Exactly what I want to say when I'm up... we should cut riders some slack, 10 mins wait is not bad. The only difference here for me is the wait on Indriver e.g early morning trip from mainland to island or close hour trip where a rider books a ride from 4:35 cos he or she knows by 5pm everywhere will be red and now the driver gets there 3 mins after booking. Meaning driver have to wait till 5 and end up doing trip that's is supposed to be 1 hr for 2 hrs, that's not fair.

having said this, I feel drivers should take that waiting time of a thing easy and understand from the view of the riders if it's not intentional, If riders can wait for 10, 15min's for drivers to arrive, so what's the big deal if a driver is found at the other end? The only thing I tell riders and it's because of how volatile indriver can be, is to tell them the ET to destination and if the changes doesn't commiserate with the price due to delay from them, then I'm sorry, I'll have to abort mission.
In my own opinion, if a driver is going to be kept waiting for more than 5mins, he should be told about it. But we know that would never happen. What you'll hear is, "I'll be right down". And then when you call after 5mins, you'll hear, "Oh, are you here already? Don't worry you'll see me now."

For me, the only time I'll wait for more than 5mins is if;
i. It's a long trip.
ii. It's a 'good destination' (Good road network + No traffic).
iii. It's a surge trip (preferably 1.9 wink )
iv. Everywhere is dry (Not more than 10mins on this one).

Bottom line is, when requesting a ride you can actually see the number of drivers in your vicinity. If there are lots of drivers in your area, and you are not ready, don't request, as a driver may just be at your gate already.

That’s the trip details
Try updating your App. Below "Need Help", there are a couple of items. Click on "Passenger did not pay or paid less", then click on "Contact Us".

It turned out that as I was trying to simulate it on my app to see how it would work, I used a trip I had yesterday. As I clicked on "Contact us", it just loaded and a message popped up that I've been refunded N850 (that's half of the trip), and it would appear in my account within a week. I've actually been paid for the fare. Is there a way I can reverse this?

The N850 was actually credited immediately, and perhaps Bolt would have sent the rider a message regarding this.

I've sent a message to them, hopefully they rectify it before the rider's account get blocked.

In hindsight though, I probably should have just left it for a while before rectifying it. This woman ranks No. 1 in bad riders I've come in contact with.

I thank God I was in a good mood yesterday else I probably would have lost my cool. Immediately I heard, "Oga please I'm in a haste", and the way she said it, I knew she was ONE OF THEM. I just locked up. She sat at the back so it helped. "Oga drive fast na"(in Sangotedo traffic o), "Oga if you want to brake, brake once" (how do you brake once in traffic huh), "I don't even know why you are driving like this, maybe you want the money to increase (still in traffic o)".

She was fortunate she picked her kids from school, probably that's why I kept calm. I didn't utter a word till we got to destination.

Las las ehn, if you are not patient and ready to take shiit from people that are probably not up to your level in reality, don't bother venturing into e-hailing.

Report the ride to Bolt. All things been equal, you would be refunded half of the fare and his account would be blocked. Then you move on with your life. It's one of the hazards of the job.

I already gave the answer on what Uber/Bolt will say when somebody advised him to report the trip, so reporting was a waste of time.

That guy should just forget about that money and move on.

But I doubt he will because he sounds broke, arrogant and childish, tagging all drivers "criminals" is enough to even ignore him.

Let him suffer for his sins.
Immediately I saw the guys post, I didn't even bother 'cos of his manner of approach. And when I saw that he wrongfully accused DeeDee as the driver (I think) and tagged all drivers as fraudulent, I just locked up.

Some people are just lazy in reading. Before I began commenting on this thread, I read from the beginning till the latest post, so there were questions I already knew answers to. If the guy did, he would have known how to present matters.

Picked this one on a N500 naira trip Told me to end the trip, go offline, wait for him till he's done and take him back to the same place I picked him.

I'm just here wondering if there are drivers that actually agree to this kind of nonsense. If to say na better return trip self, shey I for understand.

