic 5w30 and I just serviced two weeks ago. I think it might be the gasket. Another motor wahala again... sad sad sad

its already ending in tears my brother...

i changed the passenger side bearing today for 5k...
n m still hearing the noise..
mechanic says it from the drivers side...

so now m planning to just close eye n buy the complete for the drivers side...

but my problem is how Long will it actually last?...
cus they are saying only the bearing should last like 6 months

That 5K bearing you bought MIGHT be the Chinko bearing. Same thing happened to me early last year. I bought the cheap one, it didn't last up to 2weeks. I bought it for 4K then. I had to buy the 'original' one for 8K (then o, it could be more expensive now). I've forgotten the name. Since then, I've had no issues.

Meanwhile, guys please has anyone experienced and resolved this kind of issue? Anytime I'm in STATIC TRAFFIC for long (say 30mins or thereabout) and in the sun and AC is on, my car begins to pulse. After a while, if the traffic is still static, it jerks (not violently, just slightly). If the traffic still continues, it could jerk and go off. If I start the car, it starts normally and it continues the pulse-jerk sequence.

The first time I noticed it, the engine was overheating (from the dashboard indicator). I've since changed the radiator. Now when it happens, the needle is usually in the normal position (middle).

Any ideas?

Got this trip, called the small girl(I believe) and the next thing I heard, "You're my driver right"?. Kind of just came off the wrong way so I told her to cancel.

I know we are drivers but do you really have to rub it in? grin

Similar experience with, "Hello, where are you?" immediately you pick up the call.

This hustle ehn, the things we tolerate. One day one day, God will provide a better hustle.

Did sometin stupid on Thursday, don't know why but I guess I'm just cool like that. Got a trip from mainland to Balogun market, rider asked me to make some few stops and I made her understand she will add sometin to it, which she oblige. 2nd stop was for her to buy food, she ask for 500, I reluctantly gave her due to its the second time I'm picking her on Indriver. 3rd stop she needs to get some medication and ask me to give her all d money she saw while giving her 500, i looked her with straight eyes, she said don't worry, you will get it back, broda wey mum, I gave her. On approaching destination, she said if I can wait to take her to chevron, looking at the way everything is dull these days, I gave it a second tot, ask her to b honest with me on how long she intend to stat in d market, she said 40 min max, just to pick and leave. Fair enough, I can take 40 mins rest and by 11am I'll know I've done like 65000... this girl spent the whole day in the market, tears almost roll down my cheeks, called her, she won't pick or pick and plead for 10 mins more till after 3pm. Different tots were just playing in my head, if I should go with her bags and stuffs in the car, but I settled for squeezin her to drain. Here she came with ways of trying to make me smile "My husband! My husband!! U don vex", truly I was so swell with bone face, I just crack a smile and subtly tell her sha know say ur money nah 15k, she said nah 10k I budget ooo with your 4k... I looked at her like, you dey carry me play ni, 9am to 3pm and now I'll get to ur place around 4, abeg stop that kind play, wetin b 6k? while in my mind I've built 10k as forgiving fare, but still pushing initial gra gra on 15k plus my 4k to make it 19k. She was just saying she has never entered a cab of 15k in her life not even 10k, she will never try such in her life, told her you don enter this one. We got to chevron, time to pay, oga wetin u talk? Make we no drag this matter too long, just give me 12k plus my 4k making 16k, on a normal day, nah 20k I deh collect for this kind waka, she oblige and plead that she only have 8k and she will balance 8k the next day, what can a man do? Took the money. On my way out, she plead, please I don't have data, can u help me with 500, I'll add it, what can a man do? I gave her. Afer some mins in far away Freedom way, a call entered, please I don't have money for food, can't even recharge my phone, help me with 2k, I'll send everything. I pulled over and think thro what can a man do? abi which kind trip I come carry today, but I felt it a small world, do good anyway, so I sent her 2k. Now she's owning 10500 and thro out yesterday she just kept it as promise and try to make me see she's broke, somehow I can relate and didn't sweat her, I didn't even call her today, just saw 10k alert from her. Now I'm thinking how to collect my balance of 500 naira from her

Davit I need ur help ooo... don't leave a brother in time like this, make I drop her number?

cheesy cheesy cheesy

Your gist just dey make me laugh. Just forget that one, e don go be that.

Last week, I picked up a girl at Milverton Estate, she was going to pick up her mum at GIG. On our way there was a little bit of traffic and the mum was already getting impatient. Meanwhile this was supposed to be a return trip. This girl and her mum had a back and forth on the phone, the girl was shouting at her mum that she's coming and all that.

Las las she got angry and told me to make a u-turn at VGC. Apparently the mum had booked a ride to take her home. On our the mum called and told her to wait so she asked me to stop. We were around Eleganza by then. The mum came and the girl said she was going to join her mum's ride so I should end the trip. Trip ended at N1,400.

"Oga please o, I'm only with 1K. I even came out with it to buy card. I was supposed to transfer to you but bla bla bla... Please take the 1K when I get home, I'll transfer 5H to you. Please text your account number to me."

Me I was already angry as I would have to go through traffic again. I collected 1K and she left.

When I got home I texted her my account number. The next morning I called her since I didn't get anything. She didn't pick. I called her several times later she didn't pick. She later picked when I called with another number and when she finally knew who I was, she was like, "Oga, I WILL SEND YOU YOUR N400. My network has been bad since yesterday".

It was not what she said but how she said it. She said it with this condescending tone like Is it because of common N400 that you're disturbing me?

I just ended the call and that was the end of it.

