Do you request for a cancellation fee or it is done automatically?
I don't know if Bolt users are charged for cancellation. I've never gotten any cancellation fee. Can anyone confirm if Bolt users are charged?

Lolzzz... I've parked my car one time trekked like 200m distance to make I entered the radius where the request came in from before cancelling. Cash my N300 cancellation.

I don't get it, weather they want drivers to come carry them from their room I don't know.
Especiallyin this rainy season. Make I spoil my motor because of 1K trip. Oga, request another ride if you can't come out abeg.

Another thing that is important to note is, always make sure to own bolt some reasonable amount e.g. max 4k. With that they'll hardly block your account no matter the greviance of ur offence.

No tell them say na me teach you bad tin ooh. grin
Hmmm... So those guys that were blocked were not owing them? Davit and pope191 kindly confirm.

Inasmuch as it's business, yet it's imperative to also be considerate not to take advantage of the the situation at hand due to the hardship that encompasses and stairs us in the face.

Its is reasonable not to reduce rent during the January winter period, after all owner partners didn't increase rent during the peak period of the festive or Xmas period. But during period of a global pandemic? Asking for 30k weekly? Brother man its not only evil but also insane, wicked and heartless. A devil I believe is even better. As in common!

Didnt u see d post of a driver that lost his life up there? Such driver its possible he was on a 30k weekly rental or HP.

Within is a screen shot of my week earning with bolt. I didn't driver with uber at all, so tell me, how I'm I supposed to get you 30khuh Considering I've to buy fuel, pay commision, data, call card, feed and do other things.

Brother man!!!
You no work on Monday and Saturday na. grin grin You are supposed to slave on those days too and not rest because you have to pay your partner.

The truth is, 30K remittance at this point in time, even though is feasible for some, is not reasonable, considering the present conditions. We know business is business, but car owners should please be considerate in these trying times.

I parked somewhere on Bourdillon road Ikoyi to pee. I was halfway done when I looked back and I saw them with their towing van positioned in a way that I can’t fight it. Either I let them drive it or tow it. I beg to have it driven so I don’t pay for towing. After so much of going back and forth they agreed to take 10k.

I was alone in the car with the lastma guy that drove and I kept begging him 3k later increased to 5k, he didn’t accept when we got to their office at Sura, he said if I don’t do ‘normal’ he will drive the car into their compound then I can beg his superior with the 5k. I know better not to allow him drive into their compound.
Lastma guys and their wahala. Everybody get their days, some more often than others. Today was just your day. So sorry man, we understand.

But wait o, did you complete the piss?? grin Na expensive piss be that o... grin grin

No even reason am na my zone. Aside the terrible roads anytime you carry passenger go there you go 99.92% chance blow empty come back. Unless you pick up road side passengers on ur way back and should you do that just turn on ur ac wind up if not police check point for there go practically empty all the money once them no say na passengers you pickup.
Badagry is a NO GO AREA. But if you venture there, and you live on the Island abeg, try buy foodstuff. A bag of foreign rice there is N19,000 as against N29,000 on the Island. Beans N200 for derica, as against N400. Big balls of watermelon N300, as against N800.

At least you get to wreck your car for something because when you get back, there's a 90% chance that you have to visit a mechanic workshop.

When you get to police checkpoint, just wind up and put on your AC. 98% of the time, you'll not be stopped.

Also, don't always wait for card trips to settle or give back to ceaser his dues. Even the okada drivers, bus drivers, trailer and other commuters do pay as they load and its all over the country. What I do at the end of daily COB I transfer a particular amount accorsing that wont break my bank account to bolt using my account code so I dont get restricted to card trip which would automatically affect my work done at the end of the day an can go further to affecting my partnership with my owner.

Wisdom at this period is profitable and imminent.
Felicity001 your head dey there. Why would one wait till he gets blocked from cash trips before he remits to Bolt? Maybe some drivers don't know sha.

Personally, my 'bench balance is -N4,000'. Once it crosses N4,000, I make a transfer of N3,000 to them which should bring me back to a balance of -1,000+, and the process repeats itself again when it rises above that...

The level of "what's your account number" after a trip, is really on the high side.

Is it just me?
It's everywhere. 90% of cash trips is actually 'Transfer trips'. I personally don't have issues with it as far as I receive credit alert before I leave.

all I can say is that you should be careful about your rider did not show cancellations. Always try to check the percentage at the end of the day

About your question... yes I did cancel all trips after 5 minutes. Well I’m left with the option of doing only Uber but Uber no be work. I’ve moved on already.
Rider did not show, Number not available, Forbidden area, I do not wish to serve this client... I've use them all as the case demands. If Bolt blocks today, man go still survive. The good thing is that you've adapted to the situation. Hopefully you'll get unblocked soon.

