dekung: Your stubbornness and strong desire to veer away from overwhelming evidences when it directly stares you in the face is beyond me. Do you even read at all? If the bible was not compiled by the Catholic Church the who compiled it? Your pastor.I am my own pastor and no I did not compile the bible but what I do know is that the Catholic Church was not the sole compiler of the bible. And euen if they did compile it alone, it doesn't really change the fact that early Christians were making use of "un-compiled" scriptures. |
chukwudi44: Are you sure you know anything about the compilation of the bible? Where did u read that the deuteronocanonical books were excluded?* I don't know much about what transpired when the bible was compiled but what I do know is that the Catholic Church alone did not compile the bible. Different Churches at the time were also involved in the compilation. * the seven extra books in the Catholic bible was rejected by the other denominations because they felt that they were not divinely inspired. |
*Catholics did not compile the bible. * first and oldest denomination doesn't necessarily mean it holds all truth. * The apocrypha was excluded in the compilation of the bible. And not all the apocryphal books can be found in the Catholic bible, they only added some of it so it is not as complete as you think. |
Why don't you ask those in the higher spiritual realm? Why don't you use your astral body to travel into the past and find out? Or you can communicate with the wandering ghosts that can't find their way home and you can have a discussion with them. Surely, you can meditate and ask God Himself in the 7d realm. |
JeSoul: hehe see this guyplease and please, don't come and pour garri in my sand sand oo. |

Billyonaire: You can't resist my threads ? Don't you think there is a direction connection between your ignorance and your poverty index ?Can't resist your threads? You think there is something special about what you are saying? There is nothing that you are saying that is new, it is just recycled crap. And ummm how are the ghosts who can't find their way home? Hope you help them o enlightened super ghost. While helping them on their journey back home, could you tell them I said Hi? |
Where do you get all this garbage? You better give all your rubbish to "psp". |
^^^^^ Lemme guess, the devil told you this right. Both of you are a confused bunch. |
Billyonaire: Was Jesus Christ so intolerant ? Your monika is a lie.Don't bring Jesus into this. He asked you questions and instead of giving him answers, you were busy flexing ur E-muscles. And ummm, why is my moniker a lie and yours isn't? |
@Op, Did you likee? What did you tell the lady afterwards? Are you sure it was in a church and not in a club? (it's really hard to tell the difference in Nigerian churches nowadays) Maybe she was possessed by fugly daemons who have been sent to torment you and also to use your p£n1$ as a remote controller. -------------------- Okay do you seriously think all yoruba worshippers dance this way. The problem is not with the yanshgiving lady, the problem is with you. Maybe she had no eveel intention of awakening your sleeping tiger, you just read too much meaning into the dance and your p-controller got carried away. |
I think you pretty much covered all Churches in Nigeria. Men, are we in trouble!!!! At this rate, no one would make heaven. |
@Billyonaire, don't you feel that Wiegraf has been a pain in ur b.utt? Why don't you make his brain explode or possess his body and throw him into a lagoon or something like that? Oh wait, you can't do that, you must just have been spewing the amala + rice that you ate. |
musKeeto: E get the way e go be, only Jesus and im Papa go dey heaven*shao khan's voice* You make me laugh! Hahahahaha |
highyo: now i know that, only few are waiting for Christ. So you had to lie about receiving a revelation. And for your info, going to church every Sunday does not mean that you put God first in your life. |
Firstfruit is for firstborns only right? Thank God I am the firstborn of my father. Oya everybody, start paying your firstfruit to me oo. Don't give me banana & agbalumo Because it is called firstfruit oo. Firstfruit= your first pay of the year. So pay up dudes/ladies. |
These are the kind of stories that make me sick. * Footballers & fans -- if you've kicked a ball at anytime in your life or you have a favourite soccer team (including your country's soccer team then you better start preparing for hell too. * Musicians -- Does this include gospel musicians too? I'm a chorister in the church I attend, am I going to hell for singing to the glory of God? * non - tithers -- Did the being that gave you the revelation tell you why he/she needed tithes so much. Do they need the tithes to construct heavenly roads or perhaps the tithe is required to feed starving little angels. Bottomline is; your revelation is as false as the concept of hell. Stay blessed. |
