Sports / Re: Joseph Yobo Uncensored! I Can’t Be A Part-Time Eagles Player by infolpf: 8:36pm On Apr 05, 2013
People, athletes especially, should learn that their personal egos and aspirations can NEVER be placed above the team. Even if your country is akin to a den of thieves, Playing for your nation should be a thing of pride, a call to service. It is a duty you owe to your country, not a duty owed to you!

Una no go sch? Una no see say N100 is for a month bfore una con dey convert naira to dollar. Eh?

Why dont you pay attention before you jump into a conversation uninvited and advertise your inability to scroll and read? I was responding to the person who suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the app after the first year, rather than pay the $1 fee for the app. My comment had nothing to do with the N100 from Airtel. Now, you would know this if you were not in such a hurry to make your empty voice heard! Silly child.

omaigala: SIMPLE, just delete & re-download it after 1 year, you will get another year free.

Or just pay the $1?? Come on, its $1(N158) for 1 year, people!!! If you find the app so useful, why is it inconceivable to pay N158 for it for one year?

Bros info@lpf, Thanks for the advice, but there number is on the internet already, they put it there them self so anybody from anywhere in the world can call them and ask about the car. Pls go to craigslist.org u will see thousands of names & cell numbers. The ones that don’t want u to call there is an email. i think this is how we do it here in USA.
thanks you bros.

Bros Femi, I think you are missing my point, and getting overly defensive. The numbers are on craigslist, yes. However, most posters on craigslist categorically state they only wish to deal locally, and moreso, Craigslist states on clearly that do not want spam or "419ers from Nigeria". Now by cataloging several sellers listings in your NL post, you have done several things - 1. you have just left their personal mobile numbers open to a range of 419 possibilities, 2. your business model is flawed as no legitimate seller on craigslist would carry on a conversation with a "buyer" who is not local (HAVE YOU SEEN THE WARNINGS ALL OVER CRAIGSLIST?), and especially not a buyer who is located in Nigeria! 3. It is simply impolite and uncool to repost a persons personal information without the persons permission.

Regarding your "this is how we do it here in the USA" statement - not sure how old you are, or how long you've lived in the US, but its irrelevant if you still cannot learn to do things the right way!

The list is easy to remember - any business Alhaji Aliko Dangote is involved in is on this list - juice, bagged cement, noodles etc! How dare you compete against Oga? You can't fit! SMH.

good publicity for them. my aunt (no hidden agenda, just a truly charitable woman, who also happens to be a widow) feeds about 250 indigent (poor) folks in the lekki phase 1 area every wednesday and saturday. She seeks no publicity and does it from her meagre earnings. THAT is what I call charitable.

jmichael:

Mumu a pharmacist (professionally trained in drug manufacure, packagin and dispensin) has given an advice and u say u wanna ask ur doctor (a professional trained to detect difwent disease conditions, diagnose and cary out surgery if need b). Even a doctor wld refer u to a pharmacist regardin issues like dis.

Jmichael, YOU, infact are the mumu, because your statement has proven that you are ignorant, at best. Do you know the courses of study of a trained Pharmacist and Medical Doctor? Clearly not. Medical doctors in most parts of the civilized world study pharmacology, as part of the comprehensive field of study. Pharmacists, on the other hand, are trained only in pharmacology and end up as medicine dispensers. For your information, most pharmaceutical companies hire Medical Doctors usually with PhD's, not dispensing pharmacists to run their research departments. Research DOctors are the ones who devote their lives to curing ailments through medical research which more often than not results in the invention of medicines. There is a reason why Pharmacists earn between $60K - $120K and Doctors $100 and up! They are better scientists, and better prepared for the science of curing ailments!

Pharmacists and Doctors now work hand in hand, but my Doctor is better trained, and better prepared to detect and help cure any ailments than a pharmacist, even in her sleep! In the USA, pharmacists are found dispensing medicine, acting as an advisory buffer between the physician and the patient at the point where you go get your medicine. No medical doctor or pharmacist in the US, UK or Nigeria has ever told me that soft drinks would reduce the efficacy of my medicine!

I insist it is witch doctoring directed at inducing panic or to get cheap publicity. The so-called pharmacist should come out with empirical research that proves her statement! That is what a true scientist would do.

This sounds like witch doctoring without research! If the acidic content of soft drinks were enough to induce a chemical reaction from medicines, why then is it even fit for consumption? This is BULL CRAP in my humble, non-medical, but common sense having, opinion! Drinking medicine with milk also WILL NOT reduce the efficacy of your medicine! Dont believe everything you read, do your own research or ask your own doctor. Nonsense!