And there's a way people say things that makes you wonder if they grew up under any parent.

"Go inside and park. End the trip, go offline and wait for me. You will take me back". Really?
cheesy cheesy

Sometimes, you wouldn't blame the riders. Its the rubbish some drivers tolerated in the past that they pass on to new drivers and expect it to be the normal trend.

Picked up two guys from Lekki Gardens Phase 2, destination Blenco Sangotedo. Before they came out sef na war, almost ten minutes paid waiting. After they finally came out, they came out with a 12.5kg gas cylinder and 25lts petrol keg. My mind was like, maybe they wanted to go to Petrocam for gas and petrol at once.

As they came in, I asked where they were headed, they said Blenco. As we were going they started talking about what they would buy and all. For my mind, hope these ones no go expect me to wait o?? Interestingly, they didn't ask or tell me anything o.

When we got there, one of them said "Shey he go wait for us", the other one now said "please don't end the trip". I just turned and looked at them and was like, "Sorry, I've ended the trip", then I ended the trip. The guy was like, we have stuffs in your boot na. I was like, "So you expect me to wait for you while you go shoppinghuh".

Last last sha, my rating dropped. cheesy cheesy cheesy But who cares, right?

Now look at the images close below. The last picture was my rating as at 20th.

Last night I closed work with 4.65.

Sometime this morning the 2nd to last image is my current rating.

The other pictures are images of my trip details from last week till date.

Mind you I started last week with a rating of 4.43

So do the maths yourself you'd discovered I've mot even completed up to 40trips in total yet my rating has changed up to 4times in 1week.

My cancellation rate was 24% few days back.

I hope I'm able to convince you with these few point and pictorial evidence.
From your analogy, a driver's rating gets updated after 40 INCOMING TRIPS whether completed or not (that's if I'm not mistaken). How come yours changed 4times in a week if you didn't have up to 160 incoming trips?

cheesy If your Bolt App is updated, you'll click on a reason for giving the one star. Violent, Dirty, Puked in your car e.t.c are reasons why you can give one star.

But then why stress when it wouldn't affect them in a any way. After all someone here (abi na you sef) carried someone with one star...
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by InfinityEstates: 6:51pm On Mar 24, 2021
Felicity001:
Rating review is base on riders and usually after every 40 request that hits a driver's account irrespective weather it was completed or not.

Take for an instance from the screen shot below 22/48 trips completed... If this driver was a new driver his rating would have either reduced from 5.0 or remain the same despite not completing the 48 trips base on what riders rated him on the 22 trips completed.

Mind you some riders don't rate at all so this is where the hours of rating comes in. 3hrs is the time frame to rate your driver after any trip. After 3hrs the rider will not be able to rate that trip any more.

So if your rating had dropped especially in the morning of the next day its possible 1or 2 riders rated you after you'd gone offline. Also, your actual rating at a particular time is not always shown on your(driver's) app rather in the rider's app. Riders sees tye real rating of a particular driver, this is due to some reasons like 40request threshold and waiting time of computation.

Modify: I may be wrong to some extent though but I know I'm 95% right with this.
I understand your anology. But it doesn't explain why a driver's rating would change twice a day when it's obvious there's no way 80trips (40 × 2) was completed.

For me, all the times my rating dropped are when I cancel two or more trips.

I don't think this is true. I've had a rider send me an in app message that went like this "I'll so report you and make them block you for arriving without coming to my location"

That was during the December rush when I was blowing empty to a place I saw thick surge and her useless trip came in.

Nothing eventually came out of her report or maybe she eventually did not.
As far as I know (I might be wrong), a rider or driver can only report a trip ONLY if the trip took place. If the trip didn't happen, then you'll just be seeing articles on how to report trips when you click on it.

Same thing happened to me same December rush too. I was at OkunAjah junction and a trip came in from Atican Beach to Addo road in the evening and there was heavy traffic. Told them (a guy and some girls I think) to cancel and they said they wouldn't that I should. I said ok I would and I arrived. They called again and started shouting that why would I arrive and that they were going to report me and Bolt would block me blah blah blah. I was just laughing at them and wasting their airtime.