Question: How many times can a rider cancel before getting blocked?

same issue here. I sent them mail to that effect and their first response was that my account is suspended till 2030. Later they sent another mail saying if in a week’s time I don’t hear from them I should know that my account has been blocked permanently
Ah an? 2030 bawo? grin grin

Question: Do you guys allow the 5mins to elapse before cancelling? Me I've been cancelling and nothing has happened (yet).

Went out when the cloud was getting dark hoping to get small change. Rain started heavily and was about turning back home when request entered. Called rider, number didn't connect. I was close to PU and I slide on "Arrived". If if not close to PU, I still do that once the number didn't go through. Later cancelled after 5mins.

Second request came in. I had to go and make a turn that would take me about 10mins for a (definitely) N500. I made the turn alright, but didn't stop at PU. Straight to my house.

We go move Lagos another day abeg...

Oh do they now ask for code to drive out?
They only have to check your trunk, unless you have load.
Abi dem just start??
They ask for code at the exit. Very annoying and frustrating estate to go into. You can spend like 30mins at the gate just to go in.

Meanwhile on cancellations, mine was not cancellations per say. I set my destination to Abraham Adesanya around past 5 from Lekki. Got a request to Badore. Traffic was already building and in my head I'll just drop off the rider and head home. Dropped the rider off around 6:30 and immediately another request came in.

I called the rider and asked where she was headed, she said Blenco Sangotedo, I said no problem, na my route. After the abnormal delays we began the trip, this was like some minutes to 7. Apparently she was a drug mule or merchant. She started making calls and the person she was going to meet told her to go to Folixx at Lekki. For my mind I just dey laugh. The girl was just on calls and didn't even ask if I'll go.

We were almost at Ajah in traffic when she said, "Oga, na Folixx we dey go o", and I'm like "I'm sorry I'm not going towards that direction". She wanted to start raising her voice that didn't I hear when she was making call, why didn't I say I wasn't going, and now she can't order another ride bla bla bla. I asked her again if I didn't ask her when I called her initially. She was like bla bla bla. I no sha talk. I was still driving in traffic towards the bridge.

Las las sha, she made calls, and had to re-route to Awoyaya.

Na road I for sleep that day...

Would it not be much better if Bolt puts in a bottle of alcohol-based sanitizer, a pack of single-user tri-ply facemasks and a can of aerosol disinfectant in every Bolt car every week?

How about Bolt investing in educating both riders and driver's about safe facemask practices? For example, I can bet my balls that 90% of everyone on this thread don't know how to safely remove their facemasks!

Most don't even know hanging your facemask under your chin is a no-no!

Our Nigerian system window-dresses; and solves no problem. I'm sure this protective shield of a thing is just another Naija contractor cashing out.
Till now, I doubt if Bolt sent any mails to riders concerning Covid-19 protection tips like riding with the air-conditioning turned off. Bolt is just like the typical Nigerian company to say the least. They care only about their profits and nothing else.

If no visible leakages and doesn't smoke

I will suggest to check the kind of oil you are using sir, if too light for your engine.
And another possible cause is crankshaft seal, are kind of tricky, they may not leak while on standstill but spill when on motion.
Another scenerio can be your piston and rings, it may not smoke at the alarming rate but is gradually giving up.
Just proper diagnosis should help you sir
Hmm... Thanks, I appreciate.

Why do Nigerians bicker when their cars are involved in minor accidents? It is usually argued that the reason is that most Nigerian vehicle owners do not have "comprehensive insurance cover."

I wish this information can be on the front page for more persons to see. You will see grown men fighting on the road because of minor dents on their cars when all they should do is talk about insurance.

I don't blame them though, the average Nigerian is not properly sensitised on the gains of insurance and would only do it to avoid police wahala. The insurance guys too don't want you to have this information so that you'll not come to lay any claims.

To all you purchasers and 'purchasees' of Bolt Accounts, read this gist.

So I met this Bolt driver when I went for my car inspection today and he told me that he came for the inspection of his car but with someone else's account as his account was blocked. I asked why he was blocked and he told me too many cancellations.

He told me he already bought one from a guy last week and the next day, the guy changed his password. Crazy right? 10K don go like that.

Now he bought from someone else and said he must make sure he goes to the guy's house before making payment so as to prevent same occurrence.

Question is, what happens if/when any fraudulent activity is carried out on the account? Is 10K worth the risk?
