Kunletele:Your financial outlay for shipping your car from UK to Nigeria (either through Cotonou/Lagos) is BMW Car (@£1,200) =N282,000 Shipping (@£500) = N117,500 Clearing -Cotonou=N170,000/Lagos=N240,00 LHD Conversion= N150,000-N200,000 (Estimate). Shipping through Cotonou=N769,500 Lagos=N839,500 Do you think you can get a BMW 3/5 series 2000/2001 model for that amount @ Cotonou ? And will you be willing to take a risk and shell out money for a proper LHD conversion to be done? That should guide your decsion making thoughts. |
Just to announce that our UK shipped Rover Car arrived Lagos after it was successfully cleared through Cotonou by Tadeus (and his crew) and is currently undergoing LHD conversion at Lagos. Thanks goes to Larryshow4 who's Mechanic recommended the Mechanic we're now using for the LHD conversion.

Are you stating that this car is an original LHD ? Can't you see for yourself that it has been converted? Whats the big deal in trying to conceal the obvious? |
Where was the LHD conversion done ? What is the mileage ? |
Whats the mileage? How long has the car been used in Nigeria ? Can we see a picture of the dashboard to confirm if the LHD conversion was properly done ? |
Whats the price and the mileage ? |

Nice conversion job, where was it done ? ( The position of the handbrake is the giveaway). Secondly, Toyota Avensis cars are primarily manufactured as RHD in Derbyshire,UK. |
I've seen the pictures, so what's the mileage then ? |
I've sent you a reminder email |
Nice car. |
I've sent you an email and it was returned undelivered. |
Siena:Its common knowledge that Rover 600 series cars use Honda engines. |
This car is a good bargain for N1.3m. |
I have been informed that there is a 10 day free period at the Cotonou Port (unlike 3 days @ Lagos) before the Dopol starts to enforce the collection of Demurrage charges for uncleared cars. Does anyone know the daily rate of the charge? |
For clearing at Lagos ports Adexfem Mr Banji |
Siena:. |
I would add those who specialise in clearing cars and purchasing cars from Cotonou Tadeus Ademlabi Femmy2010 |
Whats the mileage ? |
mrbadd:Methinks its better to export the RHD and convert it in Africa-they have been converting cars there for a very long time |
DaudaAbu:The Toyota Avensis car is manufactured in Derby in UK. They are all manufactured as RHD and later converted to LHD for other European countries so it depends where your car was shipped from. However,if the car was UK registered you could check at www.checkmycar.com and for £3.95 can get a full report sent to your email including the VIN. |
Where was the conversion done ? Why dont you post the pictures after the car had been converted to LHD? |
tyor:Do you really think that your N700k can fetch you a 2001 Toyota Avensis model ? Don't try and undermine another persons business. To the seller, it would be better if you post recent pictures of the car (make sure its valetted) and show the engine (punters just like viewiing the engine for whatsoever reason). Presentation matters. |
Good car. Nice testimony. How much did the Avensis cost you ? |
Tadeus:Tadeus, is Kaymed working for you ? |
The lady had a Nigerian passport and needed to have obtained a UK visa before transiting through UK. Being a Canadian Resident doesnt give her any exemption or special concession. UK Immigration Officers at the passport control desk do not have handcuffs and dont have the powers to do so. However, Immigration Officers at the Detention Centre or Enforcement section do have such powers. The lady had previous visa applications refused so she would demand closer attention. The lady was most likely refused entry to the UK and removed to Canada. Hence, she would be having at least a one year visa application ban. The lady must have thrown up a tantrum that played into the hands of eager Officers who handcuffed her. Pregnant Nigerian women are a perceived security risk to UK Immigration Officers due to NHS medical abuse(i.e medical tourism). She should appeal against any decision granted against her. If she wasnt of good behaviour to the Immigration Officers before being handcuffed she should just move on |
What is the price for 2000 Model Toyota Avensis, 2000 Nissan Almera and 2000 Rover 45 with full specs? Whats the price for a 2000/2001 Toyota Coaster bus with full a/c ( 18 seater and 30 seater) Thanks |
As an ex-employee of FBN in Nigeria and FBN Bank UK I would advise you to go for FBN irrespective of the salary. You would learn the rudimentary baiscs of banking there to sustain your skillset for a lifetime. However, the career ladder is a very long one. The Organisational culture there is based on "gradism" (i.e grade levels). (The exception being some New-Gen staff being parachuted into Senior Managerial positions by their bosses who might have brought them over from their previous New-Gen banks). However ,life does not end with First Bank. You need to decide to move forward after a couple of years or else you'llll stagnate there and be afraid to leave after they have committed you with all their various bank loans and advances. Funny enough,if after leaving them and getting other banking experience and masters degree qualifications you can join FBN again at a very Senior Managerial level you'd never attain by staying there for the next 5-10yrs. Finally,I know next to nothing about Zenith's pay structure but the debate about salary choice should not be determined by how much you'll be paid but what you do with the money after you have been paid. In other words a Zenith Bank staff on N90k a month could properly invest and achieve much more with his salary than someone in First Bank on N105k. The N15k diffrence counts for nothing as the guy on N90k could end up with a higher disposable income if he's moneywise and prudent. |