Bottom line, nothing would happen (for now) as far as the trip was not started.

He that's without sin should cast the first stone.
Give him a chance to explain himself, if it's clear beyond all reasonable doubt that he has no intention of returning the money then you can report him.

Let not be hasty to judge people like that.

It's not everybody that's in kirikiri that's criminal or guilty of the allegations.
Bros no vex o, but you said they should give him a chance to explain himself that he collected the fare for a card trip? I don't know about Uber but Bolt would write it clearly that it's a Bolt payment, don't not collect cash (something like that sha). So why would someone in his right senses do that if not that his village people are after him. And they've even been calling him for days now and he's yet to repent of his sinshuh Abeg o...

Left for me, that kind of case shouldn't even be brought here. I'll have reported him immediately to Bolt and my money would be refunded. I no get time for nonsense abeg.

Unfortunately, ratings don't mean much on bolt. You can be on 5.0 in the morning and same day you're on 4.85 by evening.

Not really sure about the destination thing. To think I used to hit 5 stars a lot in my early days before riders turned me to who I am now but I never really took note of the destination feature. Never really liked it. Feels like it restricts me. I like to keep my options open.
I live around Ajah and I don't work in the mainland. At times, due to surge and/free roads I go on mainland trips. All the times I've been on the mainland, I'm always setting the destination back to Abijo or Lakowe or Bogije to 'keep my options open' for island trips. Then once its around 6-7pm, I set destination again.

There are times I use up the destination feature for the day before the day ends while there are some days I don't even use it at all. I wish Bolt could give like 10 or 12 slots for the week as against the 2 daily.

How many trips has d guy completed...that way u will know if he is a newbie or not. On Bolt even if u r 10stars na 2 destination trips max.
The way he is complaining sef, he isn't a 5star Driver, maybe him don buy account. Bolt doesn't even give opposite direction in destination trips, except u were coming from Epe axis. If he doesn't want to go he can cancel cos he can see where u where going before accepting, why will he come to u and start complaining.
Some drivers think because u have set destination trip u must get it, omo, if u r not d closest driver to someone who is going ur way oyo is ur case. Cos d rule still applies, that closest driver to rider gets d trip first. Only advantage is that u will not get trips outside ur direction, so u don't have to keep cancelling.

Now, how many stars u give am? cheesy grin

Hi guys, abeg anyone here with a 5.0star rating?

I had to order a ride yesterday and I realized the guy had a 5star rating. For my mind, wawu...

Got there and the guy started complaining that he was going to mainland but was given Ajah trip and all. And I was like why didn't you set destination to mainland, or have you used it up?

The man was like I can't use it up, didn't you see my stars, I'm on 5stars blah blah blah we can exhaust it. I was like how do you do it, I thought Bolt only gives 2 destinations a day,? Is it that you cancel when you get a request and tell them to reorder without using the destination option? The guy went on again about his 5star rating that he can set destination anytime he likes.

I just dey laugh for my mind. At the end of the trip, one mind said I should nack him 1star let that 5star reduce to my own... grin grin

Anyways sha, back to my initial question? Was the guy right? Do drivers with 5stars have more destination options a day?

You spoke well.

But one thing for sake of next time, any trip a rider didn't go on after starting the trip and it's less than 1km should be taken as "trip didn't happen" you're npt supposed to collect money for the trip. This was clearly thought during the physical training sections on both apps.

Anyways, no one is perfect. You meet a gentle rider... Those daughters of jezebel will never pay for such trip.
Boss, you of all people should understand that some of what was taught in those training classes is quite different from what is obtainable on the streets of Lagos. I lost N500 TWICE using the "trip did not happen" option. In both cases, the N500 was added to my earnings and the commission was deducted.

Since then, I learnt that the only time I wouldn't collect money from riders if they intend on cancelling the trip is if I've not already started the trip. In fact on some occasions, some riders would just give me N500 for the stress of coming to PU.