Car Talk / Re: Toyota Camry Vs Toyota Avalon: Your Preference And Why? by infolpf: 11:32pm On Mar 09, 2013
Trac: Both cars are the same. Same engine and same transmission. Wheelbase is different. They all use the same parts.

Same with the Lexus. In some market, the Lexus is the Toyota. Lexus GS350 is Toyota Aristo. I think the Crown is the LS450. The Prado is what is GX. That's marketing for you. Same vehicle, one with three circles and another with an encircled L.

In the American market, the Avalon comes premium.

I respectfully disagree, Sir. Both are NOT the same. Without going into engine and performance specifics, one is without question more luxurious than the other! Prado same as the GX? Only if you have never ridden in both. While they are both based on the same exterior design, the Lexus GX is unquestionably a LUXURY, compared to the plastic and iron interior of the Prado. Suspension is totally different also, giving you a totally different riding experience! Its like saying the Lexus LX is the same as the Toyota Land Cruiser! The $20,000 to $40,000 price difference is well justified, IMHO!

Car Talk / Re: Why Do Nigerian Women Drive Sluggishly? by infolpf: 11:00pm On Mar 04, 2013
Typical male chauvinist question, and responses. Y'all learn to have a little bit more respect for your womenfolk.
Never mind that the OP readily admits that he was over speeding to get to his "appointment". The lady driver who is steadily trying to get home to her family (and husband who is probably waiting to give her a 'dirty slap' for not having his food ready on time), is in his way by driving at a reasonable speed, and therefore a bad driver.

Amugen.
Bought some last year, while I was visiting Nigeria. Was sooo looking forward to digging in, got home and hurriedly started cracking them open (I like to place several in my mouth at same time). As I started to move towards my mouth with a small handful, I fortunately looked down and saw these two little squiggly guys happily waiting to get in my mouth also. Those things were full of worms!! Needless to say, I've lost my apetite for them.

Ikenna.

Ikenna351, WADR, I don't think the OP intended to be rude or to seek only Sienna's opinion. He asked a question, and has received conflicting opinion's based on preference. He recognizes that there are certain experts in the house, and wants their expert best practice opinion. Others, such as myself, are probably thinking the same thing. I genuinely would like to know the answer to this question, and an answer from a known expert would bring closure for me!

Also, for all the experts here who say this does not matter, or that does not matter because I have been called for interviews after sending from BB - understand this: The OP's comments are regarding best practices. It is simple advice that you can accept or decline. Perhaps you need to recognize that recruiters fall into many different categories - some are professional recruiters some are merely administrative folks who perhaps do not know any better than you do. The professional recruiters who have to sort through thousands of CV's to find the right person for 1 job, are searching for any reason to toss yours in the trash. You simply make it easy to get eliminated by letting them know you have no regard for their time!

But pls understand that for most job seekers (including my humble self), blackberry is actually the cheapest mode of internet connection especially in Nigeria.

If you can afford the monthly BIS fee on your Blackberry, then surely you can pay N150 to use the Internet at a business center to send your resume properly for a lifetime opportunity?

Now, i ve a girl out there, dat can even sacrify her life and everything on me.
What should i do pals?

What should you do about what? There is no dilemma in your story - you had a bad relationship and you both wrongly assaulted one another, now you have a good one. Whats the problem?? Go forth and sin no more, abuse and slap no more!

She already starred in a movie with Kimberly Elise -

Foreign Affairs / Re: Oscar Pistorius Granted Bail by infolpf: 8:58pm On Feb 22, 2013
Perhaps you guys do not understand - granting him bail simply means he can go home and prepare his case pending the outcome of the trial.
It does not mean the judge thinks he is innocent, and does not mean the judge is biased or has been bribed! Whats the fuss about?
He is not a flight risk - he is easily recognizable! Where can Pistorius run to and not be recognized? Even if not his face, surely his legs. Also, the judge will ask for his passport to be turned in. Come on guys!

Here's what works for me - I just imagine everyone in front of me is butt n.a.k.ed or sitting on a toilet pooing. Not in a s.e.xual way, for the dirty minded, but in a way that humanizes them, makes the situation (and the person) less intimidating, even amusing. Makes me smile, relaxes me, helps me find my sense of humor.

Fashion / Re: Must Wedding Gowns Be Sleeve-less? by infolpf: 6:55pm On Feb 21, 2013
Truth be told, the decision is sometimes not yours. In a lot of churches in Nigeria, especially Catholic, Baptist and Anglican churches, a bride is not allowed to wear a sleeveless dress. You would be politely asked to cover up before you walk the aisle. I have seen it happen on several occasions, even seen ladies wearing trousers turned back from a babies christening at a Baptist church (including the mother of the baby!) Advice: Before you buy a dress, do some research on the rules of your church.