JeSoul: Glad you found it useful dear. If not for time handcuffs me, I'd find several threads that discuss many of the questions you've asked here. Thanks for your help. I'll also try to search for them myself. Back to the issue...was it ever really about the "physical descendants of Issac"? or perhaps it seems that way because the writers were primarily of Abrahimic lineage? Jesus (and the NT) expound on the OT and reveal to us God's true plans that were misunderstood by the 'traditional' Israelites who believed they were the one true "people of God". Think of it this way...as much as I believe the scriptures are of divine inspiration - it was also written by human hands - and yes subject bias too. There are many instances of non-Isrealites being shown as people of faith or acceptable to God in the OT - including the great Melchizedek, whom Jesus Himself was likened to! what greater an example could you get than that? Thanks for your exposition on the issue. But why did Jesus indirectly refer to the woman as a dog. He said "it is not good to take the children's bread and give it to the dogs" what did He mean by the statement? |
frosbel: ^^^How do I know that I have received understanding from the Holy Spirit? Will there be any visible difference that would make me know that I have received spiritual understanding? |
^^^^ Gone through the link and the thread was fantastic (although Mazaje never replied your last post). On the issue of Israel being the chosen ones, Romans 9 really helps us to understand what it really means to be part of God's chosen people but the thing is, it was later that it became so. It used to be about physical descendants of Isaac and not believers in God (remember that the Israelites just went off eliminating unbelievers without giving them the chance to come to know the true God). In another part of the bible, Jesus specifically told a woman that He only came for the lost sheep of Israel (physical descendants) and no one else. |
^^^^ I'm not declaring atheism. I just find it hard to believe that the God referred to as a man of war in the bible is actually GOD. What is the point of having such a large universe if You are only going to focus on Israel? Why confuse the language of man because you don't want them to build a city and be united? And truth be told, I still don't understand why Christ had to be killed before we could be forgiven, and also if Christ took all our sins and died with it, doesn't that mean that He was a sinner at death? Why did Christ say that the generation that He was talking to 2,000 years ago would still be alive when He returned (are they not dead yet?). Questions just keep coming up. |
@Jesoul, thanks for your contribution. God bless you too. |
Exodus 11:7 In this verse God says He will kill the Egyptian children to show that he puts "a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." (why would God put a distinction between Egypt and Israel, is He a tribal God?) ....... To be continued ....... |
Exodus 10:1-2 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them 2 that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the LORD. _________________ God hardened pharoah's heart so that He could perform signs among them. He wants to be remembered for dealing harshly with the Egyptians and for performing signs among them so that they would know that He is the LORD (Is God trying to prove that He is God or what?) |
Exodus 9:15-16 From this verse it seems like God gave power to the Pharaoh so that he could show off his own power by killing him. |
God decides to kill Moses because his son had not yet been circumcised. 4:24-26 _______________ Moses and Aaron ask the Pharaoh to let all the Israelites go into the desert to pray for three days, or else God will kill them all "with pestilence, or with the sword." 5:3 "Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh." 6:1 _______________ God will make sure that Pharaoh does not listen to Moses, so that he can kill Egyptians with his armies. 7:4 |
Exodus. God sends Moses to free His people from the Egyptians (are the Egyptians not His creation). He tells Moses that he would perform lots of signs and wonders but it would be in futility cause He would harden pharoah's heart. And then finally He would kill pharoah's firstborn son because he refused to release Israel, His firstborn son (not that pharoah had a choice in the matter). |
Genesis 38: we see God killing people discriminately. "And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him." What did Er do to elicit God's wrath? The Bible doesn't say. Maybe he picked up some sticks on Saturday. 38:7 Onan was also killed for not producing an offspring for his brother. He spilled his semen on the ground (withdrawal method things) |
Now this one is a famous story showing us the faith that Abraham had in God. God decides to test Abraham, God orders Abraham to kill Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham shows his love for God by his willingness to murder his son. But finally, just before Isaac's throat is slit, God provides a ram to kill instead. 22:2-13 15. (Most of us would have failed this test. Why do we have to kill to prove that we love God?) Abraham shows his willingness to kill his son for God. Why would an omnibelovolent, merciful, gracious and loving God ask a man that just gave birth to a son to kill that same son and Abraham was willing to do it. God promised him blessings for being willing to murder his son. |
Genesis 20:1-17 God gets angry with king Abimelech (he also believed Abraham's lie), though the king hasn't even touched Sarah. He says to the king, "Behold, thou art but a dead man," and threatens to kill him and all of his people. To compensate for the crime he never committed, Abimelech gives Abraham sheep, oxen, slaves, silver, and land. Finally, after Abraham "prayed unto God," God lifts his punishment to Abimelech, "for the Lord had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah." |