Some stupid immature adult are so broke to rent a hotel so they think driver's cars are a good one to use. That was how one told me to park and give them 1min outta my car, I was like "you mean I, like me, should step out of my car?

Okay, I stepped out.

Went through the back door, opened the door and kicked(dragged and push) their wet a$$es out.

Thank God trip was in card. I drove straight to their destination which is same path my destination b4 ending the ride without any remorse or bad feeling.

Anybody wey won vex make he vex, my rating only dropped by 0.1.

Nonsense!

grin grin grin

This your story made me remember what happened like two weeks ago. That day, I swear I remembered you. I say na you go fit do this kind thing.

I don't know what transpired between the driver and the rider before then, but when I drove past, I saw that the driver came out of the car and began hitting the rider in the front seat.

It appeared he wanted to open the door but the rider locked the door from inside that's why he was hitting him. In a swift move, the rider moved to the driver seat, and tried driving off. The driver began hitting the car and a bike guy tried blocking the guy. We were in traffic but it was moving slowly and this guy was reversing, driving forward, hitting anything in his path. The driver was trying to hold his car, in the process he broke his side mirror.

The thing be like film that day...

So Bros, abeg be calming down...

Increase in card trips? Hmmm... All through last week, I had just about 2-3 card trips. Some riders complain of debits when trip is not even completed and all those issues associated with unnecessary debits.

So I was opportuned to hear the Olosho side of the story today. Picked one up and we were just gisting so she told me how some drivers deliberately pass long routes because they want the money to increase.

That what they don't even know is that, if she's going to meet a man, she does not mind which route you take as long as she's not the one paying but when she's just coming back from hustle especially one with these young guys who don't pay well and still drill the hell out of her, she's angry already and if the fare increases by one naira, your rating will suffer for it. grin

We got to her destination and her money increased by N100 naira. I was like, does this mean my rating will suffer? She said noo, I like you and the man I went to meet paid me well. She paid me my money, rated me 5 star, and I left grin

This experience with her further explains the stupidity of bolt and this their rating system

You finally picked one of the 'good' olosho... cheesy cheesy cheesy

Sometimes I have very interesting conversations with some of them and you'll be surprised how intelligent SOME (a few) of them can be. I then remember their hustle, then my MIND would ask them why they do what. They reply my MIND that it's all about the money for them. They do it to get money.

My MOUTH nearly asked the question once but I controlled myself and minded my own business. After all na ordinary driver I be...

Some people get what they deserve.

Got a trip on Saturday. The pick up distance was 15 minutes on the map and by my estimate the trip will end at around 3k so I decided to go for it. The best part of it was that, its a stone throw to my house.

Called the rider and asked if he wasn't in a hurry because it will take me about 15 minutes to arrive and he said no problem so I proceeded.

Just as I was arriving, this guy cancelled. The thing pain me enter bone. grin

Anyway, fast forward to today, this same guy called me and said "were you the bolt driver that carried my mum last week Saturday? " Of course, I carried someone else's mum that same Saturday so I said yes.

He said, the trip ended N2800 and you told my mum it was N8200. Me ke? Where did I pick your mum from and where was she going? By the time he answered, I knew who he was. Told him I didnt even get to go on that trip because he cancelled it just as I arrived. Na so I cut call.

Whoever that bolt driver is, I hope his as.s gets permanently blocked off the platform even though I kind of feel the guy got what he deserved. If I had gone on that trip, her mums N5400 would have been intact

I've been getting similar complaints of late. What I simply tell them is to report the trip to Bolt and explain in details how the driver told them a higher fare amount than the displayed fare. I even had to show a lady how to do it. It's so annoying when you hear reports like that because it makes riders begin to distrust drivers.
In fact for the lady in question, she insisted I confirmed the payment on my end so that it would be displayed on her end before she made payment. She explained why and after confirming she was paying cash, I confirmed the payment before she actually paid.

What if she was transferring? So I'll be there dragging and talking long story because she didn't trust the system due to what a fraudulent driver did? It's rubbish!!!

I put off the car and after buying the fuel, the car refused to start. I try tire, it refused to come up. They had to push the car to one corner. Finally got it fixed after more than 2hours. It was a very annoying experience. Since then I've learnt my lesson like you are just learning now. smiley smiley

Injector head cleaning.
Injector nozzles/Injector mouths washing.
Check air filter, if very very dirty, change it, don't dust it and replace grin

And in some cases additional checks include;
Fuel pump and filter
Coils
And off course change engine oil and filter if due.

I watched the lady's video and read the guys version. Las last ehn, it's just to pray to avoid devils as riders, and annoyingly, they are mostly females (no offense to the female folks here).

Most times these (bad) rider's tend to bring out the beast in you and sometimes it gets frustrating. True, we have some uncultured drivers, but it's more in riders than drivers.

Thank you guys, I am very thankful to God Almighty that I escaped the attack of the devil today. The devil wants to put me into trouble but God showed me mercy. From the comments, some think I wasn't careful or maybe I should rest but believe you me, this life is a battle. It can't be a coincidence that I experience such things 3 times in a row within the space of 30mins. I could have killed someone today and it will be tagged manslaughter. I don't even have money to pursue this case and God knows it wouldn't have ended well but God had mercy on me and I am thankful.
It's time to get closer to God Almighty and be very prayerful. It's today I believe 100% that God got my back and I will get back to God the way he expects me to.
We all need to be prayerful so that the devil will not attack us and put us in danger.
I will not be put into trouble to kill someone in my life and so shall it be for you too.