Fuel Attendant New Cheating Trick.

I went to Mobil filling Station, Abule Egba this morning to purchase fuel 5k. The sell normal price @N162/ltr.

The young guy programmed the pump at N5k and started selling, I was with my son in the car so I didnt border stepping outta the car, nevertheless, I was watching erratically. The young guy was standing close to the pump counting the money on his hands and I could see the pump at 3800+ and I looked away, the next seconds I looked I could see this attendant guy punching something from the other side of the pump and on my own side of the pump I saw 5000 blinking with a dash (- - - -) on the place where the amount of litres is been displayed. Immidiately, the guy quickly removed the nozzle and the closed my tank and came to ask for money. All of this happened with seconds.

I was like, anh anh, watin happen? That thing show 3800+ just now how come 5000 con dey show all of a sudden.

Knowing I've caught him, he quickly put the bpame of NEPA that they change light thats why.

I then said, so if them change light na him you c9me close my tank? Already i don step out of the car, open my tank and asked him to complete my fuel. As he removed the nozzle again to complete the fuel the initial sale pop up and it was N4,054. All this while during the conversation that 5000 and the dash lines where still blinking o.

I was like wow! So this is new trick you guys do to steal from people.

i can't even take permission for starting a trip talk less making a call , any rider that ask me when did I start a trip my reply and my face will make rider keep quiet
Let me start with the bolded.

You should always tell the rider when starting the trip. In some cases, especially when they are seated at the front, I point at my phone as I inform them I'm starting the trip. In most cases they just say it's fine. In one case I experienced, the lady sat at the back and she said I didn't show her when I started the trip and I told her the notification is always sent on the app when the trip is started.

Personally, I don't feel it's a big deal telling the rider you are starting the trip as it's just to eliminate any feelings being defrauded or the likes. Some drivers would slide arrive without getting to pickup and by the time the driver gets to pickup, the rider is already waiting and your paid waiting is already on 5mins. Some drivers would even go on to start the trip before even picking up the rider.

Guys, if we are being honest with ourselves, all these are cases of fraud and it's wrong.

About two weeks ago, I picked up two ladies at Thomas Estate on a Friday night. They were going to Lekki and it was on surge. Before I started the trip, I showed the one sitting in front that I was starting the trip. Immediately I moved like 5m, the one seated behind said the person they were going to meet said there was heavy traffic everywhere so they should reschedule. She said they were no more going. I told her I've already started the trip. I ended it and it displayed N900. She was like ah an, we didn't even move! I turned to the one in front and asked her, "You saw when I started the trip, right?", she said she did. That quashed what would have been an argument of whether I started the trip before I came and all that, and I was paid.

Like I said, it's no big deal when you tell your riders you are starting the trip.

For taking permission before making calls, I wouldn't even bear the thought of a complete stranger listening in on my private conversations. Besides it's even wrong to make calls while driving because of distractions and all, that's why you would most likely be arrested while making a phone call while driving (even when in traffic) except of course you are using a handsfree device.

Bottom line is, we are in a service industry and as such, our aim should be to make our 'customers' as comfortable as possible because whether we like it or not, of there are no riders, there would be no drivers...

Once a trip is started, you are 'practically' in the hands of the rider with regards to rating. If you didn't embark on the trip, no matter what happens between you and the rider, they have no hold over you.

Drive through the road and look out for the sign "Jamaican Rice is Sold Here...", you don see RADAUTOWORKS be that... grin

The cost of things has gone up .. Exchange rate and ongoing road construction near the port has made business very difficult........

I will be bringing in engine oil that will be more affordable and will do as well as the name brand oil ...... So no need to worry if mobil or other name brand is out of price range.........

Even the price of Mobil 1 imported for the Nigerian has gone up
Noted Boss. Kindly let us know when it comes in. Even the one I thought was good (Mobil semi-synthetic) is now expensive. I wouldn't mind adding a little extra for a better quality.
