A Canadian man was telling me that immigration rule will change due to the recent coronavirus.

Many are hoping to immigrate and get better jobs in Canada this year. Not being negative but some news I'm getting is signalling that there might be increase in unemployment rate, immigration rules would change. Those that have landed in Canada, what do you think

It's not easy for those of us that recently landed that were looking to get jobs.. We are just here spending our POF.. Atleast you're still in Nigeria with jobs.. Settling down anywhere isn't easy, Corona virus made it worse..

We're using this time to develop ourselves for when the job market kicks off again... if it becomes worse, we go just find any job to do, just to hold body..

But hey, no regrets being here.. I'm sure we go dey fine las las.. God dey

What agents have done to people ehhh and sadly the visas are what most people can do on their own if they can read the procedure online..

@op, whatever happens, please know that you still have life ahead of you. All hope is not lost, be it in Nigeria or elsewhere. I say this because I can imagine how heartbroken you're since you went to the extent of buying food stuffs for the travel.. When there's life, there's hope... stay strong

I will like to know if these BA1- BA4 is sufficient for conversion to CPA in Canada if yes, do I need any other thing?. I have no accounting background at all. Please advice. Thanks

To convert to CPA, you need to write the whole 16 CIMA papers.. and then have atleast 3yrs of Accounting experience..

Just thinking out loud, weren't you entitled to some compensation by the airline for your damaged bag/goods? I can't imagine "settling out of court" at naija airport because of these precious food items, and end up having them destroyed 26hrs later in a strange land oo!

If machine detects anything in your bag at Toronto airport, they're entitled to open it and if your bag is locked or there's no means to open it, they'll tear it because you wouldn't be there.. One of our bag was opened too, we locked the bag but they someone opened the zip...I noticed that our honey which we tied inside a newspaper was torn and our fish too.. don't know if it was the bees in the honey that got detected or something..

And once they've searched your bags, they'll leave it like that..We met ours on the floor, open...

There are other cases too.. it has nothing to do with the airline..if you don't want your bag torn, leave it accessible incase there's need to search it..

But I doubt if AJ would have made it far in his career if he stayed in Nigeria permanently..it's easier to miss Nigeria when you have an alternative.. would he have been treated this way if he wasn't rich and famous ?

How long will he spend in Nigeria before he goes back? I will only take you seriously if he stays permanently in Nigeria.. I'm sure the OP is typing from the US

Until Nigeria becomes better and starts to treat her citizens better, people will find alternative, become patriotic from afar and visit from time to time

Go and register in Sask's expression of interest.. since you've a sibling there, your score should be enough to get ITA in the next draw..

Are you more interested in knowing whether the decision can be reversed or reentering the pool with CRS that may not get ITA? I advised this seeing that even if you add your spouse's ECA, you won't get to 470. Many people have appealed their rejections and gotten favorable responses.. Well, I don't know if it will stall your re-registration and it doesn't cost anything, it's just emails.

I had 8 in IELTS and spouse had 6.5, so I think we can do better there. We did not evaluate spouse's degree at the time, but we will be doing so now. We will enter the pool with whatever we have now and maybe by some miracle, the scores will drop for a minute and we can get ITA again with those points.

My advice is to appeal the decision with screenshots from CIC website highlighting Law as a professional degree...In addition, if you can get a copy of IQAS evaluation of law degree from your school, attach it and state that you didn't see the need to evaluate with IQAS who awards professional degrees to same Law degree from your school, given that it's already stated on CIC website as a professional degree... raise CSE and mail MPs whose emails you can get from your AOR group..

Even if you wanted to claim professional degree, you should have backed it up with LOE seeing that your degree wasn't evaluated as that.

I like how positive you're but I feel you should appeal, it doesn't cost anything.. CRS cutoff points are on the high side now and it makes sense to atleast appeal..

Hello house, I just entered the express entry pool. I checked dependents and only my husband is listed but not my child. Did I make a mistake while filling the profile? Shouldn't dependents show both my husband and child? Anyway to correct this? I plan to relocate with both husband and child

Your dependent children information will only be needed after ITA and that's when their details will be requested... all the best

You ain't even married yet and you're already bringing your issues to the public.. Kindly go and sort your issues with your wife (to be)..

Exactly why I asked if you used it to gain admission because if yes, then it's considered as year 1 and your Bsc transcript which will start from yr2 can't be completed without the yr 1, that's the diploma.. together they're now evaluated as a degree.. You need to do Bcs cert..

This is for WES though.. don't know how other bodies evaluate it..

I have Unilag diploma I completed before B.Sc, can that be evaluated or give me higher chances alongside BCS

Did you use the diploma to gain admission for your Bsc?

You may want to mention the diploma, incase anyone has successfully evaluated such with WES..

If the diploma can be evaluated favorably along side your Bachelors, you don't need the BCS exam again.

Register for BCS exam.. it's an IT exam that'll boost your points, giving you two or more certificates. . Exam is coming up next month, then there is another one in September if you can't meet up with that of next month. You're already in IT, so the exam should be easy for you, I suppose.. Then aim to max out your IELTS exam.. L8.5, R8, S7.5, W7.5.

Please do what you've to do now... Do not bank on hope that's not sure when you've an alternative.. Atleast your wife can come and join you in like a year.. someone shared his sponsorship timeline few weeks ago..

And If they do skilled trade draw, scores will even go higher.. some people on 468 are even rewriting IELTS to see if they can max out... please do not wait.. All the best

They're still preparing.. that means the facilities may not even be ready in one year

well, you don't need to update before you know.. the CRS calculator is always there to calculate projected score..

Evaluation is not compulsory for the accompanying spouse, but with recent hike in CRS cut off points, I wonder how couple will be able to get 470 and above without both doing ECA?

Except they have siblings, Education or experience in Canada shaa..

We have to open a court section on nairaland where we will be judging these cases.

Every day, we hear one person's story and they expect us to say something objectively

And most of those new cases are from new accounts..
I think most of the stories are fake and for traffic..

We have to rather study our children and know what they want, assist them in that path and they would become dependent when grown and useful to themselves and their immediate environment.

Not taking them through what we want them to be, even if nah Mechanic the child is good in, you can put him in that path and let him blossom. That's what my parents did and all 6 of us are in great places.

Don't force your child to be a doctor or lawyer, other professions too are good.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with introducing the guy to IT or other skills he may have interest. .. It helps to give the child options.. He can choose whatever he wants when he grows up but atleast he will be exposed to them enough to make his choice.. I can't fold my hands and wait for whatever my child wants to become.. it's my duty to show him options.. The OP hasn't forced any option on his child..

I plan to introduce my kids to sports, IT and other skills when they come of age..

you cant be so sure, there was 2 draws of 60 last year (April 2019). so 60 points can give u EOI my brother, in this game anything is possible sir.

After they expanded their occupation in demand in September 2019 with plenty people in the pool now? I doubt 60 can fetch ITA.. even people on 65 points are worried..

but then, impossible is nothing.
