An accursed messiah, prophet and “son of god”?impossible! He could never have being killed and therefore he never “died” for your sins (thus no human sacrifice” and therefore no resurrection!

With all the crying and weeping of Jesus, Christians hold that Jesus was killed and therefore become “cursed” as a human sacrifice that “died” for their sin”. Is that how a loving God (your so called “heavenly father”) treats his beloved son? Do Christian fathers sacrifice their sons and give them up to save the wicked and those who have committed atrocities? Is it just to punish the innocent in the place of the criminal?

Deuteronomy 24:16
The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

This is the word of God himself but yet Christians claim that Jesus came to die for our sins. If every man dies for his own sins then where does that put Jesus?

No one finds it easy to put away religion and to discard everything they have ever held to be truth so it mustn't have been all that rosy for the former pastor but all I can see here is arrogant people claiming others who don't subscribe to their beliefs are fools. If you are able to believe in the biblical God without any doubt then good for you but you don't have to insult others who find it hard to do the same.

@op, another important thing to note is that we won't really be judged based on our deeds but by our beliefs. Imagine going to hell for not getting a chance to hear about Jesus; our ancestors are in big soup.

There is no need to be alarmed by the title of this thread. Many random thoughts have been running through my mind ever since I became skeptical about the biblical concept of God and this question just happens to be one of them.

I didn't just come up with this question for the sake of it but rather it came after I read some bible verses promising the return of Christ. I don't like boring people with long posts so I'll just go ahead and post them.

Matthew 24:34

I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened

If you read the preceding verses, you'll notice that Jesus was talking about the signs of the end of the world and his imminent return. Now, after giving his disciples all the signs, he says that they would still be alive when everything happens. The disciples are obviously dead so which other generation was Jesus referring to?

Also in Revelation 1:7 it says

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him.
So shall it be! Amen.

How is this possible?


Also when you read through the new testament from Acts to Jude, you'll also realise that early Christians were actually expecting Christ to come while they were yet alive but he never showed up.

Now in the light of these two verses in the bible, does anybody still believe that Christ Jesus will return?

But why didn't they fight for what they believed in? Methinks the African concept of God makes more sense than what is contained in the Bible.

2 Samuel 24:1-17
God gets angry, he makes David take a census of Israel and Judah and then he decides to punish David for what he made David do. He gives David three options to choose from.
* 7 years of famine
* 3 months of fleeing from enemies
* 3 days of plague

David chooses 3 days of plague and the next day God sends the plague and 70,000 people die. The angel is about to strike more people when God suddenly realises that he had done a bad thing, he grieves for the calamity and stops the angel from afflicting more people.

There are many things wrong with this bible chapter and up till now, I haven't gotten a reasonable explanation for God's supposed actions in that chapter.

Now comparing 2 Samuel 24 with 1 Chronicles 21.
It's still the same account of the same event but the following differences can be found there
* Satan is the one that makes David to take the census

and

* instead of 7 years of famine, here it is recorded as 3 years of famine.
